Guest Reviews
- Peter (7/5): Really enjoyed it . Would stay there again. Location was great was great - Location. Being adjacent to the national park was a real bonus.
It was very well equipped. It had just about everything we needed The fold away bed was not comfortable

- kelly (9/5): Perfect family getaway in an amazing location - We absolutely loved our stay! The location is incredible – honestly, 2 nights was not enough. The house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. There’s a national park track right in front of the house, which made it perfect for walks, and the waterfall is also very close by.
The backyard is large, which was great for our two boys to run around, and we really enjoyed having a campfire in the evening. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable.
We would definitely love to come back and stay here again. Also, thank you to the host for the welcome snacks and drinks – such a thoughtful touch! Nothing – everything was perfect!
- Erin (10/5): Amazing stay amongst beautiful scenery. Highly recommend! - Location was absolutely beautiful. The house was stunning and was presented wonderfully. Great communication by the hosts as well. There was a slight funky smell to the house but it was very clean, so not sure where it was coming from.
- Peta (9/5): Everything you need for a relaxing weekend - Great location with the national park just a few steps away. Very spacious and cozy.
- Ryan (10/5): -
- Marci (9/5): Awesome location next to National Park! - The location! To be just on the other side of the national park was amazing!! The wildlife and birds were extraordinary. The bedrooms were large with comfortable queen/king mattresses. Excellent shower and water pressure. Kitchen had supplies needed. Gas stove top which was nice. WiFi worked perfectly. All in all, would recommend. The couch in the TV space is starting to show its age (stains). A previous reviewer seemed disappointed that there is no dishwasher. It was no problem for us at all: we weren’t expecting one!
- Theresa (10/5): - Cosy, very clean home and spacious with everything we needed. Perfect for a family getaway and the owners were wonderful.
- Joel (9/5): Relaxing - The house was spacious and comfortable. Quite spot great for a Wes’s to walks and waterfall
- Margot (10/5): -
- Marion (7/5): - I messaged the owners direct about cleaning issues & lack of preparation for our stay. This was acknowledged but not rectified. Location
- Becky (8/5): - Beautiful back garden area with lovely fire pit, was perfect. And the property itself was stunning Very small detail, we arrived after dark and although it was easy to get in there wasn’t a light that came on outside so we were fumbling around a little bit. Once we were in it was perfect. Although that outdoor light (once we turned it on) is only in very briefly. You have to be quick.
- Heather (9/5): A touch of paradise - Amazing location on the edge of the forest.
Tranquil home that is a pleasure to stay in.
Clean with an excellent level of facilities.
Huge beds.
Very good information provided by the hosts at each step. Nothing

- Shcherbakov (10/5): - The property was very good and comfortable. Highly recommended.
- Aaron (10/5): -
- Meghann (9/5): Highly recommend. - The location was amazing backing onto Springbrook National Park and the Purlingbrook Circuit. It is at the end of the street so very private and close to nature. The quality of the furniture, linen, crockery etc was top notch. The kitchen was well stocked for self catering. Great for families with children as very spacious. There were no face washers or tissues.
- Kahlia (10/5): Overall, great house and definitely worth the money! I would stay here again and recommend it! - Such a big, lovely house! Great location with the trail to Purlingbrook Falls right outside. Kitchen had everything we could possibly need and all the furniture was so nice! Accommodated comfortably for 8 people. My only complaint would be that the curtains in the bedrooms were very thin, so we got woken up by the sun coming through, but it wasn’t too bad. We had some trouble turning on the oven but the hosts replied quickly and helped! The sofa bed was also broken so we had to use two mattresses on the floor which was fine as they were still comfortable.
- bruce (8/5): Good - Kitchen was well equipped .Plenty of room for all of us.
House was clean and spacious and the air conditioning worked well.
There were two double bed mattresses made up on the floor of the lounge room which was a bit odd as there were only four of us and they were a bit in the way. Unfortunately the bedroom curtains were very sheer and see through. This was not good as the light came in . There was a window above the bed which had no curtains at all and being a full moon it was very bright . BBQ needed a clean

- Rebecca (8/5): Great house in a great location - Comfortable house in a great location. You can walk directly onto the Purling Brook track at the end of the road.
- Helen (10/5): It catered for both small groups as well as large groups. Maybe more advice that larger groups woul - We brought our own food but facilities were excellent We would have preferred to have fire wood & fire starters provided so we didn’t have to use the a/c for heating. We couldn’t locate any fire tools even if we bought firewood
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (9/5): As close as you can get to Purling Brook Falls and in stylish comfort of The Bower. - Wonderfully comprehensive amenities and a wonderful location on the boundary of the rainforest and a short distance to Purling Brook Falls. Wildlife visiting on the lawn at the front door. Minor issue with the oven tending to smoke a little and no firewood available for sale locally during our stay Minor things.
- Meg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (10/5): Relaxing, large accommodation with bonus extras, close to walking track. - Easy instructions for access. Close to walking track, lovely large accommodation and living areas. Loved the fire pit. Everything was great!
- Fischer (8/5): Very good - Modern and very clean interior. Excellent wifi. Big Television. Told there was a sofa bed. Not a sofa bed only a mattress on the floor.
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Yoshuya (10/5): Exceptional -

- Aleksandrfist (10/5): Exceptional - It was amazing 😍😍😍
A beautiful house, a very big and very clear place.
There were five of us, my wife and I and three children, and we really liked it!!! We gathered around the fire in the evening and fed the animals in the morning. This place is ideal for viewing waterfalls. And I repeat, the house is huge, it turned out to be bigger than we thought from the photo. We will definitely stay there next year when we travel)))
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yl (9/5): The bower at purling brook - Beautiful national park next to the house, lovely treats from hosts, wonderful waterfalls within driving distance and a convenient shop/pub next to the house! Thin curtains as all of us woke up very early every day
No dishwasher (first world problem for one guest)
- Eric (8/5): Very good -
- Kien (8/5): Ok - The location The cleanliness.
- Tracey (8/5): Very good -
- Maxine (7/5): Amazing location to visit the Springbrook National Park. - The location was excellent, right on the doorstep of the national park with rainforest at the end of the garden. We could walk straight into the park to see the waterfall and walk the trails. Facilities in the house were great, with fully equipped kitchen and laundry which were very useful during our stay. The information from the hosts was also useful about stocking up with food before arrival as there are no shops nearby. When we arrived there was a very strong smell of bleach which took a couple of days and opening all the windows to get rid of. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable for both of us. Some of the items in the kitchen were not as clean as I would have expected. Some local information and maps in the house would have been useful for us to use whilst staying.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jayden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dylan (10/5): Beautiful location, cosy comfort! - Such a beautiful property! Our young family loved looking out onto the rainforest each morning. The house is so cosy and the beds were extremely comfy. Some confusion on receiving code for locked box to access keys, however once we spoke to our lovely hosts it was quickly sorted out. Suggest confirming you have the code prior to arrival.
- Jazz (10/5): Perfect getaway into nature - Outstanding location. Right near the purlingbrook falls and. Ext to the main forest. So a lovely little house with very comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. The stay was perfect for a get away. Nothing to dislike.
- Weekes (9/5): Tranquil retreat - Location, style, set up Only the lack of fire lighters which was accidental by the cleaner.
- Blair (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sue-ellen (9/5): Beautiful stay at Springbrook - The house had everything we needed including the small things in the kitchen that you don't always pack. Bathroom toiletries were good quality. Very clean and comfortable. The outside fly screens had a few big spider nests that may need to be cleaned. Maybe better signage and driveway entrance and exit to make it easier to find.
- Chelle (10/5): Exceptional - Just perfect.
- Linda (8/5): Very good - The bed was very comfortable with clean sheets and towls.
The lounge was clean and comfortable. Located with track to purlingbrook Falls. Spider webs in the corners everywhere, a nest of baby huntsman with a big one in the bathroom. The bathtub had insects and dust in it. The oven did not work, and the ovenracks were rusty.. the dish cloth was thin and old. A dehumidifier was running 24/7 and signs of water damage around the room. No paper or kindling to start a fire after I enquired about the fire pit outside.
- Junita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (8/5): Loved the cleanliness and spatiousness of the house - Location was good. It was close to many of the walks. The house was very clean & well equipped. Tv remote needs replacement
- Jennifer (7/5): The house suited our needs and we had a good stay. - We were pleased with the house and location
The host was wonderful to help us with internet tv problems, we were so grateful We felt the house had not been cleaned and the sheets not changed . My friend found hairs in her bed.
Fortunately we were able to wash the sheets and remake beds
Washing was on clothes line when we arrived, we left it there.
- Tony (10/5): Good vibe accommodation in Springbrook - The space is huge and well maintained. We enjoy the day we stayed. They got indoor & outdoor fireplace. You can enjoy the rustic vibe or modern vibe at same place. Springbrook national park is just nearby, so you can imagine the nature and pure air is amazing. We need to back home and can't stay longer.
- Svetlana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alesha (8/5): Very good -
- Mavis (9/5): Superb - Great stay, huge space, and self-contained house with all amenities.
We were very happy with our stay.
Also, the close proximity to purling lookout points was an added bonus.
Will definitely stay again. There is a whiff from the sanitary pit that comes and goes..
Not sure if anything can be done about it..
But overall didn't bother us.
- David (9/5): Lovely - Very comfortable
- Julie (8/5): Very good - We loved the location as we wanted tranquillity. The home was easy to be in, comfortable. Communication with the owners was easy. The smell of the septic tank at times could be offensive. We understand that as we have septic tanks at home, others may not.
- Monica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robbie (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (10/5): Home away from home - The accommodation was exactly as pictured and moments away from the breathtaking walk to Purling Brook Falls. Large living space and bedrooms, plenty of games/books to keep us entertained by the wood heater, overall an exceptionally clean house tucked away in a quiet street - this property genuinely felt like a home away from home. The owners provided all necessary information before the trip to ensure we had enough food and firewood and this was greatly appreciated! We honestly did not want to leave! This is a wonderful property, definitely worth every dollar! Nothing.
- Reen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (10/5): Cosy accommodation in Springbrook - We loved our stay at the Bower. Very comfortable accommodation in a renovated house. The spacious lounge and fireplace were fantastic and the heaters in the living area and bedrooms were just what we needed. Lots of kitchen equipment provided and lots of thought put into the supply of lovely bathroom products and handwashes and welcoming gifts. Perfect location a short walk away from Purling Brook Falls with lovely bird song in the area. Would stay again 😊
- Eamon (1/5): Good location but poor accommodation - location No towels whatsoever
No curtains so no privacy
No heating
Difficult to find as no number or name identifying property
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Jodie (10/5): overall very happy with our stay. the kids loved it - beautiful property. Love the fire place. Good size rooms. Owners were very quick at responding to messages.
Definitely will be back. it could do with curtains.
