Guest Reviews

- Patrycja (9/5): - Lovely room and facilities, beautiful location
- Violeta (10/5): Perfect Christmas in Co. Mayo - I had a wonderful stay at Declan’s property. The accommodation was all brand new, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. I had my own private bathroom, a large comfortable bed, reliable internet, and convenient parking right at the property. The hosts were extremely welcoming and made the stay even more enjoyable. The location is ideal for exploring the beautiful beaches and the surrounding area — County Mayo is a fantastic place to visit, especially in the autumn. I had a great time and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located stay.

- Dieter (9/5): We would go there, again! - The beautiful house in relatively new with spacious rooms with and extra area for keeping our luggage. We want to highlight the large and comfortable beds. Together with the quiet , dark and remote location this was excellent for a goo nights sleep. The view from the shared sitting/living room is stunning! We had a great stay there. n.a.

- Philip (8/5): - Lovely remote location to explore the beautiful Blacksod Peninsula. Neat, clean and modern. Declan was fabulous with ideas of places to explore and things to do in area. Would be great if there was more cooking facilities and fridge space. Only microwave and kettle. There are some lovely spots to eat out in Belmullet.
- Ignacy (10/5): We enjoyed our stay a lot! One of the most beautiful places we have been to in Ireland so far. - The place is located in an increadibly beautiful spot and the host is a very nice and friendly person ready to help. Thank you for your hospitality Declan! I strongly recommend the place.
- Taryn Candice (9/5): Idyllic - The stay was perfect and met all our requirements.
Declan was a brilliant host,we will definitely be back!! A visiting child slamming doors, which is NO reflection on the property
- Romeo (8/5): Relaxing stay in remote area - Nice view. Beautiful beaches and walks around. General room cleaning and common spaces cleaning was not great.
Internet quality was questionable
- SARA (8/5): Beautiful location, great host, definitely a two day stay - Great facilities, well organised house. Easy to get to if you have a car. Perfect location to explore the area.

- Mark (10/5): Excellent place to stay - highly recommended - So close to beach, great house & really slept well & Declan was a great host I think the kitchenette could be improved - maybe a hob & oven - at the minimum an air fryer
- Langhammer (9/5): Fal Mor House - Beautiful location, spacious property, excellent bed 30 degree heat, what's not to like?
- Paul (10/5): Excellent location, hidden gem - Excellent location, new property which is super comfortable and modern Could probably do with a small hot plate in the kitchen area.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cathy (9/5): Superb - Lovely peaceful location near some nice beaches and a good pub nearby.
- Rebekka (10/5): Exceptional - Declan was an excellent host, we felt at home right from the beginning. Everything is new and in excellent condition. The location is perfect for people who are looking for a relaxing holiday in nature as well as for those searching for some adventure. We hope to come back soon. That we only stayed for three nights
- Paola (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (4/5): We were lucky with good weather and our host was quite friendly and pleasant. - I was disappointed with the lack of running water in the kitchenette, also the hassle of using containers of water placed on the floor. Some shelves would have been helpful. Also in the bedroom there was no shelf or chair on which to put our cases, also no mirror.
- Kathy (8/5): Would definitely go there again. Superb location and very clean and welcoming - Very spacious room. Very clean
Great location No kettle or tea facilities in the bedroom. I know there was access to these facilities in the sitting room. Prefer to get up and make tea in own room. Walls very thin. Quite noisy when people coming and going from their rooms. Doors shutting.
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cr (10/5): Great stay in a beautiful place - Declan is a friendly and chilled host who will leave you to work away.
The ensuite room was big, comfortable, and surprisingly warm. Easy to find and perfectly located if you want to get away from it all.
There are multiple beaches, docks and beautiful scenery all on the doorstep, and you can see for miles from the window.
There are 2 pubs, fishing, Declan's own surf school and tours to the Inishkeas within minutes of the house. There is plenty to keep you busy, even if it's just admiring the beauty of the place. Recommend going to Rough Elly or Glosh beaches for the sunset. You won't be disappointed.
There is a wee fridge, kettle and microwave in the shared living space as Belmullet is about 25 minutes drive away, which was grand for us. There is no main kitchen sink because of the way the house is set up so I did feel bad for Declan having to wash our dishes. But he has done his best to provide more than most places would so fair play. (Most places only provide a kettle, if even).
He has books and board games too if you have time during your stay, or WiFi if you prefer that.
If you're an animal lover there are plenty around to see, both land and sea. Playing fetch with Declan's friendly collie is also a non-negotiable!
The only thing I will say the walls are thin so please be mindful of the other guests and your live-in host afterhours.
The property was what I wanted when I booked it for my birthday and I would gladly stay here again.
GRMA Declan! :)
- Walker (10/5): A lovely place to relax. - The peace and quiet was lovely and the views were brilliant
- You (10/5): Amazing Spot That Has It All ! - An Amazing Place.Stunning tranquil setting with a superb host.Amazing room with views to die for and everything you need .An absolute gem of a place with a lovely kind host Declan who catered for our every need. Amazing spot for surfers sea swimmers hikers and park runners ...Has it All!
- Aishwarya (8/5): Beautiful stay - Very relaxing and we enjoy our stayed here. House was clean and in a remote place. Enjoyed the surrounding mountains and ocean 😇 Would love to have a cooking appliance since the house is in the remote area and been vegetarian we need to go to city to buy the food. Would had been handy if we could cook in house.
- Cian (10/5): The location was stunning, our room was excellent and the host was very friendly. Great stay overall -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - The isolation and spectacular views. Nothing
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Finbarr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allison (10/5): Spacious, relaxing, modern - absolutely fabulous if you love nature and enjoy chilling out. - The location was absolutely wonderful - remote and wild with lots of weather and great local walks. Declan as host was fantastic, kind, helpful, and not at all intrusive. The house was lovely and a great kick off point for doing beach and other walks and as well as visiting other landmarks along the Wild Atlantic Way. The Erris Park Run is close by and it was great. I stayed for a week so some laundry facilities would've been good - that said, I used the opportunity to travel to Crossmolina to use the washing machines and dryers at Revolution Laundry - that gave me a chance to have a look around Crossmolina which I enjoyed. The locals at the pub were friendly! I would love to return.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - i booked this place from my eir code for work your booking site said it was 15 kilometres it was an hour and half drive to the location, probably 15 kilometres cross water maybe??
- K8 (10/5): Nice house, very good location worth of money to pay - Perfect location with short walking distance to beach Nice view from the house
- Patrick (10/5): Joyous flexible scenic comfortable, tranquil setting just right for family to enjoy natural beaches& - Declan met us and welcomed us really well in a nice helpful encouraging, non obtrusive manner. His house is very new, modern, warm and comfortable and very clean and well decorated throughout with smart tv's and wi/fi laid on in all areas. We were Self catering and we had access to a living dining area with catering facilities: Microwave, Kettle , fridge, toaster etc to prepare our meals.
I am a single parent of a special needs girl aged 32. Brid is Pradder Willi Syndrome, autistic and Esn. Declan's house is detached and private with fabula's sea views of Ackle etc, near Black Sod Bay. There was plenty for us to do, photograph and view here. Declan said we were on our holidays and washed up our used Plates cups and cutlery etc. When we met Declan out bye, beach etc: he talked to us both by name and encouraged us. I never ever met a better host. No, Declan had everything completely covered. We had such a good time. Hope to return again: plenty to do, tranquility, hospitality and ease of access.
- Jan (10/5): Our stay was just perfect, good location, amazing views, lovely host, cute dog, modern and warm in winter! - Location was lovely and the view could not be any better! The house is very modern, new, well isolated and in very good condition. The host was extremely nice and welcoming!

- Briege (10/5): Loves it here and will definitely stay again - We loved this shared house and the views were amazing

- Sarah (7/5): Good -
- Dearbhla (8/5): Very good -
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful base to explore the Mullet peninsula and north west Mayo. Would highly recommend Declans's Fal Mor House.
- Beverly (9/5): Lovely spot! - Declan is great! Friendly & helpful! It might be helpful to have a sign saying Fal Mor House at the driveway entry, as it’s very dark at night & a little hard to know if you’re at the right place.
- Karen (10/5): Gorgeous views, amazing location, beautiful room, friendly host - Beautiful location
Friendly host and dog!
Modern, clean room with dressing area and lovely bathroom
Good parking
Unbelievable views No sink in sitting area, but understand why
No internet connection or when there was, very poor and intermittent
No TV connection at all
Need kettle in room for early cuppa!
Blow up bed noisy and uncomfortable
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karl (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dolan (9/5): Superb - Loved the views from the bedroom. The bedroom and shared spaces were inviting, clean and well equipped.
- Auksė (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brid (10/5): Heavenly stay - Beautiful location tucked away near Blacksod Lighthouse and Deirbhle’s Twist. Close by Glosh Beach which is a great spot for surfing and you can even organise a lesson through host Declan who happens to own the Tonn Nua surf school too. I stayed in the double Room with en-suite and it was a stunning dual aspect room with big windows that gave breathtaking views of the coast on a clear day! Would definitely go back Probably most suitable for travellers with a car
- Yao (10/5): Exceptional - perfect!
- Aisling (10/5): Exceptional - Omg. The host, house and view / setting was amazing. The room was so comfortable. The use of a sitting room to relax was an added bonus. The view from the house was out of this world. There was nothing that we disliked
- Durgesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Must-book - Declan was an excellent host to us. The house is newly built, the rooms are very well equipped and the furniture was also brand new. Next to our own room with en-suite bathroom there was also a living room we could commonly use. It's fully equipped with microwave, fridge and cutlery so self-catering was easily possible. There were also additional amenities outside like a drying shed or a tap to clean things. On top plenty of parking space.
The site ist at a great place with fantastic views and an extraordinary site. Belmullet is just a 15-minutes drive away.
All in all it was a fantastic stay we enjoyed very much. It was not like renting a room but like being Declan's personal guests so it could not have been better. We'll definitely come again! Frankly speaking there's not the slightest thing I could mention negatively.
