Guest Reviews
- Abdul (8/5): Broadstairs - Beaches and Brunches. - Great location for Beaches and eateries and local sight seeing. Not too far from train station and plenty of local busses to Margate and Ramsgate. Loved the cottage feel but some aspects need maintenance
- Manning (7/5): Lovely little place to stay its on 4 levels but comfortable and is a proper Dickens character place - The toilet it waa like a jet plane taking off every time you flushed but did understand why
- Elizabeth (8/5): Lovely - Location was perfect, right in the heart of Broadstairs, close to everything, including the beach, yet tucked away so it was nice and quiet. The two single beds could have been a bit better….one mattress was really firm, the other was really squishy, but i guess the host is trying to suit everyone. Salt & pepper would have been nice…we brought all our own food to reheat but didn’t think to bring salt & pepper 😂
- Lovewell (10/5): - Excellent location. The accommodation has everything you need. Very enjoyable stay. Nothing
- MARK (8/5): Great location - Character Not very well stocked with basics
- Philip (10/5): Brilliant - Really lovely place to stay , in a great location, Broadstairs is a really great resort Very comfortable , lovely period cottage
- Jac (9/5): Fabulous location with a literary connection - The location and historic property
Authenticity
Right in the centre of the place and close to the Bea h yet private. Felt part of the community Nothing
- Mick (8/5): - It was not as clean that's going to win kitchen table thick with grease undired. I have photos.
- Rosemary (8/5): -
- kristianne (9/5): Fabulous fisherman’s cottage in a fantastic location - The cottage is superb in a fantastic location only a short stroll to the town and beaches.
Children will absolutely love the lay out over 4 floors with little winding staircases.
Each bedroom had plenty of towels and toiletries and the decor was lovely … modern but still retaining original features.
Owner provided really helpful directions to nearest parking areas.
We intend to be back in the autumn if we can. It was all lovely
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic cottage. Clean, fresh , perfect location
- Janette (10/5): Lovely cottage , small and quirky : Great location - N/A Stairs very steep and narrow ,We were made aware of them prior to out stay : Difficult if you have mobility issues or small children
- Alana (10/5): We had such a lovely time here. As I mentioned, the property was oozing with character, and very cosy. We would definite - Beautiful property with loads of character. Amazing location - a one minute walk to the coast, and a two minute stroll into the town. Very clean, and has lovely comfortable double bed. Nothing
- Christopher (10/5): Was a lovely experience amd would come back - The house and location was top notch
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Birgitta (10/5): We will definitely be back. - The cottage was very cosy and very clean. Beds very comfortable and the location was perfect for our stay.
- Martin (5/5): A brief stay in a quirkyperiod property, marred by a lack of proper maintenanceinside. - Handy location, quaint period property. The house has been sympathetically restored and decorated, if in need of some decorative maintenance. The cleanliness of the property, particularly the bathroom and kitchen, was not satisfactory. The taps and wash surfaces needed descaling (bought our own Viakal to clean these), the mastic/sealant in the shower unit was mouldy and in need of replacing. There was only a quarter of a roll of lavatory paper in the bathroom (we had to buy our own from a local supermarket) and the lavatory cistern developed a nasty habit of refilling noisily for no apparent reason: the Saniflo macerator seemed to worked efficiently, if noisily.
A fresh pint of milk was left in the kitchen fridge, which was much appreciated. However, as the the internal door of the ice compartment is missing, there is a tremendous build-up of ice in that compartment and the fridge itself is then continuing to try and cool down but failing to get the main fridge compartment down to the required temperature.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good - Very cute and quaint little fishermans cottage. Great location and excellent communications with the owners. Broken piece in shower. Better extraction needed for cooker. No lock on bathroom
No instructions on how the property should be left, bedding etc
- Yvonne (10/5): Beautiful cottage, with Beautiful features. The owners provided all the essentials for a weekend. - The location of the property was very central to broadstairs NA
- Lesley (8/5): Very good - Location. Stair challenging for older people.
- Albert (9/5): Superb -
- Lorna (9/5): Superb -
- Lorraine (8/5): Very good - The location was perfect. So close to the beach, shops and restaurants. The house was cosy and quirky. It was spread over 4 floors with windy stairs. It had everything we needed and was well equipped. A nice little bench outside for my morning cuppa too. We were warned about the windy stairs. They were manageable for our 10 and 6 year old though. The kitchen was in the basement so a bit dark. We didn't spend much time there as we ate out mostly but I imagine it might not be that nice to spend too much time down there!
- Samantha (8/5): Very good -
- Niki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (10/5): Really lovely place we will be back! X - Location was brilliant The the kitchen being under and no natural light (personal preference with kids and breakfast in morning)
- Michael (9/5): Ideal place to stay for a couple of nights in Broadstairs. - Perfect location in Broadstairs, near the beach and in the town. Lovely accommodation, spotlessly clean. Full of character too.
- Felicity (9/5): Superb -
- Barry (8/5): Excellent - Central
- Bradley (10/5): Exceptional - It was a gorgeous little house.
It was very warm when we arrived, and very cosy. The beds were exceptionaly comfortable.
The location is very close to the cliffe tops, and there is a short walk down to the harbour area. The beaches are lovely and sandy. There is a very nice fish and chip shop a stones throw away, the staff in there are lovely.
Coming back to this little cottage after a windy and rainy coastal walk is a very homely experience.
The kitchen is really cute in the basement. It was a lovely stay, and have nothing I did not like.
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kylie (6/5): Small, cozy house in a fabulous location. - The property was in a fantastic location. It was just a short walk to the beach and a short walk into town to a huge range of restaurants. It was also very quiet despite being in such a central location. Being dog friendly was a bonus. I found the bed mattress to be too hard and the pillows too soft and lumpy. The duvet was also too heavy. A lighter duvet would be better during the warmer months.
- Michael (9/5): Excellent we will be rebooking at some point - The location was very central and in walking distance to the town centre It was absolutely spotless and I would be nit picking if I said I didn’t like anything
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - Explanation location quiet but near all amenities just what we were looking for locals all freindly and helpfull Nothing
- Kevin (7/5): Good - Stairs steeper than expected
- Colin (8/5): Very good - Well appointed, good location, cosy, clean, well maintained. Stairs a little restrictive, fridge left food wet, little more compact than photos suggested, shower cubicle quite small.
- Richard (8/5): Very good - Good location, Broadstsirs is lovely, and the cottage is close enough to the town centre not to need our car.
Great shower, once we learned the mechanics - excellent support from the hosts. For some reason I was expecting a sea view - maybe I assumed too much from the pictures on the website, maybe i did not read the description well enough.
I think the stairs should be described as 'steep', and reasoanbly narrow. We managed fine,
The duvets were a bit too heavy/warm - we were lucky with the weather.
- Helen (8/5): Really lovely stay and great location so that was fab! - The cottage was very cute and the location was perfect! The kitchen was quite dark and not great to eat in because no ventilation, but as we were there for 2 nights it didn’t matter really. Apart from the kitchen the cottage was nice.
- Sunha (7/5): Good -
- Rosemary (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (8/5): Lovely, cute cottage which was perfect for our little holiday! - The location was fantastic and was super cosy and perfect for our little family holiday! N/A - owners pre warned us about steep spiral staircase. It would have been very unsuitable if our baby was bigger and mobile, but was fine whilst she isn’t crawling yet, so really appreciated pre warning :-)
- Rowena (9/5): Superb -
- Klaus (8/5): Very good -
- Pauline (7/5): comfortable clean and great location - close too the beach clean and tidy had to get the shower sorted first night there as wasn’t working properly and the other shower head was working but broken off the stand
kitchen on ground floor living room middle floor by front door entrance bedrooms bathroom top floor not suitable for young families as two steep flights of stairs no stair gates
- James (9/5): Perfection. - The location was perfect - 2 mins walk and we were in the heart of the town, and 2 mins the other way was the sea. The cottage was lovely and warm and homely with everything you could need. I couldn't get the TV to work, and I called the owner just to give me some guidance over the phone and he insisted on popping round to sort it out for me. He truly wanted everything to be perfect with our stay and we were very grateful to him. Lovely chap. Will definitely visit again - thank you Phill :) We loved everything :)
- Gerard (5/5): Passable -
- Gavin (7/5): Great location and super cute cottage - Great location and cute cottage Small bed
- Nicola (9/5): Superb - Great cottage in the heart of Broadstairs, everything you need for a stay.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely and cosy. Felt really homely. Nice quiet and private location. Liked everything. We didn't dislike anything. Everything was perfect.
- David (9/5): Good character property in a great location - Good size, as described, clean, comfortable, with character, parking and sandy beach nearby, excellent location.
- Sarah (10/5): Review on cottage - It was lovely, comfortable, relaxing and it great location.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Fiona (8/5): An enjoyable family break with 2 x teenagers beside the sea - Great location, close to Viking bay. Short easy walk to shops, pubs and restaurants
- Jenni (10/5): Fabulous cottage - Lovely cottage with a fantastic central location, just perfect 🥰 Absolutely nothing
- Suki (9/5): We had an amazing relaxing and fun time. - The location was amazing just around the corner is the beautiful beach. The amenities two minutes away, such a gorgeous location. I would definitely recommend for anyone to stay at the lovely, homely cottage. Even though the cottage is dog friendly, unfortunately there is no garden for them to go toilet. Also, the mattress was firm, a topper would make it perfect.
