- Emily (3/5): Very run down and unclean property - A lot of potential as the grounds are nice but don’t recommend staying here. I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels, budget accomodation and this is one of the worst. From the photos online it doesn’t match the current poor state it’s in. Our room had an extremely strong smell of chemicals, there were bugs everywhere uncleaned from the last stay, no bed sheets provided. Do not recommend staying here. It’s really poorly run, we only saw 1 staff member the rest were volunteers. The location is also bizarre, very far from the town not walkable and nothing much nearby and have to uber into town.

- Alexander (6/5): - Pool, Wäscheservice, mein Dorm war leer Wlan hat nicht funktioniert. Keine Vorhänge an den Dormbetten. Ich habe meinen Key Deposit nicht zurückbekommen
- Alejandro (5/5): Not the place to sleep :S - The property is beautiful, the bar/restaurant is good quality, nice gardens and areas to relax, decent kitchen, wifi is ok, free drinking water, staff was nice, close to supermarket, bus station to san salvador on a walking distance. The room was terribly hot, the bunk bed was loose and wobbling, fan on the ceiling only works with lights on, 4 bunk beds but only the two bottom beds had a tiny fan each, the bathroom was a mess and shared between two dorms, drunk people getting in-out of the dorm all night long, people being loud in the bar until dawn...

- Daniel (9/5): Check this place out - Great staff. Hot shower with great pressure. Cold, free drinking water. Nice pool, bar, kitchen and common areas. The mattress. Its good days are a thing of the past, but still comfortable enough.
- Esteban (10/5): - Un hotel de cuento, con una piscina soñada . El personal. Se está como en familia.Es de los mejores hostales que estuve en Centro América Tener que irme.
- inge (8/5): This could be a fantastic hostel with some tlc for the property and the guests - This is gonna be the hardest review ever..
I liked:
The wooden beds
The pool
The hot shower
The lay out of the garden
The amount of appliances and big fridge in the kitchen
The roof terrace
The dutch volunteer that went out of her way to talk to everyone and make you feel welcome
The big supermarket nearby
Proximity to main road, so no need to walk to busterminal I didn't like
the hammocky matrasses
I was the only tourist during the day, so i confiscated the only deck chair
The joined bathroom.. When someone from the other dorm forgot to unlock our door after use, we could not get in
Only one shower for 10 beds
The heavy uncomfortable cast iron chairs and tables
The ratio of 8:3 volunteers to tourists, whereby most volunteers seemed to move in their own bubble
The overall lack of tlc for the property

- Tilly (5/5): - It’s spacious and the beds are comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and staff are friendly. Staff very helpful with advice on how to get to the lake, volcano and into town. There is hot water for 5 minutes which is great. I was also put into an all female dorm for free which was really nice. The decoration is a bit strange, and the building feels quite run down. The pool wasn’t clean either. At night the outside area is taken up by the adjoined restaurant guests.
- Rachel (10/5): - Everything was great, we really enjoyed our stay at this guesthouse!
Well located, staff was super kind and helpful, thanks to them we had a great stay.
Would definitely recommend
- Hugo (4/5): Bad experience. - Location. The hostel has good location and style, but after the check in arrival, reception service doesnt exist.
I went to have dinner and visit the city, but when I returned back at main door entrance I got locked outside hostal at street and no one staff at entrance even being early10.30pm yet.
At my arrival time, I request details but the man told me to don't worry cause I just had to ring the bell and he would open it.
It is very unconfortable stay in holidays and get my access stucked for hostal service doesnt provide complete info and you get stucked at nite.
If u wanna enjoy ur time freely and don't stay limited by hours, I don't recommend booking this OLD BEELS HOSTEL OR CAMPANARIO accomodation.
- Karl (8/5): Very good - This place has so much potential and the garden is beautiful. It's really a lovely spot to hang out and it has most things you need. Its not really clean, apart from the owner are the volunteers not very helpful, there's a café sharing the garden, but they don't have an agreement with them to get breakfast for instance.
The owner has parties from time to time and its very loud. They couldve held the parties in the garden or the terrace to not disturb the customers.
- Stephanie (10/5): I felt very satisfied with my stay and would recommend it to others. - Excellent location -- close enough to bus stops and grocery stores, and in a very pleasant and quiet neigborhood. Very calm and relaxing atmosphere. Only thing better would have been more information about what to visit and how to get there by bus. The volunteer staff was very new there and only learning it themselves.
