Guest Reviews
- Armin (9/5): Had a great week there❤️ - Everything! Great breakfast, nice staff, lovely swimming pool
- Svensk (9/5): -
- Blithe (9/5): Lazy Tiki was a delightful surprise—tastefully designed rooms and garden, excellent food, and an attentive host make for - Philippe, the host; delicious home cooked meals; friendly, accommodating staff; cosy rooms with large shower and separate toilet; garden and pool Nothing
- Hiro (10/5): Superb - Hospitality of owner and staff,
simple and clean room. None
- meyenkev (10/5): Most excellent place to unwind, have peace and quiet, good food and good people. - The Lazy Tiki is a wonderful place to unwind, have beautiful surroundings and peace and quiet. You will enjoy the view of the ocean, the lovely pool, Philippe's culinary creations, a lovely breakfast, and ease in accessing the nearby town. We stayed in the very wonderful bungalow room; support staff Carlo and Julia were most kind and helpful! The direction of the wind at this time of year made for a not very smooth beach but this did not really affect our experience which was wonderful.

- Frances (7/5): Pleasant good quality little guesthouse with wonderful swimming pool - The room was large clean and comfortable. Good hot shower. Nice veranda with good comfortable chairs. The pool was excellent with a nice shaded area beside for reading/relaxing. The garden was very pretty and well designed. The breakfasts were good with a nice variety of unusual fruits each day.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The food wasn’t as good as we had expected from previous reviews. And the portions were very small. Perhaps the cook was away when we were there?
The beach area was littered with rubbish including broken glass so not pleasant to use. And it was only a short stretch so you couldn’t walk far.
But the surrounding countryside is very pretty. Definitely worth renting a scooter to explore!
- Lucien (9/5): - Het eten was voortreffelijk.
- Rowena (9/5): Amazing.. Definitely worth recommending to Our family & friends - Cleanliness, Peaceful. The Owner “Phillip” and staffs Kuya Carlo & Ate Juliana were so friendly and Accommodating. Good food, Overall will surely coming back😉💯 Not much to say here really
- Nikko (9/5): - I like the warm welcome of the staff, very accommodating. The breakfast is always superb for me. Not that I don't like but this is an opportunity for improvement, they put a coffee, creamer and sugar inside the room but no electric kettle and i cannot make my coffee. That's all
- Manuel (10/5): - Has direct access to beach .. wonderful breakfast and amazing host Nothing that i dont like
- Lyndha Grace (10/5): Great place to unwind. - The owners were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Rooms and amenities are clean. Breakfast was really good, with fruits freshly picked from the backyard. The passion fruit juice was especially nice and a real highlight. The secluded location may be a bit tricky to reach by public transport, but it’s perfect for unwinding and escaping the hustle and bustle of the city.
- Jen (10/5): -
- Jack Bote (9/5): - Owner Phillip and his family is very nice and accomodating including the staff. Breakfast is also great
(10/5): - This place is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Philips and his family provide almost everything you could need, clean and comfortable rooms, suggestions for things to do, amazing food, and even help with getting around the island. Their great taste shows in all the lovely thoughful little details, and it’s a warm, welcoming home… with a happy cat Matcha!
- Bernd (10/5): It was a great stay and we are sure to come back. Not more to write :-) -
- Mark Vincent (9/5): We were happy with our stay and will come back to escape everything for a few days. - The owners were surprisingly very friendly and accommodating as we did not have any expectation of what the facilities were in the B and B. They opened up their lives with their stories and how they settled in the area which we found very interesting. The food was amazing and was beyond our expectation. With regard to the proposition of the resort, it achieved its goal of being a small bed and breakfast where people can relax and get away from everything else. We were pleasantly happy with our stay in Lazy Tiki. Situated in a very secluded area in the island we were caught by surprise with how we had to depend on the B and B to take us anywhere. Public transport was not available so we had to hire the resort's private vehicle to get anywhere. Other establishments like restaurants and stores were also kilometers away as well so we had to depend on the B and B for this.
- Jose Babiera (10/5): Just what I needed - There is nothing not to like! Location was peaceful, secluded, beachfront. The room had a huge bathroom. The pool was a pleasant addition. The food was superb. But the hospitality was what made the place so special...from Filip, the manager, to both his parents, Josey (the cook), Carlo... everyone just went above and beyond to make our stay special. Noise from construction...but it didn't bother me that much.
- Peter (9/5): This place is perfect for a couple or small group who just want to chill and eat great food! - 1. The meals. Breakfast was great, dinner was next level French-Filipino cuisine!
2. The swimming pool, naturally heated was like a bathtub. Delightful.
3. The serenity. Not a swimming beach, but the view of mangroves and back across the water to Iloilo was lovely.
4. There aren’t so many Tikis, lazy or otherwise, as the name might suggest! It’s at the far corner of the island, so a fair hike to see sights!
- Barry (10/5): Clean, quiet and remote. Sweet people. - Right on the beach! The pool was pristine. The maintenance and landscaping of the place was excellent. The personal touch at meal times was amazing. Phillip was helpful and his parents were the sweetest people ever. Quiet and serene. You don’t want to show up here without transportation. Not really a walkable area, but you can rent a scooter with some advance notice. The Tuk Tuk driver provided by the hotel has a bit of an attitude sometimes.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb - Very friendly helpful staff. Philippe the owner and the other staff went out of their way to help you. Lovely location. Pool excellent and beach clean if a little shallow for swimming. Only comment was water pump on roof above room noisy when it shuts off. Sometimes this comes on every few minutes.
- Jake (7/5): Good - Hot shower and hot water in the lavatory. Juliana and Carlo were very friendly and accomodating. No television. Nice pool. Beautiful private beach that was cleaned daily. Juliana's cooking. No television- we were there for 5 days, the first 2 with no TV were kinda nice, then it started to suck. Horrible wifi, might as well say they don't have wifi. Food was on the pricy side and there is nowhere nearby to go. Beach was pretty but I wouldn't swim there.
- Sonja (10/5): Exceptional - The place is one of the best I stayed in. It‘s the perfect place to wind down. Everything is clean, the shared common spaces are cozy and every little corner has been decorated with love. The breakfast was amazing! They served homemade jams, freshly cooked eggs and anlog of fresh fruit as well as homemade juice. Staff was amazingly friendly.
- Paula (8/5): A relaxing stay in a well presented property with fantastic food - It was well furnished and had everything we needed. The food was excellent and Philippe was extremely helpful. The pool area was great!
- A (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (10/5): Paradise in Guimaras - The Lazy Tiki is a reason in of itself to visit the island of Guimaras. If you love peace, nature and are passionate about delicious food with quality ingredients this place is for you. After 5 weeks in the Philippines this was exactly what we needed. We had the budget room which was very comfortable and had everything you needed. What makes this place so special is the hosts, Phillipe and his family are so warm and welcoming, you feel at home the minute you arrive. They have great stories about their life in the Philippines and back in France. The breakfast, lunches and dinner every evening was some of the best food we had in the Philippines. It was local food with a French twist using quality ingredients. The pool area is so relaxing as is the beautiful garden. The beach is wild/rustic which was perfect for us to walk along and enjoy the nature. The location is out of the way which is what makes it so special but it's easy to get a trike from Buenavista port or Phillipe will arrange a pickup at a good price. You don't need to leave for food (you won't get any better food anywhere in the Philippines at this price) and there is hot/cold water freely available with drinks to purchase if you need. You can organise some day trips to various places on the island at a reasonable price, we had an island hopping trip near the mangroves on a weekday and we were the only ones around. If you want to get off the tourist trail and experience an island which is still relatively untouched by mass tourism; this place is for you. Having to leave!
- Scharfenberg (7/5): Great hospitality, bad location. - Very nice people, exceptional service and hospitality. They made a gluten free tiramisu for us! They really do go above and beyond and are very friendly! Breakfast is was excellent.
The room was clean and comfortable, with probably the best shower we had on our travels. The location ist far from everything and there is nothing to do but chill. There is a beach but it’s sad and dirty and rough (no swimming). There was construction right next to the small pool, so we would mostly stay on the terrace. Construction was a bit noisy, they were building a new house for the reception.
- Walter (10/5): Great place to be ....5 star is not enough to give - The host is the best I ever seen. Best breakfast and dinner. Great by taste and value. Amazing. Relaxing place. Nice to be there. Small bathroom
- Lutz (10/5): Exceptional multi cultural hosts - The Lazy Tiki is located at the northern part of Guimaras island. The owners are a very friendly Filipino/French family. We felt like being part. The offered cuisine is outstanding, encompassing the best of both cultures. Deep, educated conversations at dinner times about land and culture were exceptionally uplifting. They are also offering touring service for the whole island with an experienced young local driver which we took advantage of for sightseeing and island hopping. We liked everything.
- Careglio (10/5): Beautiful b&b - you'll feel at home - Philippe, his parents and staff are very welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel at home at their place by keeping you company and making you feel part of the family. The place is peaceful, the view immersed in nature and the food they serve home cooked and delicious.
- Journeytoanepiclife (10/5): GREAT FOOD! PEACEFUL RESORT! - The food is incredible! For less than 500 we got a full course meal that tastes more than we paid for. The owner, Philip is very nice and accomodating. Ate Juliana who served us (and also the cook) is warm and taught us about the trees, vines and fruits that is around the resort. Speaking of which, Lazy Tiki is abundant in fruits and trees. Their dogs are so sweet and looks well taken care for. Sky is very sweet :) We also got a cheap service to Buenavista wharf and a side trip to nearby landmarks. Highly recommended! Couldn't think of anything. We needed rest from our busy city life and we got more than that.
- Ellen (8/5): Peace amd very quiet - Warm people and swimming pool and food No TV, the beach is not enticing
- Joann (9/5): It was a very pleasant experience. Thanks to Philip and team - clean, very exclusive, personalized food preparation! Very comfy bedrooms and wash area
100% highly recommended Suggestions:
Signage to be more visible
Lights on in the gate area
- Maskofchina (9/5): Very comfortable stay, wonderful food and conversation but a bit remote. - Wonderful family hosting us. The food was excellent, the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable and the garden and seating area was beautiful. Location was hard to reach and there was not much in the area in the way of activities or restaurants.
- Christer (9/5): Superb - absolutely unbelievably nice and relaxed, and the host family was fantastic and the food so good.
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sohrab (10/5): C’est magnifique - Amazing place, thanks to the warmth and hospitality of the owners who treated us like family. Thank you Philippe and the family No complaints
- Zsolt (8/5): We’ll come back again. - Very clean and quiet place, owned by a lovely french-filipina couple. Breakfast is included and has a rich sortiment of fresh fruits and delicious filipino and international dishes. We spent two nights there and feel happy and relaxed.
- Peter (10/5): Great place to come down, enjoy luxury nature and a quiet place - Such a nice place to be, cosy to be, nice staff and extraordinary service in all Little hard to reach, street to g there isn’t really a street 😉
- Ariate (7/5): Good -
- Jay (10/5): Wonderful peace and quiet - We spent 6 days at the Lazy Tiki and had 3 meals a day. The food was delicious local recipes, many of which we will make ourselves once back home. It is pretty secluded and quiet - exactly what we wanted. We could read and simply relax without anyone disturbing us. The sounds of frogs, crickets and birds were an extra plus while the hundreds of dragonflies during the day and fireflies at night were the cherry on the cake. Philippe and his team are very eco-conscious with no sign of any plastic around. Refreshing. It did not bother me but a heads up for those looking for a swimming beach: one can swim off the private beach only at high tide.
- Glebsmirnov (10/5): Exceptional - All great! Philippe is an amazing host and his family very nice and helpful too. Food are excellent and delicious, especially for abroad travellers - cooks are French men. Rooms are very comfortable, made with a lot of taste and have a sea view. Beautiful place for lazy rest with gourmet cuisine several days after long islands hopping! It's a bit hard to find the place - we goes by trike and it was a bit hard with small local roads. so it may be better to ask hosts to meet you at a pier
