Guest Reviews
- Thinus (8/5): - I think they could charge us a little less and then after the booking when I phoned to open the gate they asked me what I'm doing there so they didn't know about the booking bud other wise it was ok
- Susanna (3/5): A disaster, not worth the expenses of replacing a window - Interesting decor Reception DIFFICULT TO FIND
No receipt given for Payment,or change.
Breaking into my motorvehicle,
No legal support offered, staf aggressive, would not allow me to take my clothes out of the cubord. Started shouting at me,
- Lethabo (7/5): -
- Karabo (7/5): Peaceful - I loved the outdoor setting , very refreshing and peaceful. The coffee cups , plates and cutlery were not so clean . I didn’t anticipate the place to not have an operating kitchen as it wasn’t written on their review or their website.

- Madiseng (10/5): Clive the manager was very kind and always available when we needed something. Will definitely come back - Beautiful aesthetics, and very peaceful There was no hot water and the room had this uncomfortable smell
- Smith (5/5): - Garden is beautifull and have potential for a very mystical feel. Room also nice.
Host was nice and helpfull. There is sadly more than 1 problem ... room did not feel like ours ... there was someones shoes and clothing in the 1 closet with i did not like. I am sure there are other room being to only guest but got one in reception where there was only 1 window and its to the communal tea area. There was an outdoor shower but no light. Been extreme hard and no fan (i am sorry but what you supplied was not a fan) when doing anything in the bathroom anyone in reception can hear it clearly. No 2 point plugs ? We had to ask (your black extention plug is also broken)... try making coffee ... when kettle is hot you have to squeeze into the space to unplug so you can poore the water ?
These are small things that can be looked at.... but when a host ask a guest if he will fit into the hallway space to go to the main bed ... not nice !
Family room .... usualy means you go there with small children . How do we keep their milk and snacks fresh with no fridge?
Then we walking to our room when we got back from out day out or leaving early to the airport ... there was no lights ... pitch dark. I did fall down with my 3 year old.
- Milgrand (10/5): Unique property with excellent service. - The location is stunning, with lots of greenery, a personal and artistic touch, all well considered and truly one of a kind.
The staff is also exceptional and were always available to help with a smile.
9 out of 10 dentists would recommend 😂✨ Booking confirmation was unclear but was clarified once I called the number provided with the booking. To be fair I did book as I was going there so still a credit to them.
- Robert (10/5): Excellent value for money, friendly host. - Nothing is too much trouble for the excellent host Clive. Also had a hot stone massage in the Spa which was one of the best I have ever had.

- Thandeka (1/5): Unprofessional Service and Poor Guest Experience - The rooms are spacious Unprofessional Service and Poor Guest Experience
Customer service at Duck and Dive was disappointing. As a public relations professional, I would not recommend this venue to family or friends. There was an issue with backup power during a power cut, which completely defeated the purpose of my stay—to study for an important exam in a peaceful, uninterrupted environment.
To make matters worse, the manager actually asked me to drive him to the garage to buy petrol for the generator. Imagine dealing with work exhaustion, school pressure, and looking forward to a bit of comfort—only to be burdened with someone else's responsibilities. That moment alone was incredibly unprofessional and unacceptable.
I checked out the very next day because I simply couldn't risk more disruptions, especially with exams looming. Paid R1800 and received a R600 refund, If you could read my conversations with the manager, you’d understand just how poorly the situation was handled.
I strongly urge the establishment to improve its customer service and approach to service recovery. If a guest expresses dissatisfaction due to legitimate service failures, they should be refunded promptly and respectfully—without added stress.
- Metlhape (8/5): Very good - Such a cute environment and the host was communicative.
- Kagiso (6/5): Pleasant - Options to choose our room, the manager's attitude, the environment I wish they install TVs in rooms, minor repairs and invest in curtains to ensure privacy

Lovely staff Clive made us feel very welcomed. Nothing
- Bikokuhle (5/5): We enjoyed ourselves - 1. The privacy and mini courtyard.
2. The art all over makes it feel like a gallery 1. The yard is not well kept
2. Rooms are not well ventilated and some have an stuffy odour.
3.There is no lighting in the common walk ways
4. No fridge to store some items

- Willien (10/5): A different amazing stay over - This was a different experience felt like travelling back in time ...the old days...theres so much to see and taking a walk through the gardens ...so much colours and old stuff put together.
The food was good and the staff very friendly we felt at home
Will definitely go back there just to experience it all over again.
- Dewalt (3/5): If you are on a budget this place is great value for money. Definitely not on the clean or modern side by any standard. - The price was very reasonable but upon check in I could understand why. The coffee was expired and rock solid, milk sour, bed hard with no support, quite dirty and overall not the neatest place l've stayed in.
- Happiness (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalie (9/5): Superb -
- Angus (10/5): Wonderful stay in a very unique setting, definitely worth a second visit. - A very unique and beautiful venue. Great value for money and very comfortable. Such a great manager! It is a bit out of the way, but still definitely worth the long drive.
- Violet (1/5): Bad - Nothing The room was not cleaned properly, and the bed was not comfortable at all. The towels looked old.
- Christell (5/5): Passable -
- Rhodes2025 (10/5): Duck and Dine? One for the books and an epic medieval adventure.. - It was an epic adventure, 1 January 2025. I even forgot I was a city girl. The interior design is stunning, like a scene in a classic movie. I welcomed 2025 on a high, just what I needed to relax my body and mind. My boyfriend came to see me there, although for a short while, he sang the Picasso inspired interior, praises. My son loved the spooky stairs, reminded him of Harry Porter. We ate, bonded, played board games, walked around the beautiful greenery, hung out on the patio...and and. The owner was super friendly. The place gets 8 out of ten nods from me.. Zandile Mnisi LaMvuleni The restaurant was not operational due to it being a public holiday. Zandile Mnisi LaMvuleni

- Lesedi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Enver (1/5): Bad - Quite peaceful surroundings. The staff and lack of service,
It was a very hot 35°C+ weekend and the manager offered us storage of our goods in their freezer they use for events and insured us its very secured and nobody would take it, the next day we discovered our goods were missing, eventually we found that the staff took all off it, it was replaced by the manager the next day.
There were staff around on Saturday and we needed our rooms tableware and cutlery to be washed, i did ask a staff member at the entrance and she pointed me towards the kitchen where i ended up washing my dishes myself and the very next day as well because there was nobody there.
The next day after leaving i received a message from the manager asking me to check my luggage maybe i packed their towels in by accident because the staff found no towels in our room, We packed our own towels for the trip therefore we didn't bother to ask for towels, however i did take 1 towel from the Spar area for us use next to the shower to dry our feet.
My lesson is to report anything you see wrong to management, but i wont be seeing this place any time soon.

The noise from people walking in the area above. The ceiling was wooden board and anybody moving above could be heard ..and it was loud.

- Tshitso (10/5): It was ok, we got to rest and actually love that we were surrounded by so many trees and we could hear birds chipping 😌. - I liked the water mill, really really loved that. Sounds of water falls in different areas of the yard. Yeah garden is stunning, I got great pictures in that area ☺️
I must say the WI-FI was very stable throughout our stay no complains 😌. Also they have backed up power in case of loadshedding 👌🏾. I wasn’t pleased about the bathroom at all from the water pressure which I thought the issue was the shower heads 🚿 also the biggest disappointment is that the is no shower curtain in the room we choose. The toilet water pressure also not great. Bath towels were too fluffy, they leave fluff on your whole body 🙁.
The bath tub doesn’t drain water quick enough.
- Kato (5/5): Venue easy to reach. but need a serious maintenance and cleanliness. - No breakfast was served. Dirt
- Elme (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was really nice. There was so much thought put into the decor. There's a mall close by
- Joseph (6/5): Pleasant -
- Zelnè (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carla (4/5): Not the Best - The staf is friendly No Hot water.
the Tv has no remote . and no one tells you the wifi passord or how the tv works.
No mirror in the room to get dressed with. or to get ready.
Bath was a bit dirty when arrived.
Whennyou flush theres not enough water.
Not enought lights when you walk from parking to room at night. place is not maintained outside looks bushy and lost.
Need to walk trough the other persons property to get to yours where you stay.
No door between the outside where your room is and where you go in to the wedding reception and messge area.
Only reason we chose this place was it was near another wedding venue and couldn't get anything else . will not go to Duck and Dine again
- Anonymous (1/5): We did not even stay the night due to the place being dirty... - N/A Room was not clean, bedding was still dirty..
Spa bath, the normal bath and shower was disgusting....
- Tuduetso (9/5): It was good. Very unique. Loved it - The deco and style of the place The dust in the shower and couldn't see TV from the bed
- Nkosikhona (10/5): Highly recommend! - Clive. So friendly, so sweet. The greenery. It's really great! People like my hubby will sneeze for the entire duration. Please bring allergex and a mask because dust is kind of built into what you are getting here.
