Guest Reviews
- Logistics (6/5): The rooms and decor were excellent bt you need to improve on food - All the meals were not good at all esecially breakfast the other day people had to wait for others to finish drinking tea because there were no coffee mugs, no milk aaah we were not happy at all. Everything about the kitchen was not pleasant at all.
- A tengerparti elhelyezkedése, emeleti szoba volt, a belső medence. Szóban és írásban is megígérték a reptéri transzfert, mégsem küldték.
Piscine
Personnel très sympathique
Repas de bonne qualité
- Patou (10/5): -
- Taa2000 (5/5): Passable - The property is right on the beach. It is very close to many restaurants on the beach and some local restaurants just behind the property. Small local markets are close. Friendly and helpful receptionist. Friendly stuff in restaurant. Nice fresh juice for breakfast. Pool is dirty, people, assuming employees there or friends of them were swimming in the pool with their clothes on. Most definitely they were not guests in hotel, as we were only 6 guests, which I know their faces 😄 We were looking for property with a pool, because we knew about the low tides in Jambiani. So there are plenty of much cheaper and better options on the beach, without a pool. Unfortunately we didn't know that the pool would be not useful because of the dirt.
Breakfast was the same every day.
We ordered lunch once from their restaurant and the food was completely cold.
Bungalow is very small, no shelf or closet. The lights went on in the middle of the night in the room when generator turned on. The only option to avoid that was taking out the bulb every evening. No wifi in bungalow.
You share the entrance terase with guests of the other bungalow.
- Ahmada (10/5): Exceptional - frendly and amazing staff, they clean room everyday, they have orphanage center, and to there to visit the children is free, i had a wonderful time, i enjoyed the food, thanks to all staff. the sea view room the waves was nice and make bumping noise
- Gitte (1/5): Horrible, absolutely disguisting. - When we checken in we did not get the accommodaties we booked and paid for. In stead of the bungalow we were put up at the building facing the ocean. A disgusting filthy bathroom. The window did not lock. The fridge in the room was horrible an filthy and did not work.
The entire property was nothing like the pics. These were probably 20 years old.
In the evening there were two Afrikans in our bedroom without knocking First. Unacceptable.
In the morning there was a nasty breakfast buffet with cold potatoes, cold eggs and Some old fruit pieces. Nothing fresh/warm. When we made our complaints above the things mentioned. We were told to come back the next day for the manager. When we returned the manager was not there. They were reluctant to phone him. We demanded our money back for the remainder of 3 nights.
They told us to contact booking.com and They would give us our money back.
Unfortunately booking has to give the host 5 days to respond which They never did.
Do not book at this place. They are scam artists. We never recieved our money back.
Horrible place, filthy and worn down.
- George (9/5): Superb -
- Safa (9/5): Superb - The staff were super-friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Local breakfast was tasty 10/10
Location 10/10 No tv in room
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly helpful staff
Excellent location right on the beach
- Naazma (4/5): Disappointing -
- Victoria (9/5): Superb -
- Lauren (6/5): Okay, good location but needs updating - Good location directly on the beach, spacious rooms that were kept very clean by the housekeeper. Frequent and very long lasting power cuts meant that we spent hours at night without lights and, as the electricity pumps the water, couldn't take a shower or flush the toilet. Or have fans/AC/WiFi. Power cuts are a common issue in Zanzibar but to not even have a generator to pump water was new for us and uncomfortable at the end of a sweaty and salty day.
No safe
Breakfast was very basic, lots of bread/cake, some fruit and boiled eggs. No juice or water most mornings, only tea/coffee.
The hotel, particularly around the (green) pool could do with some basic maintenance as it's looking very shabby.
- Ibrahim (8/5): Very good -
- Muzaffer (10/5): Exceptional - Staffs were excellent Rooms had no wardrobes facility
- Matthias (10/5): No-brainer: Amazing value for money!!! -
- Kruger (7/5): Lots of potensial - We loved the pool, the aircon was ok. Had fridge in room. Accessibility to village behind resort for cheaper drinks and excursions. We visited the Lost Sole bar on the beach and loved it. There are lots of restaurants in the area. There are a lot of electricity issues. Staff do not really understand English. Water pressure in rooms not great. The rooms are not really clean to our standards, soap scum on taps, hair in shower etc. People selling trips VERY ANNOYING on the beach! Please replace the pillows.
- George (8/5): Very good -
- Mukuna (3/5): Bad people - The rooms were spacious, and the beds big The food, service, and staff were terrible. At some point, there was no water to use. No mirrors in the rooms. The ocean water came beyond the property and onto the walk areas, therefore flooding the place, rendering it impermeable.
The property also charged us two times and has refused to refund the extra funds to us one month later despite acknowledgement of the double payment and a promise to make the refund 2 weeks ago.
- Sello (5/5): Good and friendly staff but no shower glass. Water gets spilled all over. - The swimming pool Showers don't have glass. You spill water all over
- Gavin76 (6/5): Pleasant - Location was beautiful No kettle or tv in room
Had to ask for towels
Got 2 year old but couldn't make milk or hot drink for wouldn't stay here again food very expensive
Best thing we're the staff
- Ahmed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hansa (8/5): Very good -
- Sylvain (7/5): Good -
- Erin (9/5): Superb - Good value. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the pool and the warm ocean water. Please know that the ocean has significant tides here so you cannot swim at low tide.
- Edwin (8/5): The perfect rustic homely getaway experience. A great value for your investment. - The staff was so hospitable. They also were really lovely to my wife and I and my in-laws as we did a family-moon after our wedding. The Hotel made sure our rooms were decorated with romantic messages! I believe the food options and the entertainment could improve. There were times when items on the menu weren't available. The kitchen staff was lovely and welcoming but we always felt like we had to go elsewhere to find the food we wanted.
- Mirela (7/5): Old hotel, but comfortable. On the beach. I am satisfacted. -
- Radhika (10/5): Amazing - The breakfast was excellent. Staff were super nice and helpful. It is a bit far from town so your movement around is limited.
- Elyes (10/5): Exceptional - Very calm
Friendly staff Always helping
Nice rooms Nothing
- Robert (4/5): Disappointing - Location....though there's practically no way of getting into the sea due to constant low tide, or sea weed It an old, rusty, unkept place
- Rennan (8/5): Very good -
- Lednar (7/5): Good - Right on the beach, but beach can be nicer. No possible to swim afternoon because of big low tide. Good breakfast, friedly staff on reception. Nice pool They can maintaine all area little bit more.
- Salum (10/5): Excellent beach front property!!🤩 - The location is very excellent (beach front hotel). My room was a beach front room..The staff were a-bit slow but very good at what they do… everything was perfect!👌🏾 they just need more options on breakfast buffet Nothing
- Alain (7/5): Good - The menu was poor and there is not alcohol
- Mugisha (8/5): Very good -
- Mvenge (6/5): Pleasant -
- Evgenia (7/5): Good - We liked the location- on the beach. We liked the swimming pool and the beautiful garden. The rooms were spacious with lovely view. The area is nice and peaceful. Most of the people working in the property were kind and nice. The first day we arrived from Nungwi at the time specified for accommodation. The room was not ready and we had to wander around for a few hours. Then there wasn"t hot water to fresh ourselves. Later it appeared the air conditioner is not working properly. It was switched on 16 C, but worked like a fan..not cooling. So it was horrible especially in the evenings. I think the managers shouldn' include this item in their advertisement at all!! It's not working.
- Agnes (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jonathan (7/5): Great location and a brilliant pool! - We enjoyed a 5 night stay with our 3 children at Visitor's Inn. It is in a brilliant location, right on the beach and along the stretch where there are many other hotels and restaurants. The hotel is very clean and the room was large for our family of 5. The pool and beach were the two main selling points for us, as well as the good food that we enjoyed for an evening meal one night.
Although the hotel is quite large, it was always pretty quiet around the pool and in the evenings. We really enjoyed our time away at Visitor's Inn and would definitely recommend it to other families. The air conditioning in the room was very ineffective and made sleeping at night quite difficult. We did report it but it seemed there was an issue with the hotel generator. We also had a few times where there was no water in the bathroom, due to an issue with the pump.
- Raymond (6/5): was okay - Breakfast, some of the stuff were excellent fan and AC but was told the issue with electricity in Zanzibar
One staff showed to care on white guest than fellow Tanzania as address very important
- Hallowell (8/5): We’d definitely go back to the visitors inn, despite the simple rooms. - The location is ideal, right on the beach with a beautiful pool and attractive restaurant. The staff was great, and we loved being in Jambiani The room itself was very basic, with some staining on the ceiling/walls, and nowhere to unpack a suitcase.
- Miqdad (9/5): Based on the facilities, location and price this is one of the best places - excellent location - private access to the beech which was my biggest plus point - good value for money - the best pool in the area (based on size and cleanliness) - very friendly staff - presence of owner at the property gives the extra touch - great to hear that some of the profits from this property go towards funding a local orphanage the property could do with some renovation but then again it's current price based on location clearly outweighs this downside
- Zeindolski (8/5): Very good -
- Ana (8/5): It was a great stay.. we watched the kite surfing, did night swimming in the pool, & walked on the l - Our room is close to the beach. The food was authentic. The receptionist was helpful and prompt when you ask for help... The location is not on the main road so you have to go inside with the bumpy roads.
- Zeindolski (8/5): Very good -
- Paula (9/5): Superb -
- Nonkululeko (4/5): We started our stay very badly we were expecting a shuttle to fetch us and we were stranded at the - Breakfast was very poor serving the same food everyday wish they could serve more protein in their breakfast and it could be nice if they served some cereal Put in wardrobes in the rooms fridge and kettle for boiling water some tea bags coffee sugar and milk
- Je (3/5): Poor - Good wifi some places, location Very dated, hotel crying for renovation, unfriendly staff in the restaurant, mold ind the rooms, no hot water, only cold, ooooverpriced restaurant, no wardrobes in the rooms.
- Je (3/5): Poor - Location is good as the most Beach location in Zanzibar. Cleaning staff doing the job, rooms was cleaned every day. Good wi fi in the rooms, but not in all locations. Best vegetable samosas i have tasted. Late check out was possible with no extra fee. Very basic and dated, need a lot of emprovements, staff in the restaurant don’t know what they are doing, we felt unwelcome all the days. All the hotel needs renovating and change of staff. Restaurant is overpriced, pizza margarita etc costs 28,000 tzs compared to 12-16,000tzs every other restaurants. And tastes like frozen one from Tesco..
- Yasir (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly
- Mo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erasmos (9/5): Superb -
- Teferi (5/5): Passable - Good location, nice swimming pool and beach view The rooms were not ventilated, doors were old and hard to lock. The shower heads had stains, the bathrooms need maintenance. No cup boards in the rooms
- Slavomira (5/5): Passable - Staff was friendly and helpfull.Swimmingpool was very nice, nice beach in front of the hotel.Tasty food but allways the same. Mosqitonets have a lot of holes. No furniture at all.
- Sofia (10/5): Beyond extraordinary!!! - Me and my family planned to stay here just a few nights but ended up staying 22 nights! The bad reviews this hotel had historically definitely deserves an update because we totally fell inlove with this hotel that had everything we could have asked for and more! Before we came here, we stayed in several other hotels that were much more expensive, with less facilities (TV, functioning Aircondition, breakfast buffet, wifi in the rooms, refrigerator, hot water in the showers etc.) and did not have a complex as large as this.
In this hotel the rooms were big and clean, every room had wifi, aircondition and a refrigerator, the complex were safe with guards, the pool were superclean with a poolguy working day and night, the food was affordable and delicious, the staff were service oriented and totally fantastic! This is a very friendly hotel especially for families- it´s soo peaceful and we all had the time of our lifes! Our son had so much fun with the staff that invited him to play, run, laugh and feel free as a child. This made us parents feel safe and relaxed as well. We know alot of hotels that doesn´t appreciate kids which can be exhausting. We never had the feeling and urge to control our son, keep him silent and look for him 24/7 because the hotel were very safe and friendly. The feeling was instead that all the adults (the staff and we as parents) were a team, got together and helped eachother out. This experience was completely different in contrast to other hotels! Another great thing was the location. The hotel, which is right on the beach gives you plenty of choices, a range of food, activities and nearby excursions. Our favourite activity nearby was the white, crystal sandbank- you don´t want to miss this gem!
In conclusion- this hotel is the reason why we definitely want to go back in the future. Thank you Visitors Inn for an unforgettable trip! We love you // Mohamed, Sofia and Malik
- Vijay (1/5): they need to change whole management - just property is good located but staffs are very rude, no proper menu for breakfast, lunch and Dinner…
no electricity, no water, room are not proper clean, in bathroom showers are broken, toilet seat viver broken, receptionists are very rude… staffs, fecilities
- Alice (8/5): Very good - Big rooms with sea view Be warned it's an alcohol free hotel so no beer for sale.
- Karama (9/5): Superb -
- Petrosan (10/5): Exceptional - Good food, beautiful location, nice pool and stunning ocean front Bed sheets are not so soft, especially after sunburn.
- Yousuf (4/5): Beware when booking, you will not get the room you booked. - The resort was on the beach, there were a few restaurants along the beach that were quite good, there is also a supermarket right outside the hotel main gate which is convenient. The rooms were large. Be careful when booking this hotel l, I booked a sea facing room but was not given one l, Ahmed the receptionist promised me a sea facing room the next day but didn't deliver, everyday he said tomorrow or would not respond. We spent 6 nights and paid for a sea facing room but did not get one. The pictures are deceiving the rooms were large but not up to standard. The bathroom has an awful smell and no shower door, so if you showered the entire bathroom got wet. The towels were not clean. The pool is fine and well looked after.
Breakfast was very poor, if they are busy you might not get eggs or fruit, there is a very limited breakfast offer, the juice got finished on 2 of the days we were there. So don't expect much.
Overall I would not stay there again
- Barry (7/5): Good -
- Holmes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kavayi (9/5): Superb - From the moment we arrived, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our early arrival was not an issue because they provided a temporary for half the day until we could properly check in. Everyone took the time to learn our names which was a nice touch. The staff were also helpful with organizing our activities. We felt right at home in the bungalows, which were cleaned every day during our stay. We also loved our room's proximity to the ocean, being able to sleep and wake up to the sound of ocean waves on the beach is always soothing. Towards the end of our week long stay, the restaurant menu started feeling limited with options. Some dessert options were consistently not available, and their beef supply ran out
- Stefan (9/5): Superb -
- Serhii (1/5): I will never stay in that hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone! - unfortunately nothing…. upon check-in, we were settled in rooms much cheaper and without paid conditions, in a room for one person there were 3 beds and one small table. the air conditioner didn't work, the mosquito net was full of holes, no shower accessories, horrible work team who lied to us for 2 days. in the end, we moved to another hotel, requested a refund for unused days, we were denied, they are not even afraid of the police. the hotel is muslim, there is no alcohol in the bar, the bartender doesn't even know how to make coffee, the service is at level 0. the bartender reads the instructions for preparing drinks (bartender with more than 2 years experience)
- Karlee (5/5): Passable -
- Francisco (1/5): A Hotel to get away! - The location. HORRIBLE!
when we arrived at the hotel they told us that they had a problem with one guest that was gone for two days and left his things in the room that was suposed to be ours. So They told us that the day after everything would be ok. They proposed us to go to another hotel to spend the night.
We were not happy, but ok, we were patient and went to another hotel.
The day after we arrived by taxi with another lady with two kids and we realized that she also had the same problem the day before in Visitor's Inn.
We went to the reception and the story was the same, they didn't had rooms for us. They were lying all the time without admiting that they had OVERBOOKED THE ROOMS.
We got very upset, arguing that we needed a room and that they were ruining our vacations!
Suddendly arrived a big group of guests and They didn't had rooms for them either! It was an unbelieveble situation.
In the end, we had to find a room for us talking to the housekeepers and we ocupied one room that was available!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!
service below zero, food was disgusting, rooms old and mouldy and the managing of this Hotel was simply a caos.
I've be traveling around the world with booking.com and never had a situation like this.
This Hotel should be banned from booking.com
- Fada (5/5): the stuff are very polite and always smiling - The rooms was very clean and the view of the rooms are beautiful the ac is not that good it didn’t work properly most of the time
- Krisztián (7/5): Good - the location and the price the flow in the bathroom is slipery. the remote controller for the air condition was not working. only the half of the beach beds had matraces. berrs was not served in the restaurant. the breakfast was not efficiently supplied.
- Jocelyn (8/5): Very good -
- Mia (5/5): Passable - The facilities were fine even though it did not match the description. Got 2 beds instead of 3 beds and only one of them was 200 cm. No sitting furniture, nothing for the clothes. Service level - Welcome to Africa. Not at all comparable with other places in Zanzibar 2022, rather Zanzibar in the 90's.
Had to ask for everything (one pillow each, one towel each, new roll of toilett paper etc).
Staff in the restaurant did not see when plates etc was missing. Mixed up the orders, serving wrong dishes. Had to wait 90 min for a pizza.
Do not buy package with lunch/dinner inkluded!
- Willie (3/5): Poor -
- Watson (8/5): Very friendly staff and nice facilities - The food was very nice and well cooked.
The fruits excellent.
Staff and people around were very friendly.
Value for money.
Pool was very clean. The road to get to the hotel is very bad and not clear.
The beds or mattress not comfortable.
No wardrobes to pack clothes.
- Landescape_viagens (1/5): NEVER AGAIN. - Nothing. Never again We had a reservation for 9 People for months. We are a travel agency. Just 20 minutes before our arrival, they wrote us through WhatsApp saying they got wrong, and have our rooms to other guests (probably they paid an higher price) and had no rooms for us. It was 31st of December, new years eve. Not professional at all, as all the places were fully booked and we were 9 People. We called them and it seems they were drunk. Upon our arrival, we had big discussion and we had to leave the guests there and found another place to stay, that was really really difficult. Not professional at all. Never again
- Tomfam (4/5): Disappointing - Pool and beach were good.
Staff was friendly but service slow. Food, too many carbs at every meal. Not enough proteins or veggies. You need to arrive early for scheduled meals as food runs out without being timely refilled, only carbs refilled regularly.
Wifi doesnt work.
Room doesnt have closet or space for clothes, tv, good lighting, drinking water, good faning system. Also bathroom didnt have shower curtain creating huge mess after every shower. Nothing to help clean it up.
Pool area doesnt have enough seat cushions.
- Pbv (4/5): Amazing beach and Pool / Hotel itself not so good. - the Beach and the swim pool. is not clean att all. realy they are not good to clean, rooms, restaurant, around pool, nothing at all.
- Halima (1/5): I ask them to reserve the beach front room and they reply, I was so happy but surprised when reached to the hotel, they - food they overbooked our room and took somewhere else which is not worth it our money, the room was small. insect all over no beach front as we requested.
inshort bad communication

- Gunnar (4/5): Disappointing -
- Joffrey (7/5): Good -
- Mohamed (5/5): Passable -
- Steph (7/5): Good - location was great in the middle of the village. The bedroom was also a great surprise, booked two single beds and had a huge room with 2 queen sized beds. mattresses were firm and bed very comfortable which was great as often they are very soft. The bathroom looked tired and drains smelt after the first day. Mosquito nets needed replaced as full of large holes, luckily very few mosquitos. Restaurant was empty the whole time we were there so never sure if they served food. Breakfast had a large range of food but was all cold and cooked in advance. would have preferred a smaller range of items and cooked to order as it often wasn’t at its best having been cooked 3 hours prior ie toast and pancakes.
- Yasir (10/5): Exceptional - The Guy at the restaurant named Yasir was so helpful.
- Martin (10/5): Beautiful place. - On the beach, cleaned every day, fresh water pool, helpfull staff, good breakfast, very safe and quite place ideal for calm holiday. 2nd time here and we will definitely coming back. More space for clothing.
- Diane (4/5): Disappointing -
- Mariuszzubel (7/5): Good value for money - Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and big swimming pool. Great location with beach front.
Great value for money. There is a mini market right behind the resort. The room looks plain and needs some fresh painting. There is mold on the celling. Just
a bed, fridge and small table in the room. No water bottles provided in the room, no alcohol sold in the resort.
- Ingy (8/5): Very good -
- Divij (7/5): Good -
