- Nigel (6/5): Pleasantly designed studio with sofa bed - The bathroom and kitchenette are nicely designed, making clever use of ceramics to imitate black granite, marble and wood. The studio is very central, close to a lively bar scene, and there are one or two decent restaurants a little further away from the crowds. Street parking in Volos is almost impossible for non residents but there’s reasonably priced parking nearby. The main, double bed is actually a sofa bed, with a single up a vertical ladder above. Once to sofa bed is extended, there’s nowhere to sit. For the size, comfort and parking facilities, the studio is relatively pricey compared to our studio in the Cyclades, with its terrace, the spacious flat we had in Athens, near the Acropolis, or our sleek studio in Ioannina with a king-size bed in a separate bedroom.
