Guest Reviews
- Madeleine (9/5): - Very nice caravan, comfortable, clean, nice location No furniture on the veranda like in one of the photos.
- Sophie (6/5): Well-appointed lodge in fab location, but lacks upkeep & attention to detail - Lock box was very convenient for our late arrival and directions were helpful.
Lodge was comfortably furnished with lots of space and storage and the location was perfect for us
We didn’t use the park facilities. The hob and all 4 knobs we’re broken with only one partially working hob plate (electric not induction), which could only be switched off using the oven isolator, a safety concern. We were unable even to make the simplest meal (eggy bread) in the lodge as the cooking facilities and utensils were inadequate for a group of 6 and revealed a lack of care - mismatched items, 2 slotted spoons but no spatula, etc
Mattresses were uncomfortable with springs poking in your back.
No instructions for central heating, etc.
Impossible to communicate with host - I have contacted ChillStays, TravelNest, Hoborne Holidays and Abbie but have yet to get a timely response to any queries.
There was no washing machine or tumble dryer although these were listed on the listing
- Lisa (6/5): It was good for the purpose of our trip - The location on the park was amazing and it was near to the event we were attending. It looked clean, the beds were made and towels supplied and a toilet roll there when we arrived. There was everything you needed in the kitchen. There was enough seating for everyone. When we arrived we found in one of the bedroom by the vent a huge amount of spider eggs and the spider, so that hadn’t been cleaned. It was very obvious and easy to reach. One of the windows you had to close from the outside as it needed a slight lift, there was also no information about the park or timings. Sadly we also received our passes after the adults only swim and we would’ve made the most of that opportunity.
- Hayley (7/5): Good - The location of the caravan is great and despite a few items of dirty crockery, some food in the kitchen sink plug and rubbish on the bedroom floor generally caravan was clean with no major issues. We did have a few issues with the caravan most could be easily rectified.
-It is missing a few essentials eg baking tray for cooking for example. Also when we arrived there were 3 rock hard sugar sachets and some very dubious grey looking coffee in some of the jars in the kitchen, I'd suggest either offering some of these items better or don't bother.
I've already mentioned about the few minor cleanliness issues.
The communication was ok but we found it to be very hit and miss. This was a very last minute booking, after finding out that the original place we'd booked last year after staying was no longer available as we believed they'd gone out of business. For the cost of the 3 nights, we feel what we got was extremely overpriced.
We asked for a possible earlier check in or later check out and was flatly told no because of the cleaners, so i tried asking if maybe like in other places someone would/could text to let us know if the accommodation would be ready earlier. We heard absolutely nothing back and the caravan still had cleaning issues when we arrived!
The major reason despite the good location and overall not to bad accommodation we wouldn't choose to book this caravan again as its simply too cold! They do provide a few rather dubious looking storage heaters, one of which is very unstable up against one of the bedroom walls and as an ex firefighter, i definitely wouldn't be leaving them on constantly as they aren't very trustworthy.
All 3 of us including my 4 year old daughter woke up in the night during our stay and were absolutely freezing. I'd definitely pack your thermals if you choose this caravan.
We plan on visiting the park again as this was our 3rd yearly Easter visit after living in the area previously and my little girl loving all the entertainment but we'd find somewhere else to stay.
- Susan (4/5): Complex was fantastic,?kids loved it and the pool - Location Smelt doggy and toaster full of everyone’s toast, very dated and used and cold, electric heaters provided but not usable with young children around
