Guest Reviews
- Dave (9/5): Super apartment in the heart of Shrewsbury, the little extras on arrival were perfect - Excellent location very comfortable, Carl and Hannah were brilliant Nothing
- Rob C (10/5): The perfect place to stay when visiting Shrewsbury - As a former resident of Shrewsbury it's so nice to have such a lovely apartment to stay in when visiting family.
The hosts are a joy to deal with and we love the little touches they make.
Would highly recommend Chandaliers as a place to stay.
- Jane (10/5): Great location. Beautifully furnished. Very clean. Everything you need for a short or long term stay. - Well positioned for city living. No curtain at the bathroom window.
- Xiaolan (9/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): It was central and close to everything! - It was spacious, and a fabulous location! It was close to many charity shops and antique shops if you’re a thrifter like me! We didn’t have a car so being close to the train station was great! It was a short 10 min walk with our luggages.
- Andy (10/5): Back again next year! - Fourth annual visit for me. It’s a wonderful, spacious and very well equipped flat, right in the centre of town. So convenient for travelling, shopping, or just wandering around. Neighbours were a bit noisy on Saturday night, but it didn’t bother really bother me.
- marc (10/5): Lovely apartment in an excellent location - Lovely, spacious and well furnished apartment Nothing
- David (10/5): The next time I am in Shrewsbury, this will be the first place I look to book - fabulous. - Spacious, well equipped, great shower, lovely spa bath, comfy bed, characterful building in a perfect location, great book collection, lovely welcome goodies, including the all important fresh milk! Also good comms, easy and willing to be contacted.
Right in the town centre, everything is easily walkable, including bus and train stations and the lovely Quarry Park and Dingle Gardens, shops and restaurants on your doorstep. Only minor things - I would suggest a toilet roll holder and a small rail next to the sink for the hand towel.
This place is absolutely perfect for most people - the only ones it wouldn't suit are those who find stairs difficult or very light, early to bed sleepers, as you can hear people who talk loudly on their way home, up to about midnight, especially on a Saturday.
I go to bed late and am not a light sleeper, and even at 68, I am fine with the stairs, so I loved it!
- Michael (9/5): Heart of Shrewsbury - Spacious and comfortable accommodation in the heart of Shrewsbury close to restaurants and shops. Highly recommended
- Tess (10/5): -
- Rob C (10/5): A lovely apartment to stay when visiting a lovely town. - The communications and help from the host were excellent. Some nice welcomimg treats were left for us and milk provided which saved some time on our busy evening.
The facilties are excellent, we would definitely stay again, thank you. We didn't find anything to dislike, if we had to mention anything it would be the hair dryer in the main bedroom didn't quite reach to be in front of the mirror which gives you an idea of how ideal the apartment is!
- Chloe (10/5): -
- Georgina (10/5): Lovely stay. - Everything Nothing
- Flaviana (10/5): Amazing time - Comfortable and very safe apartment. I liked it, it's very central. Everything was incredible, and Carl is a very hospitable host. Thank you for everything. It was incredible. Nothing.
- helen (9/5): Had a great stay and would definitely book again! - It is in a great location and has everything you want and more! The stairs up to it !
- David (9/5): Fabulous apartment. - Fabulous large apartment with really responsive hosts. Mardol is quite noisy late evenings and during the night. Drunks motorbikes and souped up cars.
- Jo (7/5): Good - The location was excellent and the place was comfortable, the beds in particular. It was very central and easy to find. We enjoyed our stay. I found the deposit system very unusual and slightly worrying (if I'd known, I wouldn't have booked as it felt very out of the ordinary). I had booked on behalf of colleagues and the hosts seemed to forget that and communicated with me about them checking out early.
- Andy (10/5): Looking forward to coming back again, same time next year! - Becoming my second home! My third annual visit. Its the best value apartment within Shrewsbury town centre, and is superbly located, just a few minutes walk from the shops, and the train station. Lots of stairs on the way up, which was difficult with my enormous roller case, but having been here before, I was already well aware of this.
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (9/5): Excellent - The apartment was luxurious. The beds were very comfortable. The location is excellent. It was lovely. Hannah and Carl were very flexible and helpful. Having to strip the beds and put the rubbish out. That is usual for a hostel, but not when you're paying £126 per night.
- Anke (9/5): Gorgeous place. - The place was gorgeous, beautifully furnished, all the facilities worked well and it was very centrally located and full of character. Parking is off site, but not untypical for Shrewsbury.
- April (10/5): Exceptional -
- Damian (10/5): Exceptional - The place is central. Spacious and cosy at the same time. Would highly recommend it. The close outside had a bit of a bad odour.
- Allison (7/5): Good - Size of the property and the bathroom The sofa bed in the second room was a little uncomfortable a normal bed would be better.
The problem we had regarding the £300 deposit took us a few days to sort out
- Laura (10/5): Excellent location and apartment in the historic heart of Shrewsbury. - Outstanding location, spacious, very comfortable bed, big bathroom and kitchen. Excellent restaurants a block away on same street. We loved everything,
- Charles (10/5): A good weekend place - Info shared easily
Flat is large and airy. Felt lovely
- Gardiner (9/5): Superb -
- Andy (9/5): I look forward to returning at the same time next year! - Ease of booking. Great location, right in the centre of town, and close to train station. A selection of essentials, like milk, tea and coffee already provided on arrival. The only way that this could have been improved for me. is if there was a dining table and chairs in the lounge. I had to spend my evenings working, and it would have been ideal to be able to do this in comfort, with an eye on the TV, too. The low headroom above the table in the kitchen was not an issue for me, although it would be if three or more people tried to sit around it. I did bump my head a couple of times!
- Kenneth (10/5): A wonderful stay in the heart of Shrewsbury - We had a really nice 3 days at Chandeliers. The flat is large and very comfortable. The host is fantastic and ensures you have a great stay. The flat location to the town and river is spot on. I will definitely look forward to a return visit to Chandeliers. We liked everything
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect., The stairs could be a challenge for some people .
- Tim (9/5): Lovely Three Night Stay at Chandeliers 6... Very Comfortable and Attractive Apt. - Lovely apt and felt very homely. Lovely lounge with leather chair and nice sofa. Large TV and the internet and all the facilities worked well. A reading room with a sofa is useful if you want to relax and read while someone else watches TV. Everything was clean and tidy and we really loved our stay at Chandeliers 6. Would definitely book here again. The location is very central in Shrewsbury and very easy to get to all the main attractions in the town. The bath jet spa/jacuzzi function didn't work or at least we couldn't get it to work. Not much not to like here though, the hosts had everything covered. So a very minor gripe and it didn't affect our stay in any way.
- Emma (9/5): Superb -
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): We had a great time staying in this fabulous apartment. - This apartment is in the centre of the town which, for us, was highly convenient as we were visiting the annual Shrewsbury Flower Show just a 10 minute walk away. The apartment was very well and comfortably furnished being equiped to a high standard with everything you need for your stay with excellent wifi. There was milk in the fridge, a bottle of wine on the table and some fruit in a bowl as well as tea and coffee. So there was no need for a dash to the nearest shop on arrival. If you arrive in the evening the nearest supermarket is at the top of Pride Hill (10 mins walk) which has the basics and closes at 10pm. The apartment is on the top floor above the shop 'Lakeland' - I remember many years ago that the shop was the SaveRite supermarket; now that would have been super convenient but probably very noisy. Overall an excellent stay and most definitely will book again when next we return to Shrewsbury. Please note the apartment is on the top floor and only accessed by stairs so if you have difficulty climbing stairs it's probably not for you. Otherwise "what's not to like" about Chandeliers 6?
- David (10/5): Lovely spacious apartment - The apartment was very spacious and everything we needed and in an excellent location. The hosts couldn't have done more to accommodate us.
Loved it Nothing
- Matt (10/5): Perfect - couldn't recommend highly enough - The flat is gorgeous and much bigger than it looks in the photos. We are extremely grateful to the hosts who were incredibly accomodating with flexible check-in/out times and very responsive generally. 11/10 N/A
- Thecrazytraveller (10/5): A Great Time - Loved it, a great apartment, and was well looked after.
- Valerie (10/5): had the most fabulous stay - it was spotless & right in the middle of town nothing
- Steven (8/5): Very good - An excellent location in the heart of the town. Very noisy on Saturday night. No double glazing to keep noise levels down.
- Steven (10/5): Centrally located and trouble free. - The apartment is large and has everything one needs on vacation. The instructions issued by the owner are the best we have ever seen. It is on a noisy street. Not really a problem but could bother light sleepers.
- Pat (10/5): Great stay - The apartment and location were excellent Everything was OK for us. I don't think the host had been told we were a party of 3 as one bed was not made up. Easily sorted though.
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful apartment, everything we needed, perfect finish Nothing!
- Roisin (9/5): Superb - it was cozy, clean and comfortable na
- Andreea (10/5): Exceptional - really nice place x loved it
- Ana (9/5): Great stay and great experience, so we will repeat if we are coming back. - Location is great, hosts are really nice and always ready to help. Main bedroom is very nice and confortable, sitting room and kitchen are very nice as well as bath. Only one toilet and many stairs (third floor without elevator) so be prepare to carry all your staff upstair and downstairs... Ceilings are a bit low in some parts, so be aware if you are a bit tall you could not stand up.
- Hannah (9/5): Lovely stay in large city centre apartment. - Fantastic location.
Lots of space, really comfortable bed and lounge area. Really good shower and bathroom. Hard to be critical.
If you struggle with stairs this isn’t the place for you. Three flights up a communal staircase.
The key was almost impossible to get back in the wall holder.. needs addressing.
- Andy (9/5): Great location, in the town centre. Very spacious, and comfortable. Would definitely come back next - Such excellent value. Great location, right in the heart of town. Fully equipped with everything you could need, and very spacious. The kitchen had plenty of crockery, glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, but only one small saucepan. This was adequate for my needs, but others may welcome a couple of larger saucepans too.
