Guest Reviews
- Vincent (10/5): Great stay with peaceful surroundings - Clean and comfortable
- Kimberly (3/5): Not a great experience - We booked this as dog friendly accomodation for a weekend trip with my partner, his adult daughter and a friend. It was also dog friendly, but we didn't end up taking our dog.
The house itself, and furnishings, were clean but quite basic, for the price.
In a quiet area, about a 15-20 min walk into town.
Myrtleford itself is lovely - good bike track, some nice places to eat out. Really poor experience with the managing agent (you're not dealing with the actual host). Our first encounter was a brusk message 14 days out saying our booking would be cancelled if we didn't pay the balance. We'd booked through booking.com via CC, the deposit had been paid and the remaining amount would normally be remitted that way. When we followed it up, they were vaguely apologetic and then said something about other people putting in fake CC details into the system. Very odd.
The after our stay, we were sent a close up/blurry pic of a mark on a white or cream couch, asking what it was and saying we'd be charged extra cleaning (after having paid a hefty $175 cleaning fee already). We explained not only did we have no idea what it was, that wasn't even the colour of the couches AT the property.
Ultimately, such a poor experience, I couldn't recommend others use this accomodation.
A few other negatives:
Very uncomfortable/old chairs outside, which is a shame when you wanted to sit outside.
Outside table and front porch table and chairs dusty, we had to wipe down ourselves before we could use.
The kitchen wasn't particularly well equipped, no simple pantry supplies either, but we only spent one night in, so wasn't a huge issue.
Wood burner there but no wood left for guest use, so if you wanted that, you'd need to bring yourself.
Also, split system in the main bedroom didn't seem to work for heating and it gets very cold overnight.
- Lasith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andy (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (8/5): very comfortable - tap washers need replacing and some doors need adjustment
- Christine (8/5): Very good - Didn’t like that there were steps between ever bedroom and toilet. Not great for 80 year olds during the night.
- Bettina (8/5): Lovely little holiday home! - The property is lovely. The home has a cozy feel and the backyard was great for our dog. The bed in the back bedroom was super comfortable. Unfortunately there were quite a few cobwebs around the house and on our arrival day, some of the towels and face washers were wet. I had to put them in the dryer.
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Leon (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Sandi (9/5): Lovely, cozy and clean cottage with the convenience of two separate bathrooms. Good location in a quiet neighbourhood. - Lovely, clean and cozy cottage in a good location. everything was great.
