• Jessica (10/5): We got more than we bargained for but in the best way! - Hosts were amazing & incredibly friendly. Met us on arrival and told us to explore their 4 acre property which included fishing lakes, woodland and roses. With the welcome we were advised they were happy to keep their personal gym open for guest use. Holly lodge is located upstairs but well equipped. Extra biscuits and a pullout bed placed in the lodge (as well as travel cot) ready for our kids to stay despite us being prepared to sleep in the sofa bed. A non slip mat in the shower would be the only possible suggestion but absolutely far from a critique!

Enjoyed being ‘up high’ made it feel more cosy! My dog loved exploring the gardens. Great onsite gym and only a 10 minute drive to Hereford. Nothing everything was lovely and great value for money
• Madeleine (10/5): An Ideal Herefordshire Retreat - The location is great, not far from Hereford itself and easily accessible. The place itself has been lovingly restored and is an open space which is comfortable and well maintained. The grounds are ideal for a stroll around, well maintained and quiet. Tracy, the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful which provides a lovely welcome after a long journey. No complaints whatsoever.

• Faye (10/5): Lovely and quiet accommodation near to local amenities with fantastic accommodating hosts. - The host Tracy was amazing. We had visited as our dog was having an eye operation nearby and Tracy was really accommodating. We dropped our dog off at 8am and check-in wasn't until 3pm but when asking if we could arrive early Tracy had messaged us by 11:30am which meant we could relax at the place whilst waiting to pick our dog up - really helpful when we didn't know the area. The place was really good for our dog and was in a lovely, calm setting. It was spacious, clean and had all the facilities you would need. It was also only a short drive (10 mins max) from Hereford. I would definitely go back. Everything was great.

• Katrina (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodation was exactly as described. Perfect location for us for getting to/from our family get together in centre of Hereford, just a 10 min drive perfect. Lovely grounds, suitable to wander our dog in the evenings/morning before we departed, safe for him to watch the world go by without being out of our sight (he's a nosey boy 😂) Lodge had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend and come again if family celebration in the area. We managed, but due to the incredibly high temperatures during our stay the lodge was very warm. (the hosts were amazing putting fans on & opening windows prior to our arrival to assist). Thanks so mucn.

Only slight negative, we had expected the grounds to be a bit bigger for walks etc. and a more private garden space would have been nice, but this did not spoil our stay.

Beautiful location. Impressive facilities and amazingly attentive and accommodating host. We’re looking at dates to go again soon! Nothing. I cannot fault a single thing. We required a base as our dog had to undergo major eye surgery locally and needed to be close. Tracy was so thoughtful and went over and above to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

The surrounding area is beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful walk around the garden. The accommodation itself has been recently renovated and was spotlessly clean. We also appreciated the thoughtful provisions left for us. The bed and mattress could be more comfortable, as we found it a bit too soft, which caused some creaking when turning over at night.

• Jenny (9/5): A lovely place to stay! - Super Lodge in amazing grounds, with lovely hosts Tracy & Brian on hand if needed. A very convenient location and easy to find. Well furnished with open plan layout. Great shower, comfy bed. Own enclosed outdoor space, and freedom to explore the lovely lakeside grounds with lots of places to sit & chill out. Comprehensive information folder. We will return! Not having enough time to enjoy the grounds as we were spending most of our time visiting family & friends.

Good facilities within the lodge, nice and clean. Mosquitoes! But thats not the fault of the owners! Doesn’t help that I’m tasty to them!!

Lovely furnishings and everything you could need. The courtyard was cute but could do with some tlc to match the lodge. But nothing that I hated.

• Laura (10/5): Wonderful Stay! - Tracy & Brian are super amazing hosts! So friendly, informative & approachable. We stayed for 1 night following a friend's wedding. Brian even kindly offered to bring my partner back to the wedding after dropping our car back to save us getting 2 taxi's! Never experienced this generosity before in other places, we were so grateful. Holly's Lodge is like a little home away from home, it's beautiful and in stunning grounds. 11am check out is perfect as you don't then feel rushed out. Tracy gave some suggestions on where we could go for a nice breakfast as it was my partners bday the following day, the garden centre just down the road did not disappoint, thank you so much for the recommendation! A wonderful stay, would definitely like to return. That we couldn't stay longer! It was lovely!

• Harry (10/5): Holly's Homely Lodge - Holly's Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. From the moment we pulled up on the drive we were greeted by the hosts and their lovely dogs! We were shown up to the room and where everything was and was told about taxis in the area as we were at a wedding. The place was clean and well lay out with even milk in the fridge on arrival! Tracy was a brilliant host and we would not hesitate to book again. N/A

• Holland (10/5): Overall a positive and brilliant experience - The location was amazing and there was so much land to explore on! It was only a short drive into the Hereford town centre. The host Tracy was lovely and very helpful throughout the visit, she greeted us not long after we arrived and was really good with the children! A brilliant place and we would definitely come back
• Emily (10/5): Highly recommend and would stay again! - We stayed here for one night in April for a little family getaway, the lodge was beautiful and had everything we needed. There were gorgeous views and acres of grounds to explore for our little one and a lovely outside area to sit out on a nice evening. They provided a travel cot and a spare bed if we needed it and the lodge itself was decorated beautifully, with all household items to cook ourselves a nice dinner. The location was great, really quiet which was what we were after but lots of places around the local area to explore. The hosts were also lovely, thank you so much for having us!

• Alexia (10/5): A comfortable stay away from home, with all details considered for a self-catering stay. - Clean, comfortable, easy to find, easy to check in and out, lovely grounds to walk around, very peaceful, exactly what I needed for a couple of nights while working in the area. You have control of the heating yourself; I generally prefer it cooler and sometimes struggle with overheating in hotel rooms; I know some people are the opposite and either way the control is in your hands. I grabbed this property last minute so expectations weren't high, but I was really surprised that it matches up to the photos, often I find things a little lacklustre in person, but no disappointments.. REAL coffee with a cafetiere was a nice surprise! I've recently been to a few airbnbs that were missing obvious things - this place felt like everything had been thought through, like the owners had considered what they would like to find in a little self-catering accommodation and used that as their guide to fit it out. Owners are lovely, laid back and friendly... so is the cat! Also the gym on site was ideal; its rare I can actually use an onsite gym for my training (squat rack with eleiko bar and plates is a very rare find). note - DO NOT LET CAT INTO GYM he will chew up the yoga mats. Hard to do when he's crying outside the door and its raining though.... I'm already booked in for my next stay in the area - I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. A TV with netflix connection would be great, I'm not a tech geek but I'm pretty sure I couldn't cast from my phone to the TV, not that I had time to watch more than an episode anyway. there are two good flat-screen TVs though with all terrestrial channels, so if you watch TV you've got what you need. bed is a little soft for my taste, I'm in my 40s so I'm becoming a bit of a snob about beds, but I still slept very well both nights without the usual aches and pains through the night waking me up, so it must be supportive enough... maybe I should consider a softer mattress myself?! And the pillows are ideal - which is handy as I usually bring my own but forgot it this time! I won't worry about packing it next time. The A49 runs by the property so there's the gentle swishing of fast cars going by in the background, but its only a single-carriageway so by no means noisy, and its not a 'traffic' noise, if that makes sense. If you're super noise sensitive it could be something that could be disappointing if you're looking for a silent stay in the country. I realise most of those don't seem like things I didn't like, but I'm racking my brains to think of things you may need to know if your tastes are very particular!
• Bruce (9/5): Good location and value for money have whole apartment available. - Good location, easy to find. Ideal for having the dog with us as there was on-site areas to walk (and swim for our dog). Hosts were very welcoming and helpful.
