Guest Reviews
- Laura (3/5): This place has so much potential, but unfortunatately, for us, it was not quite there yet. - Lovely location in a small village with super walks along the adjacent river and a lovely pub in the village. Great views. Easy and ample parking. Spacious living room with large comfy sofa. Two of the three bedrooms were spacious with comfy beds. Host was friendly. We had a number of issues with this place, the most serious of which was smoke alarm sitting on the floor and a blocked toilet, which, despite phoning the host, no-one came to fix it and my parents had to sleep near the smell from the en-suite for two nights.
Other issues were dealt with very professionally and promptly by the holiday company running the cottage (holidaycottages.co,uk or Ingrids's Flute, I think) and hopefully these issues will be sorted and not present for future visitors.
Our check in was delayed: because we had booked through Booking.com and not their usual agent, they weren't aware of our booking. Maybe they were new to booking.com and this is hopefully sorted now?
Be aware that the property is part of a large (and lovely) manor house that is also rented out and there were noise issues from this property (potentially children running around in the early morning in a big wooden halled floor below the property?). Also the bedroom windows open into a coutryard which is adjacent to the swimming pool for the larger property and the fans (or something like that) are continually whirring, so light sleepers may not be able to open the bedroom windows on a summer night due to the noise. Kitchen equipement was basic, and some of it, e.g. pans, were past its best but hopefully these have been repaced now.
