• Linda (8/5): Good central location for the trips we needed to make. - Staff were very welcoming and efficient. Our breakfast were good - we had a nice choice of options. Everything freshly cooked to order. Our meal in the evening on our first night, was good too. Our bedroom was very comfortable, but it would have been nice to have had the room serviced, especially as we were there for 3 nights. However, there was info about this when we looked

Our host Molly was exceptional. She was a good laugh in the bar and it was obvious that she took pride in her job and her pub. The room was fabulous, dinner was amazing, and the breakfast outstanding. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay a few more nights.

Although the road is very close, it was a very quiet night - even with an open window. To be able to sit outside the pub in the evening to wind down—eating, drinking a cider, and watching a hot air balloon drift in—was wonderful. -

• Andrew Bowell (10/5): It was very relaxing. - The room was clean, bright warm and comfortable. Service from Molly and her team was excellent. All the staff were friendly and polite and they went out of their way to treat us as individuals and friends. I would certainly go again, and would recommemd to all my friends and family. Accommodation was in a cottage type building next door to the pub a few yards away. Spotless room with tea making equipment. Lots of toiletries and lovely white towels. There was even a cotton dressing gown in the wardrobe each to use if needed.

• John (10/5): - The rooms were just across the car park from the pub. They are finished to a high quality modern standard. The property is in a quiet country village, which suited us perfectly. Molly is a great host. The breakfasts were first class and the restaurant menu in the evening is full of great pub classics. An excellent place to stay for touring and sightseeing in Kent. Can’t fault it.

Heerlijk ontbijt met alle onderdelen van een full English Indien gewenst. Vriendelijk personeel. Handige locatie voor trein / boot. Mooie historische pub. Geen comfortabele zitplekken buiten. Meer asfalt dan tuin.

• Sharon (5/5): Very disappointing. - Great host. Comfy bed. Shower pressure good. Room was incredibly dusty. Basic surfaces were thick with dust. Dirty kettle inside and out. Very basic tea tray. No biscuits on offer at all and no fresh milk or small fridge. Front and top of drawers were dirty and needed a simple cleanse with a cloth. Breakfast was pretty grim. Mushrooms and bacon were actually inedible. Both were tough and had clearly been overcooked and then re heated. Menus (paper) were dirty and weathered and really shouldn’t be handed to customers in that state.

My fish and chips could have been better.. a lot of greasy batter. A fair bit of nouse from M20, but hardly surprising given proximity and having windows open because of heat!!

• Malcolm (9/5): A perfect getaway for my Wife and I, very relaxing, great food and comfy room. Staff are amazing! - The staff were very polite and friendly, nothing was too much for them. The pub was lovely, and the accommodation was superb. We did mention to the staff that one of the windows didn't have a blind in the room, so let light in the room early in the morning. They assured us it was on their list of to dos. Also, if I'm being picky, some comfy chairs in the pub would be nice, it's all pretty much hard wooden chairs?

Lovely cosy room with comfy bed in the converted barn with a great shower and luxurious towels. Delicious supper and full breakfast the next morning. Good selection of drinks as well. Quiet location, yet very close to main roads to/from the Dover ferry. Lovely evening walk through village and fields. Room excellent, located in a building next to the pub. Although next to the parking lot, very quiet. We had an issue with the bedding which was instantly solved. Thank you :) Nothing, will book again when travelling with the Dover ferry
• Gary (10/5): A great place to stay and enjoy the serenity of the English countryside and great pub food. - The location is out of the way, but it is worth the effort to get there. The main room and bathroom were recently renovated (quality work) with high-end materials. It is nicely appointed, has lots of great windows and a bed that was very comfortable. The pub which is across the parking lot from the rooms is quintessential English pub with friendly staff. We had the meat pie and fish and chips and both were outstanding. An ale recommended by our server (after asking) was perfect.

Window in bathroom broken..Other windows only opened a little bit. One window didn't have a blind and so we woke early. Breakfast although well presented and a good choice was different in taste to most. Eggs quite rubbery and mushrooms soggy.

All excellent but thought breakwast was a bit pricey and could be made clearer that the booking is room only with breakfast extra along with the price per person

Good WiFi and Smart TV appreciated 👍 A compact but very practical ensuite shower room. We enjoyed a super-tasty late Sunday lunch in the pub. Room+pub adjacent a great combination for a pre/post cross-channel ferry stop-over. Hope to return ; - ) Thank you to the whole team! The bathroom was a little chilly in December - some heating would have been appreciated. The "heated" towel rail did not seem to be working. Sadly we had to make an early start - before breakfast was served.
