Guest Reviews

- Peter (10/5): Great family operated water side retreat. - Great property. Beautiful family and. Ice modern stylish room in a beautiful garden setting just 30 meters from the sea. Nothing. Don't be put off by the approach road.
- Peter (10/5): Super nice accomodation - Great property run by a beautiful family. Great location a few minutes walk from town but tucked out of the way with direct access to the water. Rooms are newly built, have a/c and fridge and great bathroom and shower. Mix of rooms and camping spots so there is a nice blend of international travelers and tourists. Nothing
- Herr (10/5): - Sehr komfortabel große Zimmer, super Bad. Einzig eine Nachttischlampe fehlt. Super freundliches Personal! Top Lage! Super sauber!
- Josie (10/5): Wake up to the sound of the waves and the birds and a view of the sea through the Pine Trees - This was the perfect location for us. We awoke to the sound of the waves, the birds and a view of the sea through the Pine trees. The family looked after us with big smiles and we liked our stay so much, we were lucky to be able to extend our stay how another 3 nights! The position of the apartment was such that a short walk over the headland took us into Himare, or in the opposite direction, we reached Livadhi Beach. The end of April was perfect for the weather and peace and quiet a space. Life on Green allowed us a base to explore the mountains, Blue Eye, Pilur, Sarande and Ksamil (the latter 2 were just a quick glance.
The apartment was very smart and super clean, clearly recently renovated and beautifully maintained. Bedside lights would be helpful as either very bright overhead lights or very dark, but this is a mere detail and didn’t affect our stay
- Anna (10/5): - Sehr schön gelegen, nette Vermieterin!
- Dan (9/5): Don’t judge a book by its cover, this is a bit of a gem I grew quite fond of. - Host was very pleasant and welcoming.
The water side of the property has a great view, great for a picnic of wine, sandwiches and pastries. It’s only a short (5 minutes) downhill walk on a trail and you’re in town on the promenade.
Lovely coastal village, lots of restaurant choice. Where you park the car may look a bit different than expected but it’s all fine and safe.

- Kyle (10/5): - The best accomodation in Himare . We stayed for one night and we was sad to leave . The rooms was clean modern and big . They had also a balcony that you could chill . The beach was rocky beach but with crystal water . We highly recommend this place .
- Jéssica (10/5): Amazing stay with lovely people - Life on Green is located in the perfect spot between Himare and Livadhi beach, in a quiet mood between the busy village. It’s nice because with a short walk you can go to both of them, but can also enjoy the rocks and the forest in front of the room. Room is super comfortable, big and new. Diana is just amazing. She’s lovely, caring and try to help you as most as she can. I had great days to rest there and totally recommend the stay. Shower is not super strong.

- Hana_y (9/5): - This place is a real charm, nestled in a beautiful pine forest with stunning sea views. The room is spacious and clean, with a comfortable patio area. A few notes: the WiFi signal and cellular reception in the room itself are quite weak, sometimes nonexistent - but on the bright side, it's a wonderful opportunity to disconnect and enjoy being immersed in nature. For some of us, the beds were less comfortable and the pillows quite firm.
Despite these minor points, it's a lovely escape if you're looking to unwind in a peaceful, natural setting.
- Florencia (10/5): Lovely spot, great location and good vibes overall! - Great location, close to town but not right in the middle and with the sea right in front. The food at the camping site’s restaurant is great and reasonable priced! All good!
- Maheen (10/5): Beyond Amazing - The place is beyond exceptional, the staff is helpful, polite and courteous. By far the best place I’ve stayed in Albania. Everything was brilliant, but it’s a little tedious to get to the property if you have luggage and are on foot.
- Hansika (7/5): - Gorgeous setting - friendly staff Overpriced - basic rooms. You share the property with 100s of campers.
- Dr Andreja (5/5): Not recommended for families with kids - The pine trees and sea view from the tents not from the bungalows are the only nice things about this campsite.
The bungalow room was comfortable. Unfortunately, there is no real beach – just rocks with almost impossible access to the sea. The surroundings are neglected. The food selection was extremely limited, of poor quality, poorly prepared, and served in small portions – definitely not worth the high prices. During our four-day stay nobody cleaned our bungalow or just offered clean towels and sheets. The facilities are very basic and underdeveloped for such a beautiful location. A great potential, but sadly very disappointing.
Not recommended for families with kids.
- Ezmeralda (7/5): A nice place with potential, but still a lot of work to be done. - The location is stunning, and the private beach was the best part of my stay , perfect for relaxing and snorkeling. The rooms were comfortable, and the bathroom was great. Mario really stood out with his kindness and helpfulness, he truly made a difference in our stay. When we arrived, the younger woman at reception greeted us with, “Hi, why did you come so early?” which didn’t feel very welcoming. The room was advertised with a sea view, but from mine it was just a tree blocking everything. Storage space was very limited for three people. Service was inconsistent: while Mario was excellent, the rest of the staff could be unfriendly when stressed. One time I asked for my rice dish to be served warmer, but instead I was told it “cannot be warmer than that” and was given cold, uncooked rice, which was very disappointing. I had invited two European friends to experience Albania, and while I was proud to tell them about our hospitality, I noticed they sometimes felt uncomfortable which was disheartening.

- Kate (6/5): Decent location on water but everything else wasn’t good - It’s sort of on the water although there’s a huge camp site with lots of people there camping and staying in front of you.. so basically no privacy. Luckily the young people staying there were chilled and friendly. The bathroom was decent. The fridge is very loud I had to unplug it. You can hear your neighbors and the loud music from other camp sites. - VERY overpriced for what you get. I thought that 110 euro was going to be something wonderful and decent. It was very, very average… with no breakfast, minimal service and the ONLY friendly guy was Mario .. the other people working there were cold and rude. Didn’t make me feel welcomed at all especially after I was sick and had to book here instead of the camping site. They seem very tired and overworked. No customer service. The lady even came to my door at 9:59 knocking saying it’s time to check out… what is that kind of treatment?? 😅
- Kevin (8/5): - Fantastic location set in the pine forest with beautiful rocky swimming cove which was fab for snorkeling. Not too far to walk into town but far enough away from the noise. Friendly staff. No breakfast included so was a little on the pricey side.
- Karolina (10/5): - A beautiful Balinese-style apartment surrounded by lush greenery. We loved it so much that we decided to stay a few extra days at the camping. A truly stunning place with wonderful people. The pine forest brings incredible relief during the heat, and the rocks with a ladder leading straight into the turquoise water make it simply perfect. Nothing more is needed for happiness! 🌿🌊✨
- Hila (10/5): - Very nice place
Great view
Rocky beach and it was amazing to jump into the water. Probably less convenient with small kids and babies.
- Birgitte (8/5): - Nice, quiet and friendly campsite with a few rooms. Rooms were basic but adequate, clean and spacious. Nice on-the-water location It was possible to go swimming right at the camp site, but deep water and rocks means only really suited for bigger kids and adults who swim reasonly well
- Rea (10/5): Excellent experience!! - Clean, beautiful, excellent experience!! 🌸🌸
- HSIN JU (10/5): amazing experience will come back - This was my best stay out of the trip in Albania. the private rock beach really highlights the experience.
it’s nothing like the main busy area, I am so glad we stayed here for some peace and quiet time. The water was amazing. chickens gets quite noisy early in the morning
- Lacey (9/5): Lovely spot to seclude yourself with easy access to the town when you want! - Loved this place. The room was clean and spacious. It was nice to have the sitting area out front. The sea was right there after a small walk through the trees. We were far enough from town to feel secluded but just a few minute walk through the forest to join civilization. I think everything was great and as expected.
- Dea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Koppold (10/5): Exceptional - It’s very private and tidy. The staff is really nice and helps with every question. The beach is private only for the camping side so it’s not very crowded. At first the way up was complicated to find but afterwards it was great.
- Rachel (10/5): A week we will never forget. - If we could give this place 50 stars we would. Mario, Rachel and the whole team took incredible care of us, after we had unfortunately been in a car accident en route. The vibe of this place is pure happiness and joy. We could not have asked for more to help us recover, from the comfortable room to the delicious food, to the shady, peaceful site and of course the direct access to the sea. But the people made it (special thanks to Thiago!), it is a very special place. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Nothing it is beautiful.
- Sara (10/5): Perfect quiet, clean summer stay - This might have been my best accommodation ever - first of it's a gorgeous place, full of flowers, trees, there's a cute pathway down to the sea and the campaign site itself if basically a private beach, has some beds by the sea, 2 ladders to enter. It was fully quiet, our apartments/rooms were super clean and modern, has a small terrace as well. The walk to town is 10-15 minutes, was safe at night as well. The staff is very kind and helpful, there's free parking, a small cafe and they serve breakfast as well. Such gorgeous and nature-y place, perfect for a calm and quiet vacation right by the beach. We'll definetely return for more nights next time.
- Cillian (7/5): Did the job that was needed, really clean facilities but beware of route to find it! - Nice clean, big room and bathroom. Loads of space and in a nice setting with camping areas in front of accomodation and cove to swim in which is lovely in the morning. Host was very friendly and welcoming too Really hard to find the accommodation, Google Maps directions sends you up a lot of steps and through unsafe areas to get there. Wi-fi also barely works or reaches the room, no phone signal either.
- Daniel (10/5): Great place highly recommended - Amazing place to stay, they have food service in place. Otherwise, you can walk 10 mins to downtown. They have acces to the sea and the water is perfect. You share location with the camping but, it add a chill ambience. Highly recommended. I'll for sure want to come back
- Ervin (9/5): Superb - Nature
Sea
Staff Nothing
- Sasa (10/5): A little piece of heaven on Earth - This is one of the few truly pristine places left on the Albanian coast. I spent hours searching for accommodation that would be immersed in nature, right by the sea, but away from the massive new concrete blocks—and I finally found this gem.
We stayed here for three nights during our travels around Albania. The room was sparkling clean, comfortable, equipped with a fridge and an efficient air conditioner. Right next to the rooms is a peaceful campsite, run by the same family, where you can relax in the shade of pine trees.
Our host, Marjo, is a kind and hardworking person who, together with his family, has created something truly special. If we were coming to Albania for a longer beach holiday, we would definitely choose to stay here for two full weeks.
- Lisa (8/5): Shady, cool breeze, great swimming, comfortable units - The unit that we had was super comfortable. Bed was good. Shower great. Unit was quiet. Staff very good! As long as you are aware that there is permanent campsites and camp kitchen for backpackers below the units, it’s fine. It is more for a younger generation than me. Having said that we enjoyed our stay and the staff could not have been more helpful.
- Brianna (8/5): Excellent stay - Great location! We really enjoyed our short stay here.
- Heather (10/5): An Absolute Must! - We could not have asked for a better stay in Himare!
It was so peaceful and quiet, with the most beautiful private rock beach, perfect for swimming. It’s just a short walk to town and a beautiful hike to Lavadhi beach. Mario and his family were such gracious hosts.
- Tobias (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely amazing stay for my girlfriend and I. Family owned paradise in less than a 5-10 minute walk through the woods to himare center. Couldn’t recommend it enough! So so amazing
- Julia (7/5): Tranquil oasis, friendly hosts, great location - Easy to communicate with the host, greeted us on arrival . Such a nice location with direct entry to the sea! Very relaxing
- Brenna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sonila (10/5): I had an amazing experience here! Even though it’s not beach season, I loved the peacefulness of the pine forest and the - A special mention goes to Blue, the sweetest and most charming four-legged host. He guided us to the path leading to Himara’s center—a scenic trail through pine trees and along the coast. Blue joined us on our morning walk, stayed with us during our coffee by the sea, and even checked in on us throughout the day to make sure we were okay.
- Molli (10/5): The host was lovely and the location is incredible. It was around the corner from Himare so nice and quiet but still clo - The location is lovely and quiet, the room was huge and well kept We weren’t sure where to go when we arrived as it’s tucked around the back of the property but the hosts were lovely
- Valda (9/5): Superb -
- György (9/5): Superb - Beautiful private (rocky) beach). It is advertised as an "apartment", but it is only a room.
- Campana (10/5): Best place in Albania - The best place we stay in Albania . Directly to the sea under the pine trees you can jump directly to fhe water . We will be back soon .
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Beach towels should be included.
- Pedro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Friederike (8/5): Lovely stay! Would book again! - Beautiful, very new and comfortable room
Camp Site ist super nice and relaxing and just 5 min on foot to the town
You can go swimming directly at the Camp site but be aware that it is not directly in front of your room but maybe 50m further and due to the rocks there is not too much space to sit at the waterfront, but it is still super nice and beautiful
- Tristan (10/5): Exceptional - What a fantastic place! Mario and Rachael were amazing hosts. Very welcoming, kind and always there to help. The place is in the most amazing location. The food was great too! A totally magical experience right next to the sea. Snorkeling and sea swimming everyday. I would definitely recommend to future guests. Thankyou so much for making incredible memories for me and my family. We would love to come back again. Keep doing what you are doing.
- Rolandas (10/5): Perfect stay in beautiful place. - Most unreal and serene place just next to Himare you can find - Himare with beaches and restaurants is available in 5 min walk over the hill. The hosts are very friendly, room (5 bed/family apartment) was clean and comfortable, having very nice terrace. You won't find the sandy beach here, but the private rocky coast beach makes this even better.
- Marlene (10/5): Exceptional - The location could not have been any more perfect. We stayed in the 5 bed apartment which was bright, clean and comfortable with a beautiful terrace looking out into the forest and 50m down to sea access. There is a bar/cafe available which serves amazing coffee in the morning. It’s a 5 minute walk through the forest over to Himare beach town but once you’re back at yer property it’s like a secret haven. The water was so clear and beautiful to swim in and there are paddle boards and kayaks available to hire. Nothing it was wonderful
- Christos (10/5): A romantic getaway in a pine forest surrounded by nature and wonderful people. - Setting in a pine forest on the blue Adriatic was the best of our 17 days in Albania. It is managed by a family who are always present and helpful. Spoke beach was very good and a close walk but being able to anytime dive into the deep water in front of the forest was priceless.
- Paul (2/5): Most expensive accommodation in Albania and most deceiving experience so far - Nice location, clean room, good food ! We paid 120€ per night and the host refused to give us even drinking water, which is the least he could do for such a high price. The host replied to our request that water was not an "included option" on booking. We were shocked to see that the host's priority was not the well-being of his travelers but profit (even on a bottle of water). After visiting the whole Riviera, you'll find, for the same price and in Himare or the surrounding area, other hotels with better views, swimming pools and even breakfast included. As far as the location itself is concerned, it's very nice, but you should be aware that the accommodations are right in front of the campsite, not in front of the sea. There's no sea view from the room, contrary to what you can read on booking... if you want a sea view, it's better to stay in a tent. The room also lacks a lot of essential equipment, which is often mentioned in other booking reviews. Finally, the food is good, but as expensive as a restaurant in the center of town. In conclusion, we don't recommend the Life on Green. You'll find a better value for money elsewhere.
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Megan (9/5): Awesome vibe, view, and owners - The owners are such an incredible family. They were so friendly and helpful. They even let our child play with their child's toys (and they became good playmates). The vegetarian food was some of the best I had in Albania. The vibe of the place was so chill and relaxing. And having an on-site swimming spot was just stellar. It's a short walk to town. Parking is tough, but we were lucky that with the room we booked, we had a saved parking spot.
- A_braja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Joana (10/5): ndjenja e nje komuniteti🤍 - This paradise makes you feel like you are part of an inner circle even if you are staying just for a little while.
You can tell that the nature that surrounds it has been cultivated and looked after for quite a long time with lots of hard work and love.
The peace you get, amazing!
This family that runs this mesmerizing place are very good people and they made us feel welcome from our first step into the door till the swims we took into the sea.
We'll def come back!!🐠
- Jeannie (10/5): Cool vibe in nature - Nice atmosphere on the camping site. Nice and cool under the pine trees. Apartment was as new. The rock access to the sea was different but nice. Owners are super friendly and laid back. The only thing that was a bit of a shame was that the fridge would defrost when you would leave the room. And walking back from the town at night is a bit hard on an unpaved road, however it felt safe and is only a short walk. It definitely did not stop us!
- Oren (10/5): Amazing and unique place to stay with a welcoming and friendly atmosphire - Hosts are really welcoming and friendly, great atmosphire , great food and great location
- Jesper (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miek (10/5): Exceptional - Chill place, relaxing! Very close to Himare but away from the touristic scène.
- Jozef (10/5): there is still a lot to improve, but the hosts were wonderful, we felt very comfortable, home environment - domestic environment and awesome hosts little things that were solved right away
- Josie (10/5): Paradise - The wonderful family business. Very welcoming. A perfect location away from crowds. Beautiful and idyllic. The view if the sea from the forest was lovely. Best spot in albania so far.
The food was honest and delicious. Cooked to order. A wonderful place to visit.
- Helena (10/5): A beautiful place - This is a paradise! A cozy pine forest that meets the ocean! There is an outdoor kitchen and a possibility for barbecue and to buy beer and coffee.
The water is so clean you could see many fishes. I would love to come back one day.
- Fenna (5/5): Disappointed: not as advertised - They were helpful with last minute early check-in. On fist sight it looks nice. Beautiful ground with fruit trees. Almost all in shade. The most expensive accommodation we stayed at in three weeks, least service and hospitality. We couldn’t lock our room, balcony door was broken. When mentioned to host they said: ‘oh the previous guest broke it’ and didn’t come to repair or check - even though we asked them to. No compensation was received.
Not always warm water for shower - when asked they said: ‘it’s heated by solar panels, so out of our control’ (it was very sunny all four days).
The property is not as advertised on booking. No beach access, no private beach. Ocean access only by tiny ladder from the rocks. 3 sun beds on two small concrete plateaus to share with 50+ guests. There was no snorkeling equipment as mentioned, even though we asked. It says ‘Accessibility: all on same floor’ but it took 6 steps to the room and a high step into the bathroom, plus very low toilet, so for someone looking for an accessible room it wouldn’t be a great fit.
Room was missing essentials. Smell in bathroom terrible at times, no siphon in drains we guess. Not able to hang shower head, mold on broken hook. No hooks to hang towel, missing a broom or dust pan and they never emptied the trash during our stay. Lots of ants.
- Arnia (9/5): Beautiful camp cabin - Lovely and quiet in May. Walk down to water easily. Would be an amazing place for shade if the weather is very hot. Beautiful water. Clean cabin with good shower. Water was rough one afternoon, and it was difficult to get up ladder onto rocks.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - mario is the best host! very nice family.
in the pinewood... directly at the sea.
wonderful! we highly recommend it.
- Claire (10/5): Peaceful, relaxing, chickens wandered the beautiful grounds. Large room with refrigerator and a big porch -
- Janna (10/5): Perfect! - This was one of the most amazing places I’ve ever stayed. You can hear the ocean waves from the front door and the animals everywhere are so cute and sweet. Blue followed us on our walk around himare. The family who owns the place is 1000000% the best host ever. They cooked us meals and were super accommodating whenever we needed something. They really have hospitality in their blood. They’re also a very sustainable family with their own chickens and seem to just really care about their guests experience. Loved it. Need a small table lamp for reading at night
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning location, great hospitality, very clean and modern rooms. Everything just perfect!
- Lisan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sofia (10/5): Hidden Gem in Himare - This was the best place we stayed in Albania and we are so glad we found it! The rooms are newly renovated and very spacious, and our favourite thing about staying here was being able to jump into the sea everyday from the bottom of the campsite. The whole place has such a nice chill vibe and it’s still really quick to get to the main part of town. Highly recommend! Nothing :)
- Oleksandr (10/5): Exceptional - Great location , very comfortable place and super friendly hosts.
- Lord (7/5): Nice location but hard to sleep well - The room was new and clean. Great wifi connectivity. A good swimming and snorkelling area directly in front. Lovely, friendly owners. Room was very bright with no curtains along one side of room. As much as we're animal lovers, we were not expecting the early morning sounds from the Chickens.. No soaps or ammenities in bathroom for shower.
- Maria (8/5): great spot in Himare - super nice large rooms for a big group or family. we really enjoyed the terrace outdoor. lovely rocks zone to dive in the sea the bathroom sewage wasn’t appropriate as the smell was horrendous. you can’t see the sea from the room, it seems like you can from pictures. remember to pay your stay in cash (euros)!
- Ruben (9/5): highly recommended hotel - The accommodation is located in an exceptional location facing the sea, in a natural area that makes it very pleasant. In addition, due to a problem with the car and the traffic that arises, we arrived much later than the check-in time and the owners very kindly waited for us until the time we arrived. In the room it would be necessary to place some furniture or a chair to be able to place the luggage
- Jure (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Nice little oasis under pine trees with great hosts. Apartments are brand new, very nice bathrooms, efficient AC. Warmly recommended!
- Jolanda (8/5): Nice location - Lovely, modern rooms in the middle of the forest, very peaceful.
Very nice view from the rooms We had the family room with Sea View and I was travelling with an elderly person.
The terrasse could've been a bit larger as the room is very spacious and there wouldn't have been enough space for 3 people to have a bite to eat.
Unfortunately there were no bedside lights and only a bright spot above the bed and the toilet was far too low.
The camping area take up a lot of space and there isn't much space to sit close to the beach area.
- Anthony (10/5): Great stay by the sea - Very clean and nice room with terrasse, a few meters from the sea and some stairs to get in the water. Just next to a camping with a very nice atmosphere, chill and calm. The two owners of the hotel and camping, a lovely couple, are very nice and welcoming
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - Really stunning place, in the forrest, on the shore.Rachel was very nice and helpful, relaxing atmosphere, also friendly people.
