Guest Reviews
- Joanne (10/5): Lovely weekend break - Great host, always available if needed, lovely complex and close to the town of whitby Na
- holly (10/5): Fab location fab accomodation - The location was spot on literally 5 mins walk into the centre of whitby. The cottage was quaint and comfortable with adequate parking for a family who arrived with 2 cars and four children also very grateful for wifi lol Nothing
- S (8/5): - Cosy Parking
- Jeremy (10/5): - It was a lovely clean and cosey place to stay. Would definitely stay again. Nothing.
- Alice (10/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): -
- Heather (8/5): Simple and functional - Excellent communication throught out. Lovely homely feel, good size bedrooms with comfortable beds and if a little cold heating worked fine. Would stay again - good value, basic terrace house .
- Gibbs (10/5): Enjoyable comfy warm - Location cleanliness and parking N/a
- Leanne (10/5): Perfect for short break - We had a lovely stay at Scoresby hideaway. Location is perfect, a short walk into town. House was fully equipped, clean, warm and in a quiet area. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of staying. Parking was a little difficult as streets are tight and busy but we did manage to get a space nearby.
- john (8/5): Spacious for 6 adults, homely, great location and parking - Initially the parking was a concern but it proved to be absolutely fine and safe!
Great location, spacious accommodation for 6 adults. Pleasant decor and furnishings, plenty hot water for showers and nice and warm and homely Staircase to attic bedroom was extremely steep, and bed/mattress was very uncomfortable. The bedroom is extremely spacious though.
Kitchen space would benefit from an air-fryer for ease of cooking in a small kitchen.
- Peter (10/5): Scoresby Hideaway - Great location. Just a 10 min walk into town. Lovely home. Cupboard under the stairs smelled heavily of damp. Parking was a nightmare. Streets far too narrow and had to reverse either to or from the property.

- alison (10/5): - We have stayed here before - lovely house - really good location Nothing
- Jennifer (9/5): Perfect location and comfortable stay. - Very comfortable, well appointed property. We parked outside with no problems. It’s a short stroll into the centre of Whitby and we walked to Saltwick Bay along the coastal path from there. Beds are comfortable, shower was powerful, house was spotless. Brett called me to say we could get in an hour early which we appreciated. This house was perfect for our stay with three children. In 2025 you’d expect towels to be provided. It’s odd that covid is still being used as a reason for them not being. With 5 of us, bringing our own towels took a big space in the boot! I don’t think we’ve ever stayed somewhere, even during the pandemic, where towels weren’t provided. Stripping the beds on the last morning is also not something we’d expect to do, although we did it as requested.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good base for the visit and we will come back. - Good location for Whitby centre and travel to local walks. Nice, tidy and cosy with a fine galley kitchen, comfortable living room seating, good TV and excellent wifi. Slight issue with the shower on the third morning, ie two cold showers!
- Mark (8/5): -
- Williams (8/5): Love break - Lovely set up nice decor Sadly the step hills were difficult for my 80 year old mother
- Donna (8/5): - The house was very nice and had everything that was needed, very comfortable and beds where great When we arrived the front garden was full of weeds and definitely lacked curb appeal, the hallway had a smell of damp but the rest of the house was lovely
- Deborah (7/5): -
- Scott (10/5): -
- Leanne (9/5): -
- Kevin (10/5): Great location close to town Center - Roomy and close to town Center
- natalie (9/5): - Comfortable and cosy A lot of building work going on around the property so lots of work vans which made parking quite challenging at times
- Mandy (8/5): -
- Callum (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (9/5): Superb - A beautiful furnished property, t
he rooms were very spacious, light, and clean. A joy to walk into apart from the doggy smell. My grandson was accosted and verbally abused by the next door neighbour, re the parking of the car. We then moved the car to the street without the lock box.
- Keith (4/5): Couldn’t park safely and felt very closed in no outside space to enjoy - It was lovely but the location was awful Ur property is beautiful but the location is not nice
- Manhong (8/5): We had a pleasant stay! - Location: walking distance to town center; The house was clean and in a good size. Well equipped kitchen. Narrow streets, making parking difficult !
In the middle of a shower, it turned to cold water !
Cant find a bin bag.
- Alanna (9/5): Superb -
- Lorna (9/5): Superb - Very clean and tidy Nothing really we had everything we needed
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Caroline (9/5): Great communication with owner, property as described - walking distance to all amenities, would stay again - Location close to train station just short walk up the hill. Close to shops and restaurants, short walk away
Spacious property, kitchen well equipped.
3 bedrooms, large bathroom with bath and separate shower.
Great communication with owners Property was as described, so nothing
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Janine (9/5): Superb - Location and quiet area. If I had to choose something it would be no dishwasher. Was not a problem though.
- Wendy (8/5): Modern, comfortable, clean, lovely! Central to everything. Beautiful walks and plenty to see and do. - Great place to stay. A short walk from everything you want to see in Whitby. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Very comfortable beds! Everything you need is provided. Parking is a bit tricky, arriving in the dark it was pretty difficult to get up the street which is very narrow, but we arrived Friday night and didn’t use the car again til we left Monday so not a big issue. Very steep stairs to bedrooms which our dog found difficult, but could shut the hallway door to keep him away from them.
- Lisa (8/5): Very good - The property was warm and had plenty of seating for four adults. It is decorated as per the images - cheap/cheerful/functional.
The location was good - just a short walk to the harbour.
Parking was free and actually plentiful, though it was quite tricky, being a very narrow dead-end street. It wasn't a problem for us. The hot water seemed to be set to automatically go off, which meant it ran out in the mornings. If it was our user error, clearer instructions need to be provided.
My pet hate - double quilt cover on a double bed. My husband and I are both 6 feet tall and battled over the covers at bedtime to try and get fully covered. We ended up taking the quilt off the bed upstairs and having one each.
The bathroom floor was dirty, as were pots in the kitchen cupbards. We had to wash before use. However other areas were well cleaned.
This is a traditional terraced property. Please note- the stairs are VERY steep, especially to the loft room (3rd bedroom). My elderly parents were very nervous. The only bathroom is upstairs, so it's something to bear in mind. I am agile but wouldn't want to attempt the stairs down from the loft for a late night bathroom trip.
- Tina (10/5): Beautiful property just location - Beautiful accommodation exceptionally clean and well equipped. Heating on constantly. Which was brilliant with being there in January. The area where accommodation is situated wasn't very pleasant. Some other properties around this beautiful accommodation were quite run down. And parking was a bit of a issue on arrival.
- Tracy (9/5): Superb - Comfortable well equipped and in a good location if you don't mind hills only 5 minutes to the train station and the town. We had a great stay over new year and the house is nice and cosy Nothing really but had to buy a tea towel haha and had to take our own towels but nothing much to complain about
- Julie (10/5): Lovely home from home stay - It was home from home very comfortable comfy beds excellent facilities loved it Everything was perfect
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Samantha (10/5): Amazing house in a fantastic location - The property is lovely a proper hidden gem Brett was a lovely host prefect for the family especially the baby and dogs will definitely be staying here again Nothing
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional - It was lovely comfortable clean abd location was perfect Nothing not to like it was what it says on the tin
- Chris (10/5): Lovely stay in beautiful property - Lovely property, very comfortable and clean Light outside on approach to front door would help and also bulb needs replacing in hall.
- Duncan (7/5): Warm - comfortable beds and a good shower. Parking (on street) ok if you're confident manoeuvering. - Warm and comfortable with excellent beds and shower.
- Irene (8/5): Very good -
- Carol (9/5): Superb -
- Mireille (9/5): Superb - It was
- Yvonne (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly host. Lovely house. Everything you need. Very clean and lovely decor. X
- Joy (9/5): Superb -
- Jean (9/5): July 2024 - Beds were super comfy. Nice clean and spacious rooms. Not too far from town when walking. Kitchen was pretty well stocked with crockery and cutlery. Excellent value. Loved the layout. Very steep narrow stairs to bedrooms and bathroom. Parking was very difficult. Could do with egg cups. Watch the tap outside when entering the back door.
- Matt (9/5): Superb - Great location and very helpful owner Some toiletries would be useful
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (10/5): Value for money - Location to town centre house spotless has everything you need for your stay beds very comfortable will definitely stay again recommend to family and friends. Nothing
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely cottage !!!
Location was fantastic, the cottage was absolutely perfect, even had no problems parking on the road .
We will definitely be coming back !!!
- Daphne (10/5): Highly recommend - Brett was wonderful nothing a bother to him at all and the house was beautiful and so clean, couldn't find one fault! Will highly recommend it. Nothing to dislike!
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - The house was lovely and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable. There was a shower and a bath which worked well for my families preferences.
Very close to the centre of Whitby. It was a quiet area and perfect for families. It was quite a steep hill walking to the house, which was difficult as an asthmatic but well worth the effort.
- Ryan (9/5): Lovely little homely house - Lovely clean house with everything you need for your stay . Brilliant comfy beds and a nice powerful shower . Location was perfect with just a short walk to pubs, restaurants and shops, Great communication with the owner and all smooth sailing getting into the property. Parking can be slightly dodgy but if you reverse back into the street and plan to leave your car for the stay it's fine.
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional - Homely En suite to the top floor bedroom would be better but nothing major
- Grace (10/5): Exceptional - The houses was lovely and clean and had a very welcoming feel about it. A tall lamp in the living room so we didn't have to have the main light on in the evenings would've given it a cosier feel. But that's just personal preference.
- Jade (9/5): Lovely, comfortable, short stay - Beautiful decor, great location and lovely hosts. Had everything we needed
- George (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely, warm comfortable house. Around 10 mins walk to the edge of town
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Lovely family break - Second stay at this lovely property. Great base for our family to spend time together. Comfortable and clean and a great location.
- Jeanette (10/5): Very good -
- Andy (10/5): Excellent value for money - It’s was spacious very clean and all the facilities were excellent near to the front They was nothing I did not like
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Macdonald (9/5): Very comfortable stay. -
- Deb080465 (10/5): Lovely place to stay in Whitby - Had a lovely weekend away in Whitby staying at this property.
In a good position, close to town and beach.
Everything was spotlessly clean, 3 good sized bedrooms, lovely bathroom with bath and shower.
Kitchen fully equipped for anyone wishing to cater for themselves. Parking is a bit challenging but we did manage even with 3 cars.
As someone else commented recommend reversing up the road.
- Toby (10/5): An enjoyable stay in Whitby with Scoresby Hideaway as a really good base to explore the town and are - Excellent location handy for both driving out of Whitby (if you arrived by car) and for easily walking into the centre of the town and its attractions.
The property was very well presented with three excellent bedrooms (especially the one at the top of the house) and a good sitting & dining area. Parking was a challenge but then, its a large car and we didn't really need it most days so once it was parked, quite happy to leave it there. Plus, perfectly easy to get to Whitby with public transport.
- Sonia (9/5): Loved every bit of it, great house, lovely and central to explore the Yorkshire coast. - Fantastic location for the town, walkable into Whitby with all the local connections and things to do.
Clean, and homely little house with everything you needed. A green area to walk the dogs that was nearby would have made it perfect…but it was no bother to walk them round the streets.
- Linda (10/5): Beautiful home within walking distance of town and beach. - Such a beautiful home with everything you might need. My family felt very comfortable there . The decor is modern and sophisticated. It's reasonably close to town and the beach and also the shops . A handy fish and chip shop is also close by, always a plus. There are 2 places to park ...front of the house and the rear and we suggest you reverse up both as it's very tight to reverse .
- Yvonne (8/5): Lovely home, we all loved it. Thankyou - modern clean and comfortable The only negative is that the attic stairs are quite steep with narrow steps.
