- Pete (10/5): Clean, comfortable and convenient. - A very nice cosy and comfortable stay with all the convenience you would expect. Situated right near the town centre and right next to a lot of shops, takeaways and pubs and plenty of taxi services available.
Our host was also very kind to accommodate us when the circumstances for our trip had changed, highly recommended 🙂 Nothing.

- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jo (8/5): Very good - Spacious, clean and comfortable. Only 5 mins drive into the city centre which cost £7 in a taxi. Nothing.
- Mr (9/5): Great place in Durham - Easy to find, good instructions for opening. Clean and spacious. Comfortable beds, good sized lounge. Good kitchen facilities. Helpful and friendly host.
- Kanguatjivi (10/5): The host is lovely , communication was great, the place is lovely nice and clean just as it is the pictures. The host is - The property is very nice and clean. Nothing
- Lorraine (7/5): Fit for our holiday duration but basic - Lovely space to share family time It seemed very sparse with only basic furniture which made it feel less welcoming.
- Emma (10/5): Love stay visiting family in the northeast. - Property was immaculate, perfect location, fantastic communication with host.. can’t recommend enough. Could fault anything.. all was great
- Madhana (9/5): It is a real home away from home for us! - This is a great little 2 bedroom house with everything we needed for our stay. The rooms are clean and spacious, and clean linen and towels are provided. It is cold in the kitchen area and it would be great if the garden is maintained. We had some difficulty with the front lock as the key must be inserted with some precision, could do with a modern lock!
- Murray (9/5): Excellent City Break - A lovely house, well appointed and with lots of room. A large kitchen, good bathroom (decent shower), and large living area. The bedrooms were also spacious and very comfortable. Parking is included and very easy, and the hosts were extremely responsive and pleasant. Would thoroughly recommend! There's the usual pots and pans in the kitchen, but no cheese grater or anything more niche, so worth bringing some of your own items if you know you'll need them. Also no mirror in the bathroom, but we've been told this is being installed. Be aware that it is a good walk into Durham, though the house also provides access to Old Durham and the surrounding countryside very easily, which is a pleasant route once you get out of the suburbs, and there are plenty of supermarkets, takeaways, and pubs nearby anyway.
- Adele (8/5): Ideal property for settling our son into university and buying the essentials nearby. - Communication from the owner was excellent and the property was clean and comfortable. A good location in Gilesgate, very near the Dragonville shopping area and there is a convenience store and a few takeaway places at the end of the road. Not overly close to the City centre if you don’t have a car but it is within walking distance.
- Louisa (8/5): Relaxing stay - Quiet location close to Durham town centre. Host answers questions very quickly. The heating is preset and appeared to come on at the times we least needed it - during the night while we were asleep so we switched off the radiators, and during the day when we were absent. Northern English summer temperatures are around 12C at night and 15C during the day so evenings were chilly.
- Helen (9/5): Brilliant. Met our expectations and was hassle free - thank you - Everything was as described. Great location and how’s responded quickly to messages. Lovely little house ideal for our needs. Thank you Garden wasn’t in use really (but we wouldn’t have used it anyway so not a problem for us at all.
- Elaine (9/5): Superb -
- Jastina (8/5): Very good -
- Kirstie (8/5): Very good -
- Hannah (10/5): Fantastic home away from home. Great location, friendly and responsive host. Highly recommend! - Lovely little house, but plenty of space for us. Was absolutely spotless on arrival, and had everything we could possibly need. Lovely host too!
- Ian (9/5): Perfect for our weekend in Durham - Good location, a short drive to the centre of Durham. Clean & tidy 2 bed home, Comfy sofa & nice TV. Fully equipped kitchen (which we didn't end up using apart from the kettle).
Perfect for our weekend trip to Durham.
- Madhana (10/5): A great place to stay! - The property is in a quiet residential area and is close to some super stores. It is easy to get to Durham city center and Newcastle either using a bus or car.
The property itself is newly renovated and was very clean and well looked after.
Very good free wi-fi throughout the house and the speed was great.
The host is just a phone call away in case of any issues, though we didn't need to call Josephine on any issue! None
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Russell (8/5): Nice house, only a thirty-minute walk to the centre plus there is a regular bus service. - No comments. No comments,
- Angela (9/5): Overall access to the property was good. - Location was good. The size of the apartment was good. The heating was controlled thus the place was not heated the whole time.
- Sharon (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (10/5): Thank you so much it’s a perfect property for our staff to stay in while working away from home. Very clean too - Fantastic location
Free safe parking Everything is perfect
- Adil (10/5): Absolutely lovely place to stay, 10/10 - The host was lovely and very accommodating!
- Ngwenya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Soukaina (9/5): Really good location and good value for money. - Very clean and close to the city centre, around 5 mins drive. There were supermarkets close by so I could shop for dinner.
All spotless and had everything I needed for my stay.
I really enjoyed and thank you to the host for coming and showing around.
The house was very warm once the heating was on. All bedding was clean and smelled lovely. Nothing. I love it and I would come back again!
- Jane (8/5): Good base for weekend visit to Durham university - Good location for visiting university, about 20 min walk into centre
Shops nearby
Attentive management resolved queries without delay
- Katherine (10/5): Perfect home away from home whilst visiting our son who is studying at Durham University. - The house was in a great location. It was residential but really close to many shops and eateries, A perfect stay! Nothing
- Sumari (10/5): Excellent location, lovely home & friendly host. 10/10 stay! - Spacious and homely stay in Durham. Very close to a busstop - excellent location. Hostess was friendly and accommodating. Can highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again when I visit Durham in the future.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect for me and my wife for a nice weekend away to attend a wedding in durham centre. No complaints Zero complaints. All perfect for us. 1 recommendation only and that is to maybe have some clothes pegs for the washing line. We managed perfectly without them as just used a hanger from the wardrobe. Definately not a negative . :)
- William (8/5): Convenient for a Durham city break - Location is convenient for Durham City. The house has easy off-road parking.
As we travelled to and fro on foot, we can't comment on the bus service, or car parking in the city centre. If you're planning to walk, you should be aware that it's about 1.5 miles to the city centre - and Durham being what it is, it's not a flat walk.
- Lynne (9/5): Very positive experience, good location and very comfortable. - Clean, well equipped, good correspondence and well situated. Quiet area, felt very comfortable there. Nothing, it was ideal for our short stay.
- Shannen (10/5): A cosy home away from home! - Clean and homely! Only 10 min drive from the centre of Durham. N/a
- Wai (8/5): Very good - The host is really friendly and helpful. Location is convenient and the house is spacious. Recommended!
- Paul (8/5): Very good - House was very spacious and in a nice quiet area. City centre just a 5 minute drive or a nice 30 minutes walk through a park and by the river. There are a couple of takeaways and a small shop within a 2 minute walk and a retail park about 5 minutes away. Owner was very nice and attentive and left some tea, coffee and milk for us on arrival. They showed us where everything was, how the heating and hot water worked and were on hand in case we needed anything. The house was fine and maybe just needed a couple of additions such as blinds in the front window and a new toilet seat. Some instructions for the bin collections and maybe some local leaflets would have been nice but not essential.
- Miklos (7/5): We have a fantastic time with my family, Durham is beautiful. - Host really friendly, we field the warm welcome in the arrival. We really appreciate the space what we got in this house, my little son had the chance to run around in the living room before bedtime. Shops are close to the apartment and some take away. Is relatively close to the Cathedrals and all of the touristic attraction. Some little issue with the bath , garden is unhabitable.
Could be nice to sit outside to have a coffee in the early morning.
- Nadarajah (9/5): Superb - perfect home away from home. Cosy 2 bedroom house within a stone's throw from Durham city center. Ideal location . House was clean, well equipped and Josephine was kind to ensure we had tea, coffee etc. Very good value for money and would recommend anytime . Josephine is a great host who was trying to make the best stay for us. Much appreciated. Nothing really.
