- NiCris (1/5): Would not recommend or re-attend. - This is a tough one for us. Being diplomatic the house itself was comfortable, beds comfortable, internet connection was good and there was Sky TV however, no pay per packages attached and no TV stand so TV was wonky. On arrival, the house was filthy. The front door was broken, forcing entry through the rear into a greasy kitchen. The driveway was strewn with rubbish. Surfaces, light fittings, cupboards, fridge, freezer, and even the dishwasher were grimy. The filter was caked in thick grease and no salt or rinse aid. Non stick saucepans had lost their coating and were pretty much unfit for purpose. Everything had to be washed before we could use them. Not enough tea spoons. Personal items and clutter filled the house. The room we were told not to use had no lock, and when mistakenly entered, was in disarray. Dust and long black hairs were everywhere, including bathrooms. Broken vacuum, peeling paint, filthy extractor fans, no microwave handle, unclean bins—every surface was dirty. Lights in living room too low so kept hitting our heads. Sink in ensuite could not be used as the plug got stuck in the closed position. Outdoor bins upon arrival were full. Having to use back entrance at nigh also a challenge as the lights not bright enough to illuminate the path. No pillow protectors and a pillow case had a hole. Also notified owner of MAJOR security breach with where some additional keys had been left.
It looked like the owner moved out that morning and decided to rent it that afternoon. We could go on and on. We documented everything with photos and contacted the offshore owner. She expressed disappointment in her cleaners and promised a refund, later trying to reduce it after calculating OTA fees. It's now been over a month with no refund. She insists it depends on her being paid by the OTA first. Well we can safely say, this has already happened.
This isn't just about the money. Had the stay met basic expectations, no refund or complaint would have been necessary. We probably wouldn't have written a review at all but based on everything above, here it is. Awful house and after care by the owner. BAD!!!
