Guest Reviews
- Alise (10/5): Great flat and amazing location - It was a perfect stay! The host is lovely and the flat is well located, with several convenient bus routes to Snowdonia and trains to Anglesey Island. The room is quiet and super comfortable. Absolute gem! Nothing, this was perfect!
- Bill (10/5): Super 3 bed appointment ideal for family stay - Property was spacious and well equipped and very clean
Pub Landlord very friendly
Will certainly be using this accommodation again Nothing

- B. (10/5): - Five star rating for location, facilities and provisions. Patrick was awesome... friendly and helpful.
- John (8/5): - It is a nice little place . The owner went above and beyond to make us all feel comfortable.
- Heather (8/5): - Patrick was a friendly & attentive host.
- Maurice (10/5): - Excellent accomodation. Great value and Patrick was a very friendly guy. The location was brilliant.
- Christopher (9/5): Enjoyed our stay . Great location and clean property. - Spacious , clean and quiet
- David (10/5): - On arrival, Patrick gave us a wonderful warm welcome. The bedrooms upstairs were nice and warm despite the cold weather outside. In fact we turned the heaters down low overnight. The kitchen was well supplied with eating and cooking utensils.
It was just a short walk to the supermarket, and bus stops. We took the T10 to Llyn Ogwen to go hiking around the lakes and mountai of Snowdonia, and Sunday morning walked across the road to Penrallt Baptist Church, where we were able to meet many locals and other visitors over coffee after the service.
On Friday, Sat and Sunday nights the bar downstairs came to life as musicians arrived (as many as could fit in the room) and started playing lovely Irish tunes. The music could only be faintly heard from our bedroom, so didn't keep us awake. It took a bit of time to work out how to use the clothes washer/dryer, the dishwasher and hot water system in the shower. It would be nice to have a simple set of instructions displayed near each.

- Marlys (10/5): You'll enjoy Patrick's warm hospitality! - Patrick is a very welcoming and good host. His warm hospitality was much appreciated. His location was perfect for us, as we used Bangor as a hub because of its good connectivity to many best places to visit in the area, near the train station.
It's also near several big supermarkets and good restaurants (Befikre for Indian, Arroy Dee for Thai and Anka for Turkish.) If you like going to an Irish Pub, you're in the best place!
The place has everything one would need for a good stay. Nothing major.
- Alison (9/5): Comfortable, clean and great location. - Patrick is a very welcoming host indeed!
Great location and well equipped. Warm, very clean and extremely comfortable beds. A lovely atmospheric pub - friendly, well run and such an eclectic mix of regulars and visitors in the bar. Don’t expect the fanciest décor or perfection in the decorating but the flat is clean and has every facility you need. You do have to use the stairs to a different floor between the bedrooms and the bathroom and kitchen so be aware if stairs are tricky for you.
- Purba (9/5): Great location for stay in Bangor - We loved the location and Patrick is an excellent host who even bought us some milk ahead of our arrival! The rooms were very cosy with a well stocked kitchen. Accessibility within the flat was an issue. This is not suitable for elderly who need additional support for movement or someone needing accessibility help. We did not have any trouble ourselves though.
- Arianna (8/5): - Nice place and facilities, kitchen very well equipped. Good position. The host, Patrick, is extremely kind and helpful. Do not miss a good beer at the pub!
- John (10/5): Great place - Everything Nothing
- Mara (9/5): Perfect Stay!Great apartment above a charming pub, very quiet inside and hosted by wonderful people - I had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It is very spacious and extremely comfortable, with an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen and very cozy beds. A unique feature is that the apartment is located above a very characteristic pub, yet it remains perfectly quiet inside!
The hosts were fantastic: friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help whenever needed. I would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to stay here again
- Hughes (6/5): Cheap and cheerful - Lovely manager, helpful. Two bedrooms of good size. Kitchen with items left eg milk, salt some oil and spices No where really to comfortably sit and chat other than one bedroom with small sofa. Freezer unusable
- ANKIT (7/5): -
- Grotinger (8/5): -
- Darragh (10/5): Excellent location to stay in Bangor - Lovely comfortable beds, Patrick is a very engaging and communicative host. The apartment is well furnished - we cooked dinner both days and found everything we needed in the kitchen. Very comfortable beds! (Would like to know what detergent was used on the towels and duvets as it smelled lovely!)
There is a bar immediately below the apartment but the rooms are well soundproofed - heard absolutely nothing bar the odd car passing at night.
Would happily stay again if in Bangor! No complaints at all
- Mandie75 (8/5): Very good -
- Janet (7/5): Ok for a short stay. The host, Patrick, was friendly and generous - Limited space. Toilet and shower room not on same floor as the bedrooms
- Black (9/5): Superb - Exactly as described, i would stay here again if I would visit bangro again bigger than expected if u don't maind narrow tall stairs u will like this place good size kitchen secret toilet from the bathroom ( shower) and the room was lovely even tho it's above a pub u dont hear nothing in ur bedroom onliy if u go to the kitchen witch we did not mind at all even a little treat was there evriting u need It's not much that u dont like he explained everything and was exactly how described
- Alun (9/5): Very enjoyable, will stay again - The Host was excellent & very helpful, the bar was very friendly and served an excellent Guinness Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Great stay and top host - What a great find probably one of the best bookings I have made on the site! I booked a trip away for a few days with my son to do the quarry zipline and climb Snowdon. Both were a short drive from Patrick's Bar which is ideally placed.
Patrick was so welcoming and a top guy. The apartment was fantastic with two separate rooms, a shower, toilet and kitchen area. Everything you could want was provided. It's above a pub but with the bedrooms on the third floor it's very quiet. Beds were super comfy and I slept as well as I do at home. It felt like a home from home with the added bonus of a nice pub below which had some great tasting Guinness.
We managed to park around the side of the pub for a couple of days and parked overnight at a nearby Morrisons which was only £3.50 for 24 hours if that helps others.
Great stay and would return without hesitation. Nothing
- Francesca (8/5): A great value for money stay in Bangor - The property is conveniently located, with two sperate bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a separate toilet. These are all on different floors so there are a few flight of stairs to climb. My only issue with the property is that the bathroom sink was not draining correctly.
- Oom (7/5): Good -
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - Clean beds, comfy, provided tea coffee biscuits milk etc. Shower gels, shampoos.. central location. Ideal for snowdon, zip wire etc.. also close to train station. .
- Caroline (10/5): Clean, comfortable accomodation at a very reasonable price. - Super comfy beds. Quiet, warm bedrooms resulted in a brilliant night's sleep.
- Anis (8/5): Very good - Comfortable and convenient location. The place had everything you need. Me and my friend enjoyed our stay quite a lot
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dianne (6/5): Nice rooms above bar but not a good nights sleep - Friendly host. Comfy beds. Clean facilities. Nice to have kitchen. Kindly provided milk, biscuits and cordials and offered a drink in the bar. Single glazed? Sash Windows at front let in a lot of noise. Was noisy in general area although not the bar specifically. Having to use internet (ie iplayer itv hub etc) to be able to watch tv.
- Andrea (10/5): Had a fabulous stay - Central , comfortable, clean
- Lisa (9/5): Great stay - perfect for Uni open day as just a few mins walk. Lovely comfy beds, great host -
- Lyra (9/5): Cozy Stay with Great Location, Thoughtful Decorations, and Friendly Host - The bedrooms are warm, cozy, and beautifully decorated with lovely little touches. The kitchen is very spacious and well-stocked with ingredients, which is a great plus.
The host, Patrick, was very friendly and helpful to us. He promptly fixed the washing machine when it was reported, demonstrating excellent responsiveness.
The location is excellent, being close to the train station and Morrisons, with a nice Chinese restaurant nearby. The Patrick's bar downstairs adds a lovely Irish pub atmosphere to the stay. The overall cleanliness was good, with no major issues. The slow drain in the shower could indicate a need for more frequent maintenance. The layout could be challenging for families with young children, elderly guests, or anyone with mobility issues due to the stairs connecting bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and toilet.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Excellent, friendly, informative and welcoming host -
- Candice (10/5): Excellent - Lovely place that has all you need
- Barbara (5/5): Not for the faint hearted - The beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. The property is over a pub on three floors with harsh fire doors. The stairs are at a very steep angle. I don't think this property is suitable for elderly people or those with mobility issues.
- Newman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amber (4/5): I missed a fair few hours sleeping in my bed due to the issue of being locked outside the property. - We liked the flat with the two bedrooms and we had basic kitchen supplies for us to use during our stay. The front door would not unlock and we were stuck outside in pouring rain for a couple of hours in the early morning. We eventually got in when our friend came down to try and help from the other side. We tested it out again on the morning and the lock doesn’t always unlock the door, it gets stuck more often than not. We also found the traffic on the main road quite noisy.
- Jane (9/5): Clean, comfortable, & convenient. - Patrick Bar provided the perfect accommodation for our 1 night stay in Bangor. We were impressed by the amount of space and having our own kitchen, bathroom & loo. The landlord was extremely welcoming when we arrived and made sure we were happily settled. Great central location, would recommend. We were worried it may be noisy from the bar downstairs but by the time we came home (just after midnight) the bar was locked up and silent so no problem.
- Mark (10/5): Patrick was an excellent host. Very helpful and ensured our stay was without problems. Very responsive to any questions. - Great location for the zip wire and Snowdon.
Property has everything you need. Nothing.
- Suzanne (8/5): Very friendly service - Great location, close to the University
- Lyons (8/5): Very good - Location was perfect for our daughters graduation. The host was very friendly and welcoming. N/A
- Martin (10/5): Fantastic experience staying here. Could not fault it in any way - Fantastic experience staying here. Could not fault it in any way
- William (8/5): Pleasant, clean, with helpful landlord on hand - Helpful landlord on hand to provide useful touring suggestions as well as contributing local knowledge a real bonus when traveling Car parking was a little difficult (a suitable car park opposite the bar was closed during our stay for no apparent reason by the car park owner so unsure if the car park closure is permanent or temporary) and with street parking the only option available nearby car space availability was fairly limited
- Linnet (8/5): Very good - Would’ve very happily stayed a few more nights, however we were just passing though so only stayed 1 night. Host was wonderful, warm and very welcoming. The place was well equipped with everything we could’ve needed. Nothing negative at all.
- Hugh (10/5): All in all it was a very enjoyable time. - It was very handy for the supermarket and quite close to the town. It was a good place to stay. Patrick was the best host. The parking was a bit of a problem but we managed to solve that.
- Doina-daniela (10/5): Descovering Welsh life in Bangor! - The accomodation was in a house, with pub at ground floor and kitchen and sleeping rooms above. It was like probably ownwers were living before. Very nice atmosphere. The host, who was also the owner of the pub, was very friendly, we talked a lot and he helped us with all what needed. More time to stay! 😊
- Laurie (8/5): We did have a lovely stay in Bangor - Very convenient to transport. Quiet and clean Patrick was very easy going welcoming and accommodated an early bag drop (thanks Patrick). The property is easy to negotiate over the three levels. Bangor is a wonderful place to visit highly recommend it wonderful place wonderful people.
- Colin (9/5): Great Accommodation -
- Nicola (10/5): The apartment was easy to find, it was a clean apartment with a very friendly host. - Very friendly host, apartment had everything we could need. N/a
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Menna (8/5): Clean, comfortable flat in a great location in Bangor. - Received a warm welcome from Patrick (host) who showed us around the property and handed us the keys. He also provided milk, bananas and croissants for our breakfast, which was very thoughtful. No complaints. Everything met our expectations.
- Robert (8/5): Perfect for our needs. And a great home base from which to explore the area. Patrick is awesome - No breakfast available we had access to our own kitchen.
Loved the versatility of the space. It was a bit cold in the shower room and toilet room.
- Louis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (9/5): Patrick's - Rooms were clean and comfortable, Patrick was a very pleasant host.. The description on booking needs to change, the specification has a substantial food menu available, however, there is no food available at this establishment, and not much available in he immediate area.
- Andrew (8/5): Just what we needed for 2 of us ao a bike ride - Great location for a last minute booking. Host was able to store our cycles too
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb - It was a convenient location with the amenities we needed available. Patrick was incredibly hospitable and made us feel so welcome.
- Steven (8/5): Very good - Great location, clean and tidy apartment. Paddy was a great host. Pours a Guinness in the correct way. Nothing
- Beca (1/5): Bad - nothing. didn’t let us in didn’t let us in
- Sara (9/5): Superb - The host was very kind and always there to answer our questions. It was an ideal location, and no disturbance from the pub downstairs. The shower broke the first morning, but the host fixed it the same day so we experienced no inconvenience. We had a really great stay and if we would return to Bangor we would definitely stay at Patrick’s again!
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeanette (10/5): Excellent value for nice place! - Two spacious bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and shower room separated from toilet. Very kind and friendly owner and excellent location. Never disturbing noise even though it's right above the bar.
- Anne (8/5): Ideal property for visiting nearby university - host provided details of local places to eat. - Location was central and ideal for uni visit
- Jessica (9/5): A very warm, comfy stay with a friendly host. Would stay again for sure. - The owner was very friendly and showed us where everything was. He had put fresh milk in the fridge so we could have a warm drink and a packet of biscuits to accompany it. The accommodation was warm and clean and the beds extremely comfortable- my husband didn’t want to get up in the morning as he had such a settled sleep. There’s Wi-Fi and tvs in both rooms and all you need in the kitchen. Having the toilet downstairs isn’t ideal, but was fine for one night and wouldn’t put us off staying again. Not ideal for anyone with mobility issues or young children due to two (and a bit) stairs up to several sections of the property.
- Jayne (8/5): Great host, comfortable stay, plenty of room - Plenty of space and good size beds Parking was difficult as we arrived late but we found some a reasonable walk away
- Jean (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (9/5): Exactly what I expected and more - Cleanliness ,location and a friendly welcome from Patrick. Genial host and all round Nice guy.
- Emma (8/5): Lovely - Patrick was extremely welcoming on arrival and during our stay. Location perfect for us while exploring the university and city for our teen. Toilet is downstairs from the bedrooms
- Chris (10/5): Booked this for 2 of our guys working in Bangor… safe to say they were absolutely delighted with the stay! The key highl -
- Andrew (10/5): Ideal for what I wanted. Thanks. - Very comfortable, clean, ideally located; surprisingly quiet -- and in Patrick (of the Bar) a really welcoming host. Highly recommended. Nothing not to like. All good.
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacqui (9/5): Would highly recommend Patrick's Bar. Patrick himself couldn't do enough, our stay was great ex - We picked this place for the value for money and that it was close to Snowdon for walking. Location was also excellent for local restaurants and town centre. The rooms are above the lively bar where staff and patrons were very friendly. The noise from the live band didn't reach where we were staying and we had 2 great comfortable nights of sleep. Rooms very clean and warm. Stairs are a bit steep for anyone with walking difficulties. Overall a very good experience
- Penny (10/5): Perfect - Property is just as described - very comfortable and pleasant and location perfect. Patrick could not be a more welcoming host and took every opportunity to ensure that we were happy and had everything we needed.
- Ian (10/5): Excellent - Very welcoming and a great place to visit. The accommodation is spot on and very convenient for facilities in Bangor. Ecellent value for money and I will certainly use stay again in the near future.
- Richard (9/5): Excellent, hotel really comfortable bed. - Location was perfect work. Host was brilliant, would definitely come again
