Guest Reviews
- Zeta (7/5): Hotter water, drive lighting, microwave, welcome pack , warmer without log burner would b perfect. - Cute comfortable cottage in countryside . Lovely views and setting . Fully enclosed garden very safe for the dog . V comfortable bed with lovely warm duvet . Gr8 tv . V clean . A microwave was a presumption , needed for cooking certain food for dogs . I bought homemade soup for us and heating in microwave so much quicker than messing about with a cooker ! . Also always expect a welcome pack but nothing . It had rained heavily all day and arrived in the dark a bit of lighting by parking area and on the drive would have made it a lot easier to find and to reverse back to parking area in the dark as not next to property for loading and unloading . Room was cold with just the heating . Bought logs for second night much warmer and cosy . Pick up after our dog and use poo bags but found had to avoid lots of dog poo in long grass in the garden presumably left by previous guests dogs a bit of a pain . Water could have been hotter .
- Suzanne (8/5): I was very happy with my stay at the Piggery and true to pictures on website. - Great location to visit near by places and my friends who live in Bexhill. loved the views. I was very happy with my stay at the Piggery , it was comfortable and clean . On the whole everything you need for a stay. My little dog enjoyed the garden and as it's enclosed I new he was safe. I am hoping to revisit my friends again later in the year and I will check and see if the Piggery is free again for my next visit which will be longer . There was nothing I didn't like about the Piggery.
- Kevin (10/5): Peace and tranquility in the countryside - Located in a beautiful setting, great if you have a dog for local walks.
Great views out the back of the property and about a 30 minute walk to the pub.
Very clean and comfortable, well equipped for self catering and outdoor hot/cold water for washing your dog. Nice safe garden for your dog to be outside by close by, fully enclosed.
Well located for Battle, Hastings and Rye nearby.

- Neil (9/5): Excellent cottage as a base to explore the area or for a quiet break. Excellent hosts - N/A Darker curtains or black outs.
- Joanna (7/5): Beautiful little cottage, perfect for two and a dog. - Very good location for our purpose. Beautiful views from around. Very nice, secured garden, perfect for our dog. The water pressure in shower was not great.
- Katharine (9/5): Superb -
- P (5/5): Tired decor, cracks and peeling paint, could be really lovely with a bit of tlc. - Not applicable Only few coat hooks on wall for hanging clothes,so had to use back of chair
We couldnt find the farm as the actual farm name wasn’t on our paperwork and when i called the phone number,no answer.
Luckily the neighbour was able to assist, good job he was there!!!!
The host never introduced herself even though she lived across the drive, her gardener as friendly and helpful
- Julie (9/5): Enjoyed our short break with our dogs. - Lovely views. Really comfortable bed. Host really helpful. Well situated for lovely walks and shot drive to Hastings and Battle.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (9/5): Cosy, comfortable cottage - A lovely quiet location with walks close by. My dog and I had a very nice Christmas break. The addition of a lit Christmas tree on arrival made me feel welcomed. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, the bed was very comfortable. Hosts were on hand over Christmas if needed. I would return.
- Sarah (10/5): relaxing - fabulous location _ although we had a bit of difficulty finding but what a gem
beautifully appointed property with stupendous views and wonderful walks
would highly recommend nothing
- Tony (10/5): Lovely 🌹 relaxing place to stay and unwind, - The location was beautiful, you could hear the bird's, the garden was beautiful, it was quite and relaxing, the lane down to the Piggery was full of wildlife, look out for the birds of prey, and keep an eye out for wood carvings on the lane, won't tell you where as that would make it to easy, the hosts were lovely and very helpful, take time to look around you and stop, look and listen, can't recommend enough, will definitely be back another year for more The only thing we didn't like was the fact that we only booked for one week
- David (9/5): Superb - Pretty much everything, can't wait to come back. Dogs had the best time ever Would prefer a kingsize bed. The property could definately benefit a bigger bed
- Peter (9/5): A comfortable and quiet stay. Helped by good weather! - The Piggery was a quiet, very sweet little cottage surround by country side and a little garden. the cottage was well appointed, warm and comfortable with plenty of hot water for shower etc comfortable bed with nice linen.Lovely for a couple for a comfortable break in quiet surroundings. The shower was over the bath which was slippery. A non slip mat for us oldies would be a help. Also a few cost hangars for the hooks would be a good added extra.
- Ann (10/5): Ideal.place for us to stay while I visit family. Would defiantly book again - The cottage was very comfortable, warm ,loads of walks for the dogs Slight trouble with wifi, but that's not too important.I always find there is never a lot of cleaning products in lholiday lets.having 2dogs to clean up after there's never mops for floors.
- Bart (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location, away from roads so very quiet. Hosts responded very quickly to questions through the site.
- Dena (10/5): Beautiful cottage, stunning scenery, cosy fire, amazing hosts, oh and Hector best dog ever - Beautiful location, the cottage is a little gem. So cosy with the log burner. The attention to detail by the host's meant that everything you would need is there. We will visit again as we couldn't fault it. Host were on hand and nothing seemed to much trouble for them That we didn't book or longer. Wish we had found this place sooner.
- Jason (7/5): Good -
- Suze (10/5): Cosy break away - Fabulous location, so close to a countryside park for lovely long walks with the dogs.
The cottage is so peaceful, with alot of character and everything you could need and is so cosy- really enjoyed our stay and recommend to others. We had to go home! Lol
- Bryant (8/5): Cute and cosy stay with amazing views! - Stunning views around the cottage, it was super clean and cosy The only thing we would say was the WiFi was very temperamental (if you were to stream) but that’s only being picky!
- Glen (10/5): Lovely rural location and immaculately maintained cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. -
