Guest Reviews
- Amanda (10/5): Beautiful accommodation in countryside settings - A beautiful property with excellent quality of accommodation we would strongly recommend a stay. Everything has been done tastefully with everything you need available for a self catering stay Nothing
- Lynda (10/5): We would definitely recommend the Lambing She’d - A beautiful setting - calm and peaceful and filled with birdsong
Tastefully decorated with all the amenities you need
Great location - easy to get to many of Cornwall’s main attractions
Paula and Peter were excellent hosts - friendly and helpful Loved everything about it! Driving through narrow country lanes could be a little stressful but the charm of the are outweighs any misgivings.
- Tim (10/5): Peaceful, relaxing. Exactly what we wanted. Perfect!. - Had a fabulous stay at The Lambing Shed. Beautiful, peaceful location. Accommodation was Cozy, relaxing and refined and every detail had been thought about. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Hosts Paula & Peter were so welcoming and friendly and really helpful with places to visit or walk.
Couldn’t fault anything at all. Loved every aspect of our time in Cornwall and at The Lambing shed. Would not hesitate to stay again. Nothing. Everything was perfect.

- Amanda (9/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful property - Beautiful property set in impressive, well maintained grounds. So peaceful and surrounded by nature. Easy driving distance to both the north and south coast, beaches and areas of interest.
- Sumithra (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful. - It was well done and comfortable and clean. It’s in an amazing area and farm itself is lovely, would have like to have explored around west carne and Altarnun but the weather made it difficult to do so. Having oven instructions would be useful, took us some time to work it out
- Tristan (10/5): This is the perfect relaxing and restorative holiday retreat in North Cornwall. - The location was lovely as it was quiet and felt like a real escape. It is an easy drive to most attractions and places nearby. We made the most of the recommendations for restaurants and things to do listed by our hosts - all of them fantastic, as were our hosts!
- Greg (10/5): We would definitely recommend the Lambing Shed. - We really enjoyed our stay at the Lambing Shed. The location made it easy to get out and explore the moor and the surrounding area. Peter gave us some great recommendations as well: Bray Down, the shop (post office) & Coffee Cup in Altarnun, and some good farm shop locations. Peter and Paula are very friendly hosts. Nothing, it was great.
- Gary (10/5): - Great accommodation and very friendly and helpful hosts.
- Dian (10/5): We had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to book again! Fantastic property! - The property was immaculate! Extremely tastefully decorated and immaculately clean! It was stocked with everything you would need! The host was extremely attentive and lovely to deal with! Not one thing!
- Pauline (10/5): Hele mooie locatie in een schitterende omgeving een aanrader! - Schitterend omgebouwde schuur.
- Kate (9/5): - Beautiful renovation. Gorgeous bed linen. Well equipped kitchen - very neatly presented.
- Glasgow (10/5): - They had thought of everything, and supplied some nice extras as a welcome gift.

- Nathan (10/5): 4 day bliss holiday - The accommodation was beautiful. Clean and very well decorated, giving it a nice cosy and homely feel.
Paula and Peter were accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Their dogs are also adorable.
It is perfectly situated for all of the places we wanted to visit (Padstow, Polzeath, Tintagel, etc.), plenty of site seeing, and beautiful vistas.
The next visit is already on our agenda, but we will definitely be staying for an extended visit.
Happy memories made. None.
- Karen (9/5): Home from home - Very clean and bed very comfy- had everything needed for short stay.
Host was on location if required.
- Dionne (10/5): The Perfect Place for Exploring Cornwall - What a stunning place to stay and explore Cornwall from. The Lambing Shed is equipped with everything you would need for a vacation and more. The accommodation is beautiful inside and out. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding is high quality. I slept better than I have slept in a while there and waking up to bird song was a joy. I cannot think of anything I would add or change. Loved that there were lots of DVDs to watch.
Spending time outside on the grounds we relaxed on the loungers and went to meet the sheep (who are adorable). We travelled up and down Cornwall from here it was an ideal location.
Paula and her husband were wonderful hosts. Checked in by text to make sure we had everything and were very helpful when we were looking for a beach to body board.
Its certainly somewhere I would stay again. There wasnt anything we didnt like.
- Ann (10/5): A beautiful setting everything was just perfect -
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - What a wonderful place! Everything has been thought of. the location was perfect for us to reach all the beaches, walks and restaurants we wanted to visit. I slept through the night for the first time in many years. The owners are fabulous We liked everything !
- Walid (10/5): Exceptional -

- Ceri (10/5): Amazing, would definitely come back again . - Beautiful property, extremely comfortable with everything you need. Airy in a beautiful setting, decorated to a high standard, perfect place to relax and chill out. Wonderful owners who are not just welcoming but very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!
- Jo (10/5): Stunning accommodation , beautiful grounds , every little detail thought of . Two lovely bedrooms with gorgeous comforta - Beautiful setting , beautifully furnished and decorated to a high standard There was absolutely nothing to dislike
- Anita (9/5): Superb - The Lambing Shed was charming, well equipped and we both loved it. The property is stunning and I can imagine in better weather it would be lovely to get out and have a wander around. The process for getting into the property was straightforward and we had no trouble at all while we were there. I am so torn writing this because I really did love the property so much but the hairy road to the property was definitely not fun. I think this was made worse by the rain and the fact we were driving a sedan. When we were leaving it had been raining over night so we decided to get going early because we were worried about the road. We got to the little bridge into Altarnun and it was flooded!! Thankfully a young man on a tractor met us as we were backing up and told us he thought we could get out another way. We did but it was quite a stressful drive. I don’t want this to put you off the property but more as advice - a four wheel drive will make it easier. We were very lucky that the vehicles we met on the one lane road did have four wheel drives and pulled into the muddy shoulders as I am 100% sure we would have got bogged. I also think it would be way less stressful in drier conditions.
- Jade (10/5): Idyllic, peaceful, cosy, perfection. - Everything about this property was just perfect.
The location was so beautiful, the lambing shed was immaculate with everything you need, with additional special touches throughout.
First impressions from walking through the front door, hot roaring fire, subtle music playing on the radio, smell of citrus and rosemary in the air.
Most comfortable warm bed to sleep in and cosy sofas with blankets to curl up on with a glass of your favourite wine.
When I say it was perfect, it’s only because I can’t find a better word to describe our stay. It was more than what we could have hoped for, on our mini-moon.
Paula was so welcoming and fantastic communication prior to and during our stay. Absolutely wonderful host. Nothing at all!
- Beverly (10/5): A wonderful stay in Cornwall in a beautiful property, a home away from home - The property is superb, it has a homey feel to it. Clean and spacious, modern artistic interiors, every room has so much attention to detail. Great communication from the owners Paula and Peter. Enjoyed the freebies we had when we arrived. Would definitely stay again in the future.
- Mark (10/5): A relaxing, peaceful home-from-home. - If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful stay within a self-contained home-from-home, then The Lambing Shed won’t disappoint. It was well appointed and spotlessly clean, and is obviously a labour of love for the owners, who were very welcoming and affable.
The grounds and setting were delightful, and very conducive to a relaxing stay. We used The Lambing Shed as our base whilst exploring the local area, with Bude, Tintagel and the North coast not far away, and The Eden Project to the South only a 40-minute drive.
Before arrival, the owners provided plenty of useful information, including the best route to get there. I recommend adhering to their directions – The Lambing Shed is in a quiet location, part of its charm, and can be approached from two directions, both narrow / single track roads as you near the locale. Following instruction, coming in from the direction of the Rising Sun Inn (about 1 mile away, East of the Lambing Shed) the roads are narrow, but manageable. Coming in from the West to The Lambing Shed, as forewarned, is an experience, especially in a modern SUV – at points you wonder whether the road is actually too narrow for your car. During our stay we tried this adventurous route, more due to following the SatNav than reckless abandon, and were very glad not to meet any oncoming traffic along the way, and relieved once it was over.
The team of robot gardeners on the grounds also kept us more amused than they perhaps should. They did a grand job. The only stress was from our time driving the aforementioned narrow-pass route, but some may see this a challenge. You have been warned!
- Windksr (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice place to stay with great attention to detail and everything you need. Highly recommended!
- Shaun (9/5): Superb -
- Katie (10/5): This property has everything you could wish for with excellent facilities. - Key safety deposit box around the back of the property. Nothing the whole stay was perfect.
- Sue (10/5): Very comfortable - Not Applicable A 2 mile single track to get to the cottage a bit hairy
- Tracy (10/5): We had a really pleasant stay and would definitely go back again. - The property was very comfortable and tidy, was a great base to get to places! The owners were very friendly. There was nothing not to like it was perfect.
- Allan (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely little cottage with everything we needed. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a break.
- Ellie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andy (9/5): Quiet and relaxing stay - Very well equipped. One of the beds a bit soft
- Alan (9/5): We would definitely come back to the Lambing Shed again. Everything was perfect - It was lovely after a day of exploring Cornwall to come back to accomodation that was so very cosy, clean & comfortable There was nothing not to like 😃
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Really lovely stay at the Lambing Shed. It is a small but well appointed holiday home which has been lovingly restored and beautifully furnished. We’ve already booked to come back! Great location with good access to both the North and South coast, plus the local pub is great. Fab hosts too.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, well equipped and spotlessly clean.Host was helpful and responded promptly to requests and messages.
- Jane (10/5): A perfect place to stay, cosy, quiet and luxurious. We’d definitely come again. - Everything! The cottage was beautifully decorated with very attractive soft furnishings including blankets and cushions in case of the cold. The cottage was clean with all mod cons including great kitchen and bathroom facilities and high quality kitchen crockery and tools. The property owners had thought of every detail for a comfortable stay. Very cosy beds, quiet and dark at night, I often find it hard to sleep away from home but I slept very well. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the property. If we were to ask for recommendations, to be a perfectionist, we would ask for kitchen scissors, another small vegetable cutting knife and an extra loo roll or two but we were definitely able to have a wonderful stay without these things!
- Margaret (9/5): We enjoyed exploring Bodmin Moor from this lovely spot. - Charm, historic richness, peaceful, gorgeous grounds. Appliances somewhat confusing - would recommend clear and instructions for use be made available.
- Raymond (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning cottage. Clean and beautifully decorated. Idyllic location.
- Jackie (10/5): An amazing break, in an amazing place - The property was very clean, there was everything there you could want, it is based in a beautiful area. It is also just as beautiful as it is in the pictures. N/A
- Rebecca (10/5): Brilliant property - The Lambing Shed was clean and beautifully decorated with the freindliest owners who were always willing to help. Nothing.
De nada.
Cant think of anything negative to say.
- Andy (10/5): Short stay next to the moor - Very peaceful location. The accommodation was spotless and all the facilities were good with some nice thoughtful touches - good contact with the owners. Good quality bed linen and comfortable beds. Some good outdoor spaces to sit. The footpath onto the moor can barely be made out, but clambering through some fields and over hedges I made it in the end! Highly recommended. Nothing
- Joanne (10/5): A wonderful property set in a peaceful location. - A wonderful property set in a peaceful location perfectly situated to visit place such as Padstow, Rock & Port Issac. The owners, Paula & Peter, were very welcoming & friendly. The property has a beautifully styled interior and is very well thought out. Perfect for a long weekend or a longer stay.
- Charles (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing visit to Cornwall in a tastefully restored historic barn, away from the crowds. - Initially, the location seemed a bit remote and difficult to find. However, the gorgeous setting of the property in a setting of peace and quiet became our favorite feature.
The hosts, Paula and Peter, were on-site, and always available for a question. We also enjoyed their friendly cocker spaniels. Perhaps more user friendly directions to the house would have helped us. Using the GPS (satnav) with the property location code was utterly reliable, however.
Also, be prepared for one-lane roads with few to no shoulders. The roads are good, however, except those marked “ford.”
