• Inna (9/5): Great home in great location - The property was really lovely, spacious and clean. It was located on a quiet street but only about 5 minute walk to the main strip in the village with all the restaurants and pubs. The only issue we had is there not being laundry detergent. We specifically booked this property for the washer & dryer cause we wanted to wash our clothes midway through our trip. So there not being laundry detergent and needing to buy our own just for a one day use didn’t make sense
• Mary (9/5): nicely furnished cottage in good location with ample parking. Plenty of room. - on a quiet access only road on the hillside, about 5 mins walk down a steepish slope to nearby attractrions and facilities. Note there is a hair dryer and a toaster not mentioned in the guidance notes.

• Sally (10/5): Lovely weekend break - It was lovely, very cozy, clean, modern facilities but all in keeping with the traditional cottage style, perfect for a couple on a weekend break! Walking distance from the shops, cafe, pubs We liked everything!

Everything well thought out, spacious, tastefully appointed & sooo cosy with the woodfire - I'd have stayed longer if I could! Easy walk into the village and nothing to hear but birds twittering (& rain falling). Thanks Mark for being such a welcoming & helpful host! What's not to like? Faultless!!

• tracey (10/5): A must stay! - The cottage is absolutely stunning. Everything you need, very clean, while there i tried to book more dates, but sadly there fully booked. I can't say I didnt like it, but signal wasnt great to get instructions for entering the property, so had to sit in the car for a little while to recieve the text. Maybe send it through booking the day before?

• Marjolein (9/5): Sfeervol verblijf in de Highlands - De sfeer van de cottage. We zochten een sfeervolle accommodatie die paste bij de Schotse Highlands en daar voldeed de Old Croft zeker aan. Het huisje was schoon, de keuken met pannen, servies en ander toebehoren was meer dan compleet. De douche was lekker en er lag voldoende hout om de openhaard aan te steken. De communicatie met Mark, de host, was duidelijk zonder dat wij hem gezien hebben. Er waren grote handdoeken en kleine handdoeken om mee te douchen. De kleine handdoeken waren wat klein waren om de haren mee af te drogen. Er is geen kledingkast

• Barbara (10/5): Perfect property & location in Fort Augustus - They say you get what you pay for and you mostly certainly do at this property - everything you could possibly need, along with the most perfect location! The property was immaculate, and the owner couldn't be more accomodating .. also loved finding out the history behind the property. I certainly will be returning and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!! No complaints whatsover ....

Quello che abbiamo trovato era assolutamente conforme alla descrizione del proprietario. La casa è dotata di tutti gli elettrodomestici e di tutto ciò che che serve per rendere piacevole il soggiorno nella struttura. Ottima posizione a Fort August sufficientemente distante dal centro per non risentire dei rumori del traffico e dell'affollamento, sufficientemente vicino al centro facilmente raggiungibile con una breve passeggiata. Host cortese e disponibile anche se dopo la consegna non abbiamo mai avuto bisogno del suo supporto visto che la struttura era completa di tutto

• Jess (10/5): Comfy old croft in a great location - The house is absolutely gorgeous, in a stunning location and very well equipped. It feels really cosy and homely. The views out of the living room window are absolutely lovely. We managed loads of walks in the area and happened to get pretty lucky with the weather. The shower is great, super hot and really good pressure (the towl heater was alway on too, which was a lovely touch!) Fully equipped kitchen which made eating in really easy. Brilliant wi-fi! Weirdly, the thing that impressed me the most was the bedding! So soft and luxurious.Also, thank you for the heavy curtains! Not always a given, but really help with a good night's sleep. The house was spotless, really nice and clean...ready to enjoy. Mark was great, easy to contact and helpful. I'm sorry to read in other reviews that the information booklet has been stolen... it really would be useful. Some things are just not intuitive (tv/washing machine) though we did work them out. Maybe a QR code to instructions? It would also have been nice to find a couple of other "bits" on arrival (we bought fabric softner and washing liquid but used the washing machine once). Definitely not complaints, just suggestions for an EVEN more enjoyable stay.
• Kristian (9/5): Superb - It was a very clean property, with all the necessary amenities. The house is great, you can feel the authenticity, which blends really well with the view and Fort Augustus as a whole. For some people it maybe too expensive.
• Amanda (9/5): Superb - We were very comfy and found everything very clean and in good condition. We had plenty of space to park our van and room to unload and park our motorbike. Mark was very helpful and quick to reply.

• Kelly-anne (10/5): Very cosy, nice features, comfy bed! - Location was excellent! So easy to get into Fort Augustus to explore and easy to get onto any motorway to explore a little farther afield. The view of the mountains from the back of the property was lovely too. Loved the layout with open concept living and kitchen facilities and although not needed, the included washer and dryer was a great touch. Mark was easy to contact and responsive. We would HAPPILY stay there again if we're back in the area. FYI, a throw or blanket would be a nice addition for cuddling while watching telly :) The only downsides would be to have a space for clothes. Hangers are provided but you cannot hang all your clothes. We managed to use the window ledges to keep our clothes on but had we been staying for longer than 2 nights, we would have needed more space. We also had issues with the TV/remote. The TV could not be turned off via the remote, we had to turn off the power via the outlet. Outside of this, the property was fabulous. We really liked the place!

On arrival there was an issue with the toilet flush, however the owner responded instantly when I contacted them & arrived a few minutes later to fix it.

• Hadley (10/5): This is an excellent home and located really well for Fort Augustus and the surrounding areas. We t - Location of this property is superb. Definitely better than staying at Fort William! It was ideal for the two of us and thoughtfully designed and kitted out. A short walk (down a steep slope) the the canal and local facilities. Easy parking A name on the front of the property - I had to take a peek in the mail box and check a letter to ensure I had the correct address. Being a little picky (sorry) perhaps a tab/capsule to do a clothes wash? There were tabs for the dishwasher which were greatly appreciated.

• Maria (10/5): We had a wonderful stay and will definitely rebook. - The Old Croft is a wee gem. It's amazing value for money, and in a great location: just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Fort Augustus with it's shops and eateries, but tucked out of the way in a quiet spot w its own parking. The property was spotless, with bright modern furnishings, and all the homely touches you need including brand new kitchen and bathroom with an amazing shower, and fresh bright bedding and super soft towels. It also had a beautiful character with its stone walls and wood burner. It was snug, relaxing and very comfortable. We loved it. I struggled to get the TV to work (total user error 🤣) but host Mark promptly responded to my message and we got it sorted within minutes.

• Alice (9/5): Georgeous, peaceful croft - Lovely secluded location away from the coach trips, very easy access to the great glen way, but also a quick walk into fort augustus. The croft itself was very nicely finished, with really cosy feel. The washer and dryer would be fantastic if the weather was bad, and there was even a dishwasher! The bed was a little uncomfortable for us - in particular I would have preferred much softer pillows.
• Janet (9/5): Superb - Lovely comfortable quiet accommodation. Just enough away from the main village to make it an ideal quiet setting. Everything you could think of was provided. The only negative was nothing to do with the accommodation, it was just that we found it difficult to find somewhere within walking distance that could cater for my being gluten intolerant and the local shop didn't have a great deal I could eat either, although it was well stocked. I would say go prepared with food you can prepare yourself if you have any food issues. The kitchen is very well equipped.

We have travelled to a lot of places around Scotland and we both agreed that the Old Croft is exceptional and outstanding. Situated near to Fort Augustus town centre, the Old Croft is a cosy house which was perfect for our weekend. The inside is beautiful and very comfortable. Couldn't recommend more highly!
• Liz (8/5): Beautiful and relaxing! - Amazing location, beautiful views, really well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge area. Host was really helpful and responsive. The only slight thing was that there was very limited clothes storage (hooks and coat hangers only). A small chest of drawers would have really helped.

The bed is a double, new and very comfortable with quality linens. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom with decent water pressure. The kitchen is well appointed. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe, a very short walk to shops and restaurants. The only small thing that could have been improved was some ice in the freezer for evening drinks when we arrived.

• Steve (9/5): Cosy cottage in a good location - We loved the real fire and a good amount of logs were left. The place was spotless and well equipped. Would have liked some instruction booklets for kitchen equipment and there was no welcome / local information book. The one thing we really struggled with was the bed it is just a standard double which is unusual these days and it affected our sleep with the lack of room.

Loved the wood burning fire place. Kitchen has everything you’d need. Hosts were quick to respond to questions. Easy to find and get in as we arrived late Friday night.
