Guest Reviews
- Karen Baker (10/5): - lively big house plenty of space as there was 10 of us and lovely bedrooms and other rooms plus a movie room n/A
- Mayne (8/5): Spacious large house in a great location . - Great location being less than 5 minutes walk into Skipton. Large spacious well presented house.
Lounge was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The Cinema room in the semi- basement was a novelty for the children.
The conservatory at the back is small but very pleasant.
The beds were comfortable and the linen and towels of hood quality. This house is large but of an age not to have parking. We understood this, but with 3 cars, it was a concern. We did find spaces on adjacent roads. Fortunately we were then not using them for the rest of our short break.
The house has 4 large double bedrooms and 1 twin. Two of the doubles have en-suite showers rooms that are quite small. There is a further large shower room and a large bathroom.
The kitchen is in need of a refurb and would benefit from an inventory check as there were obviously some items missing. Fine for a short break.
There is no downstairs toilet for those less mobile
- Jackie (8/5): We had a lovely stay here and found the house to be spacious and comfortable. We parked outside the house and walked eve - We found the house to be very spacious, comfortable and centrally located. We managed to park on the road outside the house. Issues were dealt with promptly however the loft twin room window needed to be replaced so unfortunately that room could not be used. The house was very warm.
- Anne (8/5): Great stay for a family get together - The house was in a great location within just a few minutes of Skipton town centre and also handy for Tesco. The bed in the back on the first floor was really uncomfortable and squeaked at the tiniest movement which kept us awake
- Nicola (8/5): Great location, lovely house - Lovely big property plenty of space, everything you need in a very central location Not great for young children because of the stairs the gaps between the spindles were too big my children could put their heads through them.
- Karen (10/5): Beautiful big house, great location, great movie theatre - Lovely house - really big, plenty of room and the teenagers loved the movie theatre and having the top floor to themselves. It’s in a great location just a few hundred metres and you are in the centre of town. Lovely walks along the canal.
The hosts were really helpful and went out of their way to help make sure our stay was great. And it was lovely and toastie and warm even when it was minus 5 outside! Nothing - all good.
- Rachel (8/5): Good comfortable Christmas stay - Large, well decorated house with comfy beds. Good location. Hosts had great communication and were very responsive when we needed to resolve questions. A few more kitchen utensils and cookware would have improved the cooking experience. Especially for Christmas dinner!
- jacqueline (10/5): -
- Jack (10/5): Brilliant house, perfect for large groups! - The property was in a brilliant location, very central and had all the facilities we needed. Sophie was brilliant and only a phone call away. Very helpful and lovely! Parking, only issue.
- Joseph (9/5): We had a great family get together - The showers
- Joanne (8/5): - Lovely spacious house. Great location, close to town.
- Claire (8/5): Pleasant stay, reasonably priced. - Large enough for big group including children. Beds comfortable. Parking was difficult, especially with children. Be prepared to park on side streets away from the house. Kitchen could have been slightly better equipped (all knives also blunt).
- David (9/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): Fantastic few days. - Cinema room was great. All clean and as promised. Great location.
- Kirsty (9/5): Great stay - Lovely, great location, clean and well equipped Maybe a couple of chairs in the back way and an ashtray lol
- Kimberley (7/5): Good - Spacious home, comfortable beds, great location. Sufficient kitchen equipment. Parking was difficult.
Showers could do with modernizing.
Floors appeared to have not been hoovered for a while.
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional - Great property, ideal location, great price Nothing’s
- James (9/5): Great accommodation for a group of friends doing the Yorkshire Three peaks. - Good location No private parking but always found something close by
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ailsa (9/5): good - It was an excellent location but a lot of steps out the front of the property and no downstairs loo.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Priyendu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (10/5): We all loved it! It was more than we could have hoped for! - Spacious rooms, nicely kitted out. Everything was supplied that was needed in kitchen and bedrooms. Central heating worked. Good system with key safe. Free parking. Hot water. En-suites were a bit snug, but family bathroom was great. Maybe put in the information folder about recycling waste?
- Will (9/5): Superb - Great location, spacious, comfortable, good communication Too hot during the night. Couldn't adjust the temperature. The only thing we could find fault with, it's a lovely home.
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (8/5): Very good -
- Kirsty (10/5): Well worth it. Beautiful! - They had thought of everything. Even the little touches of christmas decorations and a tree, which was beautiful for the grandchildren. 🎄
The movie theatre was a hit with the kids, they could watch their own movie with their popcorn. Just an extra special bonus. 🍿🎥❤️
- Gill (10/5): Exceptional - The house was a very short walk to centre of Skipton. It was perfect for a large group of friends with every facility provided and Sophie was a great host. The house was spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable. Would highly recommend. Nothing !
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was spot on.
- Hannah (10/5): fabulous!! - stunning house, perfect location, the cinema room is a really cool addition!
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (8/5): Really enjoyed it , wanted some family time away from the daily grind - Great location , very spacious , cinema room was awesome The sofas in the front room not very comfy
- Amy (8/5): great no issues with anything.... - everything great location into the town.
- Rachel (9/5): Lovely group stay perfect for a family holiday - Lovely home, super convenient to the centre of Skipton. Friendly management, comfortable beds, perfect for large groups Firestick broken so movie room out of order most of our stay. No tea towels in the kitchen. Some of the kitchenware have seen better days (wooden spatula, etc)
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Askelsdottir (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, very easy to find and be in contact with them. They saved us after our other accommodation fell through last minute which was amazing! Everything we needed was provided and we were very comfortable staying there The tv did not always work well and one of the beds was not the best (but all the others were great)
- Joanne (8/5): Extremely enjoyable despite the accessibility issues. - Brylie house is centrally located. The house is beautiful and the owner has made great use of the available spaces. The beds were comfortable and the whole place was very clean. The conservatory was very calming and this is where we spent most of our time. Plenty of hot water. Lovely clean bed linen and towels. The tea coffee and biscuits are a lovely touch and we were glad of the toilet paper, hand soap and washing up liquid as we forgot these.
It would be nice if there was bread knife available although we were very impressed with amount of kitchen equipment. The host, although we never met her, was very quick and polite to answer any questions we sent as message. We found that only one dish towel and one hand towel in the kitchen wasn’t enough, even drying them in the conservatory constantly.
The Recycling bins are not labeled. If you are not from this area, you don’t know what to recycle and how to split it.
Our party consisted of 3 people with limited ability who would have found a hand rail (similar to the b&b next door) on the front steps extremely helpful. These people unfortunately could not access the Movie Theatre as there wasn’t a hand rail on those stairs.
Both Front bedrooms with en-suite doors could do with opaque glass or some sort of masking for privacy. The top floor bathroom fan doesn’t work.
It would have been better if there were clear specific instructions in the file or out on display for the TV and fire.
The window cleaner arrived at 5am ish on Thursday Morning, some of our party left their leave your window open, which meant anything left on the window cill got wet. Maybe a note with the date and time the window cleaner is expected and a warning to keep the bedroom windows closed would have helped.
All in all a pleasant stay although fortunately 2 of our party dropped out so there was only 8 of us as the double bed on the top floor room is not really accessible for 2 people because of the roof. Also the cord from the window is dangerously hanging down. That really needs tying up.
This comment is totally out of the hosts hands but I think the advert needs to make people aware that the parking could be a problem and it is on a very very busy road so getting out of the car onto the road is very dangerous more so if you have a elderly, disabled person or child/children.
- Derek (9/5): Wonderful stay. - A lovely fully equipped house with everything you need. Spacious, comfortable and a great location 3 minute walk to the town and the canal, 5 minute drive to raven tree top adventure. A couple of technical issues that were dealt with and resolved promptly by the friendly hosts. Nothing not to like 👍
- Peta (7/5): Really beautiful house, fully equipped for a short stay in Skipton - The location was ideal. Only a short walk into town. Information with the heating instructions that all the radiators had been turned off. We sat and froze for a while until we realised!
- Marianne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (9/5): Two young families catching up - lovely break - Plenty of room, everything you could wish for in terms of facilities.
Great location Perhaps blackout blinds to the front would be good but not a massive issue.
- Katherine (10/5): Absolutely perfect! - Great house, lovely condition/facilities and a perfect walk to Skipton! The cinema room was a great addition and the bedrooms were fab! The owners were so unbelievably helpful and very responsive with any questions - we all absolutely loved our stay! Nothing!
- Sophie (10/5): Great house and the owner was so lovely xx - The location was great. Bedrooms all big. Kitchen great and had everything we needed. Nice big dining table. Cinema room was awesome! The sofas in the front room were not mega comfy. Only my personal preference as I like a deep sofa and to be able to put my legs up where as you had to sit up straight on these! That was the only thing I’d change for it to be perfection xx
- Scotty (10/5): Exceptional - The house was homely, felt nothing like a rental. Spotlessly clean throughout.
- Jenny (9/5): Superb - Perfect location to spend with family and friends. Parking was very limited especially for our number of cars.
- Delwynn (8/5): Very good - Communication with owner was timely. Response to questions answered promptly.
Location close to Town centre.
Beds very comfy and clean. Information file could have had more information in it. i.e. more info regarding movie room and how to operate equipment. Also where the movie room was located. Also about recycling boxes and alternative parking if not able to park in front of the house.
- Susan (9/5): Great location, lovely house and very warm too! - Sofas were not brilliantly comfortable
- Stacy (7/5): It was adequate for our needs. - It was central and fitted us all in. Not enough storage to hang coats etc. the en-suites were small and having a window in the door wasn’t great. It would have been better if we had another room with single beds, perhaps this can be offered in the future.
- Sharon (9/5): Lovely house, suited all our needs - Very spacious and well appointed The road was a busy road but you didn’t hear it from inside the house
- Rebecca (9/5): Would recommend for a group get together - perfect for our friends get together. Just a short walk to the town centre. would recommend
- Lynne (10/5): Exceptional - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If I had any criticisms , it was that it was too warm. Too cold outside to open a window so we all roasted ! The other were the pillows... They were like giant marshmallows. One was not enough to enjoy a good nights sleep and two meant you were sat upright. They are the only negatives. House is beautiful. Well equipped and homely. Check in/out worked well. Would highly recommend this property.
- Dawn (8/5): Very good -
- Rachael (9/5): Superb - Perfect size house and location for my bridal wedding party. Communication was always efficient We did have a couple of issues with the WiFi, however as soon as we raised this issue someone came and sorted it
- Kevin (10/5): Can't wait to go back - The house was spacious, clean and had everything we needed during our stay.
Sophie was awesome to deal with and we're already looking to book for our next visit. From one of the other guests.....Lack of ghosts made it a little less appealing but other than that it was spot on.
- Claire (7/5): Good - Great space and comfortable beds! The bathroom sinks weren't overly clean (hairs). There were also left cleaning rags on the sofa in the front living room.
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (9/5): fantastic - loads of bathrooms liked everything about it - got cars parked ok and very central to skipton - a separate toilet
on the ground floor would have been good -
only to save our legs going upstairs !!
- John (8/5): Comfortable facilities in a prime location. - Spacious, well located property. The beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms with ensuite essential given the number staying. It seemed clean throughout. The top bathroom toilet could not be flushed without removing the cistern. Also, although we didn’t use it we were concerned about the safety of the cooker. This was raised with the cleaner on the day of leaving. Although capable of taking a good number of people, the cost at £450 a night seemed a little excessive; particularly as it wasn’t high season.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (9/5): lovely spring break in skipton - spacious property, kids loved the movie room, we stayed over Easter and did an Easter egg hunt, this was perfect as the property over 4 floors. owner excellent with responses no dedicated parking, but easy to find some and can drive behind house to unload
- Elané (9/5): Superb - Location was ideal for an easy walk into town. There was parking right outside the house, however was not sure if a resident permit would be required during the day. The house had a very clean, fresh feel and the rooms were simply, but beautifully decorated. There was no milk available for a hot drink and there were no shampoo or soap for showers.
The pillows were very high and uncomfortable to sleep on, it would be great if there could have been a lower option.
- Chloeoeo (10/5): Lovely house close to the centre of Skipton - Lovely house in a great location. Very comfortable, newly refurbished, free parking outside. Couldn't ask for anything more. Nothing!
