Guest Reviews
- Herman (3/5): Niet prettig - De host is vriendelijk en doet z’n best Muf vochtig souterrain. Rommelig, onafgewerkt. Niet aangenaam. Dichtstbijzijnde restaurant is 35 minuten lopen.

- Daria (9/5): - It was a great stay during Camino, to have a house and small garden just for myself. The house is not new, but it was clean and had everything that you need. Including beautiful dinnerware. There is also an option to order dinner and breakfast. I had a dinner and it was really great! The owner is helpful and nice, definitely recommend to stay

Skvělá sprcha a fén.

- Jane (8/5): Great location, nice hosts, comfortable stay - The location of this apartment is extremely beautiful right by a beach! and figuring out where to go was super easy via WhatsApp messaging with the host. Our group stayed while walking the Camino and the host was extremely friendly and helpful, offering optional dinner and recommendations for grocery stores and breakfast places in the area, as well as accommodating for our needs. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was utilized. It felt clean. It was a great spot to stay during our journey. Not much to complain about, except for the kitchen having minimal utensils for cooking / eating. The place has a slight smell of mildew but this is expected for a lower floor so close to the ocean.

Dicht bij camino. Mindere ventilatie

- Cornelia (1/5): Hände weg von diesen Angebot - Absolut nichts Komplett schlecht !!
Sowas von runtergekommen!! Kann man keinen Menschen zumuten!!
Überall Schimmel
Lose Steckdose im Bad , kaputte Wände , muffiger Geruch , fleckige Badewanne , Kaputte Fliesen , dreckige Toilette einfach alles abgewohnt !!
- Matthew (7/5): - Very serviceable accommodations for a stay along the Camino de Santiago. I truly enjoyed talking with the owner, even though my Spanish is very limited. Had an excellent Spanish Tortilla (possibly the best I've ever had) as the available dinner (extra cost) The bathroom floor drain smelled a bit, which I solved for the duration of my stay by putting several wet paper towels over the drain.
- Caron (7/5): A comfortable and welcoming stop - We enjoyed the experience of what is an apartment attached to a family home - no problems regarding privacy, and we appreciated the early access on our earlier-than-expected arrival. Communications were really good. Also appreciated the home-cooked meal made for us, and the available beverages.
- Marie (5/5): - The owner was kind and alerted us to the fact that there were no shops close by
He offered dinner
There was wine , water and beers…. Doesn’t like the look of it
Looked like an out building
Nervous when I saw it from the outside
Looks neglected from the outside
Bath was painted to cover dirt

- Francesco (8/5): - Struttura familiare molto accogliente e disponibile. Consigliata. Ottima base di partenza migliorabile in alcuni aspetti.

- Lisa (6/5): If you love rural, rustic and want a budget friendly stay, this place is for you. - This rustic apartment is situated in a small village off the Camino trail. It is a rural setting which my kids enjoyed. The host was kind and offered suggestions for our morning departure. The bedding felt damp as soon as we opened the apartment. We opened all the windows which helped the dampness but then about 20 flies came in.
- Theoriginaltravellerman (8/5): Very good -
- O' (8/5): Very good - The apartment is fine, and it was lovely and cool after a hot day walking. It's not fancy, but it's great value and suited a group of 4 in our early 20s walking the Camino perfectly. The host was so friendly and helpful, cannot speak positively enough about him! The scratching noise coming from the garage is some kind of strange hen in a cage, don't worry about it
- Andrzej (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bronislava (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy apartment, local dinner from owners. It was like spend time in my grandparents house.
- Adam (1/5): Give this place a wide bearth - It’s very close to the Camino It’s damp and smelly, we stayed around an hour and decided to find something else. My Ukrainian walking partner learnt the meaning of the English word skanky the afternoon we turned up here
- Konstantin (8/5): Very good -
- Nolan (10/5): Exceptional - The host was incredibly helpful and kind, going above and beyond to create a truly unique and memorable experience in his little town.
- Jenny (3/5): Pretty grim, didn't sleep, was glad to leave. Could but a great place with a refurb - Didn't have breakfast. Location OK. Communication from owner good and helpful via whatsapp message. Not clean. No toilet paper. It was pretty grim. Mouldy fruit in bowl. Bathroom poor.
- Tina (8/5): Very good - Very nice place, lot of space.
- Silva (7/5): A place with potential - This is a simple place with potential. The hosts are very kind. Although I didn't have the pleasure of meeting them in person, they provided plenty of information and responded promptly to any questions. They also offered a lot of useful advice. They were some of the most helpful and kind hosts on the Camino!
I’m not giving a high rating because, when I arrived (on a wet day), the house felt quite damp, as it’s located in a basement. I am a bit allergic, and this affected me. There was a dehumidifier, which helped, but the dampness remained, and the bathroom was smelly until we removed the mat. On a better day, I would have had a much better impression and given a higher mark!
Yet, a lot is good: the beds were comfortable, the sheets were clean, and we slept very well!
Minor improvements could make a big difference. A bit of decluttering, fixing a few broken switches, and repairing the window shutters would greatly help. Unfortunately, these small details give a first impression of neglect, and first impressions matter, somewhat tainting what was overall a pleasant stay.
That said, as I said, the hosts care a lot.
They also offered a dinner delivery option (soup and tortilla), which was tasty, and a very helpful service given the limited dining choices and lack of shops nearby.
The location is in an unremarkable village, but it’s very conveniently situated for those walking the Camino. There don't seem to be many great alternatives in the area, so this house is very well worth considering!
With a bit more attention to detail, this space could maximise its potential, and easily get higher marks! Oh, and on a sunny day, you can also enjoy the small garden outside—a lovely, relaxing spot after a long walk!
- Helliwell (7/5): Good - Lovely location. Dinner was delicious The drains did not work well
- Ruth (8/5): Very good -
- Joseph (7/5): Needs some upgrades - No lights in bathroom or kitchen. Wifi wasn't connected and needed some huge upgrades. Host was extremely nice and very helpful. Just put money and effort in and it will be a great spot for Camino pilgrims to rest.
- Naomi (2/5): Damp - Plenty of space. There was a problem with plumbing and water came up through the bathroom floor. It was damp with mould on the walls. There were a lot of flies.
- Gergana (7/5): Good - Cosy apartment with garden.
Very friendly hosts.
Good location. Rooms was a little damp inside.
- Olesia (10/5): Exceptional - We were staying in Casa do Civil for 3 days. It was amazing to stay in beautiful place with ocean from one side and mountains from another. Our host Benancio was super attentive to our family and helpful in every needed question. He even could organize a perfect excursion by his car to the mountains to see wild horses here. Children enjoyed swimming pool as well. We also could make a perfect grill in this booking. Nice place to stay and relax😍
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Sergei (7/5): Good overnight - Good for overnight stay, low noise (can be noisy if dogs from neighbor start barking) High level of humidity, may be cold in the night, NO SHOPS NEARBY! But some food provided by the landlords for additional payment
- Muriel (8/5): Rural and quiet. Very kind host! - Our Host was amazing. We walked the camino with 2 of our grandchildren. Our host so kindly drove us to a little store to buy some food. She showed our grandson the animals (the property is rural and has farm animals). She was so friendly! It had been a rainy day and we were a bit chilled. The house was a little damp and hard to warm up. But we did fine.. The kindess from our hosts warmed our hearts :-)
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional - What absolutely amazing hospitality! We were made so welcome, I've never experienced anything like it. These are the kindest hosts who are justifiably proud of their community and environment, and seem to really enjoy sharing it. The setting is beautiful, and just a quick little walk up the road from the Camino. The directions based on Booking.com led us to the intersection of the main road and the road the house is located on, though the house is just a little way up the road. Luckily a friendly neighbor helped us find the right location. Could be just us being addled, but for future visitors, go up the road to a house that has the lot # 15 at the road, go into the driveway and around the back of the house to the suite entrance at ground level.
- Plilikoi (8/5): Good value and close to the camino - Close to the camino, very good value for money, kind owners, close to a restaurant. It's a bit higgledy-piggledy. There's no bedroom door, the kitchen light switch is behind a coat rack next to the front door. It got hidden by hanging clothes and we had to ask its location. We ran out of toilet paper but, fortunately, my wife was carrying some. I almost fell while walking out of the kitchen because the step down isn't obvious. We moved a rug to highlight the transition. There's no WiFi.
- David (8/5): Very good -
