Guest Reviews
- Jade (9/5): Very well refurbished room with character and comfort. Best quality pub in Glasto. - Helpful and friendly staff who also allowed luggage storage for the day, even after checking out. Attention to detail in pub space and room demonstrated highest quality available compared to other pubs visited in Glasto. Relaxed and friendly vibe in the bar.

- kim (9/5): A pleasant surprise - The room was well equipped. Decor, well presented with lovely colourful textiles. Comfy bed meant a good nights sleep.
Bathroom, clean with lovely sun pipe giving natural light great contemporary tiles and warm brass fittings. Tea tray had a great selection, biscuits and local bottled water.
Private entrance a bonus.
Great breakfast served in the sister hotel.
Definitely would stay again
- Christina (10/5): Lovely accommodation in friendly pub - Lovely room, clean and nicely decorated. View of St Benedict's church from my window. Very quiet at side away from the road. Pub downstairs was not at all noisy, really delicious vegan and gluten free options for evening dining and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast at Crown pub up the road didn't have any gluten free options.
- David (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, good location. Nice location
- Greg (10/5): Ine of the best short stays we have had. - This is a beautiful facility, kudos to the designers. Well appointed and very comfortable. Exceptional staff interaction at all points.
- Sian (9/5): -
- kristel (10/5): Cosy - Great breakfast, great shower, lots of pillows, friendly staff and generous tea/coffee bar
- Bethany (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and clean, thoughtfully furnished and with a comfortable bed. Very convenient location. Breakfast options were great. Would definitely stay here again!
- Yvette (8/5): - Lovely big bright room, we an excellent shower. Great location too. It was slightly annoying to have to eat breakfast at another hotel although the food there was excellent and it was only a 2 minute walk.
- Lourdes (9/5): -
- Trussell (9/5): Really enjoyed the stay. - Breakfast was brilliant, room was very clean and comfortable. Beds lovely, shower very powerful. Coffee machine nice touch. check out was a little strange as pub is closed so need to wait for a staff member to appear. But not a massive issue
- Amy (9/5): Loved it - Gorgeous hotel- beautifully decorated and very clean. Perfect central location for exploring, easy walk to the Tor and the breakfast was amazing!! Really great vegan options too. Super impressed I’ll definitely be staying again. Slightly noisy- if you’re a light sleeper I’d take earplugs as it gets loud at pub let out time and we could hear the next room’s TV quite clearly.

- Ursula (9/5): Jederzeit wieder….Glastonbury is really special!
- Caroline (10/5): A happy and comfortable stay in a bright and cheery venue. - Breakfast was delicious and my porridge was so pretty that I was tempted to take a photo! The staff were friendly and helpful; the room was cosy and comfortable; and as a solo female traveller, I felt very safe.
- Jon (10/5): - Perfect location, wonderful, friendly staff, very comfortable, super clean room and an amazing breakfast at the Crown. Couldn't be better!
- Nadina (9/5): - Location, cleanliness, size of the room and very comfortable.
- Jamie (10/5): Wonderful. - Lovely, lively, local pub. Was fantastic. Nothing.
- Chris (9/5): A comfortable hotel well located in town - We arrived slightly before check in time but were welcomed by Jason (Justin?) who assisted with suitcase and showed us to our room. The room was very comfortable and well appointed with a large shower in the bathroom.
I also met the manager, Tom, who was very helpful and professional. I expected there to be some hotel parking but we managed to park immediately opposite and because everything we needed to visit, White Chapel and Tor are within easy walking distance we didn't need to move the car.
Breakfast is at a "sister" hotel, The Crown, which is just a couple of minutes walk and was a good breakfast with options for all tastes.
- Stacey (10/5): -
- Evelyne (9/5): Nice cosy room in a friendly atmosphere - Interieur, inrichting, vriendelijk personeel
- BURCU (10/5): -
- Terence (10/5): Superb luxurious stay in the heart of Glastonbury. - Very convenient location in heart of Glastonbury. Decor of both rooms and bar/restaurant rooms excellent. Great atmosphere too. Breakfast had to be taken at The Crown sister hotel about 2 minutes walk away but it was well worth it. A superb freshly cooked feast in lovely surroundings.
Additionally the booking staff went the extra mile to re-arrange our booking when we had to cancel due to illness. The staff we met in the Mitre were all super friendly and helpful. We were told they are up for a national award and can see why. Well done!
- Colwill (10/5): Faultless and I look forward to returning. - I had previously eaten dinner at The Mitre and it was exceptional.
My son lives in Glastonbury and I was coming to visit for 2 days , remembered that you had rooms and promptly booked in.
I will definitely come again.
The manager who I am ashamed to admit , I have forgotten his name is brilliant and is a real asset to the business. All the rest of the staff were great. My only slight criticism is the pillows are not that great, but as I tend to bring my own pillow with me it was not a problem
- Pilar (10/5): - Frienly staff; super clean, and lovely decor; great location All fine
- Lorraine (7/5): -
- Hampton (10/5): -
- Grazyna (10/5): Excellent - Everything Maybe going to another hotel for breakfast

- Fowler (10/5): Warm friendly staff, perfect locaion. - Warm and friendly staff, and beautiful spacious room. Perfect location for wandering around glastonbury. nothing at all!
- anya (10/5): Comfy - accommodating- lovely rooms and love the decor - Was great all round No one there to checkout in the morning so just left my card
- Alexandra (7/5): A little frustrating…..really wanted to love it…. - Really lovely staff, very kind and welcoming
The whole place was very comfortable They have a wonderful menu, however, I could not enjoy it, as most of the dishes are prepared using table salt, which is poisonous to health….I did have an excellent steak which was about the only dish they could offer me without table salt…really disappointing and also frustrating, …I do not understand why people cannot use healthy salt which is pure…
My room was next to a boiler or a big fan which went on all night, so unfortunately, as lovely as the room was, I did it get any sleep…
- Pallavi (10/5): - The rooms, the staff 💖
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- David (10/5): Comfortable and peaceful - Location was perfect. Breakfast was 5 star Everything was fine
- Adamandia (10/5): - The rooms were so comfortable- dinner was amazing & the staff warm & helpful- special thanks to Chess
- Gemma (10/5): - Cozy rooms, lovely staff, great breakfast included, perfect location. Nothing
- Kyle (9/5): Fresh and friendly inn - Great little place -- the staff are absolutely wonderful. So friendly and helpful. There's no front desk as such, more just the bar but they're always willing to help and make your stay comfortable. We were in town for a friend's anniversary during the Christmas period, so didn't get to dine at the Mitre, but we did have drinks and it was nice to just sit by the fire and people watch. We requested a double bed and were given two singles pushed together -- not always fun when you're travelling with your partner. The Mitre staff rectified this for night two by zipping them together. Other than this, everything was lovely.
- Andrew (10/5): Great central location, property and decor very good quality all the staff were friendly. - Already booked the same room for a visit again for the frost fayre in November.
- Helen (10/5): Very welcoming and helpful, providing secure storage overnight for my bicycle. - Very welcoming and helpful, providing secure storage overnight for my bicycle.
- Jessie (7/5): Lovely pub rooms - wish they had more staff so they weren't so stressed - The breakfast is always amazing - its in their sister hotel/pub. My favourite bit of the stay. The room was clean and bathroom had lovely towels. I felt very stressed on arrival as our key fob didn't work and because they are running a busy pub they really don't have time to deal with issues. I felt like I was in the way, an inconvenience. The room we were in is above a noisy street - for a light sleeper earplugs are required.
- Suan (8/5): -
- Patrick (10/5): -
- Christine (8/5): - Fab location Breakfast being on another site
- Sara (9/5): -
- Amy (10/5): - The staff were really friendly and helpful
- Lisa (9/5): A peaceful nights rest in the heart of Glastonbury - Good central location, just off the main street with very friendly staff. A quiet and peaceful stay. Room was lovely and clean. Excellent breakfast and coffee in the sister hotel around the corner. Would definitely stay here again. Could be improved by adding feather (or just heavier) duvets to the single beds and by increasing the water pressure in the shower, but these are minor issues.
- Rosalyn (10/5): -
- Jane (10/5): Great place to stay in the heart of Glastonbury - we will be back! - Our room at the Mitre Inn was clean, warm, well lit and very comfortable. Great shower in the bathroom. Easy to park nearby and breakfast just down the road at the Crown was excellent.
- Mark (9/5): A clean friendly and welcoming inn. - We loved the Mitre Inn. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the room was spotless and recently decorated. Very interesting breakfast menu at the Crown sister hotel nearby, and excellent roasts for dinner. Just a small thing. As the kitchen hours at the Mitre are more limited than at the Crown at weekends, it would be handy to have a note of the hours (and maybe sample menus for both) in the information folder.
- Paul (10/5): -
- Patrick (7/5): Good for short stay in Glastonbury - Room was lovely. Food in pub downstairs great. Location great. Staff friendly. Noise from pub downstairs until closing time.
- diana (9/5): - La decoración
- Nicola (7/5): Lovely staff, great location but didn’t sleep well because of noise & uncomfortable bed. - Lovely friendly welcoming staff. Great central location. Room recently decorated & looked nice. Convenient having restaurant downstairs. Incredibly noisy, both from pub downstairs & on the street outside. Very hard to sleep till early hours. Uncomfortable bed & quality of pillows & bed linen not good. Too expensive. Inconvenient having to go somewhere else for the breakfast.

No me pareció profesional
- John (8/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): - The staff were super helpful and friendly
- Sara sullivan (10/5): -
- Sharyn (10/5): -
- Margaret (10/5): Needed a one night stay-great value. - The food in the Pub was exceptional. N/A
- Liga (8/5): -
- Erika (10/5): -
- TINA (10/5): Great place - This was an absolutely darling Inn, I would absolutely stay again! Decor, location, staff and food were all above expectations!
- Catherine (10/5): Couldn't have asked for a better experience. - Loved the location, just off the main square, so it was quiet. Best 2 nights' sleep on my travels. Staff was lovely and genuine. Food was amazing--locally sourced fruit, veg, meat.
- diana (10/5): Muy agradable y acogedor! - La decoración Nada
- Simone Alexandra (9/5): -
- susan casey (10/5): Can't fault - Exceptionally clean. Friendly staff. Room was ready so able to get early check in. Definitely stay again. Very near to everything you need. Everything perfect. Would prefer for breakfast ordinary bread not sourdough
- Mark (10/5): Beautiful space, fantastic location and overall perfect getaway. - Stunning space with lounge and upstairs bedroom, exemplary modern fit out and refurbished space. Parking outside front door, next to main pub / restaurant but quiet. Loved it. Nothing
- Barbara (7/5): - I liked the room and breakfast at the Crown was very good. Generous with tea, coffee etc. I liked the real flowers and a proper mug. It was slightly noisy at night - sounded like some fan or heating system was going all night.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Lovely newly-decorated and spotlessly clean historic inn, nice bar, good food, friendly staff, tasty breakfast at their sister property a block away. Really central location. Parking in public carpark two blocks away.
- Gemini (10/5): 10/10 in all areas, staff wonderfully accommodating too - Immaculate, gorgeous decor, comfy beds, great location and fab staff.. breakfast was delicious. It was class Honestly… I can’t think of a single thing. One of the most positive experiences I’ve had.
- Simon (10/5): Excellent stay in newly refurbished pub - Lovely place, super modern and recently renovated. It even has micro USB ports which is rare! Staff team were great and friendly - it’s a lovely place and great central spot if you are staying in town.
- Dearbhla (10/5): Excellent - Beautiful room, very comfortable, clean and modern. Staff were amazing, so kind and helpful! Nothing!
- Moreno (7/5): -
- Philip (10/5): -
- Simon (8/5): -
- Giselle (10/5): Would definitely recommend - Staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early but they still allowed us into our rooms which were very clean and well presented. Weather was hot and they had supplied us with a fan too. Facilities were brilliant. Couldn't fault the stay Only issue was no onsite Parking but we were lucky to grab a space nearby
- Grant (8/5): Good overall stay, needed air con. - Good Location in centre of Town, good access to the bar facilities with selection of beers and nice food.
Room was clean and with good washing facilities. Due to hot weather, a little warm throughout the evening with a small fan/loud difficult to sleep.
- Raymond (9/5): -
- Julian (9/5): - All good I will be back 👍
- Ashish (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms just what you see on the site
The staff
💖
- Rod (9/5): Actually comfortable and lovely place. Let down by poor service. - Accommodation and pub, all clean, excellent standard of finishings and security. Nice space for food and drink. Service. I was asked if I wanted any sauces. The tomato sauce never arrived. I sat on a recently used table. This wasn’t cleaned and I had no cutlery, until after 10 minutes I took some from an adjacent table. When the bill arrived, I asked them to add on the initial drink which they’d not included.
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were amazingly welcoming and helpful. Room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Will definitely return, thank you!
- Jane (8/5): Pleasant and friendly - All refurbished
Clean and friendly A bit expensive for a room, albeit newly renovated
- Esin (10/5): Comfortable - I like my bed very comfortable. The room and the bathroom was very clean. Everyday room cleaned most towels changed even if i didnt asked for it. The breakfast should be in your pub which has great atmosphere.
- Hendrick (10/5): Really peaceful and comfortable stay - Lovely furnished to a high standard. Quiet location No parking close by
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Good location Couldn’t stop the toilet air vent ,so kept us awake
Found it strange going to another hotel for breakfast ,however breakfast was nice
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosalyn (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, newly remodeled, helpful staff, excellent restaurant
- Marie (10/5): Excellent. Comfortable. Lovely staff. - Room and staff were excellent
- Jennifer (7/5): Nice place for an in-town stay, seemed a bit over priced - The location is great, and right in town. It’s a bit challenging to get luggage up the stairs
- Joseph (10/5): A Very Pleasant Surprise - From reception to room, to service and food, everything was perfect! Yes the food is a little expensive but I believe in getting what you pay for and the steak is exceptional! My son-in-law is from SA and he knows how to cook a steak. This was definitley on a par with his.
Chess (Francesca) was as amazing on reception as she was waiting for me in the restaurant. I was made to feel very comfortable and she found and made time to chat with me and was lovely. Amy, the manager was also very welcoming as was the other lady who's name I didn't get.
Breakfast is served in sister pub The Crown and the service and food quality continues to impress. For £105 (without evening meal and drinks) and last minute I was well happy!
Keep up the good work Amy! Much respect to Chess! People make places. I only stayed one night and it was very last minute so didn't make the most of it.
