Guest Reviews
- Guest (10/5): - The apartment was lovely. Great view, and the back was fenced off so we could let our little dog out. Everything you needed was in there.
The icing on the cake was discovering a Roman Fort just behind us. A must visit The only thing for us was it was quite a walk to town
- Louise (10/5): - Cosy and homely in a quiet location Nothing
- Michelle (10/5): Ideal Location, lovely view - This apartment is beautiful, we couldn’t have hoped for better, everything we needed for our long weekend was provided, and the location was ideal. Would certainly book again when revisiting the area.
We were able to park in the Beacon Street car park at the rear of the property free of charge for the duration of our stay, also used by the neighbours. The doorway between the living room and kitchen was quite low, and taller people should be mindful, unfortunately my nephew took a couple significant bumps to head passing between the two rooms, the head jamb could do with being padded!
- Zara (6/5): Spacious apartment in a good location but … - Good location and plenty of space Could hear next door neighbours dogs barking regularly even after 10pm at night - it became annoying as it was relentless
Found the sofa to be extremely uncomfortable I chose to sit on the floor
There were a couple of items left in the dish washer and the bath was full of water on arrival.
Would expect some cupboard staples like salt and pepper
It was annoying that cars park on the pavement right outside of the house blocking the entrance to the apartment.
Very poor finish in the apartment - look underneath the sink in the kitchen and you’ll see expandable foam has been used around some pipes.

- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutley wonderful property, in a great location. Perfect for what we needed. The sofa. Whilst it looks lovely isn't comfortable at all.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Great apartment very modern with everything you need, lovely views of north shields and river Tyne.
In a lovely and peaceful location just a 10 minute walk into south shields town.
Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Nothing to dislike
- Deborah (8/5): Beautiful weather made it a great stay! Plus our grandchildren loved seeing the boats on the Tyne! - Lovely apartment with lots of space! Great location We loved the property and a great place to stay! We would definitely stay there again!
The yard with rubbish outside could have been better! That’s our only criticism!
Thank you
- David (10/5): Super place - It’s location with views over the Tyne, it’s spacious, clean with all mod cons. Nothing it’s perfect
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is lovely, spacious and met our needs perfectly. The view of the Tyne River from the bedroom windows was a particular highlight.
- David (10/5): Enjoyable weekend in this lovely property - We’ve stayed at Arbeia before and we love it. It’s ideally located, short walk down to the beach and views across the Tyne from the bedroom. Harbour Inn round the corner is amazing for food. Nothing at all. It’s perfect for what we need
- Denise (9/5): Wonderful flat that I’ll be recommending to friends - Well located and the flat itself was lovely Just a couple of niggles which I’ve taken up direct with them
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Really great property with free parking out the front. A no-fuss owner who attended quickly to any queries. Fantastic for our family of 4, including a baby and a toddler!
- Rebecca (10/5): Stylish spacious great location - Spacious clean comfy great views and 10-15min walk to restaurants on ocean rd Nothing
- David (10/5): Wonderful Gem of a place with view of the Tyne - It’s wonderful property with views of the Tyne. It’s lovely and comfortable with everything you could need. You go out of the front door and a short walk you are on the beach front. It’s perfectly situated. Also a short walk round the corner to The Harbour Lights Inn which has amazing food. We always make sure we visit when we stay, breakfast is tasty and the evening meals are delicious. The flat lends itself for a perfectly delightful and enjoyable stay in South Shields ⭐️ Nothing
- Susan (7/5): Cosy - Love staying here this is our second visit. But please change the beds they are all really uncomfortable, tried them all and ended up sleeping on bed settee
- Pauline (10/5): Lovely apartment with great views of the river and harbour. Fully fitted with everything needed for a stay Loved the l - Excellent value for money. Very clean and in easy access to the sea front Being picky, I thought it would benefit from a bit more of a touch up with paint in the bedroom
- Adam (9/5): Good - Good emplacement.
Everything was good and the equipment was good too. The shower wasn’t great and was cold.
- Chloe (9/5): Great location to explore South Shields, spacious rooms - Love the location by docks. Easy to walk to Ferry, the beach and town centre. Views from windows and lovely spacious rooms. Toilet seat loose and property a little more tired looking than photos show.

Lovely kitchen and bathroom facilities and everything yo needed in the lounge.
Excellent location, 5 minutes walk to the riverside and seafront.
A Roman Fort and a local pub serving excellent food (Harbour Lights)
Properties Unique were very efficient when booking it and checking in.
Lot's of places to park outside the back of the property. Nothing , excellent stay.
- Jason (10/5): Just a nice break away - All good nice and clean and nice views with a nice quiet place The steps to the kitchen we didn’t no about our mum has disability and we thought just up stairs all done but found the kitchen a surprise but we managed
- Roberta (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (8/5): Had a lovely stay - Lovely flat with comfy beds Location-was on the edge of a run down area
- David (10/5): Perfect little place with amazing views of the river - Lovely, homely and immaculately clean. Perfect location, just a little walk to the Haven Beach.
Harbour Lights pub is a must for food, just around the corner ! Nothing it was perfect
- Scott (9/5): Superb -
- Sara (10/5): Amazing family trip - Everything apartment was stunning very clean and tidy fab location with amazing views Nothing
- Madara (10/5): Exceptional stay in South Shields - Very clean, modern, and comfortable apartment with a unique river Tyne view from the window and breathtaking sunsets. Just minutes away from the beach, Roman ruins/museums, and amusement park. A ferry ride away from the other bank of the river. The oven was not functioning very well and the kitchen could be better equipped. The bathtub is a bit dangerous - no antislip mat or handles to hold on (probably not suitable for older people).
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (8/5): Nicely furnished, excellent location - Nicely furnished, excellent location No hand wash left and it could have been a little cleaner
- Viola (9/5): Superb - Very good location, just a short walk away from the coast. Spacious and clean, and with responsive hosts. And the place is actually a separate house, so there is no noise or movement from other apartments.
- Bowes (10/5): Brill stay. All you could ask for. Pub round corner (great food). - Short walk to sea front. There was a lot of cigarette ends in back yard.
- Helen (10/5): Had a lovely stay in a beautiful apartment - Everything the apartment was beautiful. Really comfortable close to the Roman fort. Easy acces to ocean road. Nothing
- Humood (10/5): Exceptional -
- Killiebill (7/5): We had a lovely stay. The apartment is in good location and well appointed. - Really good location. Lovely fresh, clean bed linen and towels. Your team were really helpful and very friendly. I forgot to ask for a high chair for my grandson and one of the housekeeping staff dropped one off on her way home. She also took the time to chat with my son and recommend places for us to eat. A few points but nothing terrible:
Would have been beneficial to have notification on how to access WiFi.
A spare black bin bag given strict rules for recycling.
An odd set up for beds given a double and single in one room.
Outside area is not great. Not an issue this visit as weather was not suitable for sitting outside but we would have given it a miss as pretty miserable space.
- Lois (10/5): Quiet, comfortable, modern, clean accommodation close to great facilities in the town - The flat was warm and cosy.
I liked that it had dishwasher tablets, washing machine capsules (I travelled with two toddlers so this was great to have access to a washing machine and clothes horse).
I took our own washing up liquid.
It felt homely and modern. The smart tv had apps for iPlayer and Netflix which we could log in to.
The beds were comfy and clean.
Location good, though having the kids o did tend to drive to the town and the beach as it would have felt too far to walk with them but I’m sure for able adults it is perfectly walkable.
South Shields as an area seemed to have lots to do - north marine park, south marine park, the pleasure beach, leisure centre, lots of restaurants. I think we’ll definitely go back to South Shields and would consider staying here again. The key box may be tricky to access for anyone who finds it hard to bend down as it is very low to the ground.
Booking.com says no parking which nearly put me off booking and I had to confirm with the owners before I booked. I still was a bit worried about this up until arriving but I managed to get parked right outside each time so that description could be reviewed.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic find felt homely as soon has we entered everything we needed fab location great view Leaving
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Taylor (9/5): Superb - A really nice appartment lovely river view..We left a bottle of wine and chocolates we were so pleased..Loved the sky tv brilliant too! ..It was clean and had everything you need..Overall fantastic value . .For your attention not a complaint but to help you.. the key boxes are better located higher in the door frame not on the wall as the dampness makes the digits stiff could cease up and cause you future problems..The hob looks great but was difficult to use the controls hard to regulate..Best when you replace it use hand controls that automatic switch off if not ignited...But honestly it was lovely overall..
- Neil (10/5): Immaculate property and close to everything to entertain my 6 year old over the weekend - Immaculate and had everything I could have needed Nothing
- Matthew (10/5): Perfect. I stay away 30-40 weeks a year and this really does tick the boxes. - Have stayed for 2 weeks and booked in next week for a final week of work. Very quiet and comfortable with everything I need. Lovely Genuinely can’t think of what would improve the apartment.
- Darren (9/5): Superb -
- Jason (10/5): Smashing place, beautiful location, will def be back -
- Natali (7/5): Needs attention to essential issues but otherwise excellent property with a friendly management team - In excellent location with nice views over the river and very quiet. Recently refurbished makes it very nice and clean. The property has anything you will need for the stay and fully equipped kitchen The toilet seat was broken /not attached properly which was very difficult to use . The shower was impossible to use as gives very hot water and then very cold all in a sudden in cycles.
The bins in the courtyard were very full which made it impossible to put out rubbish out
- Leanne (8/5): Very good -
- Carl (9/5): Excellent stay - The property was in a great location, really close to everything, it’s very spacious but lacks a few essentials! Like a baking tray for the oven!!!! Chest of drawers in the bedroom! We lived out a case a little. But it’s an amazing property!
- John (8/5): Overall the property and location were more than suitable for a short or long stay. - Great location and quiet situation.
Looked like a fairly new let, just a couple of minor points that will move the rating to excellent Steady hand hold required to improve entry and exit from bath/shower
