Marelize (7/5): Quick break from the city - The bed was very comfortable. We had 2 great nights sleep. Nice to have an aircon in the room. The view from the room is very nice. Overlooking the river. Buffet breakfast was tasty. Depresso's coffee was delicious (Coffee house on site) Needing to go to the main hotel for breakfast with the main restaurant being a few steps away was silly. Sad that we only got instant Nescafe coffee for the price we pay. The restaurant in general is really pricey. On Saturday we waited over an hour just to be told our food was ready 30 min ago. They did remake the food but it was not great overall. Due to an event - we ended up being placed outside (no table setting) even with a reservation. And the waiters did not attend to the "outside" people as much- aka forgetting to bring out our order There was no one at the village reception on checkout.

The staff all around the estate and facilities was friendly, warm and accommodating The drive through the gravel road route towards the hotel was uncomfortable, not sure whether it's gravel or potholes. And it's stretches for a few kilometers The signage throughout the estate is not accurate. It took us having to call the hotel to get directions to the restaurant area from the hotel.

The breakfast at the Bistro was of poor quality and limited in options for non meat eaters. The service was poor and the menu options for dinner was limited with most items not available

We come from afar and to still have to wait for 15;00 check in is not customer centric. Other hotels allow a 14;00 check in and this is something management must reconsider. The breakfast is also limited for the price we pay, something they to work on.

It is good for emergency purposes (as it was in our case) and if you would like to spend most time outdoors to utilise the facilities otherwise, not as appealing The room was too small especially the bathroom/shower space. They played music very early on Saturday morning which was not as relaxing. They should try and make breakfast start time earlier than 8am

The reception staff especially Suzan were also excellent. The fact that the village reception opens @ 09h00. The restaurant staff are rude. Other staff members seems to know nothing about almost everything, you ask them questions, they don't have answers. Management must orientate the staff & insist that they staff value the guests.

Rooms looks much bigger than they are. Extremely expensive for what you get with absolutely no view. Can seriously bring down your rates.

Olivia (5/5): I was so dissappointed given how expensive the accommodation and spa was. It was not worth the money - The staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the surrounding and the ambiance outside. They gave me a room that looked totally different to the pictures on booking.com. The room was small and did not even have a microwave as was displayed when I booked. The breakfast was also not worth the money as on the first day it was not a buffet. We had to order from the menu and we were allowed to only order one thing. The spa moved from where it was to a new house and the facilities there are definitely not for a spa. It was not value for money at all.

The picture added shows the queue of people who where waiting for rooms, this - Nothing to rave about Small rooms, broken blinds in the bedroom, no transportation available from the hotel to the function venue. The road between the hotel and function venue looks like it’s under construction with no signage. Check in was at 3 pm , my rooms were only available after 4:30 pm. Confused staff regarding bookings , seems like they over booked .
KM (4/5): Disappointed Customer - Overrated Booked and confirmed booking at main hotel for a wedding function but when i gir there my room was given to soneone else.. Check in was delayed for almost 2 hours as the rooms were not ready .Very unorganized, no towels in bathroom, restaurant and bar closed, only main one open. We traveled far to get there and very disappointed. Bathroom was full of mosquitos.
Tira (6/5): It was average and not worth the money. - The rooms were beautiful. My bathroom had a terrible damp smell. It was awful and unbearable. When I was getting into bed, I noticed it was infested with insects. There is no transportation within the hotel to get from one site to the next. I was wearing elegant evening wear and was told I have to walk in the sand to get to the next hotel as there was no transportation available. I was not pleased and voiced it to the employee who then disappeared. Not to be seen again.

Nonyane (10/5): Epic, i have found a perfect holiday spot for my family - I truly enjoyed my breakfast — the location was perfect, and the overall experience was delightful. A slightly wider selection would make it even better. There was no tea served (such as Earl Grey or English breakfast), and only muffins were available, with no croissants. The offering included only Greek yogurt, without any flavored options. That said, I loved the setting and will definitely be coming back! I didn’t like that there were no golf cart services available to move from the hotel to the dining hall — this would have made the experience more convenient and comfortable.

If the breakfast serving time could be extended to 11h00 it would be fantastic. Dish cloths and paper towels in the kitchen would be nice and please ensure that ice cube tray in the freezer is filled.

Minja (9/5): A Magical Anniversary Getaway at Pont de Val - Our stay at Pont de Val Boutique Hotel was absolutely wonderful. The setting is breathtaking – elegant, spacious, and immaculately kept. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, always ready to help with anything we needed. Our room was clean and comfortable, featuring a beautifully designed bathroom with both a bathtub and a walk-in shower. It also came with all the essentials for a relaxing stay, including air conditioning, a mini fridge, a TV, and a hair dryer. We were lucky to have a ground-floor room that opened directly into the vineyard, with a picturesque view of the Vaal River just beyond. It made the whole experience feel peaceful and romantic. The bed was incredibly cozy, perfect after a day of exploring or just relaxing. That said, everything else exceeded expectations – especially the breakfasts, which were fresh and delicious. I would absolutely recommend Pont de Val for a quiet, romantic retreat. It is well worth spending a night or more! One small downside: we were not able to book spa treatments during our stay, as everything was already fully booked. It was a bit disappointing since it was meant to be part of our anniversary celebration. So, if you’re planning a visit, I would highly suggest booking spa sessions in advance.
