Guest Reviews
- Howard (7/5): Good for value - Location, comfortable The smell, no WiFi
- Dmitrij (8/5): Would be happy to stay here in the future. - I enjoyed my stay. Good room👍
Location is awesome 🔥 Slow wi-fi…
3 times maintenance visit during my 2 week stay ( quite old building )
- Nancy (7/5): Nice Studio in Graduate Hospital - It was easy to get around the city using nearby bus lines, fairly close to Rittenhouse Square & very close to the people I was visiting in the Graduate Hospital area. It’s on the first floor of a walkup row house. The studio is fairly roomy, quiet & private. A fair number of the electrical outlets didn’t seem to be working, particularly the one in the bathroom sonI couldn’t dry my hair there. The laundry area is down a step set of stairs in the basement. It’s reasonably priced, but bring plenty of quarters because that’s all the machines take. The “yard” is a fenced in concrete pad that is definitely NOT cozy at all so I’d call that title ironic!
- Pritchette (10/5): -
- Jefferson (2/5): Not somewhere I'd stay again! - The location was good for central Philadelphia and all the sights, restaurants and bars, also close to train station and bus routes. Booking.com has the wrong address and shows an incorrect location on its maps. It is 712 19th Street (not South Street).
The wifi address given in the flat was not available when I tried to log on. I was advised of a second wifi address which worked ok although they initially gave me an incorrect code for this which had to be corrected (see point below about the method of communication)
There was a large machine (aircon?) immediately outside my bedroom window that runs 24/7 and could not be turned off whether or not I had the room aircon on. This meant disturbed sleep each night.
I could not contact the owner directly. Every communication had to be via Booking.com message which meant delays and incomplete answers.
The flat could do with some tlc, if not complete renovation - e.g rusty taps and sinks, broken blinds
The bed had a top sheet and duvet, but no duvet cover.... very odd that. The duvet needs a clean.
The toilet cistern is temperamental. A couple of times I left the flat and returned and it was still filling because no water stayed in the tank. In the end I had to lift the lid every time I flushed the toilet to ensure the plug was in place and remained there.
As I was on my own, over there for the football, I could live with it. But it is not somewhere I would take my wife, or where she'd be happy to stay.
- Oluwaseun (4/5): Underwhelming. - Great place, bad service If you’re staying more than two days, the host will
1. Charge a daily sum for cleaning without fulfilling the obligations of service
2. Ensure you’d use the same towels and beddings for as long as you stay without any change or spare in the closet.
3. Most likely mistake you for another guest if you’re inquiring about a service
The space is very neat but there are massive service failures (the internet will fail you sometimes and you may have to rely on yourself to sort almost everything you’ve paid for out)
If you hate the lights, watch out for the transparent blinds. You’ll see daylight at all times when it’s bright outside.
If you pay for pay for more than 4 days, here’s hoping that you don’t get the short end of the stick like I did!
Value for money: absolutely not
- Marvin (7/5): Good - Overall a good place to stay. The adress of the studio is at 712 S 19th Street instead of 712 South Street, which is a 30 min walk further away from eg the independence hall.
Its also an old studio and could use a few reperations here and there.
- Elizabeth (7/5): Great value, great location, needs an upgrade. - When you book it says there is a balcony. And a yard. The apartment had none of that. Out of the back door was a fence about a foot from the door, and a concrete back yard. The apartment needs a wallflower if it is going to sit unoccupied and an air freshener before guests come would be great. The only thing I was impressed with was the distance to EittenHouse Square. The area and green space was amazing and the restaurant, bars, and shopping so close by was awesome. 10 minute walk. See the writing above.
- Stephanie (10/5): First stay in Philly. - The location was close to the park and restaurants. It was a close uber ride to all historical places. The apartment space was perfect for the two of us. the address when booking showed differently on the city map.
