Guest Reviews
- Keren (10/5): St. Mary's Farmhouse is cosy, comfy, spacious and has all you need to make for a fabulous stay. - We had a wonderful week at St. Mary's Farmhouse on the Orton Estate to see in the New Year.
The bedrooms were a fabulous size with luxurious bedding, and all with ensuites with rather nice toiletries.
The house was very warm despite the amount of snow we had (we had to push our cars to get them our when leaving at the end of our week.) We didn't need to light the fire in the main sitting room at all.
The kitchen was very well equipped, and plenty of crockery and glasses galore in the dining room and the sitting room neuk. The dining table was a generous size to sit us all very comfortably.
There is great wifi which allowed us all to have all our devices online at once with no problems.
All in all we loved it so much, we're booking again for next year. Can't wait to be back. All was great.
- Andrew (10/5): - The farmhouse was exceptionally well equipped, comfortable and cosy. All of our friends thought that it was a great location to explore the Moray countryside.
- sonia (8/5): - Loved the size, we were 3 families and the children had the best time.
Bedrooms were large and warm, bed so comfy. The large dining table was fantastic Maybe a little too remote for me, rest of the party loved the location. Although someone else felt the piano room may have been a bit spooky
- Caspar (9/5): Fantastisch afgelegen locatie in een geweldig huis. - De herten stonden gewoon in de tuin.
- Angelica (10/5): -
- sian (10/5): - Absolutely stunning house. Comfortable and spacious bedrooms, very well equipped kitchen and a beautiful setting. Great value for money. Perfect for gatherings of family or friends.
- Stephen Forsyth (10/5): Great Stay for a Group - always a great stay - will continue to return
- Mary (10/5): Wonderful accommodation for larger parties. - We had a wonderful Xmas with our family here. It exceeded our expectations in that the bedrooms were huge, the beds were super king, linen and towels were spotlessly clean and rooms tastefully furnished. The kitchen was well stocked, and indeed, the house had no less than 4 fridges/ freezers.
Everything was "just so" and perfect accommodation for our family group. I found absolutely nothing to dislike.
- Cheryl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dorothy (10/5): Fabulous family holiday home. - We loved this property and already planning to return next year. It had plenty of space, beautiful bedrooms (all with their own bathrooms), extremely well kitted out and cosy. The loved the traditional feel of the public rooms and the open fire. The views from the house and the gardens were stunning. A new microwave and dishwasher would be helpful but wouldn’t put us off booking again. The kitchen is going to be replaced very soon anyway so nothing to be concerned about.
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Exceptionally well appointed and fabulous location. Super beds and ensuites; wonderful dining room. WiFi weak upstairs. Kitchen slightly in need. BUT nothing detracts from the overall rating of 'exceptional'.
- David (9/5): Sublime retreat on the banks of the magical Spey - Beautiful location a short, picturesque, walk from the bank of the majestic Spey. Quiet and relaxing yet nestled with historic intrigue with St Maty's Well rihht next door. Walks to the river were magical with deer, hare and pheasants trating us as neighbors and even a pine martin joining the catalogue of visitors.
Updated bedrooms and bathrooms perfectly complimented the traditional living areas.
A little piece of heaven... What's not to like...
- Stevie (10/5): Exceptional -

- Stephen (6/5): St Mary’s farmhouse has so much potential but due to the cleanliness, I’m afraid people will stay once and probably not - Setting was lovely, comfortable beds. The property was tired, the windows were filthy and there were flies everywhere, some dead flies hadn’t been removed in quite a long time.
The exterior of the building is deteriorating quite badly which is a shame.
