- Rebecca (10/5): - This house was amazing, clean and tidy, fresh towels, clean bedding, plenty of parking. Breakfast was provided. I would love to stay again when we visit Alton Towers. Nothing everything was fantastic.
- Luanne (9/5): Lovely - The location is within walking distance of kings hall which was great. The bedrooms are a lovely size and beds very comfortable.
Owners were amazing Bathroom was a little out dated
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Jordan (8/5): Very good stay especially for the money paid - Just a very nice property in general The towels didn’t smell right and were a little dirty but to counter that, they were white towels so hard to stay white 😂
- Kayley (8/5): -
- carl (5/5): - It had 4 bedrooms It was dirty the cleaner needs a good talk to lovely house just not cleaned properly
- Nelson (8/5): Value for money - The host was friendly and reachable, helpful in providing information. And the house was clean with comfortable beds. The towels
- Stephen (7/5): Good value multi-bed house in Stoke itself - Four-bed terraced house - two doubles, a twin and a single - 20 mins walk from Stoke station. Warm and cosy when heating on and instructions for this were clear enough. Beds were comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen, all worked fine, with lots of cleaning liquids provided. Wifi worked well throughout. Everything in bathroom worked fine. There was cereal provided (though we didn't use it). Had a courtyard (though we didn't use it due to rain). Overall, good value for the price. Getting in was a little confusing, with several keypads/lockboxes outside. The single room hadn't been cleaned fully - fag filters and bottle caps under bed - and wall behind bed was suffering with damp/mould (so we didn't use it). Some consumables (eg. scrubbing pads) needed replacing.
- Gary (8/5): -
- Jak (10/5): Great value for money - Property was tidy, check in was simple, and all information was provided about match day parking permits as well.
- Parker (9/5): Comfortable stay - The bed was comfortable, and the house was cosy. They provided cereal and hot drinks. It was clean and good value for money. Didn't have a TV in the communal room.
- Chloe (1/5): Not so Lovely - Bedrooms looked ok and did all have TVs My family of seven just returned from a 2-night stay and, honestly, we were very disappointed. We didn’t expect luxury due to the price but was shocked with a few things.
Before our stay, I saw a review mentioning no hot water, so I messaged the host and was reassured that hot water was available if we ran the tap a few extra minutes. Unfortunately, there was essentially no hot water. After running it for 5 minutes, it briefly warmed, but stopped almost immediately.
The house was not clean or as lovely as described. There was a noticeable mould smell and visible mould in several places. Most things in the house appeared worn or dirty. The stairs were extremely steep, which made me worried one of my children would fall down them. Other issues included a broken lamp in an upstairs bedroom, a broken shower which was lying in the bath, and no TV in the living room.
The back door was locked, so we couldn’t access the garden. Cutlery and the oven were dirty, and the oven did not work. The dish drying rack was so dirty and washing machine drawer had visible mould. My husband and I slept in the downstairs bedroom and could hear every word from the neighbour’s TV. On the first night, our car alarm went off about 4.45 AM, and we suspect someone may have tried to break into our car.
To make matters worse, the first morning on waking we discovered my husband had been sleeping on a mouldy pillowcase covering a dirty pillow.
Overall, this was an extremely unpleasant stay. I cannot recommend this property.
- Marlie (4/5): It was Okay - The size of the property for my family and the location The overall condition was quite average. There were damp areas, and the hot water and heating were unreliable — the hot water worked only intermittently. The cooker hood was not functioning, and we didn’t have access to the outdoor space as it was locked with no key provided.
If you plan to cook, you’ll need to bring your own pots and pans, as the ones available were old, some broken, and not really suitable for cooking. The “free breakfast” consisted only of cereal. There was also no hoover available to clean the property.
The space wasn’t very comfortable overall, but it was okay for a short stay (we stayed 2 nights). The dining area isn’t ideal for families ,there’s only a small table and two chairs, which makes it difficult for a group to eat together.
- Adrian (10/5): Perfect - Spotless Comfy bed clean class accommodation very helpful host cannot say a bad thing about the place
- Ann (10/5): Great house with everything you'd need. - House was not far from Alton Towers, warm, comfortable and clean. Clear instructions for permit, WiFi and heating. Nothing.
- Melissa (5/5): Ok but owner must know that there is water issue - Good for Alton Towers, cheap and cheerful No hot water at all
- Lisa (5/5): - On the whole the place was clean and few cobwebs had been missed, with a few small repairs the property has potential
If visiting alton towers as we did, living far away this was ideal for a place to rest your head and is only 30 minutes from the attraction There was mould around the bath and in the bedroom on the ground floor, the ground floor bedroom had a bad odour due to the mould and damp,
- Colin (4/5): Not accomodating for families. - Bed was comfortable and quiet area. No TV in living room, bathroom needs repairs, didn't look nothing like the photos, wasn't homely, not good for families. Tab butts in the yard, toaster didn't work, bedroom downstairs smelled musty.
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Northam (10/5): Just perfect home away from home - It was lovely and clean , it was a good location for our visit to Alton towers, it was the little things like tea and coffee milk being there on arrival there was even a pot of biscuits shampoo and washing up stuff just made it very welcoming and felt like being at home
- Darren (10/5): - It was clean , comfortable and presentable Nothing
- Josephine (8/5): Great for crashing overnight - Comfortable beds, fairly well equipped No bread board, knives blunt, bathroom basic.
- Kelly (7/5): We had a lovely stay - The bedrooms were really nice and beds very comfortable we all had a good nights sleep after very busy day at Alton towers The only complaint I have was the shower/ bath the water wasn’t hot we were all having cold showers/baths most days
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mandy (9/5): Superb - The whole house was lovely. The availability of WiFi and bedroom TVs was exceptional and the breakfast option was a nice touch.
Had the weather been better we would have enjoyed sitting in the courtyard Our only disappointment was the lack of plug in the bathroom sink as all other plugs did not fit.
Other than that it wS perfect for us and we would love to visit again next year should ite available
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sinaed (7/5): Good -
- Taylah (6/5): Pleasant - I liked that the beds were very comfortable!! Parts of the house were quite modern The bathroom was very outdated and not clean. The stairs were quite steep and hard to get up. The lounge area had no tv, the home had no clothes dryer or any pegs to hang out washing on the line. The hot water system was abit all over the place when it came to showering.
- Darien (9/5): Superb -
- Joyus (6/5): Pleasant - The location was ideal for Alton Towets, Water World, food and Monkey Forest.
There were 4 good sized bedrooms and just what we needed for our stay.
There was some long life milk in the fridge for our arrival, tea, coffee and sugar and cereal available which was really good. Also shampoo and cleaning products in the kitchen and bathroom. Parking was not an issue, we had a space outside the house every night. It was clean but there were areas thar could be improved. The bedding on one bed was stained, the towels had a funny odour and the shower took a long time to heat up. It was all we needed for our stay as litterally just used it to sleep, but just a little spruce up in areas might not go a miss
Would I stay here again? Yes I would.
The beds were really soft, initially very comfy but as I need a firmer mattress not great for me personally however everyone else in the family had an exceptionally good night's sleep!
- Siobhan (7/5): Good - Comfy beds Bathroom decor was tired in need of refurbishment
- Rachel (10/5): Excellent stay - Great Balue for Money would stay again!! - Great location, excellent value for money and the bed was sooo comfy! Bathroom needs some tlc
- Gillian (1/5): Bad - The check in was 3pm and i have texted them to say i will be there about 5pm but when we arrived and when i sorted my photo of my id to sent to them then they provided for key box code number but they said theres a cleaner in so we had to wait till about half 6pm to get in which is not good especially my youngest who have special needs so it was stressful so once we got in then we had to go to shop for foods so we had our tea very late like 8pm which is very upsetting for my youngest. No t.v in the livingroom for us to watch a movie family together. Im not impressed to see 3 forks, 2 knives, 4 dinner plates in the kitchen for 7 of us and then there's no proper knives for chopping, carving and bread etc . There's no tin opener either!! No cloth or scourer to wash dishes with. Tiny fridge we can only fit in to the full for 3 days worth of foods for 7 of us. The gas cooker is not good either as it kept burning our foods even we put it in the middle!! On the 3rd night I'm about to plug in my phone charger in the extension socket then it went bang in white flash in the master bedroom that have ee router in so we had to remove the extension and plug in ee router on another socket on the wall behind the bed. Some days I couldn't park my car outside this property so we had to walk 5 mins to get in the house. We couldn't even have a bath or shower due to water not hot enough as it was like hot then cold continually. It was so stressful and pressure on us as parents to deal with so it didn't feel like a holiday. I wouldn't say it's suitable for a large family but I'm Disappointed with the host not providing enough stuff that causes lots of upsetting and stresses. I wouldn't recommend this place.
- Samantha (7/5): Good - Staff were really good at communication. Bedrooms were lovely and beds nice and comfy There needs to be better kitchen equipment. Knives looked burnt. Also there was no TV in living room.which we thought was bit strange
- Georgina (5/5): ok for the price if the bathroom was given a little bit of care. - Breakfast disappointing, beds very comfortable and clean. bathroom needs updating, light switches grubby
- Kim (8/5): Cute property in a good location to where we were visiting (Fenton manor sports centre). We were there for less then 24 - Nice property.
Clean & comfortable.
Nicely decorated.
All info for parking permit, heating, WiFi & door entry code were easily accessible.
Friendly communication from hosts. Nothing.
- Katie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ngaripue (7/5): Good - The facility was nice and clean and very comfortable with it. I was so sad that just few minutes before checking in I was told to sent my ID and they required a UK 🇬🇧 ID with a UK address which was so uncommon it was my first time hearing that, next put this as a prerequisite before booking please. The house got only a small fridge in the kitchen which is not enough for a 4 bedroom house. The cooking pots in the kitchen are way too old and not enough cutlery too.
- Jodie (10/5): Great for families - communication was good, house was clean, comfortable decorated to a good standard and had character. also a courtyard that the kids enjoyed eating there breakfast in. the stairs are very steep and I worried about the children (and myself).
- Tracey (1/5): Flea Pit of a property absolutely filthy something out of a horror movie do your selves a favour and scroll on please av - Nothing. It was 30 mins from where we were visiting. It was absolutely filthy. Owner said it had been cleaned?! I don’t think so. Bathroom dirty. Kitchen dirty. Staircase was a death trip. Sheets on beds in 2 of the bedrooms stained hair on just gross. One of the worst I’ve booked on this site. Do yourself a favour avoid at all costs. It should be removed and never booked again. Just terrible 😞
- Jennifer (8/5): Perfect for a large family sleeps 7 - Perfect for a large family. We stayed to go to Alton towers which is 35 mins away. Lovely comfy beds, 4 bedrooms sleeps 7 people. 2 toilets. Was perfect for our needs. Nothing we didn't like Was perfect for us. Cheap and cheerful. Everything was clean and functional. Is an old house though so don't expect grand hotel standards.
- Guthrie (8/5): Very good -
- Allison (4/5): Disappointing - Beds were very comfortable Advertised as 2 bathrooms, but 2nd is a toilet/sink only.
The full bathroom and kitchen could do with some improvements being made.
- Helena (8/5): Comfortable value for money stay for team mates - As a group of friends it was nice to have the sitting room that felt cosy and enough space for all.
Second toilet was appreciated with 6 of us staying.
I personally thought the bed in the downstairs double was too soft but my partner liked it so guess it’s personal taste!
Less then 10 min walk to shops for food. Some difficulty getting in but this was quickly resolved by the host.
Blinds in the bedrooms didn’t do a good job of blocking out light so rooms were quite bright from street lamps.
- Heidi (6/5): Inadequate quality. Need updating and repairing - Accommodated us all. Dangerous tired broken elements that caused injury to my son
- Aurélie (8/5): Good location for a stay near Alton Tower - Apartment meets expectations. Easy access and easy parking. Very quiet street.
- Anna (10/5): We had nice visit, house is big and comfortable. - Very comfortable beds and nice and quiet at night. Hosts very nice and helpful, very good communication. Tv to small , but I don’t mind really
- Ian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Daniel (7/5): Good -
- Karyn (4/5): I wouldn't recommend. - The host was very responsive when we struggled to get in with door code. He seemed very friendly.
Breakfast was a very poor offering of a little bit of rice krispies or frosties, not enough for one day and it was sat on the counter in a dispenser, who knows how long it has sat there.
The bedrooms were nice and beds really comfortable The kitchen and bathroom were from the 70s. The shower was pathetic. No plug in the sink
Kitchen not well equipped, not even a sharp knife to cut meat
The house is situated on a busy main road the traffic woke me at 4am . The neighbours on the right are really noisy, tv loud, and talking on phone till early hours of the morning , the walls are obviously quite thin . No tv in lounge so we couldn't even watch a film together.
- John (9/5): An excellently located value for money stay. - Great, convenient location, easy access, hassle free. The house was very hot and lacked fans. It was 30 degrees outside so sleeping was a bit of a challenge.
- Daisy (2/5): Not amazing - Close to alton and shops Wasn’t clean when we got there, bugs on the hob, bugs on the bed, holes in the walls, mould in the cupboards and pubes on the toilet seat.
- Farhana (10/5): Cosy and well rested stay - Quiet area safe lovely bedrooms so comfortable to sleep all essentials provided value for money Couldn’t get the heating on and WiFi was slow but only stayed one night so not too bothered
- Maxine (5/5): They were very helpful but it was in very poor condition and the bathroom and kitchen were very dirty. - The beds were comfortable The kitchen and bathroom was very dirty and decorated poorly.
The shower didn’t work properly and was very old.
The toaster was a cheap Tesco toaster that blew the electrics.
The gas in the cooker did not work.
No toilet up stairs.
The stairs were very steep.
Cobwebs and spiders in corners of the room.
Plug sockets hanging of the wall.
The cupboards were very dirty inside.
- Rebecca (6/5): Extra points for comfortable bed but other than that, not too great. - The downstairs bedroom is lovely and the very comfortable bed was much appreciated after walking over 10 miles in Alton Towers. The upstairs rooms were equally as nice. Overall even with the little annoyances we enjoyed our stay. I probably wouldn't stay again though, as for a similar price you can stay in much nicer places in better areas. If it was cheaper I would consider staying again but as it is I don't think you really get the value for your paying for. The stairs are incredibly steep. Coming down them was a heart racing experience in itself i won't lie. The bathroom and kitchen is in desperate need of a renovation to fit in with how lovely the bedrooms are. The shower was a nightmare because the head will not stay up no matter what you do. The kitchen wasn't exactly clean and we had to wash everything before using it. It would definitely benefit from a table and chairs to sit out the back and a TV in the living room.. the living room felt very cold and wasn't somewhere we could relax, though to be fair after a very long day we all retired to our rooms after eating anyway.
- Elizabeth (4/5): Disappointing -
- Pauline (9/5): Superb - Arrived a bit later than planned. Where sent the door pin code at the given time and had no problem accessing the property. The stairs to the first floor were steeper than expected. Different to other Victorian houses previously frequented.
- Kaitlyn (7/5): The property met our needs, but it wasn't anything spectacular. - It's in a good location- the train station, a grocery store, and good takeaways are all within walking distance, and Alton Towers is accessible via taxi. The price was reasonable. The beds were quite comfortable. The showerhead is on sideways in the main bathroom, the walls are quite thin, it was pretty cold even with the heating on, and the outdoor area could use some cover and some seating given the bugs/ vegetation outside.
- Carole (7/5): Good - Clean & comfortable No toilet upstairs
- Emma (7/5): Great place to stay for activities nearby - It was located right off the motorway so was easy to get to other places for days out. The beds were very comfy and we liked that we all had our own private space (3 of us staying). The shower head only pointed down which made showering quite difficult. Lots of posters around the place which made the property look slightly tacky.
- Jones (10/5): Lovely propriety to stay in.. really friendly neighbours and 2 very local shops. a+++ - Great communication from the host and was easy to extend my stay. Door code was sent on the day of arrival, and there were no issues at all from the weekend. Nothing
- Paul (5/5): Our stay was fine but could have been better - Good space Kitchen and bathroom needs redone
- Evelyn (4/5): Okay for a short stay - Beds are comfy Handrail for stairs is loose, stairs are very steep.
Bathroom and kitchen not very clean
No tv in living room
- Olufuke (10/5): Brilliant - We love everything about the property, excellent will definitely go back and refer friends. Nothing
- Cerys (9/5): very homely and comfortable! - it was very comfortable and homely, had good facilities.
- Carly (3/5): Poor - Beds were comfortable Advertised as 2 bathroom which was actually bathroom and a wc which was right next to bathroom at back of the house
Kitchen and bathroom could be doing with an upgrade
No tv in living room area
- Stephen (3/5): Check out time! - The basics such as tea, coffee and cereal were there for the morning. Bedrooms were really well presented and clean. No TV in the living room. Being sent messages at 0730 on a Sunday morning by the owners to vacate the property at 10am. Check out time is earlier than a standard hotel?
- Jacqui (10/5): Amazing - It was really nice
- Tucker (5/5): Convenient and reasonably priced accommodation - which met our basic requirements - The bedrooms and living space had been nicely decorated. The beds were generally comfortable (but downstairs room mattress needs changing or turning). The seating was comfortable and sufficient for the maximum 7 guests. Heating worked well and the house was warm. Naz is responsive to any queries which was appreciated. It was advertised as 2 bathroom but that is not accurate. It is one bathroom and additional w/c (w/basin). For 7 adults I would not have selected this option - although we did manage. The ceiling lights have no shades so all bare bulbs in living and bedrooms - a bit stark. No pictures on walls which would have been nice. touch Back area is a bare patio with no seating - not really a feature. No a problem for us as not the time of year or reason for visit. Bathroom needs a refurbishment as does the kitchen - not in keeping with rest of house but both functional.
- Ash (7/5): Good -
- Emma (1/5): Worst night ever - Absolutely nothing, no heating or hot water overnight it was freezing No hearing or hot water
- Letham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gregg (9/5): Superb -
- Pendlebury (8/5): Very good -
- Alyson (9/5): Superb -
- Conroy (5/5): Large Victorian Property - The location was good for the trip
It is close th the football ground. Very basic property. Especially the bathrooms.
- Alan (5/5): Very good place and suited our needs, however lack of WIFI takes the score down. - Very convenient for the location we needed. Very clean and well kept. WIFI was not working; we contacted the hosts at a very late hour and they did try to help however was not resolved - we left the next morning so did not follow up.
Leaking sink in toilet.
- Ericka (9/5): Superb -
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
