Guest Reviews
- Ana (9/5): This is a great option for your visit to Oaxaca City! You will experience the colors and soul of this historic city. - Perfect location! In the very heart of Oaxaca city! Right next to the painters square and only 1 block to Santo Domingo Church! Many specialty shops, coffee shops and restaurants just a few steps away. Convenience stores and pharmacies also very close by.
Rooms are small but have everything you need for your stay and are very clean with modern but artistic decor.
The room was made up and clean linens provided every day. Cleaning staff and reception team was very kind and attentive at all times, even at late hours (they are available 24/7).
Breakfast was delicious, all options were very tasteful! Bathroom was a bit tight on space, but manageable in the end. Weekend nights are a noisier but that is just part of staying downtown!
- Erika (8/5): Very good -
- Max (9/5): Hotel Pan Am in Oaxaca proudly provides a great Mexico experience - The breakfast was good and served from a menu provided by the hotel. I had Mexican style scrambled eggs and the fruit plate each morning and my wife had plain scrambled eggs once and the fruit plate with sweet roll each morning. The coffee was good. My wife who only drinks tea liked the tea choices available but was disappointed black tea was not offered.
The room was small with excellent mattresses, a safe, a modern well equipped with toiletries bath room and a very good cool/heat AC with remote control.
And now, the best part. The hotel faces a small park with many artists exhibiting and selling on week ends and is one block , around the corner, from the amazing state museum which contains the hundreds of books from the historical circa 1425 (yes 1425) library and the amazing artifacts from the Monte Alban ruins a few miles away which we did not have time to visit. On Saturday there were several very interesting and colorful small wedding parades a half block away on a closed to cars historic street. The rooms were comfortable but smaller than US rooms.....but we plan on staying here again. Oaxaca is about 3 hours from our home in DFW area.
Also a small matter..... if you like black tea you should take a few.
- Cecilia (10/5): Good value - Location was just excellent
Breakfast was great
Very clean and excellent staff Room was too small
- Jean (9/5): Excellent B&B for walking to nearby cultural sites, very good bakery, extremely helpful staff. - The manager, Daniel, and all the members of the staff were extraordinarily helpful. The room was clean. There were lovely soaps and creams in the bathroom. A tiny fridge was most useful. Because other people share the same second floor outdoor landing, I needed to keep my curtains and door closed for privacy and security.
- Kenneth (7/5): Altogether comfortable stay, and good value. - The breakfast is excellent. Many people came there who weren’t guests for the breakfast.
The location is excellent to access many central sights, BUT at night a bit close to loud bars.
Also, in the morning the on site bakery - which is very good - is a bit noisy.
The staff were friendly and helpful. When there was a problem with the room they got it fixed immediately.
The air con worked well though prone to odd noises. The mini fridge was very appreciated. BUT at night a bit close to loud bars.
Also, in the morning the on site bakery - which is very good - is a bit noisy.
There was a safe box, but it wasn’t attached to anything. You could easily pick it up and walk off.
- Mattias (10/5): Exceptional -
- Monet (8/5): A beautiful boutique space, welcoming, safe and central. - The property was central, and very cute! The staff were wonderful and helpful. The breakfast provided was excellent and a perfect start to each day. The room was just what we needed, it had all the amenities and things we needed during our stay. Unfortunately the bed was a bit uncomfortable, firm and my husband ended up kinking his neck from the bed and pillows, otherwise overall- awesome stay and nothing really to fault.
- Susan (9/5): I highly recommend this gem in Oaxaca city! - My room was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. I appreciated the small refrigerator, coffer maker, a/c and nice shower. Everything worked. All Staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Location was perfect, very safe: across from a small park and market, just a couple small blocks to Botanical garden, museums and historic barrios. Breakfast was always nice and the Pan:am restaurant is a great option for lunch.
- Vanessa (9/5): Amazing hotel, staff and location. The manager, Daniel, is an absolute superstar! 🌟 - The location is so perfect - everything is within walking distance, lively during the day and very secure afterhours. All of the staff were amazing and the room was exactly as advertised! The breakfast each morning was wonderful and we fell in love with the Conchas (vanilla and chocolate). Special shoutout to Daniel who was so helpful, knowledgeable and he went above and beyond for us during our stay. Highly recommend to anyone travelling to Oaxaca. Only tiny issue was the shower head which sprayed in multiple directions 😂 pressure was really good but we couldn’t get any hot water to have a shower if we got home after midnight
- Daniel (8/5): Stylish rooms & good location - Stylish & well equipped rooms, nice concept to have rooms inside a breakfast location!
You can reach everywhere in Oaxaca by foot everywhere and the staff was super friendly, attentive and supportive!
AC, Showers. & Beds were good! As others mentioned its loud, especially on weekends if the breakfast service starts super early, the walls are just super thin and you hear everything.
There was not complimentary water or similar.
If you travel with large bags, it might be a little bit small.
- Marilyn (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (8/5): Very good -
- Maya (8/5): Cute colourful hotel in the centre of Oaxaca - Beautiful and colourful hotel. The bed was very comfy and the breakfast was delicious. They also have a super cute shop where we bought lots! Amazing location. The room was a bit small and the noise from town was very loud whilst we were trying to get to sleep, but we made it work with earplugs.
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional - Service was great. Breakfast too. Great location.
- Ilze (8/5): Only stayed one night - Very good location. Extremely small room.
We ended up walking with our suitcases several blocks as the taxi driver did not understand where the hotel was and told us he could not drive on a pedestrian street. The hotel in not on a pedestrian street. We were also given incorrect directions by a couple of helpful people on the street.
The hotel needs to give clear directions to a guest so he can tell the taxi...that is ....the 2 cross streets and also that the hotel street changes names in the next block
- Gerry (9/5): Superb -
- Nor (7/5): Great location and good staff - Location was really good and the breakfast was good. Staff was very helpful. Shower really good. The breakfast room is very noisy. The twin beds are also way too small.
- Cristina (9/5): Superb - Excellent breakfast, good coffee. Centrally located. Modern facilities, comfortable beds. Room could have been a little bit bigger.
- Gracey (8/5): Pleasant - The location is in central. During the Day of the dead festive period, we always caught parade in front of the hotel. The breakfast is so good and sumptuous. Hotel will help you arrange laundry service at reasonable price and arrange pick up. The hotel service quality is varied based on person. Lilian was so considerate and helpful to assist us to get taxi. While the other guy didnt follow up closely for taxi pick up, eventually we were waiting for more than 30mins.
- Gracey (9/5): Good stay - It's newly renovated and the breakfast is good and sumptuous In the building, there are few retailer shops and the hotel is located inside without any signboard. We reached at night time and the door was closed. Spent some time to figure out the reception location as we dont speak espanol, hard to communicate with local there.
- Mari (10/5): Exceptional - It was really clean and new.
And the location was perfect to walk around the center of Oaxaca.
The stuffs were very kind and nice.
I would love to come back! The water pressure was not so strong, and a big noisy in the morning.
(I guess it depends on the floor)
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
