Guest Reviews
- Philip (9/5): - The house is lovely inside with 4 great size bedrooms and a lovely comfortable lounge. The view of the castle from the front is incredible. Everything was lovely
- Allan (9/5): Great quirky cottage, bursting with character and priceless views - Lovely quirky old house with bags of character and so much space packed into a tiny property. Everything is put together with love. it was very clean, had everything you needed and the views over the castle to the coast were premium. Very close to town centre. Although it was close to town centre, the road up to it was steep which meant you had to think carefully with elderly parents. Just one parking space and roadside parking only sometimes possible so you may have to park other cars further away. However, minor points as we spent the whole time at the cottage enjoying it!

The super comfortable cottage.
Great shower, comfortable beds, and well equipped kitchen

- Kris (10/5): 6 went to Harlech. - Meg, you have a beautiful house. I love all the quirky details. We had everything we needed. The 6 of us have had a great time. The weather was kind to us, and we managed to conquer the hills on the walk back from the beach on several occasions. Waking up to the view of the castle with the sea beyond every morning was very uplifting. During our stay, we visited Harlech Castle, which is great, took the train to Barmouth for the day, and also drove to Portmeiron. We ate out at the Castle Cottage Inn and Bean & Blwm pizza. The Deli and various other cake/ice cream shops are all worth a visit. We've all had a wonderful time. Very relaxing, even though we were busy. All the best, Liz, Martine, Robin, Daisy, Evie, and Kris. Going home.
- Anne Patricia (9/5): - Communication with the owner was very easy. She provided lots of information prior to our stay and the welcome gift was much appreciated. The house is in a quiet situation and was well supplied with everything you might need. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Harlech is a great place to stay. The views are lovely and there's lots to see and do in the surrounding area. We found the step outside the bathroom worrying although there was an automatic light that came on at night.
Parking is a bit daunting.
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional - This house was awesome. The rooms were well appointed and the entire house was nice. We didn't use the kitchen but it was very nice. Shower was great. Only a block from the Castle and several restaurants and coffee shops.
- Emma (10/5): This place is a gem - Home from home. There was everything we needed and thoughtful gift to welcome us. Great communication with owners too. Nothing
- Scott (9/5): Peaceful Porkington! - If you are looking for a “chocolate box” village by the sea, a “quirky” little cottage full of rustic charm and ambience, and endless historic and sporting attractions to fill a month of Sundays…..No. 1 Porkington Terrace will leave you refreshed. Check in at 4pm, check out at 10am sharp. Shame check out can not be extended unless you pay an extra £15 per hour.
- Hulda (10/5): Perfect - It was only 2 days, so Im looking at dates for the summer, for at least a week. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Card games, wood for the fire, all appliances that you need, very good power in the shower, beds very comfortable and the place was very clean.just be careful when parking your car on the street.
- Michaela (10/5): Beautiful Christmas stay with family - Beautiful, cozy in a lovely location. Felt like home from home Nothing
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Loved everything about this cottage. Beautiful decor, with plenty of space for our family of 5. A wonderful position in a very friendly village, highlight being the fantastically stocked grocer at the bottom of the road.
Meg is a very welcoming and attentive host - thoroughly recommend a stay here! Nothing.
- Michael (10/5): We loved our stay and hope to return soon. - Very Clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. lovely views and a cosy fire add to the charm.
- Diane (10/5): Meg was helpful throughout - Beautiful views of the sea and castle Not an ideal location if anyone has mobility problems as you are on the world's steepest street
- Jeremy (8/5): Great location near castle and sandy beach a mile away - Bedrooms, terrace at front . Location Bit chilly in the sitting room but we could have put on the log burner! Second toilet outside so not ideal for six adults
- Mina (10/5): Definitely a great house with a stunning view. - The view from the cottage is stunning! The house is clean, well maintained and comfy. Excellent location and is with in walking distance to the local store, pub and castle. Meg is an excellent host. She gave us all the information we need for our stay. She even personalised the room for the kids staying. The kids were entertained with loads of board games to choose from. The WiFi is free with excellent signal. We had a complimentary bottle of wine and the famous Welsh cake waiting for us when we arrived which we enjoyed whilst watching the sun set in front of the house. The cottage is a very nice place to relax and definitely a home away from home Parking can be a bit tricky on site if you have a big van but it should not be a problem with car. There is a long stay car park nearby where we decided to park which is a bonus as the walk to the car park will give you the amazing view of the sea and castle .
- Gabriela (10/5): Exceptional - The house and the view are amaizing. And the Meg the hoste was very nice and helpful all the way through. Will definitely go back sometime.
- C. (9/5): Superb -
- Lindsay (10/5): Perfect birthday retreat - Beautiful property very spacious with great views & attention to detail, was easy to find & a parking space at the rear. Kitchen had all the facilities available including a dishwasher & and little outhouse with a washer if needed, I was left a cake & a bottle for my birthday nice touch! Spacious lounge & lovely decor upstairs & very quiet we all slept in!! Friendly neighbours who also had dogs who all chatted as we sat outside having a cup of tea looking at the castle & sea. Nothing at all
- Faezeh (10/5): Fantastic place - The cottage is very cosy, spacious and clean. It has an amazing view to the sea and the castle.
The living room is perfect for hanging out. It's not a downside, but it's quite hard to park there, especially if your not a good driver like me, but worth the view.
- Сторожук (10/5): Exceptional - Nice area ,very friendly neighbors, house are clean
- Chrissie (8/5): Very good - Very lovely cottage No second bathroom
