Guest Reviews
- Randolph (7/5): Adequate for the price - Adequate accomodations, especially in light of the hotel prices in town, but the overall score in Booking.com seems slightly inflated in our opinion. Not quite sure of a good definition...maybe some melding of suburban-rustic, BOHO, and shabby-chic? But the bed was comfortable and the room served it's purpose. The room is tight for two people with suitcases. Location is a way from the central area, but again, given the price we could live with it.
- Charlotte (9/5): Lovely and eccentric - This adobe style house is full of amazing art and the patio is great. The available amenities are great when on a roadtrip The floor was not the cleanest BUT our host had a back injury and still managed to set us a nice comfortable bed and well organised/clean countertops and bathroom!
- Walter R (8/5): -
- Mary (7/5): Very satisfactory given my schedule and need for privacy - Quietude....patio, airflow, privacy Am not able to navigate gravel pathways safely.
- Farnell (9/5): - The charm and the owner
- Jackie (10/5): Great stay, I would come back - I liked the private entrance leading to the property and the instructions for parking were simple. Amenities were exceptional and John went above and beyond. N/A
- Marcus (10/5): -
- Daves (6/5): John was very accommodating and helpful. - John was friendly and helpful Inside doors were too narrow for a walker
- Amy (10/5): -
- John (10/5): Easy and breezy - Great and interesting host
- Catherine (9/5): - Very smooth check in
- Randy (2/5): Not what it seems ! - It wasn’t like the photos at all ,very small, no tv , no locks, just a room, no place to set inside you could hear other people talking in the main part of the house !! Long way to down town had to drive to everything
- Rohan (8/5): -
- Rob (9/5): Far better than expected! - Kind and communicative host, great value, close to town
- Groman (10/5): -
- Kate (6/5): Fine for just a place to sleep, but the room is cold at night in in the morning. - Separate entry, privacy, comfortable bed. The room was cold. There is an old space heater, but I couldn't figure out how to make it work.
- BLANC (10/5): -
- Timothy (8/5): Its worth it. - Jason was nice, the property was quiet, the shower worked, and there was a coffee maker. That's all I needed for a one night stay.
- Bev (9/5): Very comfortable, I would stay here again if I return to Santa Fe. - Host was wonderful, explaining everything....very kind host. No TV in bedroom
- Romona (6/5): Our stay at Randy’s Roost was nice John was a great host, checking in was great ! - N/a
- Petra (10/5): A truly cozy homestay, so welcoming and comfortable that you’ll find it hard to leave - A warmhearted and interesting artist welcomed us into his home. Both the room and the outdoor space were cozy and beautifully decorated. I truly enjoyed the time we spent with John
- Julianna (10/5): Excellent place, great host, very accommodating! - Host was excellent. Made us feel part of the family. A great place to stay! NA
- Deborah (9/5): Great stay! - Perfect for an overnight stay. Host was pleasant and helpful on arrival. AC was a plus. It wasn't spotless.
- Debby (10/5): - Amazing artwork, location, comfort, value Nothing
- Cindy (1/5): Ghosted - They double booked the room even though it showed available. It has not been refunded yet. Communication seems to have stopped. What is going on?
- Isabelle (7/5): -
- Jefferson (9/5): Superb -
- Ingeborg (9/5): Superb -
- Roxann (10/5): Quaint little unit - wonderful host. - There was a great patio area to relax in - the host was super nice - there was a gray kitty that visited me on the patio. I knew there was no TV but found that I missed it -- I would have preferred a lock on my side of the door leading into the main home -- there was no sitting area inside the rental.
- Johnson (9/5): Clean and quiet and private. Basic but well equipped accommodations for a few days. - Quiet location, clean and well equipped. The private patio was delightful. This isn’t a “complaint”, but just realize this is in a residential neighborhood and well away from the busy tourist areas of SF. A grocery is about a mile away but if going downtown you need to drive and … find parking.
- Veronica (10/5): Randy's Roost is a lovely little base from which to work from and to enjoy Santa Fe and New Mexico. - Easy to find - small community so very safe area to stay in. Beautiful private patio, strung with fairy lights which were lovely to have on at night. Wonderful host. No complaints - Everything as expected.
- Charles (7/5): Good -
- Cotton (2/5): Very poor - My room was directly underneath the owners bathroom. Didn't enjoy hearing peeing, etc. Also the room lacked airflow, very stuffy and hot.
- Mario (10/5): Exceptional - We can only say positive things about our stay at John's place. The place was really clean and well arranged, pleasant to look at because it was well furnished. The blue wall in the room reminded us so much of our house in Italy, it was the same color! And John's paintings were beautiful. We had dinner on the patio, it was very pleasant! The lights, the plants, we were even able to eat food that we cooked on our own because the place is equipped with a microwave and fridge.
The bed was very comfortable, we slept like babies. We were very sorry not to have been able to see the works in John's studio, because we left very early the next morning.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Leo (7/5): Good - No breakfast, but a good diner was very close Great for one person, but perhaps small for two
- B (9/5): It was enjoyable and cost effective - Clean nice host. Close to town but quite Nothing
- Colin (8/5): Very good - Friendly host, washer and dryer
- Sandra (9/5): Superb -
- Shirley (8/5): Interesting place- lovely outdoor patio for sitting- comfortable bed/bathroom- too close to owner - All in - had a great little kitchen area, modern bath, bedroom was small, had everything we needed. We were very close to the residents personal rooms, and there was a scent from cigarette smoking - or other products?-I am not sure what--but to us it was unpleasant- in the home while we were there- often early in the morning, or later at night- 10-11 pm. There was an additional person sleeping on the couch in the main home- (short term guest?) and we needed to navigate that room for our heat control- so that was interesting. Jason was a wonderful host with an amazing collection of art in his attached studio, we simply felt we had less privacy than we would have liked.
- Mcpherson (9/5): Superb -
- Yersavich (10/5): Excellent value! - I liked the artwork, private entrance, and friendly cat very much. Nothing.
- Charlie (10/5): Loved it! Would stay there again. - Comfortable, homey place in a great neighborhood. The host was gracious and accommodating.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
