Guest Reviews
- Lorna( (10/5): We would recommend this acomodation - A great place to stay . No complaints
- Lesley (8/5): Good accommodation for the money - Good location for the places we visited I think the kitchen could have been kitted out better ( literally only 4 knives and forked and cups etc) in lots of other places the kitchen had much more in the cupboards
Electric fans would have been a nice touch
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic Nothing
- Charlotte (10/5): Fantastic - Spacious / clean and lovely ambience . The stairs are quite steep but not really and issue for our family.
- Jen (10/5): Comfortable, clean and spacious accommodation in a great location! - Spotlessly clean, spacious, super comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, perfect location for exploring. We loved everything about the Cosy Cottage. We'd definitely visit again, thank you! Nothing, it was faultless! Guests with mobility problems might struggle with the stairs though.
- Wendy (8/5): An excellent stay at The Blind Pig Cosy Cottage. - The Blind Pig Cosy Cottage, was in an excellent location and was very clean, comfortable and spacious. It would have been nice to have a few more mugs and glasses.
The stairs are very twisty and a little difficult to manoeuvre luggage up, but it is a cottage, so it was to be expected.
- Aryeh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jo (8/5): Comfortable stay overall. - Well presented.
Good communication with the host in the lead up to arrival. Flexible with arrival time.
Towels and bedding provided.
Beds were comfy.
Lots of room around the property - spacious.
Everything we needed - a shower and beds. We didn't really use the property other than that. Simply stayed the night and got up and went the next morning. No parking bit of an issue on arrival with bags and children.
Lots of steep stairs to get into the property - it's not necessarily a cottage, more a flat.
Quite noisy at pub closing time as property is on a local High Street (we did have windows open due to warm temperatures and it was a Friday night!) The church bells of Aylsham - whilst lovely to hear in the day, took a little getting used to at night!
Showers were a little tricky to get a consistent temperature.
- Kerry (10/5): Perfect, would definitely stay again. - The property was absolutely beautiful. The cleaner does an amazing job! N/A
- Ian (9/5): Very nice, comfortable and well appointed place - Great location. Very nicely furnished place.
Very comfortable.
Shame we were only there for one night! Not a desparately good shower, but not a major problem.
Not quite clear where to park, but we found somewhere!
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (9/5): Great space for our short visit to Norfolk -
- Stephanie (9/5): Great place to stay - Comfortable, great location, lots of space, quirky as you would expect of this type of accommodation.
- Brandon (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (6/5): Ok - IT was spacious and clean No instructions for wifi, hearing or shower, only two towels for three people
- Anna (9/5): great space, great location... - I love the location, host was very kind and 2 bathroom was a massive bonus. The staying was comfortable, but a bit cold (no heating in the kitchen) but is an only minus for the space when you are staying there during the winter take something warm to we are and slippers ;) Overall great place to stay! As I've mentioned before the lack of radiator in the kitchen.
- Sabine (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Sabine (9/5): Very satisfactory stay. - Very clean, well equipped, well set out. Coffee machine great except we couldn’t find the instructions All good, people with mobility issues may find the staircases challenging
- Michael (10/5): Location was great. Property was clean. Great time was had by all. - Clean spacious property. Had a family member go with us and stay in the second room which had a lovely view. Very close to all amenities. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage and would love to come back
- Tracey (8/5): Cottage well equipped & a great base for exploring. - We liked the decor, location and how spacious & clean the cottage was. The cottage took a while to heat from 0, so very chilly at first & radiator in smallest bedroom was broken so really needed a portable heater to use in the room.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Great location in the centre of Aylsham
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Parking was not easy.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Braddon (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing accommodation. -
- Sallie (9/5): Very comfortably clean and tidy. - N/A Parking was a problem and if not fit the staircases could be a problem (steep and low).
- Kristianne (8/5): It was a lovely place with great facilities. Good value for money and central location. - The high street was quite a noisy at times with traffic … particularly Friday morning with the bin lorry!
I am not sure if I missed this on the description but directions to the property from the high street would be recommended. A picture of the green gate that takes you down the alley to the front door for example. Also recommendations about where to park, as we parked down the road past the church both days as there is no onsite parking.
- Iain (10/5): Excellent - Host very accommodating. The place was spacious and clean. Above a restaurant in the centre of town within easy walk of parking. Everything was great.
- Simon (8/5): Great for a weekend away - Clean and great location Code on Booking.com is different from actual key box code
- Elaine (10/5): Excellent stayed last year and booked 2nights for next year:) -
- Fiona (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (6/5): Nice cottage .but no return for us - Location Was very cold when we arrived , hot water in showers didnt work properly (had cold showers). Couldn’t work the oven (no info)..Extremely dangerous stairs up to cottage on arrival ...This needs to be stated in booking
- Lucy (8/5): A lovely comfortable town house in a great location. - Lovely warm, spacious town house with bags of character. Very comfortable and well furnished. Great location for exploring Aylsham. Easy to find. Would definitely stay again. No pre-arrival communication re: entry code for the lock box. Heater in second bedroom didn't appear to work, although our children were warm enough. Ensuite shower also only ran freezing cold, but we were able to use the other bathroom's shower so not a big problem.
- Shelley (8/5): Was a lovely visit and would consider using again. - Very comfortable. Lovely layout. Roomy. Just a suggestion, rather than what we didn’t like about the stay, more information how to ensure there was hot water for the showers.
Might be useful to inform guests that there are steep stairs when entering the property.
- Richard (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable and ideally located in the centre of town Could have done with a few more basic utensils such as a cheese grater
- Amanda (10/5): Perfect accommodation in a lovely location. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend! - The property was in the centre and close to pubs and lovely shops as well as local supermarkets. It was decorated to a high, modern standard. Staff contacted us in advance to tell us how to find the property, where to park and how to get the key, all of which went without a hitch. Nothing! We couldn’t fault it. It was everything we expectef and more.
- George (7/5): Good -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (9/5): Superb - Town is lovely and the property was super clean and had all the amenities we needed Zero parking nearby
- Sally (9/5): Superb - Excellent location near shops/restaurants. Comfortable beds, lovely sitting room, well equipped kitchen. Good wi-fi. Would highly recommend. No Freezer or freezer section in fridge.
- David (7/5): Sorry, but will not be bothering again. - Very clean and well equipped but the stairs to the first floor can be an issue for the older more infirm guests. It is not a "cottage", it is a two bed apartment over two floors, 1st and 2nd floors. Access is via a steep set of stairs and a low floor with no warning or protection.
The lack of on site parking is an issue. You are advised by the hosts that there is on road parking but it does not tell you that it is limited until 10.00 am.
If you are staying Thursday night and have to park on the market car park, don't!!! There is no warning from the hosts but there is a market on Fridays and we came down to find our car blocked in by market traders.
- Stratton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bev (9/5): Great - My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit, the stairs were a little steep, but fine. The accommodation exceeded our expectations,, it was lovely!!
The host was friendly and welcoming.. We look forward to visiting again.
Thank you for a great stay
- Alison (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (8/5): Lovely property in a lovely location with everything you could need close to hand. - It was very clean and nicely furnished in keeping with the property but in a modern way. The low ceiling at the bottom of the stairs on entry, my husband banged his head so badly he had concussion, he’s not tall. Whilst I appreciate its an old property a feel some kind of warning would assist other in preventing injury.
- Sarah (10/5): Would definitely recommend - The property is really lovely and has everything you need..... tea, coffee, sugar, they even leave milk in fridge which is a really lovely touch. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious decorated well. The living room and kitchen are a good size and comfortable. The steps in the property are pretty steep but this is mentioned in the description so we were fully aware. It's definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. The front door doesn't lock when you pull the handle up so you have to lock it with the key. Unfortunately due to the location the street noise can be loud.
- Kathryn (7/5): We had a pleasant stay in this cosy flat - The flat was very convenient. The living room was lovely and there was a study too. Our hostess was very helpful with accommodating our bikes. A good place for a couple. The kitchen was rather sparsely equipped and there was no fresh dishcloth for the washing up. The kitchen bench was fine for 2 of us but would have been a squash for 4 people. The flat is accessed by very steep stairs - this should have been flagged up before we booked. Parking/unloading was awkward
- Libby (10/5): Beautiful cosy cottage - Very spacious and well equipt, very comfy and cosy The lighting in the living room is too bright, maybe would be better with a dimmer switch or a lamp in there as the room feels very yellow and bright with the light and yellow magnolia walls
- Jim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Fabulous place to stay. Hope to come back soon. - Luxurious and spacious accommodation with really comfortable beds and beautiful furnishings. Perfect location for the town centre. Would highly recommend. Nothing, perfect stay.
- Dodds (9/5): The space was great. - Spacious, clean, comfy bed and good kitchen facilities with free coffee. Steep stairs and you can't park directly outside, though lots of parking nearby.
- Valerie (8/5): Good location for touring the area, and exceptionally comfortable. - Extremely well equipped, furnished and decorated - exceeded expectations Property is advertised on booking.com as a bungalow (suggesting no stairs). It's not a bungalow, but a 2-storey property with extremely steep stairs - very difficult for anyone with mobility problems, especially when carrying luggage upstairs.
It would also be helpful if there were a 'how to' guide, esp. with respect to the need to turn on switches outside bathrooms to work the all-electric showers - not something anyone with gas ch would be used to.
Otherwise, no other issues.
- Hilary (9/5): Superb -
- Colin (9/5): Great location, spotlessly clean and well equipped - N/A made our own breakfast Black out curtains would have been good as Venetian blinds let light in early
- G (8/5): Very good - Lovee the decoration. Not having a freezer compartment in the fridge.
No carparking.
- Katherine (10/5): Great property for a short work break - The property was very well appointed and comfortable with everything that we needed. Nothing
- Harriet (10/5): Exceptionally welcoming and homely - It was really well equipped, a washing machine and dryer which was ideal for us to wash cycling stuff as we were completing the Rebellion Way as well as a fully equipped kitchen . The flat was exceptionally clean and spacious and the Blind Pig below serves delicious food, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to either! It was all perfect!
- Ella (10/5): cozy home away from home - The property was beautifully decorated. The kids loved exploring all the quirky details. the shampoo and conditioner smelt devine. everything was great
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
