Guest Reviews
- Am (7/5): Average / reasonable accommodation - It was available Road access was difficult
Room was very compact
Breakfast was very average
Cost was too high for what it was
- Francis (8/5): - Wonderful staff, Roisin was a delight. The natural beauty was outstanding. We stayed on a very hot weekend and the cabin was so so hot, very uncomfortable to sleep. Whilst a fan was provided it was no way sufficient to deal with the intense heat.
- T (9/5): Perfect getaway, would return. - Clear information was shared ahead of arrival, and the team had the foresight to book dinner for me at their pub, so I didn’t have to hunt for food that first evening. The pub food was excellent and felt noticeably more elevated than the place next door. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the stay included a generous breakfast that was consistently well stocked. I also appreciated that the pre-arrival information highlighted local hikes, which was exactly what we were hoping for. As cooking isn't allowed in the cabins due to fire hazard, this was a bit tricky to manage on the day the pub was closed/ bank holiday. Options in surrounding towns also limited due to the holiday.
- Mark (9/5): Very much enjoyed staying in a slightly out-of-the-way spot with kind and helpful staff. - Very helpful and friendly staff, excellent food, accommodation in a beautiful spot. Very clean, very comfortable, well designed and interesting huts/cabins with high quality but pleasingly understated furnishings and facilities. Nice breakfast left for us in the cabin - granola, Jersey milk, apple juice, v good bread, tea, coffee etc. Nice touch with couple of games, some interesting books, and as a bonus, no TV. Happy to recommend. We stayed for one night only, but would happily stay longer. Thank you. Not much! To be very picky, perhaps having to climb onto the bed to dim the main cabin lights.
- Rachel (10/5): Fantastic staff, delicious food and they were so kind to us when our car broke down - Th way you were left to enjoy the facilities yet such friendly staff when you did need anything and went to the pub. Cabin was beautiful - breakfast delicious and bathroom products
- Edward (8/5): -
- morris (8/5): An enjoyable break with an excellent dinner in the pub. - Particularly liked the sourdough bread and cherry compote. A bottle of water would have been a welcome addition.
The location is superb, particularly the wild planting. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to sit out on the balcony. The steps up to the bed are difficult to negotiate in the middle of the night. It would help to have a hand grasp screwed to the wall to enable us older guests to appreciate the bed!
- Greg (10/5): Stunning location, gorgeous cabins, friendly staff and amazing food ❤️ - The cabins themselves were incredibly well constructed with a high level of finish, friendly locals, the staff were perfect and very attentive from setting the sauna for us to serving food and drinks in the evening, stunning location, could not recommend highly enough, thank you
- Clara (10/5): We loved every second, and we cannot wait to come back for a walking holiday. - Beautiful location and such a cosy little cabin, beds are super comfy and bathroom surprisingly spacious with powerful shower and hot water. Breakfast was left in the room which consisted of fantastic local yoghurt, home made granola, seasonal home made compots, jams and butters, fresh sourdough loaf and we were offered for this to be topped up if we wanted for the next day. Absolutely delicious with an amazing view to eat on the balcony. The staff couldn't be more helpful and attentive in the run up and duration of our stay. The pub booked us a dinner for our first evening, nose to tail menu and came with a fantastic wine recommendation, reasonably priced for such good quality food in a lovely intimate setting. Shout out to Rosoin who also went above and beyond for us during our stay. We will be back for a walking holiday soon. iron/ ironing boards left in the room (when I required one the pub was shut)
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jo (10/5): Beautiful Cabin in Stunning Location - Stunning location, beautiful cabin in the meadow next to the pub. We slept so well. Delicious breakfast left in the fridge. It was so nice not to have to rush to be ready for breakfast and the weather was so lovely we were able to breakfast on our veranda. We highly recommend the food in the pub itself, amazing. Staff were warm, welcoming and friendly too. We hope to come back soon.
- Stirling (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marco (9/5): Superb - Excellent stay. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Surroundings were lovely and the cabin was of a high quality. Food at the attached restaurant was excellent.
- Clare (7/5): Good - When we arrived, the heating had not been switched on in the cabin, so it was very cold and unwelcoming. Too much furniture. Fiddly steps to get into bed. Thermostat noisy. Not enough yoghurt for 2 people. Supper was expensive and slow to arrive. The rump steak was chewy.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location and the staff took every opportunity to go above and beyond. Phenomenal service
- Reena (10/5): Breathtaking views in a cosy cabin with one of the best meals we’ve ever had at the pub- perfect - Stunning location right off the beaten track which is what we wanted, beautiful cabin that smelt divine, clean and neat with all you need with a breathtaking view The road to access the property was very hairy and quite scary in our little car but it was worth the trip for the accommodation, friendly welcome and exceptional food
- Carl (10/5): Brilliant place and even better staff. - Everything Nothing
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (9/5): Superb -
- Lyndsey (10/5): Perfect - Our stay at the cabin in the wild was just what we needed. The location was peaceful and secluded, offering a great escape into nature. The cabin had all the essentials, making our stay comfortable and easy. It was well-equipped, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout. Overall, it was a great spot to relax and unwind, and we would definitely consider coming back.
