- Ava (9/5): - Great remote beachfront location with a lovely pool and incredible lush landscaping, including beautifully maintained tropical plants throughout. The hotel is far from the city, so it’s best to come prepared with everything you’ll need for your stay, including food, though the convenience store and small restaurant next door have some basics. Staff were friendly and helpful while still respecting guests’ privacy. We especially enjoyed using the communal kitchen to prepare our own meals. We would definitely return if we’re in the area again. We chose a room without AC, which was comfortable temperature-wise in February with just a fan, but mosquito nets would be helpful in rooms that don’t fully seal from the outdoors.
- Merle (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (1/5): - No blankets, no hot water, no internet connection and extremely poor communication from upper management.
- Cortez (10/5): -

Me encantó.
- Borbala (9/5): -
- Marjorie (8/5): - Beautifully decorated and maintained immaculately No hot water in shower
Beach does not have a swimming cove so all swimming is done in waves .. not ideal
- cecilia (10/5): relaxing and the most amazing sunrise + sunsets near Puerto Escondido - Casa Chula has the perfect balance of comfort + proximity to the ocean + relax environment + design sensibility I was there last for the high season (January) , but usually like to come back when it is a bit quieter in March -October
Privacy e relax totali. Consigliatissimo
- cecilia (10/5): The highlight of our stay was to be able to see 4 whales of shore playing in the water. - The beach location is great. Casa Chula is surrounded by beautiful nature and design
- Claudia (9/5): The best Rest - it is remote there is a quiet policy in place which was amazing. We really rested nothing
- Magdalena (10/5): Extraordinary place - I loved how green the hotel area wI
as. Everything was super clean and exceeded our expectations. We visited other places on the coast, and this one felt special. First, I thought it would bother us nothing is happening there, and there are no restaurants, but this was not the case at all. I would bring more fresh food next time as the kitchen was well equipped for cooking There was a lot of noise one (very early) morning. I'm not sure what it was, but it felt like we were in the middle of the construction site. The next day, there was no noise.

- Cliodhna (10/5): I would love to return here some day. - Everything! We adored this place and having stayed in 6 different places during our 2 week trip in Mexico, this was the favorite. The location is out of this world. Hardly any construction along the coast and not many people. It is truly a most relaxing place. Loved it all.
- Tate (10/5): -
- Lila (9/5): Superb -
- Jason (9/5): Serenity at the beach - Excellent attention to the plants and vibe It would be nice to go in the middle of the week when there’s less people, or without children present
- Lee (8/5): Paradise - Initially we weren’t sure about the remoteness of the location but we spent 3 fabulous, relaxing days here in Paradise at this gorgeous 11 room resort. Arriving was a little worrying as it is down a long dirt road leading to the beach. But once we arrived that was forgotten. The accommodation and communal areas were wonderful and the beach was stunning. So many tables, chairs, sun loungers, umbrellas, hammocks and even a swinging bed on the beach that there was always somewhere to sit to sun bathe, lie in the shade or just watch the sunset. There’s also a lovely small infinity pool overlooking the beach which is partly shaded most of the day and therefore a real bonus. We had the family room (Pez) which was large with a super king bed, 2 separate sofas in the room which I assume turn into single beds if travelling with kids, 2 ceiling fans and newly installed air conditioning (which wasn’t working yet). A very large bathroom with shower and wc. No hot water unfortunately, but not particularly necessary as it’s so hot there! We also had a lovely verandah with comfy sofas which we used when it was too hot to be in the midday sun.
There is a very well equipped shared kitchen as there is no on site restaurant or bar. So great if you’re happy to bring your own food and prepare your own meals. Be wary though as no supermarket nearby so bring all the food necessary for
Your stay. We did eat twice at the next door restaurant which was ok but not great. Open from 8am till 6pm. We also ventured to Puerto escondido which was about 35 mins away by car but were so glad to be staying at Casa Chula and couldnt wait to get back there! Helena who is on site was so lovely and helpful. She couldnt do enough to make our stay great. A real asset to the accommodation. Overall a fabulous self catering accommodation. But you definitely need a car unless you’re not planning on going anywhere during your stay.
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect spot for a relaxing vacation. The grounds are beautiful with lush plants and lots of spots to hang out. Rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Felt really luxurious. The pool was refreshing and clean. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Kitchen is well equipped for preparing your own meals, but come prepared with groceries. The small store nearby does have some essentials, but selection is limited. The restaurant nearby was good.
Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet and secluded getaway.
- Ruairi (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely stunning location and the rooms are very peaceful. Great place to get away and switch off!! Nothing!
- De (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - It's nice
- Feikokei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jens (10/5): The place has a really picturesque and clean outside area with many places to relax and enjoy the pool and the beach. Th - Looks, cleanliness, garden/pool/beach area, bring your own drinks
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous place. We'd go back in a minute.
- Eduardo (10/5): Peaceful - So close to ocean and open concept. internet did not work as well. Which is very good actually because the place is for you to disconnect. But If you have to make work calls you need to drive to the city which is 25 minutes away for full internet access.
- Laura (10/5): Beautiful quiet place to relax and escape - Beautiful location, the view from the top floor rooms is stunning. It’s remote and quiet, the sunrises and sunsets are amazing. The pool is so nice and there are so many lovely seating areas. The kitchen is great and well equipped with clear spaces for food storage and the rooms are stylish and clean. Nothing!
- Rojas (9/5): Superb - The place is beautiful and the location is just by the beach, the room was perfect and very romantic. Nothing
- Racpetin (10/5): It is a slice of heaven. - Everything.
- Chester (1/5): NOT a Boutique Hotel, but an expensive Back-packers Hostel! This was NOT as described - The tranquility. Some other guests. The location close to the beach (which we cleaned of plastic every day). The girls who cleaned our so-called "suite" (a word used to describe a set of rooms, NOT a very, very small bedroom with nowhere to sit and a bathroom with no dividing door; false advertising?), and the gardeners, who were always happy. My "suite" with a balcony was a very, very small room with NOWHERE to put clothes!, only a hat rack; We lived out of suitcases for 2 weeks. NO mosquito netting, only chemical poisons!; (NO sea view!; NO pool view!; NO kitchenette!; ALL as per Booking.com's booking confirmation). The common kitchen was subject to having your groceries taken by other guests. ONLY one person at a time can make coffee and only two can cook at a time. Many forget to wash up. NO reception and NO follow up by Arturo (manager?) in person. Request for a hair dryer ignored by Arturo. NO English spoken, which is fine but most written communications with Arturo (who spoke English) were in Spanish.
- Cornelia (10/5): Out of this world - Absolutely unique experience, quiet and beautiful surroundings We enjoyed absolutely everything, however keep in mind its location will require a planning your transport or renting a car.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - - Amazing beach front propertie
- Beautiful pool with lots of shade
- comfortable lounge area with amazing sea. views
- Almost private beach with not to much people
- Beautiful sunrises
- fully equiped kitchen
- the cats!
- away from everything, which we liked but be sure you rent a car! - the noise in the morning (we stayed at the bambu room wich is next to the kitchen, at 8 the staff started cleaning the kitchen with a lot of noise and music).
- the fact that all the rooms are very close to eachother so no privacy. (Next to us was a couple with a child from 1 year old , hé cried every mornig so we woke up at 7! We where there to sleep out and relax wich was not possible) We suggest to make the hotel adults only! Then we will come back! The environment is not that childfriendly and the sea very dangerous even for grown ups! You can not swim in the sea.
- We had a problem with our booking and Angelica the manager was so rude and unhelpfull! The first time in our 15 years of travelling in latin america that we had such a bad experience with the manager!
- watch your stuff beacause they stole food from us out of the fridge (other guests).
- Eloyer (9/5): Superb - Great location!
- Raluca (8/5): Very good - It was a very nice place to stay for a couple of days remote from everything. There is a shop close and the restaurant stayed open till 6 so even if you don’t bring a lot of stuff with you you will be ok.
Host was super responsive and helpful, we used his recommended taxi driver too who was lovely! There was no hot water, which may have been clear in the description but we didn’t notice, was really not a big deal and a very minor inconvenience.
Wifi signal is not great but it’s to be expected, just be ready to disconnect for your stay.
- Francesca (3/5): Poor -
- Maria (9/5): Relaxing sea-front stay in isolated paradise - Place is beautiful. Rooms were tiny but authentic. Design is curated. Very relaxing stay Wifi is really never working.
Staff was very rude and tried to ask us for money for their mistake…
- Cecilia (10/5): Exceptional - the space feels really special from all the plants to the lovely pottery in the shared kitchen. Sunsets are epic and the whole place feels relaxed and cared for.
One of my favorite place to go and unplug. THe wifi, if you have to work remotely, is completely reliable.
- Ana (8/5): Beautiful place to spend days by the beach and enjoy nature. - Beautiful property and environment. Virgin tranquil place with wonderful vegetation. Very attentive and flexible staff. Nice decor. I loved the place but we got very sick from eating at the reommended restaurant and spending 3 days with wtaery diarrhea without air conditioning was difficult. In normal conditions should be great!
- Cmfosterwriter (10/5): As perfects as possible - This is a glorious gem of a seaside retreat. There are fresh white cushions on the seaside and poolside loungers. White cotton hammocks and even a swinging bed are all tucked in around the tropical garden facing the rolling sea. The beach is largely undeveloped though there is a small restaurant nearby. The resort's communal kitchen works beautifully for tea, coffee, and includes the use of a fridge and stove so you can cook if you wish. The room was decorated with bamboo and seagrass with a lovely seaview balcony. It was policy that the towels are washed everyday, and the bed changed daily, so we told the cleaning staff directly to skip every other day.
- Hector (7/5): Good - A great location. Rooms are nice No hot water. No water pressure in shower.
- Twyla (10/5): Tranquil, beautiful, off the beaten path beachfront villas - We loved our stay here. The staff was so amazing, and everything was extremely kept up and clean. They brought us fresh coconuts in the morning and helped us with whatever questions we had. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer The only thing that was difficult for us was rather inconsiderate and loud families who kept their children up extremely late screaming by the pool. This was obviously NOT the fault of the property owner and staff who did an amazing job.
- Kseniia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Friederieke (10/5): Highly recommend - We had such good time at Casa Chula, it‘s (still) a hidden paradise. From our room we had the best view over the sea. Everything was very clean and extremely cared after, the staff was so friendly and professional. Make sure to bring your own groceries, and also visit the restaurant next door.
