Guest Reviews
- Charlotte (10/5): Best Homestay in all Asia we’ve done ! - Everything was amazing, the best homestay we’ve ever done in Asia!
Dian André and their daughter are just so nice, they really know how to make you feel at home. They have very good tea, Javanese treats.
I was sick and Dian did a traditional Indonesian massage on me called Kerokan to heal me.
And Andre took us to the rice field and play Javanese flute. The perfect stay in Jogyakarta.
We stayed two nights but wanted to stay a week.
They rent scooter and Borobudur is close to the place. Nothing

- Michal (10/5): I hope I can stay here again someday.❤️❤️❤️ - Amazing lovely family ❤️
Rien
- Tony (10/5): Thank you for everything xxx - Our wonderful hosts who made us feel welcome in their home and included us in some family events. This meant so much to us and enriched our experience 😀
- Landen (10/5): Awesome - Amazing hosts. Andre and his family made me feel at home, and Andre even walked me through the rice paddies. We jammed a bit, talked about painting. This place is great for artists, digital nomads, or chilling in the outskirts of Yogya. Facilities are pretty basic and shared. It really feels like living with a family. But it was always clean and the hosts were attentive.
- Laura (10/5): Best stay in Java! - This was the cuetest family we've met so far on our trip! The house was super clean and very beatiful. They were very helpful with planing our trip, gave us a lot of tips about the region and we could use their scooter to get around. We would absolutely recommend this stay if you are in Java and want to visit Borobudur.
- Flavio (10/5): Lovely place, friendly owners, would come back - Our stay with Dian and Andreas was wonderful! The first day they invited us for lunch with their family for Eid Mubarak at a nice restaurant. This was totally unexpected but very kind ☺️. During our stay they always offered us snacks or tea and made sure my girlfriend was feeling better (she was a little bit sick). Dian prepared us a different breakfast each morning and Andreas walked with us a little bit around the rice paddies and gave us some fruits.
Their home is in a very rural and calm area, surrounded by beautiful nature. It is easily reachable from the city by Grab or Gocar. The room was clean, cozy and had AC.
I would definitely come back again and recommend this place to other people! Thank you☺️
- Núria (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy homestay of a lovely family near gorgeous landscapes of rice fields. They are very helpful, they even brought me by motorbike to the best rice fields for the sunset.
- Daisy (10/5): Beautiful homestay in nature, a must visit! - Beautiful and unique homestay in nature. Andreas and Dian and their family were wonderful hosts and gave many helpful recommendations as to where to visit in the area. The house itself was stunning, having been designed and built by Andreas who is a talented artist. It is an easy motorbike ride away from Borobudur! We were also shown around the local village and saw the rice plantations which I highly recommend. The bike we rented at the homestay was one of the best we've used while travelling. A truly authentic vibe with lovely people. Thank you guys! Nothing!

- Eddy (8/5): Good place to stay - Andreas and Dian took good care while I was staying at the venue. Breakfast, information of sorrounding areas, transportation, you name it, they will provide and help you.
Andreas & Dian parents are very nice.
It feels juat like home
- Daniel (10/5): The nicest stay imaginable - Dian and Andreas cared about us like their own. They are heartful people with a very nice family house. They showed us around the farmland, rented us scooters, gave us tips, spent time with us, prepared local fruits for us… there was nothing we missed during the stay. It was a relaxed and sweet experience with the kindest locals.
Matur nuwun and hope to see you again!
- Krishna (10/5): Exceptional - One of the most unique places I've stayed! The interior of the place was beautifully decorated by the host (the father of the little family). He has built the place and decorated himself, obviously with a lot of love and care. The family were so welcoming and inviting, we felt like part of the family during our stay. A super special place.
- Lison (10/5): Best stay in Indonesia - We had an amazing time with Dian, Andreas and their incredible family. They welcomed us so well that we felt like home. We only wished we could have stayed longer! Nothing
- Sulenni (10/5): Exceptional - Very warm hospitality by Dian and family. Very serene area as well, especially if you're looking to have a good rest away from the bustling city. It has a great view of the fields and also a short walk to larger pastures of field. Very relaxed and chill vibe. You can also take a short trip to nearby mountain and waterfalls, non touristic. Usually just locals
- Gideon (10/5): A very friendly and welcoming family - The hosts really made us feel a part of their super welcoming family, truly an unforgettable stay. Dian and Andreas always showed interest in how our day was, if we needed anything, and they were also very interested in our lives back home. We exchanged many stories, making our stay at Gado-Gado very pleasant. We are surely gonna miss them. -
- Maulina (9/5): Superb -
- Kose (10/5): Exceptional -
- Davide (6/5): False listing images... - In general a nice stay if it wouldn't be for the untruthfullness of the listing... Honesty is one of my core principles that I try to follow but unfortunately the images you see on booking are from the living room (that you can't book) and not from the room itself. They give you the option to book the "room" with multiple windows and large bed but that does not exist. In my opinion not fair and when I asked for that room she said "I am sorry it does not exist". Not fair to the guests.
- Rebeka (10/5): True homestay experience - It's the people that make this place special. The hosts are one of the warmest, kindest and most welcoming and helpful people that we met in Indonesia. They speak English so the communication is easy, you can always get good advice from them. They also showed us around the neighbourhood, forest and rice field which was a memorable experience. Thank you again for everything!
The breakfast was good. We were also able to rent a scooter for a very good price.
Another special thing about this place is the house that is beautifully designed and painted.
The location is a bit far from the city, but it's in the nice village street, surrounded by rice fields and forests. The rooms are pretty basic and the location is a bit out of the city, but this are just minor inconveniences and I would still recommend this place to everyone.
- Jan (10/5): We can highly recommend this place to anyone who wants insights into the indonesian life apart from the city. Dian and A - Dian and Andre welcomed us warmly at the Gado-Gado BnB and offered us a tea. We arrived at 8 AM and could immediately check into our room and take a shower. If you are looking for a calm and relaxed stay in the nature, you will love this place! We went for a long walk with Andre and he showed us many different kind of fruits, we even tried some of them, rice fields and a rice factory. We were fascinated by the beautiful nature and the friendly people that live here. We learned a lot about Indonesian culture, and food and the life outside of the city. Dian and Andre made us feel at home in their beautiful, self-built house, which has a relaxed and easy-going vibe. They are really interested in getting to know you and helping you out if you need help. Andrè even went to the bank with us the help us with our credit cards. The breakfast was special and different each day and very tasty. We also rented a scooter for 24 hours for 70.000 Rupiah. After they gave us some recommendations, we visited a beautiful waterfall mountains, which was 30 minutes away by bike. If you like to play football, there is also a futsal pitch close by. We visited the place in the evening and got to know friendly Indonesian students, who let us join their game. There is a small shop 20 meters away from the BnB and you can easily access the main road by foot and find some tasty and cheap street food. Sometimes the room got a little bit hot and there was only a ventilator and no A/C. (like it’s written in the description). We didn’t mind, but there was no hot water.
