Guest Reviews
- Prajapati (10/5): - I had an excellent stay at Sand Delight Camp in Wadi Rum. The camp was very clean and comfortable. The room was spotless, the food was delicious, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. The desert views were beautiful, and everything exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!
- Laura (10/5): The best Wadi Rum experience we could have asked for - If you are thinking about staying in Wadi Rum, Eid is honestly the best option you could choose. He made the whole experience unforgettable from the very beginning.
He picked us up at the Visitor Center and took us on an amazing full-day tour through the desert, showing us the most beautiful places in Wadi Rum and taking lots of incredible photos for us.
At sunset, he prepared delicious Bedouin tea while watching the most beautiful sunset of our lives. The camp itself is amazing, complete peace in the middle of the desert, with super special tents that make the experience feel magical.
We had a delicious traditional Bedouin for dinner, and later we drank tea under the stars while chatting together. It became one of our favorite memories of the trip.
We were so sad we couldn’t stay longer, but we will definitely come back and repeat the experience with Eid again! Yalla!
- Duri (10/5): Highly recommend it to everyone - We spent a wonderful day and night in the desert at Eid's camp. The agreement in advance was problem-free and even the things we left open were flexibly agreed on the spot. We saw all the interesting places in the desert on two jeeps. Lunch was prepared and cooked for us right in the desert, it tasted amazing. We spent the evening in the camp, where we again got great food and we could smoke shisha. The children had an unforgettable experience. The camp is located a little bit in a different place than the google map indicates.
- Maiko (9/5): - お湯はでてシャワーは快適でした。
夕食もおいしかった。 タオルはあるかないか事前に確認した方が良いです。
- Anni Sch (10/5): -
- Michael (1/5): Only interested in selling you activities - Host promised that I could stay a second night but after I said that I would not book an activity (such as a jeep trip) with them, he became very rude and complained that I didn't pay enough. Then he suddenly said that the camp was booked up completely the next day and I couldn't stay (I verified that it was a lie--which was obvious since there were only 7 people there the night I stayed, in a camp that probably can host 120 people). They just want to blackmail you into booking an activity. Not the bedouin hospitality that I've heard about.
- Beatricia (10/5): - We stayed 2 nights at this desert camp and had a wonderful experience. The tent was very clean and equipped with everything we needed, including outlets for charging and hot water. The camp’s location is truly one of the best in Wadi Rum, with breathtaking views of both sunrise and sunset.
Breakfast and dinner were delicious, and our host Eid was exceptionally welcoming. We really appreciated that he provided a clear list of all tours and activities with prices upfront, no hidden costs or surprises. We chose the full-day jeep tour, which was a fantastic experience and a lot of fun.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return, but next time for longer than just two nights!
- Gabriela (10/5): - I had an incredible experience in Wadi Rum, and I have to thank Eid for making it truly unforgettable. From the moment the tour started, Eid showed genuine care, attention, and hospitality that made all the difference. His deep knowledge of the desert, warm company, and thoughtful approach ensured that every moment was special.
The afternoon tour was diverse, exciting, and beautifully planned — from breathtaking landscapes to unique local spots, everything was perfect. Eid knows the desert like no one else, and it truly shows in the way he shares it with you.
This is without a doubt the best choice for anyone wanting to experience the magic of Wadi Rum. Highly recommended!
- catherin (10/5): Amazing stay, and great staff who will take care of you - The view was phenomenal, we had the place to ourselves, so no need share bathrooms with anyone. Eid was very attentive and offered to pick us up from the visitor center. Cooked lunch for us while doing a full day jeep tour, later took us to watch the sunset and at night made a fire for us, what a lovely day! Everything was great
- Emma (10/5): Great guide - friendly, knowledgeable and funny - in an amazing location. - Amazing place to stay, if you want a tour of the wadi rum and an insight into Bedouin life I’d highly recommend this camp. Your guide, Eid, takes really good care of you (and is really quite funny). He’ll offer you any activity you can think of - sleeping in a cave, jeep tour, camel ride etc. Just ask and he’ll deliver. 10/10 will be back again. Nothing :)
- Mirza (8/5): Very good - Abo Fahid was so friendly and welcomed us with delicious traditional food. everything was very good and professional.
recommended
- Klára (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodation was as described, tent was spacious and clean.
We also booked 4-hours jeep ride and I definitely don't regret it - we had a great time with Eid! I recommend it! Everything was good.
- Hamzaahmed99 (10/5): Exceptional - Eid was a wonderful guide and he helped out my family a lot! They loved the desert tour and the food hospitality, also Eid helped out my family to get to Amman and show them the city. He went well and beyond to help them out. Definitely recommend you to stay at his place! Nothing, everything was great
- Sofía (10/5): Absolutely recomended - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eid Camp. He was a very kind guy who came to pick us up and treated us wonderfully at all times. We took the full-day desert tour with him and saw beautiful places. We ate with them at their camp, and they treated us to a delicious dinner, cooked under the desert sand. The tents were beautiful and very cozy. The colors were very pretty, and the beds were very comfortable. The rooms were spacious with a bathroom, and through the large window, you could see the camels passing by while you lay in bed. Everything was so clean. Without a doubt, we highly recommend it and will repeat it when we return to Jordan. It was a fantastic experience. Thanks to Eid and his entire team for the great service they gave us!
- Annecchiarico (10/5): My staying at Wadi Rum Sun Delight Camp was pure magic. - Everything was just perfect, the position is great, breakfast is amazing, the rooms are very clean and confortable. Eid and his cousin Salem are so friendly and nice, they made me feel at home! The tour they organized for me was incredibile, you get to see many beauties of the desert, at a price which is more than affordable. I really couldn't have asked more! If you want to travel around Wadi Rum, Eid's Sun Delight Camp is the best home you could ask for in the middle of the desert. Nothing to declare, I liked everything.
- James (10/5): All good 👍 - Everything was great, as the other reviews say.
The tour with Mr Eid was a really good experience and everything at the camp was comfortable. The upside down chicken was lovely!
Eid arranged a cheap taxi for us to Aqaba the next morning, which was very convenient.
- Juliana (8/5): I would highly recommend the camp. Comfortable and great experience - It was bigger than I imagined. Clean, tidy and tge staff were very nice There wasn’t really any hot water so difficult to wash in the cold wheather
- Ahmet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mjkooter (7/5): Good - The location was great, and the food was surprisingly good. I really love the desert , and Wadi Rum is beautiful, so that'll influence my review. - Regarding the accommodation, the mattresses are in desperate need of being replaced. They're lumpy and compress down to nothing while you sleep.
- Regarding the overall experience, I hated how much the prices fluctuated. I thought I had managed to negotiate a fair price for my tour/accommodation, and yet every other tourist I spoke to paid less; even taking into account their tours and nights stayed. This left a bad taste in my mouth.
- Samit (10/5): Great location to enjoy solitude and live the Bedouin way. - Fantastic location, the sunset and sunrise from the camp is awesome. You can enjoy solitude with no one around to disturb .
The dinner with local Jordanian bedouin food is great.
Morning breakfast was also nice. Tea / Coffee is available all day.
The camp is a basic bedouin tent set up..
Water and Electricity is dependent on solar heaters ( believe all camps inside wadi rum are too).
There are enough blankets should you need so ( we needed as it gets very cold inside the desert during end December).
The camp rooms are clean and well maintained. Has traditional bedouin rugs and ceilings as in pictures.
The central dining room is very comfortable and the camp owners run a Gas heater ( very necessary during end Deember).
Mr Eid is a very nice host. He connects with you and meets you at the visitors center to pick you up to take you to the camp and also drop you off ( should you book a 4 hr or more ride with him).
His desert safari Jeep ride rates are good, maybe lesser than other camps too. We booked a 4 hour wadi rum tour with him and thoroughly enjoyed. Don't know about camel rides.
Please Note :
Please carry water, biscuits , snacks etc which you may need.
We were provided a large bottle of water, but I believe that is not the standard custom. Nothing really. .. except the below :
Photos of Martian camps in the booking page >>> There aren't any .
Photos of rooms with AC in the booking page >>> There aren't any.
And maybe a shelf to keep your things/ bags would be great.
Rest is all fine.
- Giulia (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful experience. Very nice acomodation, delicious food and beautiful tour by jeep/camel. Most importantly our host was very friendly and welcoming. Hope to come back soon Nothing
- Emad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (10/5): Where should i begin. First , Eid met me warmly at the bu stop and allowed me to tailor my trip independently. Ended up - Everything!!! The location and sunsets were epic!!! Food was top notch as well Nothing
- Kadir (10/5): Great - Journey with wadi Rum sand delight camp in dessert was great. Staff was really hospitable especially mr zeyd. Dinner was delicious we enjoyed it. Shukran for everything. Hope to see you guys again
- Theresaraju (10/5): One the best stay - Mr Eid was very hospitable and very kind. He waited and greeted me from the visitor center. Mr Eid did the jeep tour at the reasonable price. The tent was so comfy to stay. The location was perfect to watch the milky way. The buffet dinner and buffet breakfast was delicious. Everything was perfect. Nothing.
- Salman (10/5): Amazing trip of Wadi rum - Amazing trip
- Heidi (10/5): Excellent camp and tour guide Eid - The property is well located away from the village and other camps, the camp is clean and spacious as pictured. We arrived later than expected, Eid was there to meet us and saved some dinner for us which was very considerate. We booked a full day tour and enjoyed it so much that we added a hike the following morning. Highly recommend staying at least 2 nights and using Eid as a guide. He has a great sense of humor and is very talented cook. Nothing
- Waheb (9/5): Great experience and kind personal - The ride was amazing, and the chef was so kind and helpful.l
The calm of the place in the night is refreshing.
The fact that you don't have access to the internet makes a lot of good difference. There is nothing I didn't appreciate
- Sovan (9/5): An amazing and memorable stay and experience! - Everything! The room was exactly as shown in the photos, it was quite big, the bed was comfy and we got a good night's sleep. The bathroom was nice and clean with a hot shower. The best part was the dinner that was included in the price we paid: it was extensive and very tasty. The breakfast (also included) was good with optimal choices.
We loved the location, at night we could see the milky way clearly and it was very peaceful. We spent some time with other travellers and our fantastic host Eid (who laid out comfortable mattresses on top of seats for us to lie on outside the dining hall) exchanging travel stories and star grazing. Each room had its own patio, and we spend some more magical moments before sleep just absorbing the nature. And then we woke up in the morning to fantastic mountain views!
However, the best part was probably our host Eid. To start with, he picked us from the Visitor Centre even though late at night even though we were a few hours late (we later realised that this had delayed his dinner!) at no additional charge. He communicated with us to ensure that he was waiting for us at the Centre and we didn't get lost.
We also took the Wadi Rum dessert tour with him, his prices were very reasonable (compared to what I had searched online). He took us to 7 spots (4hr), covering all those mentioned in other tours. He told us about the Bedouin lifestyle and culture. Our tour also included a free tea break. He finally dropped us in the village where our taxi awaited us to take us back from Wadi Rum (at no additional cost).
Overall, an amazing and memorable stay and experience! Nothing!
Please note that there was no internet in the area, but maybe it was a blessing in disguise to be just connected to nature for a night :) (our host did offer us to drive for 5 min to get signal but we declined).
- Nicholas (10/5): Beautiful views, amazing people, great company - I had an amazing stay at Wadi rum and my host Eid was the best.
The lodging was well maintained and the private facilities and plumbing was very good. The camp was very clean and organized.
They had an amazing chef and the breakfast they served was a great way to start each day during my stay. They also provided a delicious traditional dinner each night and you can expect great company from the guests and the staff.
The camp was very peaceful and they had many spots that were great for star gazing, seeing the sunrise and sunset. Absolutely breathtaking views!
Eid my host is was friendly and knowledgeable, he aways had the best activities available..... hikes, jeep tours, site seeing, camel rides, 4×4 excursions ..... and my favorite was visiting with the bedouin and having traditional food and experiences. Whatever you want to do in wadi rum Eid is your man. He's the best!
If I had to sum up the trip in a short sentence I would be:
Good music, good food, and good company.
- Norbert (10/5): Fantastic tour with Eid and superb hosts in the camp - Booking this accommodation was probably one of the best decisions during our visit to Jordan. You may find several very similar accommodations in the area: the tents and the camps are going to be very similar with very similar services, but none of them has Eid, who is the person who makes a real difference.
We booked this accommodation looking for possibilities to book a tour in the desert too. We didn’t know how lucky we were when Eid wrote that he also offers day tours. We booked it and spent a fantastic day with him in his beloved desert.
He took us to the must-see places, and some more; left us for small hikes, prepared a fantastic lunch, and cracked a few jokes which really turned the tour from a standard guided tour into a funny hike around the desert with our friend. He showed us his little game at the “chicken” stone which made this experience even more personal.
The camp is about 10km in the desert in the right direction from the village, so, likely, you will not drive there with an average rented streetcar. Eid will pick you up from the Visitor Center. The tents are spacious with decent bathrooms and running water, shower, etc. You can surely charge your phone, but there is no signal, so prepare for an e-detox night in the camp - they are happy to drive you to a place with reception if it is important, but I suggest you rather stay and talk to the locals next to the campfire they make. :) Both the dinner and the breakfast were ample and tasty. I can t really think of anything.
- Kyle (10/5): Book with confidence - Eid will make it A+++ for you - We had an amazing two nights in Wadi Rum with Eid and cannot rate it highly enough. We loved the full day tour, especially having Eid prepare us a delicious lunch. Everything was perfect.
All the camps look similar and all of them have great ratings, so the point of difference is the guide and I fully recommend Eid. You'll be in good hands - he's extremely knowledgeable and kind and his prices are extremely fair and reasonable. He also offers the option of camping the night in the Wadi, which I would definitely do myself next time, he pointed out some of the places he likes to camp with family etc and they looked amazing.
As for the accomodation: tent and bed were great, bathroom felt luxe for the desert, food was great, sunsets were beautiful.
But I get the impression all the accomodation providers are offering the same product and even using the same facilities (there are hundreds of listed options on bookings.com and nowhere near that many camps actually in the Wadi). So I recommend focusing on getting a great guide at a great price - you absolutely can't go wrong with Eid. Just do it! Cannot think of a single even slightly negative thing - we are half way through a six month trip and this was one of our top 3 best experience so far.
- Marta (8/5): Very good - Eid is a great host and tour guide! We had such an amazing jeep tour with him.
The campsite is very characterful and the staff is kind and welcoming.
We had an amazing time
- Francisco (10/5): Exceptional - All great thanks to Eid!
- Andrej (9/5): Superb - The camp is well situated far from village, nice clean room with bathroom, both breakfast and dinner were tasty and good. Communication with Eid was quick with no issue. Good price for a tour compare to the others. Also staff ready to help if you have any troubles. Can only recommend.
- Benjamin (10/5): 10/10 would always recommend. It's just perfect - This was a dream of a stay in Wadi Rum.
We got picked up from Eid at the Visitor Center, enjoyed our Jeep Tour we booked with Eid, where we saw all the amazing sights. After the tour we were brought to the camp where we enjoyed the sunset. After sunset there was a buffet where they offered grilled food, rice, noodles, vegetables and also some sweets.
The Tent had a lot of space (got upgraded to a bigger one with private bathroom). Keep in mind that the night can get a little bit cold, but they serve you with plankets so it will be fine. It's absolutely dark and silent in the desert, so enjoy the view of the stars in the sky.
In the morning they offered amazing breakfast buffet (also included). Was no downside but you won't have wifi or mobile network there. But you won't need, just enjoy the peaceful silence.
- Wasmand (10/5): Exceptional - Eid is an incredible host and a tour guide! He made sure we had the best experience and time travelling the Wadi Rum Desert. Definitely recommend staying with him a booking a jeep tour with him as he has better prices than others and will offer you more than others! It can get cold during the night in the tent and also there is no signal or wifi so be prepared
- Martín (10/5): Exceptional - The location of the camp anda the kindness of the stuff.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
