• Julian (6/5): Tolle Lage - mangelnde Sauberkeit. - Die Lage der Unterkunft ist super und man fühlt sich generell sicher. Senia ist das Herz der Unterkunft. Sie ist super erreichbar und hilft einem schnell bei Problemen. Leider war die Sauberkeit der Unterkunft nicht gut. Die Teppiche waren alle dreckig und aus dem Abfluss hat es sehr schlecht gerochen. Auch der Steinboden klebte. Trotz Reparatur während des Aufenthalts gingen einige Lichter nicht.

• Clarice (10/5): A most enjoyable stay - It was a large property with plenty of comfortable seats, the two bedrooms and bathrooms were very good, the bed linen was exceptional, there is a patio outside with two comfortable couches overlooking a lawn, from the lounge there is a view of the sea in Hout Bay Nothing!!

I got terrible bites in the neck supposedly by the bedbugs. Incredibly ugly and painful, now more than a month passed and I still got marks. Never been so disappointed with a place to stay. Wanted to add photos at first, but nobody deserves to see pics so disturbing
• Toni (6/5): Lovely location in Hout Bay - The location and views are unmatched. Staff contact was convenient and prompt. No coffee pot so we had to buy a French press which we left behind. The rooms were lovely, however the indoor and outdoor couches need some desperate upkeep in terms of cleaning which I’m not sure they have time to do between 1 person leaving in the am and the next coming right after … but unsure of how often even the throw pillows and blankets are cleaned.

• Dietmar (7/5): Großes Appartment mit großer Veranda hinter dem Haus am Hang in Hout Bay - Großes Appartment mit großer Veranda am Hang in Hout Bay, gute Ausgangslage für Unternehmungen auf der Kap-Halbinsel, große Küche, Grill, Auto wird im eingezäunten Hof geparkt etwas betagte Einrichtung, leider verwirrten die Bilder in booking, die meisten zeigen die schicke Wohung im OG mit tollem Blick auf die Bay und moderner Einrichtung und wir waren dann sehr enttäuscht das EG Appartment zu bekommen ohne schönem Blick und mit konservativer Einrichtung, aber Eigentümer versprach das in Zukunft besser darzustellen.
• Sabine (8/5): - Senia hat uns total freundlich begrüßt und ist die gute Seele des Hauses. Die überdachten Außenterassen ins Grüne mit Grill sind richtig schön und laden zum Entspannen ein. In der Küche fanden wir u.a. einen Airfryer was im Urlaub megapraktisch ist. Angenehm war auch die Ruhe auf dem Berg Leider existiert die angepriesene Waschmaschine nicht (mehr). Das sollte in der Offerte dringend geändert werden. Das Kriterium war mir bei der Auswahl der Unterkunft nämlich sehr wichhig. Senia hat mir bei der Lösung des Problems nett geholfen. Das Mobiliar ist älter, teils recht charmant, teils schon abgewohnt aber alles blitzsaubef. Etwas mehr Geschirr, Besteck usw. wäre angenehm

• Riaan (8/5): Very good - Angel was super friendly and really helpful. The unit was nicely prepared and a really comfortable stay. Loved the nature views while braaing. We had to deal with a centipede in the bed, and there was a repitively loud beeping noise. But otherwise it was awesome.

Q on Westfod provided the perfect venue for us to stay, get the bride and bridesmaids ready , be fetched for the wedding....as well as for us to stay close by to the wedding venue. • Renee (9/5): Superb - Loved that it was set back from the busyness of the coast road but everything so accessible by car or on foot, lovely view from the back verandah and lovely to be able to eat out of doors, excellent security. Really appreciated all the hanging space cupboards etc so we didn't have to live out of a suitcase .. really nice and good value too. Great to have access to a washing machine (could do with many more clothes pegs!).

A strong smell of molde and insect spray leading to an alergic reaction. Molde on cushions, lamp shades etc. A damp feeling. As there were many insects, there was an insect spray supplied to get rid of them. Bathroom smelled of sewer. it is a groundfloor flat. Front windows point on the parking. One night no running water. No response / help from the owner what so ever on messages sent. In consequence we left one day earlier, no refund ...

• Cheryl (8/5): We had a lovely break at this well equipped flat in a very convenient Hout Bay location. - A lovely location within walking distance of the beach. It was a very well equipped spacious and comfortable flat. The view from the back stoep of the mountain and forest was really beautiful. I didn't like the view of all the various cars coming and going at the front of the property and the lack of privacy if we had the curtains open. I also didn't understand why we were told in the email that toilet paper would not be provided, when it was! When I read that I started wondering whether there would even be towels provided and what kind of place we were going to. I think you should take that out of the info on the email.

Several things could be - The room was spacious and the view from the patio at the back was stunning. Large comfortable bed. Easy access and close to town and the beach. Pleasant friendly staff. The equipment for self catering was very basic and we used a non operation fridge to store our groceries as there was no cupboard space. The place lacked the finish portrayed in the well taken pictures. The bathroom had an unpleasant toilet smell. The TV due to its small size and height was uncomfortable to watch. The wifi was intermittent and not great at all.

The house is in good location, Christina was super helpful and friendly and the host was very kind, with great communication and service.

The braai was emptied/cleaned for us. Not great for self catering as the cooking equipment was minimal and cleaning equipment non existent. The house brochure said that towels and sheets would be changed every 3 days and bins emptied every day, this did not happen.

• Luvuyo (10/5): Exceptional - We liked everything, the place is breathtaking. The whole set up of the units, there is nothing we needed everything was just amazing. The white walls compliments everything, the lighting, the warm family home feel, the polite decor the bedrooms are just gorgeous, aww everything was beyond our expectations. Love, Love, Love it.... We didn't want to leave...We are definitely coming back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And ofcourse Christina the housekeeper, very polite and just warm my kids are not one to be comfortable around stranger as we were checking in they were just comfortable around her. The Owner was just a WhatsApp away and accommodated our extra needs. There is nothing we did not like at all, except we were with our daughters, all under the age of 8 years the shower was the only little hiccup but we managed well.

• Kadi (8/5): Loved it will do it again. - I would like to thank the host for the upgrade it came in very handy as my husband and I both got a very light flue, so the extra bedroom was handy to sleep separate during the coughing nights. so a very big thank you for that blessing. the separation wall between the upstairs unit was not very well done. I could hear them clearly and I am sure they could hear us as well. Both parties did not make excessive noise but it was very invasive both sides.

• Rain (8/5): Very good - Loved the location and the fresh air. Very amazing views, back garden felt private enough. very close to Houtbay beaches. Loved that there was an Airfryer and 2 fridges. The room is very big and spacious. Such a beautiful place would recommend to anyone and would stay again. We stayed about a week and it was fun and comfortable. Didn't remove feather pillows as asked beforehand unfortunately. Noisy upstairs neighbors. They don't provide any salt, pepper, coffee, tea etc but it is stated in the listing and didn't bother us too much.

• S. (10/5): Safe, warm, quiet and comfortable stay in the Hout Bay area of Capetown - More spacious than advertised and suitable for the needs of our family of 6. The host Adrian eased our frustrations by reassuring us we could check in late after our flights were delayed last minute. Christina (housekeeper) was a delight! She welcomed us in the early hours of the morning and answered questions on local shops etc. When we needed direction to the harbour she walked us there and recommended the Mariners for a seafood meal which was scrumptious and very reasonably priced. The area is safe and we walked home late evening with no issues. Christina changed our beds and tidied up on day 2 and communicated well. The house itself is a home, comfortable and clean. Plenty utensils etc. We used the Braai a few times. Christina helped us to switch on the gas heater on one chilly evening. Views of the harbour and mountains from the balconies and windows and space and chairs to sunbathe. Thank you Adrian for advising on getting basics like milk on our way to the property. We used Ubers (about 7 to 10 pounds) to V&A waterfront and the Sightseeing bus for transport around tourist sites in the whole ofCapetown. We paid for the premium tickets which gives access to all three routes over two days. Will be back next year!! Nothing of note Christina was very responsive but we did not need to ask much as the check in was thorough. Adrian communicated well and shared the housekeepers details promptly.
• Matthews. (7/5): Space and Security Shine, Details Dim the Glow - Spacious Layout: The apartment offered ample space, including an extra bedroom, providing a comfortable environment for relaxation. Effortless Check-In: Checking in was a breeze, thanks to a smooth and hassle-free process as the agent lives in a unit within the property. Charming Backyard: The presence of a pleasant backyard added to the overall appeal of the accommodation, offering a tranquil retreat. Value for Money: The accommodations provided good value for the price paid, making it an economical choice for travelers. Secure Parking: The availability of monitored parking within the yard instilled a sense of safety and security, with convenient accessibility Connectivity Challenges: Unfortunately, the unit suffered from poor signal and WiFi coverage in most areas, which could be problematic for those needing to work remotely. Hygiene Issues: Upon arrival, we discovered unwashed packed kitchenware, a sticky table, and stains on the couch, necessitating immediate cleaning and detracting from the overall cleanliness of the accommodation. Privacy Concerns: The lack of curtains on the kitchen door raised privacy issues, which may make some guests uncomfortable. Lace curtains would also be ideal on other windows instead of just thick curtains.
• Neeco12 (6/5): Pleasant - The self catering unit was spacious for a solo traveller The unit is part of a house, hence all the visitors in the larger unit next to me was extremely noisy and irritating. Both sets of visitors were noisy, but it is the house layout which was the root cause. It did not feel private at all. Parking two SUV's in front and negotiating exciting the gate is very difficult. The self catering unit is not as luxurious as indicated on the photos.

• Leo (8/5): very good self-catering apartment in Hout Bay - The Q on Westford offers spacious, self catering apartments in Hout Bay. Christina (caretaker / cleaning lady) met us at the property and gave us the keys and further instructions. She also offered laundy/ironing (at an additional rate). The kitchen is very complete and the house looks recently renovated. There are a number of small things in which the property can improve: 1. Shower curtains should be changed into a shower door, 2. Please share load shedding schedule beforehand and ensure WiFi and geyser remain on all the time, 3. it seemed like the gas tank was finished during our stay. Visitors who come driving should know that the parking at the property requires some skill in avoiding the gate and parking uphill.

• J (7/5): Photos can be deceiving - The bedrooms are well decorated and spacious. The place is clean and neat. For the price we expected more. The two bedroom unit only has a kitchenette. The fridge is too small for a family of four. No oven or microwave oven. Upon request a microwave oven was provided. Onsite parking is limited and could be a challenge if all units are occupied. The matrass of one of the single beds will give you nightmares.
