Guest Reviews
- Arek (5/5): Nie powinni podawać że śniadanie wliczone w cenę, moglibyśmy się przygotować do tego - Brudny basen, śniadanie które miało być wliczone w cenę praktycznie go nie było

- Benito (4/5): House is in desperate need of some TLC - The location, even though the road to the house is in bad shape, the views of the Etna are nice and it’s a quiet location. It’s actually a pity to have to give a low score, the house has a lot of potential but is in bad shape due to lack of proper maintenance. Airconditioning was broken, fuses blow when you turn on the outside lights, coffee maker broken and the pool dirty.
- delphine (10/5): Calme ,magnifique vue sur l’Etna - Tout était parfait 👌 calme ,magnifique, vue , confortable

- Avneet (3/5): The property is very nice, but could have used a bit more cleaning before we arrived and it would be good if the hosts a - Very nice views of Catania and Mt Etna, and the host was kind enough to let us check in early and they left complimentary croissants etc for us to enjoy. The property did come with AC which was nice in the heat, however it is only available in one bedroom and the upstairs hallway so it was quite hot in the other bedrooms. The pool was not cleaned upon our arrival and had many dead flies coming out of the filter. A man did offer to clean it about 2 days into our stay, but by that point we’d already done it ourselves with a net. One day my sister became trapped in the bathroom after trying to lock the door, we called the three numbers left on the board numerous times for 20 minutes before having to force the door open as my sister was beginning to panic. Luckily the door opened and no damage was caused, and afterwards we received a response saying that this had happened before and not to lock the doors anymore, but we were not happy with the lack of response or warning that this was a known problem and could’ve been easily avoided. Another day we were left with no electricity or running water, meaning the villa was not usable for a whole day and once again when trying to contact the owners and call them we received no response. Eventually we were able to get through to them and were told that it was the fault of the local power company, and the owners were all in a different village dealing with a problem in another property and so were unavailable to help and offered very limited contact and updates.
- Litster (3/5): Poor - It was remote and the kind of distance we were hoping for. On arrival the lady and gentleman were very lovely and provided treats, bread and milk, very thoughtful. Loved the layout inside of the villa, very spacious building. Views were stunning. We loved making friends with two dogs who always found a way into the property. Sadly, there was a very long list of disappointments. The track leading up to the villa was overgrown and bumpy (watch out if renting a car) we ended up with a flat tyre! There are no pictures on Google of this track off a main road, Google maps show a different location down the road. The only way I can describe the standards of what we faced was it was as if no one came to check the place after the last guests left. The beds were made, the floor was swept, and the bathrooms and the kitchen appeared to have been wiped down, but as our 1st day continued, more and more was revealed. Many bedroom doors wouldn't close properly. The balcony doors wouldn't open fully, so we couldn't put the chairs and table out there. Air conditioning was only in one bedroom, so the other two bedrooms were difficult temperatures to sleep in. Coffee machine sounded great but was difficult to operate and kept leaking large amounts of water, and a friend of mine got an electric shock! Kettle didn't work and had tape attaching the electrical lead into the plug. We had to clean the inside of the oven as it was left with food in there. When opening the oven door, a whole kitchen unit next to it would come away. The upstairs bathroom tub had a dusty white powder all around it. Downstairs bathroom floor, under the sink, had lots of dead flys and was just a grubby space. The outside showed seating with cushions on the pics and plenty of furniture, but we had only 3 sun loungers provided for a party of 7. No cushions were provided for the swing chairs. The outside table was dirty from the previous use, and I was so angry to also discover that both bbqs were left used, rusty, old food, and falling apart. The pool was full of bugs and leafs and general dirt because their filter was blocked where it hadn't been maintained, and to top it off, the ladder was broken and unattached. Dirt all around the inside of the pool.
- Rupert (8/5): Rural house with pretty view - Isolated house in a pretty location surrounded by greenery Minor things like kettle and fridge not working on arrival
- Aaron (8/5): Very good -
- Kartik (7/5): A very spacious villa in a nice location for a group/family stay-but requires some pre-care by hosts - Location was remote but beautiful. Wonderful view of Mt Etna on one side and sunrise on the other. Considerably large outdoors area with plenty of space to roam and play. Swimming pool was closed for the season which was to be expected.
Inside, living and bed areas were nice and spacious. Brilliant for our group to talk and just relax.
Hosts were very prompt with messaging and responses. Heating was a problem when we arrived - was fixed next day. Some lights weren't working as well as the gas stove - again fixed next day. One (of 2) bathroom flush wasn't working which wasn't possible to get fixed - this, probably, was the most challenging aspect since all of us had to share a single bathroom :-(
- Bezzina (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Huge villa for yourself with swimming pool and unforgettable views of an erupting Etna! - The villa is huge in a remote location up the slopes of Mount Etna. It was great to have the whole place to ourselves with a swimming pool with a view of Etna. At night it was really spectacular to watch the bursts of lava every 30 seconds or so! We also happened to be there when Etna erupted and it was surreal and quite an experience to see volcanic ash rain down on us and observe the large plume of smoke drift over us towards Catania. The kitchen and living room area is very spacious, and it was nice to relax with the family both inside and outside. It was also only 30 minutes by car to Taormina. The host was really friendly, and helped us find a safe route up to the villa. He also gave us lots of local tips on where to go. Our kids really loved the place and the two dogs that enjoyed hanging out with us! Not a lot, really. Just don't expect an ultra modern villa, there is some room for improvement here and there (especially the bathrooms). Also, make sure that you listen to the hosts recommendation on the road, as your GPS might take you up a very bad road. Oh, and during the night, there were some strange creatures making noises above one of the 3 bedrooms. I have no idea what they are, but they seem to wake up in the early hours of the morning and get to work.
- Ashley (8/5): Great big house, in a stunning location - The location is stunning, the house is huge...be great for larger groups or families. Salvo is a great host and keeps in touch. Well equipped kitchen. The outdoor areas could do with a bit of maintenance, the olive grove was strewn with rubbish and there were building materials left around. Shame as a couple of hours tidy up would have made a big difference. It wasn't too much of an issue for us as we were usually out and about.
- Nassif (10/5): Very nice place. Near city center. 35min from Catania. 5min from supermarkets - Spacious, beautifully view. Nice surroundings. The road is a bit harsh to go up
- Tibor (7/5): Accommodation on the hill with a swimming pool - The accommodation is off the main road and about 300 meters down an unpaved road.
A large living room connected to the kitchen, which is very well equipped with all dishes and appliances. It was very good that there was a washing machine.
Bathrooms a bit older, but it could be accepted.
The first day we didn't have hot water, but the landlord replaced the gas pump the very next day and the water was flowing fine again.
Air conditioning is only on the upper floor and not very effective, because it is only in the corridor and in one bedroom.
The bedrooms have double beds with a joint mattress and shared blankets, which can sometimes be a problem.
The beds are metal and quite noisy when you roll over the bed, so we didn't sleep well.
Mattresses uncomfortable.
The outdoor pool was very good and a pleasure to cool off in after a sunny day.
Breakfast is sweet pastries and brioches with butter and jam and juice and milk. The owner will bring them to the house every day.
The owner is very, very friendly and was able to help us with everything.
Or recommend where to go for dinner, where to park in the city, where to go to the beach. His information was very helpful and we thank him very much for that. The accommodation is on a hill and can only be reached by car.
Unpaved road to accommodation.
Very poor wifi connection.
Very weak GPS signal.
- Iuliana (10/5): Don't stay just a day or two in this house, you will regret not staying longer. - A spacious house with large rooms and two bathrooms that can ensure privacy for 3 couples with a comfortable living room and a dining room-kitchen that generously offers everything you might need for preparing and serving meals. The strong point of the house, however, is the large veranda and the swimming pool immersed in nature with a direct view of the peak of Etna volcano. We had comfortable beds, hair dryer, beach towels, sunbeds by the pool, swing on the porch. But what made our experience here truly remarkable was our host Salvo, one of the most available and dedicated people to his guests that I have met in over 20 years since we have been traveling. Every morning he brought us a freshly made sweet breakfast and sent us online links to attractions and parking lots depending on the places we wanted to visit. We booked a dinner in his home restaurant for my birthday and together with his lovely wife and daughter he prepared a real feast for us in an extraordinarily decorated room especially for my birthday.
We had Italian music during dinner, a particularly good wine and a personalized cake with greetings in Dutch. It was beyond any expectation.
- Bek (10/5): Lovely property with helpful owner. - The property is extremely nice, it’s spacious and the host was very helpful. It has a huge yard and is dog friendly.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aidan (9/5): Superb - Super villa! And super owner! Last few 300 mts leading to it needs fixing
- Christopher (8/5): Amazing and peaceful retreat at an excellent rustic villa! - The location, host and food was amazing and plentiful! The beds and pillows lacked comfort.
- Verdjinia (7/5): Nice villa, comfortable, but needs renovation. Location is very difficult to access - The house is big, had plenty of space, and all necessary facilities The place is not very well maintained, needs renovation. Furniture is old. The location is very difficult to access even by experienced driver
- Elvyra (7/5): Good - Big and spacious We had 3 bedrooms but only 2 had AC, the last few meters of the road leading to the villa is rough, you need to be careful with the location, because getting lost is bery easy and the surrounding roads are in a very bad state
- Ezz (10/5): A sweet stay at Peri Peri - Lovely property all you need is your people around you and it’s a very enjoyable experience staying in the mountains The roads getting there aren’t the best so just be cautious driving. This place is not accessible if you don’t have a car
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alyona (10/5): Exceptional - Everything just perfect! Ideal place to be away from the world, but, in the same time, just a short car ride to Taormina, Catania... The place itself is fantastic - own territory with pool, olive grove, terraces and BBQ area. Our stay was too short 🙂
