It is in a brilliant location with the beach, cafes and restaurants all in walking distance. The host was lovely, so accommodating. We would definitely recommend. Nothing.
• Panos (10/5): Comfortable, quality family break in a peaceful Essex countryside place. - We were particularly impressed with all the amenities in the house; all the potential needs and requirements were anticipated / taken care of. The house layout makes one feel comfortable and there is a lovely conservatory looking at the back garden. We intend to visit again. The visit was a result of a re-booking (originally booked for May but the visit needed to be postponed). However, it seems that there was a miscommunication between booking.com / ourselves / the landlords and this was dragging on for some time. I am not sure whose responsibility was that, but I tried my best to sort out. Also some of the personal car drivers in the wider area did not seem to concur with the peaceful countryside setting....
• Robb (10/5): Wonderful! - Everything was wonderful – the hosts, the location, the accommodation, the cleanliness, the cake! And my partner particularly appreciated the coffee machine (and coffee pods). ☕️ Pet friendliness was really important to us, so it was lovely to find dog toys (and treats!) We had a lovely time playing and lounging with our dogs in the garden, and the beach was only a short walk away (as were a few shops, cafes and restaurants). I only wish we'd been able to stay longer… ♥️ Just one suggestion: maybe pick up a few cheap DVDs from a charity shop to leave for the DVD player? I don't imagine many visitors will bring their own! But I couldn't bring myself to type this into the "What didn't you like?" field, as there was really nothing that we didn't like. 😊
• Kate (10/5): Fabulous stay at Klara’s House - Beautiful, comfortable home from home. This was our second time staying here as we absolutely loved it the first time. Amanda thinks of everything - including a home baked cake on arrival. She also left us some fresh eggs and the house is well stocked with luxurious Neals Yard hand wash to use etc. the house location is great - very close to the beach and shops. The garden is a good size and my dogs much appreciated all the dog-friendly touches - dog treats, dog blankets. We will be coming back! Nothing.

This was a very easy, smooth process. When entering the property, it reflected owners who care about your stay. Great attention to detail. The house was immaculate and every room had thoughtful personal touches. We were welcomed with a home-baked cake, which was extremely tasty and needless to say, did not last long. We also had specific needs which were catered for again with great thought. Provisions for dogs were extensive. Overall, our stay was extremely enjoyable -this was our second time at Klara's House and we are now looking forward to our third! Nothing - everything was spectacular

• Sharon (10/5): Excellent property in great location - The property was clean, spacious, beautifully furnished and equipped with everything we needed. We were three couples and appreciated the three spacious double bedrooms and ample living space, including a small sunny conservatory and secluded back garden with outdoor table and chairs. The hosts could not have been more helpful before and during our stay, offering us early check-in and late checkout. The location is very peaceful and perfect for walking to the seafront, restaurants and pubs. The outside appearance of this property might not be as appealing or attractive as some of the period cottages in West Mersea but the inside is hard to beat. Highly recommend Nothing. Everything was great.

• Jim (10/5): Lovely homely house close to everything - House is a generously proportioned 3 bed detached on an estate 5 mins walk from the beach. A lot of care has been taken to ensure a homely feel. Provision of cake, milk, plenty of coffee pods for the machine, some basic food items enough for a meal if you arrive late (replace on trust). Tastefully done xmas decorations were up for our stay (27-30 Dec). We were able to host extended family during the day without feeling cramped. Simple instructions for entry, and enough information about the area provided. Would stay again as have relatives nearby. Wifi was adequate for our needs, but may have struggled to work from there (video calls etc) if that were needed.

• Adela (10/5): This is a 10 star location!! - I want to start by saying that we travel quite often, we have been to many places in the last three years,but this house is special and has won our hearts!! It is perfect for a 100% British experience! Maximum cleanliness, attention to detail and super kind and discreet hosts! We were even welcomed with a cake made by the host especially for us! We received fresh eggs from the free-range chickens! We received fruit from the hosts! There is also coffee, tea at your discretion!! In the cupboards there are provisions (canned food, pasta, beans, rice) that you can use and replace later! There is a beautiful courtyard where you can drink your coffee! The house is chic, recently renovated, we enjoyed the intimacy of this house! Thank you for this authentic experience that we were really looking for!

There’s a nice garden too and the house’s location is within easy walking distance of the restaurants in West Mersea. The kitchen was fully equipped with high quality appliances. Lovely touches of milk in the fridge many different teas and coffee. Delicious home laid eggs and the yummy home made gluten free cake, very much appreciated. The location was in a quiet residential road, but only a 10 minute walk from the quayside and delicious fish restaurants. Each bedroom had extremely comfortable beds with quality bedding. The Neal's Yard toiletries were a luxury we all enjoyed. The bathroom and cloakroom were spotlessly clean, like all the rooms. 10/10 There was nothing in the property that we did not like, it was a perfect place to stay. We will return...

• Margaret (10/5): Wonderful spacious, family and pet friendly home from home. - Freshly laid hens eggs were provided by the hosts, and these were marked with the date they had been laid - they were full of flavour. Along with a bowl of fresh fruit and a delicious home-made raspberry and white chocolate cake this was a real welcome into a beautiful, high-end, family home. The hosts were fabulous at communicating and did everything to make our stay trouble-free. The only thing that would make the stay smoother is some bins for recycling/general waste/food waste - it wasn't a huge problem - we worked out that we needed to bag up our recycling in one bag and double knotted all waste and left it by the back gate ( and we received advise from the hosts regarding this).

• David (10/5): Fantastic weekend in a fantastic property! - The house is beautifully presented to an excellent standard. The furniture and furnishings are top notch, bathrooms are brand new as is the kitchen. The kitchen is very well equipped with lots of extras....tea, coffee, milk etc and a lovely cake on our arrival. I would highly recommend this property and location wise, it is perfect for the West Mersea coast as it is a 5 minute walk. Only very minor things really. The shower was difficult to get to the right temperature but fine once set.

• Sarah (10/5): Last minute booking - almost glad we were let down by our original booking. - Was a last minute booking as was let down by another provider. Customer service was friendly & personable. House was clean & tidy with lots of little extras that didn't need to be included but were. Even the addition of a games chest was welcome. Great that linen was included. Plenty of pillows which is always a sticking point. The fresh eggs, milk in the fridge & fresh fruit in the fruit bowl was a lovely touch especially after a 4.5hr journey. Not really a criticism but for me there were a little too many trinkets around the house as a short term rental. Only other thing was the home made cake - it was such a shame it didn't get eaten as it was coffee & walnut. We had a member of the group with a nut allergy so the tin stayed shut once I realised (before this member of the party arrived at the house).
