- Christian (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic stay with Maricel and her family. The room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The outside area is magnificent with a lot of variety of plants and animals - we obseved a Tucan right in front (1m) of us while having breakfast. We also saw some beautiful frogs and their son gave us an excellent tour around their garden. Nothing, everything was perfect!

- Clement (10/5): Great stay at Maricel's Santuario - Maricel and her family were amazing hosts and the gallo pinto was delicious. The property is a stunning conservation area with heaps of frog and bird species, and a nice little creek. nothing
- Mark (10/5): Could not have asked for more! - We arrived a little later than originally planned but were met by the owner. Immediately it became obvious that Maricel takes exceptional pride in her property and she took the time to take us on a walking tour of her “yard”. Yard is an understatement. She has a rain forest for her yard – complete with native plants, native wildlife, a stream, a waterfall, and a small lake. And there is plenty of room to explore. And if that wasn’t enough, she gave us a walking tour the next morning so we could see her rain forest in daylight hours. We were also treated to fresh – I mean, on the stalk, machete cut before our very eyes – fresh sugar cane. Yum!. And to top it all off, we saw our first sloth. Whether you are just passing through as we were or looking for a place to relax and get away from it all, Hospedaje Santuario de Ranas Valle Azul is a terrific find. It’s rare that someone takes such pride in their property but it’s exciting to see it and it is truly justified in this case. The house itself had plenty of room for 6 adults and our travel gear … and that rain forest! Wow! Though we didn’t use them, the laundry facilities were out-of-order.
