• Morton (10/5): Beachfront R&R - Fantastic location right on the beach, perfect for a morning swim and within easy walking distance of the nature reserve. The cabin was spacious, sparkling clean and had all the facilities we needed while retaining a rustic feel. Our host Mauro was on hand whenever we needed help and even made time to introduce us to a local sloth. Gracias amigo! 👍🏻 Nothing! Ignore the 'permanently closed' note on Google maps, this isn't accurate.

• Katrin (10/5): Fantastisch - Mauro ist ein herzlicher und angenehmer Gastgeber. Die Unterkunft ist sauber, funktionell, großräumig und gemütlich. Die Lage ist fantastisch, so nah am Strand und am Hiking trail im Refugio in Manzanillo. Die Terrasse lädt zu einem guten Frühstück ein. Ein gutes Restaurant ist in der Nähe. Wir können die lobenden Worte der anderen Gäste nur wiederholen.

• Birgit (10/5): Beachfront cabin - Great location right at the beach, exceptional host, who went out of his way to bring us something we forgot at the cabin to the place we were staying in Puerto Viejo. Cabins are a rustic style (which we personally liked a lot), all very nice and clean and have everything you need. Manzanillo is very nice too, super quiet and next to Gandoca PN entrance. Everything was great!

• Betolan (10/5): Seguro y confortable spot frente a la playa - Las facilidades, frente al mar, parqueo, cocina equipada, hamacas, ducha, juegos de mesa, y bonita decoración. Se les sentía los resortes a un par de colchones, pero buena relación precio beneficio.

Está en el puro centro de Manzanillo, frente al mar, tiene hamacas y sillas cómodas para relajarse frente a la playa. Mauro el anfitrión es muy amable y siempre disponible. Todo estuvo excelente.

• Marcel (9/5): Ferienhaus Karibik Style - Ein Haus im Karibik Style wie man es sich vorstellt, genau wie der Vermieter der mit auf dem Grundstück wohnt ,einen aber völlig in Ruhe lässt. Es hat alles was man braucht oder auch nicht. Es wurde alles in Stand gehalten. Einiges ist bereits in die Jahre gekommen funktioniert aber immernoch tadellos.Küche voll eingerichtet, Spiele für Kinder und Erwachsene vorhanden . Große überdachte Terrasse. Die Matratzen sind wirklich durch , das ist aber auch das einzige
• Nicole (10/5): - Mauro ist ein toller Gastgeber! Man wohnt nur wenige Schritte vom Meer entfernt. Es gibt einen tollen Garten mit jeder Menge toller Tiere. Affen und Faultiere gibt es in direkter Nachbarschaft. Es gibt drei Betten in 2 Schlafzimmern, alle mit Moskitonetz. Die Hütte ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Es gibt Bücher, Spiele, Malsachen und sogar Strandspielzeug. Mauro hat alles liebevoll eingerichtet und pflegt es mit Hingabe. Tagsüber bei Sonnenschein ist es drinnen sehr heiß, aber das ist nicht zu ändern. Es gibt drei Ventilatoren. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Bei Google steht fälschlicherweise, dass die Unterkunft dauerhaft geschlossen ist. Das stimmt nicht. Die Unterkunft ist dauerhaft geöffnet :)

• Andres (10/5): Al frente de la playa, cómodo y seguro - Me encantó la ubicación. Mauro es muy amable. La casa estaba sumamente limpia y segura. Es una casa de playa típica del lugar y no tiene aire acondicionado lo cual la hace un poco caliente, sin embargo no considero esto un inconveniente mayor ya que en la noche refresca bastante. Aparte de eso, es genial tener todo a mano al frente de la playa. El calor durante el día. Si vas con mascota tal vez quieras estar en la casa durante el día, ya que en la playa el perro pueda estar incomodo por la cantidad de gente y no puedes entrar en el parque nacional, ahí sí el calor es un gran inconveniente! El lugar se disfruta mejor sin mascotas. NO presupuesten dejar a la mascota sola en la casa.

Mauro is the perfect host! You can hear the waves from your bedroom. There's a nice porch and the area and the place is really calm. It's important to point out that the pictures of the house reflect the reality as it is. To have booked Casas del Mar was a totally success! The place is just perfect!

La maison est parfaitement située, très bien équipée et décorée avec goût, ce qui rend le séjour particulièrement confortable et reposant. Le propriétaire est extrêmement agréable, sympathique et disponible, avec une réelle volonté de faire plaisir aux voyageurs et de rendre leur séjour inoubliable. Un lieu idéal pour se détendre et profiter pleinement de la mer. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir ! -

Un hote très accueillant, gentil et prévenant. Un logement de grande qualité au cœur d'un jardin luxuriant et très soigné. Il est très difficile d'en repartir !

• Sophie (10/5): Perfect chill out house by the beach! Pura Vida! - Amazing location next to the beach! The children were straight in the sea, it’s lovely and warm. Real authentic Caribbean feel to staying here. Hammocks great to relax in. Mauro the host is so helpful and friendly - he had balls and toys etc for the children to use! The kitchen is well equipped. Beds are comfy and have mosquito nets. A place to really unwind and get away from it all. Very quiet, chilled place. Nothing! Only recommend taking bug spray, bands etc as we did all get bitten a lot! Nothing to do with the house or host though.

• John (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely bungalow next to the sea and the nature reserve. Lots of rain but that did nothing to hide the charm of the place.
• Frank (10/5): Caribbean feeling in the best sense of the word - There are two log cabins on the property, each with two adjoining rooms. Behind them are the kitchen and bathroom. Both rooms have a ceiling fan and very nice and comfortable double beds. As there are quite a lot of mosquitoes in the evenings, the beds are perfectly covered with mosquito nets - this really ensures undisturbed sleep. The spacious covered terrace in front of the house has a direct view of the palm trees on the beach and the sea - it's simply wonderful to only ‘have to’ get up and walk 20 metres to be able to go swimming on a beautiful fine sandy beach. And when you get back, the outdoor shower is already waiting for you. The only thing between the property and the beach is the unpaved path to the entrance of the national park. This means that there is regular traffic during the day, but it didn't bother us - especially as the waves made a very nice natural background noise. And it was totally quiet between 6pm and 8am. The hosts Héloise and Mauro deserve special mention. They were always available if you wanted to ask anything and were extremely friendly and accommodating. You could really see that they do their job perfectly: outside the garden was very well maintained and inside everything was super clean - plus lots of nice little things like candles, fragrance sticks and the towels were also beautifully folded. In short: we were completely thrilled. We can really recommend this accommodation without reservation. Nothing at all

The peaceful surroundings and, most of all, the proximity to the beach and the seating area overlooking the beautiful garden with hummingbirds were highlights for us. We would love to return to this place again.

• Christine (8/5): We had a great time in Manzanillo. I highly recommend renting a moto. Very reasonable. - It was steps to the beautiful beach. Flavia was wonderful and very accommodating. Mosquitos!!! So many bites. Not the property fault. The cabin was very, very rustic. The cracks in the building allowed all types of bugs to enter. I woke with a large bug crawling up my arm ( even with mosquito netting). A portable fan would have been nice to chase the heat away after the cabin was closed up for the day.
• Kathleen (10/5): Really lovely host Mauro, sweet little kitty Moosy. Great spot for people that want a more rustic experience in Costa Ri - We were most interested in finding a spot close to the beach, away from crowds, close to reef for snorkeling and nature preserve for walking. Casas Del Mar checked all of those boxes. We were able to visit the livelier communities such as Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, and Punta Uva, but then retreat to Manzanilla and the quiet (waves, birds, and monkeys) that we had hoped for… We were there for a weekend and a holiday during our one week stay, and the beach and community was a destination for locals during those days, but even then pretty quiet after dark and in the mornings. Well nothing is perfect, and did have tap water issues that our host was diligent about addressing.
• Laura (9/5): If you want an authentic Caribbean Costa Rica beach experience, this is your place! - The property was right across from the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful garden and ate our meals on the porch immersed in nature. Our host was very friendly and attentive. There were a lot of bugs, but hey, it’s in the rain forest! The mosquito nets were a Godsend.
