Theunis (10/5): Bella’s Gem! - Bella’s Place is an absolute gem! The owners, Surita and Andre, epitomizes South African hospitality. Andre welcomed me personally on arrival and Surita already had the fridge stocked with some food and drink supplies to get me started. The apartment is big and comfortable. It is immaculately clean. The bed is comfortable and warm to ensure coziness during bitingly cold highveld winter nights. The shower is spacious with plenty of hot water supply. The four large windows make the living room sunny and bright. Half of the living room is dedicated to a comfortable office space complete with a full size pool table! The kitchen is very well equipped. The WiFi is stable and the TV provides a wide range of channels you can choose from. The property is well lit outside and secure behind security gates, an electric fence, and a motion detecting alarm system. A safe parking space is available for your rental car which you will need to gain easy access to the eastern, western or central areas of Pretoria. The neighborhood is quiet with sweeping views over Waterkloof Air Force Base, the southern suburbs of Pretoria and Centurion a short walk away. The only thing I didn’t like was the nighttime and early morning cold. But highveld winter nights are cold, period. Nothing the owners can do about it. A space heater is available to warm up the apartment and the sunlight flooding through the windows quickly warms up the living room in the morning.
