• siobhan (10/5): Would recommend 100% - do the safari!! - It was clean and comfortable, incredible value and the food was delicious. We did the safari with Batu and it was the highlight of our month long trip to Sri Lanka. Batu is very friendly, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife. The property is a 4 min drive from the elephant transit home which is also well worth a visit!
• Andrea (10/5): - Hospitality of the family and at the same time they know how to value your privacy. Beautiful garden throughout the property. They offer a very reasonable price for the safari although we didnt go as we don't want to pay for the very expensive entrance fee to the park. And once we mentioned that, we did not get asked again. Really good food with great servings. And they ask you when you want to have it. Being low season, though we booked for double room they gave us the family room. Has fan and aircon in the room. We prefer fan but if it gets too warm, you can put the aircon for a bit and it makes a lot of difference. Very nice, quiet neigbourhood. We did a walk around up to the Udawalawe Reservoir and locals are so friendly. When they learned we are taking the bus to Pelmadulla, offered to take us for free to the junction using their safari jeep, so even though we didnt do the safari we got to experience the ride. • abi (10/5): - Food was very good. Local food was served fresh(roti, lentils, fish curry) for breakfast and (hoppers, sodi, egg omelette) was served for dinner. Beds were comfortable and the staff were very friendly. If travelers want a local experience in Udawalawe, I highly recommend Batu's Safari Lodge.
• Gerald (10/5): Jederzeit wieder :) - Batu hat uns herzlichst willkommen geheißen und das Abendessen, das von der Dame des Hauses zubereitet wurde, war ein hervorragendes Curry mit Reis - sehr authentisch und eines der besten das wir auf unserer Sri Lanka Reise hatten. Nach einer Nacht, die sich wie im Jungle anfühlte (rund um einen hörte man Tiere und Urwaldgeräusche :) ) starteten wir um 5:30 los zur Safari. Batu war ein super Fahrer und Guide, hat andere Routen genommen als die anderen Autos und hat uns dadurch großartige Momente, alleine mit Elefanten ermöglicht. Es war wundervoll :)
• Ellen (10/5): Tolle familiäre Unterkunft und super als Ausgangspunkt für Safaris! - Super familiäre Unterkunft, sehr netter Besitzer, die sich total nett um uns gekümmert haben! Die Safari, die wir auch direkt mitgebucht haben, war gut organisiert und sehr informativ. Das Abendessen war wirklich lecker und sehr groß. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit! Wir können es sehr empfehlen -

• Walter (10/5): Fantastico…Udawalawe Safari resort e relax - La struttura è pulita e ben tenuta immersa in un giardino tropicale dove i padroni di casa raccolgono i frutti che ti fanno gustare nelle colazioni che ti preparano con cura e passione, la cena che ci ha preparato è stata eccezionale! Noi abbiamo fatto con loro anche il safari e il giovane figlio che ci ha accompagnato ha fatto di tutto per farci vedere più animali possibili e ci ha portato anche una ottima colazione ! Consigliatissimo Quando qualcuno si prende così cura di te NON può avere aspetti negativi!!
• Marion (10/5): A lovely family, in a quiet, fresh and green lush garden with everything you need. - Our stay at Batu’s safari lodge has been fantastic ! The whole family has been very kind, welcoming and made our stay so enjoyable ! Their home and gardens are beautiful :flowers, pepper plants, fruit trees, birds, their fragile nests, butterflies, friendly squirrels… Breakfast and dinner were delicious and they went way beyond our expectations and really wanted to make sure we have a great stay. The location is very handy next to the elephant orphanage and the national park. Great safari options with knowledgeable guides. It was comfortable with AC, hot water (with good water pressure) mosquito nets, comfortable beds, drinking water, everything was clean and welcoming. We have travelled for a month in Sri Lanka and it has been the best place we stayed at. We will stay again and recommend it for families, couples and solo travellers alike. Nothing

The guesthouse is conveniently located just three minutes from the small center of Udawalawe and a few miles from the entrance to the wildlife park. Staying at Badu’s is more than just booking accommodation—you become part of a warm and welcoming community. The family goes above and beyond to ensure all your needs are met, and even the neighboring children and their families contribute to the friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Our room was spotless, featuring a lovely porch and two extremely comfortable king-size beds. The air conditioning worked perfectly, providing a comfortable stay. The family arranged both breakfast and dinner for us, and every meal was delicious. Since we were traveling with our two-year-old, we requested non-spicy food, and they accommodated our request without hesitation. Early in the morning, Badu’s son took us on a private safari tour, which was an unforgettable experience. They even arranged breakfast for us, making the adventure seamless and enjoyable. In short, booking Batu’s Safari lodge is a no brainer. Nothing
• Emma (10/5): A relaxing lush homestay and awesome safari - Beautiful property, we we’re welcomed with fresh fruit from the garden. Batu and his family are so lovely and the Safari with them was amazing and good value. They even rescued us from town after we almost got scammed and gave us a lift from the restaurant when it was raining. We highly recommend you stay here and book the safari with them. Nothing it’s wonderful.
• Jonathan (10/5): Incredible Safari with lovely family - AMAZING SAFARI! 🐘 We did a private evening safari with Hansaka, and saw more elephants than I can count. He was incredibly knowledgable about all the animals and birds, and provided binoculars for even closer views. He even helped us spot a crocodile. We also stayed with him and his family - lovely clean room, and great breakfast which was all local grown food and served to perfection. Thank you for the amazing memories 🤩
