Guest Reviews
- Jamie (10/5): -
- Radoslaw (10/5): Cosy and warm - Cosy and warm nd excellent quiet location
- Keith (10/5): Beautiful location with perfect accommodation/hosts made our trip very memorable. - Excellent location for our needs, hosts had opened the property for us at pre arranged time. The accomodation was brilliant, every amenity, very comfortable and laid out to perfection. Our hosts went above and beyond our expectations and a big thank you to them, Highly recommended.
- Helen (10/5): The most wonderful short break - The friendlyness of the host from the booking to our stay to the end of our stay, plently of communciation. The cottage was just perfect in every sense. Simply nothing, it was perfect and exactly how it was advertised.
- lester (10/5): - Exceptional property and location.
Very well laid out with everything you would need thought of.
Would love to have stayed longer.
Heather was excellent with communication and friendly.
10 out of 10 Nothing to dislike
- Leonie (10/5): - Great cottage with great hosts. We had a small problem with the shower and they came right over to help us.
Highly recommended!
- Peter (10/5): - Alles war sehr schön; die Gastgeberin ist ebenfalls sehr sehr nett. :) Nichts
- Tricia (10/5): Just perfect, many thanks - Brilliant location, conversion from an old store dine with lots of love by someone who has a good idea for calm, welcoming spaces. Lots of thoughtful touches including even a shoe horn. Only thing not to like is that is it not available for my exclusive use. *sigh*
Nichts!
- Mandy (10/5): Loved it so much we have already booked for next year! - Very clean. Wonderful, peaceful location. Ideal for a couple Nothing
- Sebastien (10/5): Un très bel en droit pour rayonner - Une maison totalement rénovée dans un joli village
Équipement au top
Emplacement idéal pour rejoindre Édimbourg Un peu trop impersonnel
- Courtney (10/5): Beautiful countryside cottage with amazing hosts - Wow. Where do I begin on this beautiful cosy cottage in a small village in the beautiful Scotland and it’s amazing, friendly and so welcoming hosts?!
The cottage is beautiful, it’s equipped with everything you need, every detail has been thought of and there quite literally is nothing I would change. The cottage Netflix account is an added bonus for a cosy night in!, very clean, spacious for a couple and beautifully decorated.
Heather and her husband went above and beyond for us in our stay, they are such wonderful people and we cannot thank them enough. We can’t wait for our next stay. Nothing not to like

- andrew (10/5): Fabulous cottage in beautiful rural location but near to everything, would highly recommend. - Exceptionally clean and modern little house, it’s not tiny inside, the facilities were fabulous, everything you needed was available. Was nice to meet Heather and Ian, parking right in front of the house, would love to stay again when down that way.
- Hana (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect! Clean, warm, cozy, friendly!
- Peter (10/5): very cosy and very comfortable -
- Kim (10/5): Only had two nights but could easily stay two months and not get enough of this spectacular area of Scotland. - The Tiny House was not so tiny.😀. Beautifully presented with all the facilities you could need and extremely comfortable. Loved the village and so close to many other areas for easy day trips. Loved it all
- Jennifer (10/5): Perfect stay - Everything. Cosy. Clean. Location. Host were very accommodating to our unique situation. Would love to come back again. Nothing
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional - It was a well thought out property. The bedroom on the ground floor works as it is cooler than upstairs. The layout upstairs works with the addition of the window seat and is light and airy. Small detail as no outdoor seating but that is only when the weather is nice which isn't always in Scotland!!!
- Linda (10/5): Wonderful host, house & location! - Heather went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had a query about the TV and she & George arrived a couple of minutes later to sort it even thought it was 9pm - amazing service! Within the tiny, immaculate house was everything we needed. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and, being on a quiet wee street, made for a peaceful sleep. The surrounding countryside was beautiful. The perfect place to get away from it all. Nothing.
- Zach (10/5): Homely and charming cottage - My second stay at Bowersburn, just as good as the first a year earlier. Heather the host was attentive, communicative and welcoming.
The house itself was extremely clean and quiet. Although a small footprint, the topsy-turvy design and use of windows make it feel bright and airy, with a very charming design. The bed is comfy and it gets nice and dark with the blinds closed.
The scenery in the local area is very pretty, you can easily go for a day down in Edinburgh or north for some scenic countryside. I travelled to Aberfeldy (1hr) and Falkland as part of my visit (20 mins) - both very picturesque with some pretty nature trails and waterfalls. Even a walk up Munduff Hill (accessible from the village, see photos) gives great views; you can see far into the distance on a clear day - it is a bit steep mind!
Needless to say I'd recommend anybody pay the cottage a visit, I'll definitely book again if I'm visiting the local area.
- Lesley (10/5): Gorgeous cottage in a pretty village - Ideal cottage, cosy with everything you could need. I loved the window seat. Nothing
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - We had an excellent stay here. Heather went above and beyond to accommodate our every need - Thank you. The house itself was incredibly clean and well furnished and stocked with all the necessities for a comfortable stay. The house acted as a great base for exploring the local area and if we were in the area in the future we would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the great stay.
- Abby (10/5): An amazing stay, ended up in me and boyfriend getting engaged! - Very clean, Heather was absolutely lovely. Such a quiet, picturesque location as well.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (10/5): A peaceful stay in a beautiful little house. Would definitely return. - Small but perfectly formed. Super clean.
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional - What a fantastic little property! Easy to find, well equipped, & presented. Nice little extras of shortbread on arrival, along with the owner popping down to put lights on before we got there.
Locak shopkeeper was friendly and helpful, telling us about local sights to see, and the shop and garage are literally round the corner
Very communicative host, loved our little weekend getaway 😁 It was all fab....just wish we'd been able to stay another night!
- Maria (10/5): We felt as home as soon as we came in. Absolutely the perfect place to stay! - I loved it! We couldn't have asked for more!
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Serena (10/5): Perfect place 👌 - The accommodation had everything we needed, it was cozy and relaxed, the beds and pillows were comfy, it was very modern. Shower was great, location good, easy access to shops, etc. Host was very accommodating, and communication was great. It was all perfect
- Johnbh (10/5): Historic cottage - Bowersburn cottage is a very comfortable place to stay in the lovely of Kinnesswood. It was equipped with everything I needed. Like others, I loved the window seat. A check of the 'before' photos on display demonstrates the extraordinary transformation that has taken place here. I loved the area, and managed to walk part of the heritage trail around the Loch. I also visited Lochleven castle, located on an island in the Loch. The area is a friendly one, and I had a number of chats with people I encountered while out walking. The Scottish Gliding Centre is nearby, and one afternoon there were 3 gliders flying above the village. I visited Leven's Larder several times, eating at the cafe and stocking up on provisions there. Heather was a wonderful host and very responsive. Nothing
- Tatjana (10/5): I really enjoyed my relaxing and quiet stay in this beautiful property with gorgeous views! - The tiny house is beautifully kept and decorated/equipped to a high standard. It matches the images and was really clean. I loved the couch, it was super comfortable and I might look into getting one of these for myself in the future. The personal highlight for me was the little window nook for sitting. I spent way to much time there just observing the weather and listening to the birds chirp. Heather was a lovely host and it was nice of her to briefly pop over and say hi. It was the perfect break from the busy city life! If I did have to pick something small to improve, I would suggest having a soft set of pillows and one set with a bit more firmness. The ones that they had were quite soft for my neck and a slightly firmer one would have been great. This however, did not much affect my stay and I did really enjoy my time there and would absolutely go back
- Mbalwierz90 (9/5): A beautiful little cottage situated at the bottom of the hill. - The location is stunning. There is everything you need available in the cottage. It is modern, clean, and adorable. Many lovely walks around.
The host couldn't be nicer and more helpful. The upstairs room gets really warm.
- Ashley (10/5): Fabulous stay - The house as a whole is absolutely lovely. The bedroom is set up beautifully. Bed was extremely comfortable, very quiet street, so slept brilliantly. The shower is excellent with good pressure. Heather was very warm, friendly and welcoming. House was clean and tidy and very comfortable. We loved the window seat, and looking out over the neighbouring gardens was beautiful. We felt the house was excellently located for what we were doing . Cannot wait to visit again.
- Harriet (10/5): Exceptional - Small but perfectly formed cottage with really lovely quality finish and feel throughout.
Heather was very welcoming and had great communication.
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional - An amazing property in a peaceful village. Perfect for a quiet getaway. Our host, Heather, could not do enough to make this an enjoyable stay.
- Zach (10/5): A delightful stay in a quirky and charming cottage. - Heather the host was very attentive and communicative leading up to and throughout the stay. The cottage itself was well equipped with everything I might've needed, and it was pristinely clean. I found it to be characterful and cozy, it definitely had a feel-good factor.
- Dreamsinblack (10/5): Exceptional - This is a really lovely little cottage in a peaceful location, situated on a quiet lane just off the main road through the village. It is spotlessly clean and well presented. The clever use of space and light gives the property a brighter, more spacious feel than expected and the cottage has a modern, comfortable vibe. It had everything we needed, with a well equipped open plan studio kitchen, comfortable bed, great shower and parking immediately outside the property. I loved the little window seat overlooking a neighbouring garden. Photos on the walls showing some of the renovation, and old photos of the village, are interesting and there's a great little book with lots of information about the history of the village. You can find videos online showing the amazing renovation and transformation of the building if interested.
The village has a shop, a small garage and a pottery, and the nearby Balgedie Toll Inn is a lovely traditional pub serving great food. There are good walking and hiking opportunities around the area and the cottage is a good base for exploring towns and villages in the wider area.
The host is communicative and our experience from booking to departure was exceptional. I hope it's not too long until we are able to stay here again.
