Guest Reviews
- Lee (9/5): Relaxing stay in a comfortable apartment - This is a lovely top floor apartment that is pretty central to access all parts of Ghent.
The apartment was lovely and very comfortable and stylish.
The fact there are plenty of cafes nearby saved cooking.
Would recommend. Lots of stairs can be difficult with a case. Not the apartments fault.
No handle on the front door meant getting trapped fingers if you were not quick enough
- Guy (9/5): - Having a very good breakfast & lunch resataurant on the ground floor was a bonus. The tight spiral staircase and the final even more steep steps the the apartment's door. Going up/down each day wasn't really a problem, but getting luggage up and down was diffifult at times.
- Janet (10/5): - City Loft apartment is absolutely perfect! 😀 So comfortable and in an amazing location. It is so handy for everything you would need from local bakeries, coffee shops, bars and restaurants.
Ghent is a beautiful city, with a super fab Christmas market.
The people we have met have been super friendly.
A visit to Gravensteen, a cruise on the river and church visits have been great and well worth it 😀 Absolutely nothing other than having to leave 😔
- Leonard (8/5): Perfect location, huge space and modern stay. - Beautiful loft in the heart of the city, perfect location. Very cozy, and all of the amenities were very modern and up to date. The bathroom in particular was super nice and convenient to use, which made it a very comfortable stay. This process to get into the property was difficult to manage. Required logging into a website, and getting direction from there. I would suggest to put the directions into an email so it's easier to access.

- Line (10/5): Plush and very spacious apt - Spectacular and spacious apt, excellent location, very comfortable bed, great shower, velux wondows with electric blinds, Bora cooker etc There are a lot of lights throughout the apt, on the wooden beams and also on the ground. It took us a while to figure out which switch was for which light!
Super Ausstattung.
Perfekte Lage.
- Ana Maria (10/5): - nu are loc de parcare si balcon

- Caroline (3/5): Do not recommend staying here - The aesthetics of the apartment were very nice, and the layout and design were beautiful. Having kitchen access was also nice. The location was not far from the tram, and a short walk to the main city center. There was a ridiculously high fee for early check in, which can sometimes be nice when flying from the west, and arriving to Belgium early in the morning. Starting with the check in process, the instructions indicated the key code pad on the wrong side of the door, and showed a picture of the wrong keypad. Upon reaching the apartment, it was very warm (not surprising for Europe in the summer). Unfortunately there was no AC, which was not promised in the listing, but there were also no fans, which made the heat on a 4th floor apartment unbearable. We immediately reached out to the staff about options to get fans and they never responded throughout our whole trip despite saying “available now”. There were some minor issues with the apartment—black hair in the shower, and no bathroom hand soap was provided. Overnight we opened the windows to try to cool the apartment down, but due to the location near the university, the noise outside was extremely loud until 2am. We also discovered the next morning that having the windows open allowed mosquitos into the apartment, and we badly attacked by mosquitos overnight. A fan would have greatly helped with both the heat, and keeping the mosquitos away. Judging by several dead mosquitos on the walls in the apartment we were not the first to experience this issue.
There was also a direct view from the neighboring apartments into the bedroom loft, which became quite uncomfortable when multiple men appeared to be looking into our windows.
Ultimately, because the conditions were so unpleasant we opted to move to a hotel the last night, and still never heard from our hosts until they sent check out instructions.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional apartment in an excellent location. - Centrally located on one of Ghent's main shopping streets, about 4 doors down from the Carhartt store and a short stroll from the 'old town'. No car access but apartment reached via looping around Savaanstraat, then parked car in the garage at the start of the same street - €30 for 48hrs. Modern designer feel, comfortable, clean and well equipped with sharp knives and decent crockery. No issue with street noise unlike some guests - windows well sound insulated. Instructions for the keys could have been a little clearer, the front door to the building wouldn't close properly but Ghent seemed a pretty safe city in comparison with London etc. so wasn't a real concern. Airco would be helpful in the height of Summer not sure if available or not.
- Andrew (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. Apartment was perfect for our needs. Location was amazing. - Location was fantastic.. Shops were all within easy reach. Easy to walk to eateries. Apartment was tastefully decorated and modern. All amenities were provided, nothing was lacking. Apartment was super spacious as well. Nespresso machine is a very nice touch. King sized bed was nice and big. Dining table is huge and spacious. Stairs to the apartment (and in the apartment) are very narrow i.e half an adult foot might fit onto the tread. Not great for kids or older people. Noise from the street when the windows are open can be loud - however, when windows are closed the sound is cut off - this could be a problem in summer when you want the windows open for ventilation.
- Herman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jana (9/5): The perfect place to discover the amazing Ghent - The apartment was wonderful, a great and quiet place at the same time. You just have to climb the narrow stairs to the top.
The apartment is equipped with everything we needed for our short trip to Ghent.
The location is central in the middle of the lively university district. We didn't need our car and were able to park it in one of the nearby parking garages (approx. 5 min walk to the apartment).
We really enjoyed our stay.
- Stefan (9/5): Amazing appartment. -
- Vasileios (9/5): Amazing loft in the center of Ghent! - Great location. The loft was very spacious, modern with very good and minimal decoration. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to spend some time in Ghent or to stay in Ghent while driving around. Personally, we stayed in Ghent and visited Brugges, Amsterdam, Brussels and Antwerp. Nothing special. Some things that are missing including iron and pots. I am sure that these are going to be added as the property seems to be brand new.
- Tom (9/5): Very lovely and quaint - Location

- Mark (8/5): Excellent clean property, fantastic location and brilliant place for a holiday for a couple. - The property served us well with facilities. Bathroom beautiful and the cleanliness exceptional The noises from the establishments close to the property early in the morning would wake us up… around 6am. The lack of mirrors as there was only one in the shower room. Another in the bedroom would help a second person while the other person is in the bathroom.
- Se (5/5): Stylish Interior, but Overpriced and Disappointing Facilities - The location was conveniently accessible to where I needed to go, and it was nice that nearby tourist attractions were also close by. When I checked in, the place was not ready to welcome new guests. There was a pile of dirty trash left behind, and it was so unpleasant to see insects breeding there that I ended up having to throw out the large, filthy trash myself.
The accommodation didn't have a washing machine, and the number of towels provided was insufficient for the length of my stay. There were no extra rolls of toilet paper or even basic soap, so I had to buy everything just to get through the week.
It was also extremely difficult and exhausting to carry my luggage up and down the narrow, steep stairs.
On a hot day, I couldn't keep the windows open because the noise from the bar in the neighboring building was so loud, up to 2 a.m.
The space was large, but there were only a few windows that could be opened, so ventilation was poor. Without air conditioning, it was unbearably hot and uncomfortable.
- Simon (7/5): It could have been really enjoyable. Be aware of the details. - Let me start by saying the apartment is beautiful and the location is great.
(Apartment is on the top floor with small stairs and no elevator. Also you have to walk a bit to the apartment as it is a no-car street. But this was no issue for us.)
Getting into the apartment is easy.
Mattress is good. The whole operation is run by a big (money-grab) organization. Customer service is basically non existing or is impossible to get in touch with or get an answer from.
There were many things that made this stay disappointing and annoying. As mentioned before by another traveler after your booking here you need to sign a many page online contract and go through a very time consuming online check-in procedure. I found this to be very intrusive. Next to that you are also confronted with a mandatory deposit on top of the booking fee.
Like said the apartment is beautiful but we were there in the high summer and the apartment is without any AC or fans for cooling and the upstairs sleeping floor (straight under the roof) got to seriously unbearable temperatures. It may not be hot in Ghent that often but when it does it would be nice to have some cooling.
Also as a growing trend (@Booking.com should really do something about this btw). it is now more and more a "normal" that you need to check-out before 10.00 A.M. I think this is very inhospitable. Especially when it becomes another money-grab line where they offer you a late check out at 12.00 for 50 Euro and a 13.00 for no less that 80 Euros. This just proves that it is a forced upon measure to squeeze even more money out of travelers. Especially when you can only check-in at 17.00h.
We were there to enjoy De Gentse Feesten so budged for a late check-out in order to have an easy morning but found myself in the shower at 11.00 when two cleaners entered the apartment and from within the apartment started (and kept) talking to me while I was in the bathroom after I verbally sent them away. I addressed it to the company but have yet to hear back from them.
So overall there are a few positives about the spot but these big (again) money-grab companies are ruining the travel experience more and more. I really hope that Booking.com will pick this up and start implementing some better quality control.

- Pascal (8/5): Great place; condescending formalities - Modern appartement with all amenities in the center of the great city of Gent The registration process is awful and time consuming; it requires too many details as if you buy the place.
The approach comes across as condescending.
It takes quite some time to figure out how all the buttons in the house work and the TV I never got to understand,
- Lamees (9/5): Superb -
