Madeleine is an amazing host and went above and beyond for us to have a great stay. Warkworth is a lovely place with some beautiful scenery and lovely community. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay in the area! Would recommend having a car to explore the area

- Dearna (9/5): Beautiful, private, relaxed in a moment. - The property was beautiful, well designed with a luxury feel. The bed was great, hot shower and warm towels. The outlook from the lounge was private and green. Kitchen was well equipped. Would highly recommend this property and Madeleine the host. We only had one night there.
- Alan (8/5): Relaxing break in a pleasant location. - Lovely and quiet with easy access to the town. We knew the property had no tv but think that adding a tv would be a positive.
Also a net curtain across the main window into the private garden would give some privacy.
- Lankhorst (10/5): - Very comfy, clean and owner very helpful No TV
- Lee (10/5): It was exactly what we were after! - Beautiful and compact, but at the same time, spacious and airy. Loved the kitchen and the bed was so comfy!!
- Fiona (10/5): -
- Bronwyn (9/5): Clean, comfortable and close. - Quiet but close to town and surrounding places, Matakana, Goat Island experiences etc.
Everything that I could want was there. No TV, but that's something I liked. I forgot to take my own pillow (which I always do) and found the pillows a bit uncomfortable.
- Shaun (10/5): Would recommend - Perfect location for us. Comfy & cozy spot with all the facilities we needed. The hosts were responsive and gave us all the info needed before arriving. 10/10 experience!
- Louis (8/5): -

Property was comfortable and clean.
Contact with hosts was very good.

- Stuart (9/5): Another great visit to Blue Gum. - Great location, easy access to lots of interesting places nearby, peaceful and quiet, having the owner and their family living on site made it more special. Very well appointed kitchen which is important for us. Comfy bed and very pleasant living space. Madeleine was very welcoming and friendly and keen to make our stay a positive and memorable one. This is the second time we have stayed at Blue Gum, we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. All perfect for us.
- Cope (8/5): Great little cottage with everything you need and close to town. - Well presented property. Lovely and clean. Beautiful comfy bed and lovely linen.
- Gillian (8/5): Spacious, well-equipped kitchen, private cottage with garden views. - No breakfast provided.
Location suited our requirements well. I had to get under the bed to plug in the bedside light to a multi board, needed a kitchen utensil to reach it.
Hair dryer supplied but no power point anywhere near a mirror.
No TV, but apparently that’s in the listing.
- JudyMac99 (9/5): - Very quite, lovely garden. Very well kitted out. Lots of books and magazines to look at, with no TV. A board game or card game wouldn't go astray, but overall, just lovely.
- Kerry (9/5): - It's a cosy and well equipped place. We knew that there is not tv but fine with us. The bedroom warmed up nicely with the wall mounted heater. Perfect for a short stay for two. Nothing
- Yahn-Zhih (10/5): - Very tastefully kitted out accomodation and great hospitality.
- Susan (10/5): Highly reccomend Blue Gum Stay when you are travelling in the north of NZ. Worth a stop over. - Blue Gum Stay is a lovely cottage well appointed with nice fittings. It was quiet and sunny. The perfect place to stay.
- Bryar (9/5): Would happily return! - The host(ess) gave really clear instructions and communicated well, we bumped into her at the gate and she was friendly and hospitable. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and nice. The location is peaceful and spacious, and fresh eggs were a nice touch (unfortunately we didn't have the time to make use of them, but it was appreciated!). At this time of year, we made use of the heating which kept us very toasty. Being able to bring our dog at no extra cost was also wonderful. There is no TV - but apart from missing a bit of background noise it made us talk to eachother which isn't the worst thing in the world!
- Jen (10/5): Cosy cottage - We loved the homely calm ambience of this delightful cottage. Everything was just as described. Immaculately clean; all that we needed was there; very comfortable bed; close to amenities; easy access and lovely helpful host. There was nothing we didn't like.

- richard (9/5): Nice people, nice accommodation, allowed to bring our dog and would happily stay there again - Only met Jono and he was a nice bloke.Place was well equipped , quiet and private. Outside could do with a good tidy up, but he’s obviously a really busy boy who hasn’t got enough hours in the day. No TV either which is unusual but not a deal breaker for us.
- Earle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (9/5): A quiet, comfortable stay - This homestay is very private and is in quiet location. It is spotless and comfortable. The kitchen is very well appointed. The hostess was very friendly and made us very welcome. We do not have any complaints.
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable stay. Very clean. Warmed up quickly with the heat pump.
- Monique (9/5): Superb - Quality place..easy to find and to access onsite..cleanliness..spacious. prompt.replies.from.host. A small.snackmor twonwould be good. Having travelled.some.distance basics are appreciated, eg a small.chox bar or biscuit or something.
- Milton (8/5): We had rain on that day so the room was warm and comfortable. The host and daughter were lovely. -
- Christine (10/5): Wonderful, we will be back :) - Very clear instructions on how to get to the property, easy access via lockbox. Loved our stay, very cozy and comfortable, will definitely stay again There is no TV, it wasn't included in the amenities but we hadn't noticed this. For us it didn't matter at all.
- Amelia (9/5): Superb - Ease of check in. Well equipped kitchen. Loved the quiz books. Close to the town centre. Pet friendly Small shower. No tv
- Linda (10/5): Perfect - Spacious, comfortable, well equipped, quiet, friendly host.

- Jenny (8/5): Lovely, quiet 1-bed stay - Lovey 1-bed apartment. Very easy check-in/out. Lovely furnishings and a cosy home to stay in. Good amenities and good tourist suggestions written by the host. Would highly recommend.
- Marylou (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you Madeleine for offering us the early check in and for offering a late check out too. The property was perfect for us, and loved the visiting chickens in the morning. You’re a lovely host.
- Yvette (9/5): Nice homely apartment in quiet location - Lovely homely apartment. Lot's of space. Two comfy sofas and a good size dining table.
Spacious kitchen that was very well equipped
Shower was a little bit small but perfectly useable.
Lot's of books, if we had been there longer it would have been nice to read some of them.
Nice quiet location but still close to town and local attractions.
- Megan (9/5): Superb - Great location, unit was large and well equipped. Had bacon and eggs with the eggs still warm from the chickens!
Only downside was the shower cubicle was very tiny.
- Watson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cook (10/5): Madeleine is a great host, excellent with communication and provides a great place to stay. - The accommodation is quiet, warm and cosy, comfy bed, immaculately clean.
We would definitely stay again N/A
- Christopher (9/5): AN EXCELLENT NIGHT'S STAY - The apartment we very large with separate kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The kitchen had extensive and excellent facilities, which unfortunately we did not use fully. We drove into town and ate at a very good Italian restaurant. Parking was outside the apartment and moving heavy luggage to and from the car was not a problem, The only small issue was the location, which is a challenging walk up and down hills into the centre of Warkworth where the restaurants and shops are. Wifi was very good. Nothing
- Ken (8/5): Very good -
- Bruce (9/5): A pleasant week in Warkworth - Very quiet and private. Hosts Madeliene and Johnno were very approachable and helpful. There was plenty of room and great facilities.
The location was handy to where we needed to be during our stay. No laundry facilities. Otherwise, we liked everything.
- Clive (7/5): Good - No TV available.
- Jing (10/5): Wonderful stay! - Clean, cozy, love the books!
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay with our small dog and 12 week old baby, the place had everything we needed and Madeleine was very accomodating when we were a little late leaving in the morning! Beautifully kept and easy to find location.
- Namali (10/5): Comfortable and cute - It was a very cute, decorated well and a modern unit. It’s attached to the main house but you have your own entrance and garden space with seating. Kitchen was well equipped with oven , microwave, fridge, kettle. Bed was very comfortable but a rather tall bed to climb on to haha. Shower cubicle was so tiny. One of those corner unit triangular shaped.
- Roh (10/5): Nature blissful retreat - Modern with everything you need. Heating/cooling systems with cooking facilities. Nice outdoor space to chill out, with a beach vibe ❤️ Nothing really. A spa outside would have been perfect 😀
- Helen (9/5): Enjoyable - Quiet, well provisioned & a very thoughtful & interesting collection of books to browse Only that the double bed was a little small for the two of us, but the bedroom size determined that
- Annabel (9/5): Great facilities - lovely space to relax in. Very private and quiet -
- June (8/5): Overall clean and cozy. - It was comfortable, clean, and had a good amount of space. The bed and couch were comfy. There is a lot of natural light and lighting in the rooms. The kitchen had a variety of appliances: a hob, a kettle, a microwave, and an oven. The pillow was too hard; the stay would've been more comfy if there were a couple more options.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet and relaxing. A TV would have been good 👍
- Alan (8/5): Ideal for our two days stay. - Very roomy -- it had everything you needed and a good location. Very close to shops. Kitchen was well equipped. NO TELEVISION !! Everything else was fine.
- Tony (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (8/5): Very good - Peaceful, clean, modern N/a
- Wendy (10/5): Nicely designed space - Very nicely designed. Bed was very comfortable. Friendly host. A TV would be nice and a larger fridge.
- David (8/5): Very good - The kitchen was very well equipped. The bed was harder than we find comfortable
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): We wished we were staying for longer - How clean and well equipped the property was and what a lovely ambience there was. Nothing
- Malcolm (10/5): Excellent and would recommend to anyone. - Very quiet location. Roomy and well furbished.
- Mel (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing. - Lovely and clean, all the things you need. Fantastic space. We especially liked no TV and loved the great variety of books to read and enjoy. Very peaceful The connecting door could do with a visible sliding lock on the visitors side to reassure it won’t be use accidentally.
- Alan (9/5): I will be a return visitor. Very happy. - Quiet and welcoming. Good facilities and a fantastically comfortable bed
- Tanya (10/5): We loved where we stayed. Would absolutely stay again. Everything we needed was there including a microwave, easy walk t - Beautiful spacious accomodation, very clean, very comfortable, easy check in great parking and very quiet. Had everything we needed. And it does have a microwave. Liked everything
- Susan (9/5): Lovely peaceful property close to Warkworth centre and Northern gateway toll road - Spacious lounge area and comfortable bed. Walking distance to The Grange which has many food outlets. Warkworth village centre is also walkable but incredibly hilly. I met the owner one afternoon and she was very pleasant. I missed the part in the reviews mentioning the lack of TV and Microwave but this wasn’t an issue as I had technology with me that I could watch tv on and there is an oven for those that want to cook.
- Sue (9/5): Nice clean apartment. Easy to find. Good parking. Quiet. No issues. - Location. Private. Quiet. Parking. Very clean and tidy. Lovely garden view. No TV.
- Corinna (6/5): Comfortable enough but probably wouldn't stay again - Nice decor, location ok Kettle was dirty with flaking off limescale had to use pot to boil water.. No TV. Wifi unstable. Very small shower. Looong hill to walk up from town
- Brett (9/5): Superb - Lovely clean and tidy, well set up kitchen, sunny unit. Very pleasant surrounds. If we could have had a woollen blanket, coffee plunger and some milk it would have been perfect.
Thankyou, we enjoyed our stay
Brett and Penelope

The kitchen was well equipped and had everything you needed to self cater successfully. The living space was light, bright, airy and had pleasant views outside. Comfortable seating & bed, a modern bathroom and easy parking - ticked all our boxes. A good location - easy access to Warkworth and the surrounding area. In short we very much enjoyed our week there.
- Lisa (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (8/5): Very comfortable apartment. - Nice location, and very comfortable apartment. Spacious lounge/dining/kitchen area. A heat pump in the lounge room and an electric blanket on the bed. Good parking. Great host. No microwave or a way to make fresh coffee. Would have been great to have a coffee plunger. No power point in the bathroom.
- Susan (10/5): A joy to stay. - A beautiful spot, accommodation was home away from home. Highly recommend. Lovely guests, will definitely stay again. Couldn't fault a thing.
- Dianne (10/5): Wonderful - A lovely relaxing apartment and very clean. Madeleine was a wonderful host.
- Harriet (9/5): I recommend this property for anyone traveling in the area. - The location was perfect for visiting Kawau Island and Warkworth. The place was spotlessly clean and the host was easy to communicate with.
- Debbie (10/5): Stunning, spacious and very comfortable space with a lovely thougtful host. Highly recommended. - So comfirtable and beautifully presented with lots of attention to detail. Lovely host.
Exactly what I was looking for. The only feedback I have is that I couldn't find a way to plug in the hairdryer in the bathroom or bedroom. Ended up drying my hair in the kitchen.
- Jan (9/5): Lovely small home, private and very comfortable. The heaters were on when we arrived. Definitely would recommend as th - Beautifully presented, clean and comfortable.
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - Lovely clean comfortable private place
- Kirsty (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Very comfy, very cosy, lots of great magazines and reading material in an uncluttered lounge. Lovely - Curtains were closed on arrival (we arrived later in the afternoon) and heat pump was on. Very warm and cosy when it was cold and chilly outside. No dislikes
- Tony (8/5): A very clean and lovely setting - No TV or microwave
- Rajiv (10/5): Exceptional - The host was super nice and helpful
- Diane (10/5): A cosy and restful stay :-) - Friendly host. Urban location with a rural vibe. Tranquil and cozy. Well equiped facilities from heating to pots and pans. Eco friendly products. Great selection of books. Just an observation but not an immediate worry - theres no TV and washing machine or laundry. However there are several laundrettes in town. My stay wasn’t long enough to need access to a laundry facility or watch tv.
- Georgiana (8/5): Great place, well located - beautiful private setting amongst trees - recommend to others - - Very comfortable - a big apartment space. Lovely outlook into a stunning lush lawn and trees, sunny. Quiet and private. Homely, also with books, mags and games. For me the location was excellent and it is close to town. Places recommended to eat were really great. Couldn't find a TV - but that wasn't a biggy for me as there were good Wifi connection for a laptop. Madeline was an excellent communicator and this helped the whole process be very easy - thanks for a great stay Madeline Would have been great to have more than 1x black tea teabag & some milk.

Madeleine was the most generous and helpful host
- Janet (9/5): A beautiful stat - A beautiful & welcoming space with everything we needed for our stay. All furnishings are of a high standard. The host has taken much effort & gave a warm welcome on our arrival. All fabullous
- Birgit (10/5): Exceptional - Dear Madeleine and family,
We were happy about this cozy and comfy place and the surrounding area to reach within a couple of minutes. Even when we ask for an outdoor eating table, maybe a special request at that time of the year, you just got one for us. If you don't want to get into Auckland by car, easy and relaxed way by bus.
Thank you
- Clifford (10/5): N/A - Initially, there was a mix-up with the key access password provided by Booking.com, but it was quickly resolved by contacting the phone number listed on the booking. While my special request for a bath instead of a shower wasn’t acknowledged, the property conveniently had a hose port outside for washing dive gear if needed.
The kitchen is reasonably sized and well-equipped for cooking, and supermarkets are conveniently close by. The designated carpark is clearly marked with an ‘AirBNB’ sign, so be sure to drive past the first one upon entering the driveway. The property’s peaceful location away from the main road ensures a quiet stay, and the inclusion of air conditioning met my personal needs. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, providing for a great night’s sleep.
Overall, this is the perfect accommodation option in Warkworth. N/A
- Danica (10/5): It was a nice relaxing stay - Instructions were very clear
