Guest Reviews
- Janelle (7/5): A cosy spot, short walk to the town centre and a lovely verandah to sit on with a glass on wine in the afternoon - Great location, comfortable, lovely character Would stay again, but just a few suggestions. A tea towel would be lovely, as well as a box of tissues, unrashioned toilet paper and as we had dogs with us it would have been nice if the lawn was mowed. It was very dewy, the grass was long and it was a bit hard to ensure that we cleaned up all their dog poo.
- Geoff (9/5): -
- Simone (8/5): - Cute cottage, an easy walk in to town for dinner.
- Melanie (10/5): - Homely feel, great communication from the host and clean NA
- Sally (7/5): It’s a lovely house in a great location but a bit more attention to detail is needed. - The location and the outdoor areas. It could’ve been cleaner. There were lots of cobwebs over appliances in the kitchen. And where the back door was there was what looked like dry muddy water There was also on 1 and a half toilet rolls for 4 people for 3 nights.
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Cendrine (9/5): Fantastic home, very comfortable, good facilities, less than 5 minutes walk to town. - Location is amazing, the house is very cute and well decorated. A dining table inside, although there is no room to fit one. Wasn't an issue for us as we ate out, but breakfast we had to eat on our knees. Not a huge issue though, only if you have a bigger group, there is a table outside but too cold to eat at in winter.
- Angela (10/5): Highly recommend this property to anyone going and staying in the Rutherglen and wanting a home away from home! - What a wonderful little cottage.. walking distance to town , barbecue facilities excellent and the air conditioning was amazing on a 40° day.. beds were very comfortable. Highly recommend this property and it was extremely clean… thank you for having us. We would stay again when coming back…
- O'Brien (10/5): Very relaxing over the Christmas period. Should have stayed longer. Hosts were easy to communicate with and accommodatin - Rustic and charming
Great aircon evaporative
Comfortable beds
Peaceful environment
Loved sitting on the front deck on the chairs provided and relaxing on the comfortable lounger in the living room
Creative decorative elements
Accessible for me in my walker including bathroom Would love to stay again. It was within walking distance to our family gathering. Enjoyed the chocolate factory and my husband loved the whisky tasting experience at Corowa.
- GERARD (9/5): Very Good - Facilities and cleanliness None
- Zara (8/5): A pleasant stay. - Cute country cottage in the main street. Nicely decorated. Close to Tuileries. Good facilities. It's a busy road, with some trucks passing by, but ok at night.
- Jo (8/5): - Kitchen
Undercover outdoor area
Bath The tight driveway made access tricky for our 4WD.
No dining room
- Lynette (6/5): Great location but needs greater attention to detail with everyday requirements - The location was excellent. Easy walk to the Main Street and restaurants.
The cottage was neat and tidy
Good parking out the back and easy access to the cottage.
Heating was great Was disappointed that their was a great coffee machine but no coffee beans provided. We could have brought some from home if we knew.
No milk was provided . Would have liked a cuppa on arrival !!! Once again - if we knew we had to buy milk we would have done so.
There was only one toilet roll provided in the bathroom . ( which was rectified by a call to our host)
No hanging space or mirror provided in one of the main bedrooms.
The shower drainage is very slow.
No indoor dining table to eat at
- Estelle (10/5): Lovely time at the cottage. More than enough space for the 6 of us and the dog! - So close to the town and very spacious. Had everything we needed.
- Tania (9/5): We had a great time and would definitely stay again - The location is perfect with a short walk into town
Very cosy and comfortable
- Social (9/5): Great the house was very charming great company and great time - House had a beautiful atmosphere and was close to shops and facilities We were expecting two bathrooms but the one that had the laundry was locked.
I feel we should have been able to use this bathroom and the laundry
- Dani (10/5): Wonderful property comfort and good value close to everything - Cute cottage close to main town and wineries Main road early morning truck noise
- Katharine (8/5): Very good - Cute little cottage. Easy walking distance to the main street shops and perfect for anybody attending a wedding at Debortoli (right over the road).
- Joanne (1/5): A VERY DISPOINTED STAY!! - Located in main street so in walking distance to restaurants and cafes The cottage was very unclean.
There were 4 adults and only 1 towel each .for 5 night with the laundry locked.
The kichen was unclean, and even a plate had food dried on it from the people before us.
There was no tea, coffee, or sugar
Bugs on the lights on the range hood above the stove.
The door handle was hanging off on the front bedroom, and the blinds in both front bedrooms are broken and also the lamp.
The linen was very old and thin .
The shower base had paint peeling off, and the toilet would not stop running .
The outside bbq area was very unclean also .
It was a very DISAPPOINTING stay .we stayed 5 nights and payed $1800au
I would like to hear from Booking.com about this stay ...
- Geoff (7/5): Great town with many points of interest. Brilliant cycling options - No tea bags or coffee
Remotes to TV needed new batteries so we did
Road noise is loud from around 5.30am
No laundry open.
Good location walking distance to town
- Judith (8/5): Very good -
- Sally (8/5): Our stay was extremely comfortable and enjoyable. - The cottage has everything you need. There are lovely outdoor areas to use. And it is very close to town.
- Rick (8/5): Very good -
- Ross (8/5): Very good - Great little cottage in a great location in town. Walking distance from the main strip. Hosts were easy to contact and helpful. A tad noisy with the trucks going past the main road, but other than that, it was great.
- Megan (9/5): Perfect -
- Simone (7/5): Quant cottage close to town. No laundry - Great location. Kids room with a playstation. games, tv.
The bath was exceptional. The grass was not cut, our dog was stung by a bee and had so many prickles in his fur that we couldn't let him outside. Fan and bug killer outside, but there was no power, so we had to run an extension cord through the kitchen window as it was hot. There was no access to the laundry unless we stayed 3 nights min. Never have I heard of this before. We had been travelling and needed a washing machine. It wasn't very clean, but we travelled with our pooch, so that didn't bother us too much. They could have at least been swept out the back. No instructions for anything. Why turn the modem off??
- Pamela (9/5): The house is very comfortable and spacious enough beds for four lady bowlers - The outside table was a problem as we older ladies found it difficult to get our leg over
There wasn’t a table inside
- Ann (8/5): Very good - Close to all the things we wanted to do .. No working TV for first few days— host had problem fixed before we came home
- Angela (9/5): A lovely, friendly, effortless stay. - Well appointed, wonderful rear privacy, very responsive hosts for any tiny issue.
- Robyn (8/5): Very good -
- Courtney (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- David (6/5): Pleasant - the shower not enough water presser hand basin water not running away quick enough
- Bracoo17 (10/5): Great stay, close to where we needed, lovely cottage - No breakfast provided. Close proximity to lots of lovely coffee shops Another toilet and bathroom would have been great
- Jynell (7/5): Good - Well equipped house and good location. Great communication. Outside table was the only place to sit and eat. It was not easy for a group of 70 plus years to navigate.
- Kristie (8/5): Lovely. - Cute cottage
- Anna (8/5): Overall we loved our stay, the cottage is in a perfect location super close to town, and we would stay again! - Perfect location, comfortable beds and lovely bathroom. There was a lack of dining space (no dining table, just lounge room with a little coffee table), and the heater was quite noisy and had some issues when we were there.
- Dominic (10/5): Great location and perfect for a small group - Very clean and functional
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): An excellent base for a wine tasting tour - Older character cottage, nicely renovated and set up as a holiday rental. Quiet location within walking distance of the town centre. Good location for visiting a few of the local vineyards.
- Susanne (2/5): Very disappointed, I would not book again. - Rutherglen is a beautiful place, however the location of the house, being on a main road was very noisy, particularly trucks. I did not realise when booking how busy it would be. Wow, there were cobwebs everywhere, particularly hanging down over beds. The oven & trays were filthy. The surround around the dishwasher was very dirty. The extra blankets for the beds had stains on them. The sugar canister in the pantry had something growing inside of it!! Not a lot of attention to cleaning detail. Dust everywhere. The fans on both heaters were extremely noisy and I think not serviced or cleaned for a long time. The BBQ outside was unusable as it was filthy. The paint was peeling off the bottom of the shower on your feet! I would not book again.
- Carlah_on_the_road (8/5): Beautiful cottage walking distance to winery & town - The location is superb. Spotlessly clean and lovely furnishings. Loved this house. The fireplace fan is REALLY loud.
- Marilyn (10/5): This place is gorgeous. Do yourself a favour and stay here next time you’re in Rutherglen. - Great location - walking distance to cafes and restaurants. Lots of space and beautifully furnished and decorated. Beds and lounge area were very comfortable. Kitchen was decked out beautifully. Loved the outdoor dining area, which we made use of. Thought it might be a bit cold in winter (I’m a Queeenslander) but there was a gas burner so probably fine. We didn’t use the third bedroom, but if you have teenagers there’s play station, Wii etc. Order in pizza and head off to the wineries, I say!
- M&sb (9/5): Superb - It was comfortable and well equipt The shower needed a paint
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Glen (9/5): Absolutely beautiful little cottage! - It’s old world charm The truck noise
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- John (7/5): Overall we enjoyed the stay. The beds were very comfortable. - Quaint cottage with lovely decor throughout. We felt that it needed more attention to housekeeping. The outdoor dining area needed cleaning and cobwebs through out the house. We couldn’t find any house instructions I.e coffee machine & tv. One roll of toilet paper for a 3 bedroom cottage was insufficient.
- Rosalba (10/5): Comfortable and convenient - The cottage is within walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The kitchen is well appointed, the bathroom is large and the couch and beds are very comfortable. The cottage is tastefully decorated and the air conditioning was excellent The step down from the entrance to the kitchen. Initially it takes you by surprise
- Martine (9/5): Superb - Charming little country cottage, rustic with some modern features. Comfortable, relaxing and homely.
Rooms are a good size, plenty of comfortable beds.
Ameneties clean. The kitchen is well equipped for all your cooking needs. Outdoor dining area is fantastic, enclosed garden space for little children or pets. Ample car parking. Close to town centre, short drives to wineries and the Murray River. Not far from Albury. Not really a dislike. Looks like owners still doing some renovations to restore this cute cottage back to its former glory.
