• DanR (9/5): Grand Falls Hilltop gem - Super friendly and helpful staff. We arrived late in the afternoon after discovering the original hotel we had booked closed two days prior! Fortunately, the best room at Hilltop (#30) was available. Amazing views from the balcony directly over the falls. Very comfortable beds. Spacious and clean room. Funky restaurant overlooking the falls serves a good selection of breakfast items, included in the price. The whole property is a bit dated, but that can be seen as part of its charm. Everything we encountered was clean and worked.

When we got to eat the breakfast, we were told that only adults eligiable Nothing was mention regarding it in the resevation. After dozens reservations through booking over the years, this is the first time that it happens to me. The receptionist told us that is their policy and booking is 3rd party. None of us ate the breakfast. It was very dissopinted expirience and we expect to get refunded.

• Helene (7/5): A disappointing stay - As usual the location is perfect on our way home from Montreal. Being New Years Eve and day, the restaurant was closed and there was no breakfast even though it is supposed to be included in the price and there was no adjustment in the price. We only found out when we received a call late afternoon, less than 2 hours before our arrival. When we arrived, the room key did not work and of course the office was closed. Someone eventually came and finally found that the key reader did not work. It was resolved, but after hours of driving this was not ideal. Finally, I feel that with the new ownership, the new prices are excessive for the quality of the motel, especially when the breakfast is not included. Unfortunately we will likely find another location next time.

Fantastic breakfast. In a small quaint town that I like to stretch my legs and go for a walk. The pillows are not great. Too puffy. I’m not a tea or coffee person (included in breakfast), I wish a glass of milk was included in breakfast, it is an extra charge.

The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was AMAZING. The bed was comfy. Very good amenities. The smell in room was overwhelming. Was a floral spray scent. Unless you’re trying to cover up another bad smell please stop using that spray. I opened both front and patio doors to air room out. I wouldn’t be able to do this in winter. Immediately gave me a headache. Would have been nice to have had a small bar of soap for my shower.

They are also pet friendly although the room is quite small already and to add our mid size dog in made it very tight. Cost for the room is quite high considering how small and dated the rooms are.

• Sigrid (8/5): Geräumige Zimmer mit Aussicht - Ich hatte ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoss und musste daher keine Koffer noch oben schleppen. Mein Zimmer war sehr geräumig mit Blick auf den gestauten Fluss vor dem Kraftwerk . Die Wasserfälle, die im Sommer aber kaum Wasser führen, sind in 10 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Frühstück wird in einem Restaurant mit dem gleichen Blick eingenommen und war sehr gut, es wurde frisch gekocht. Gut fand ich auch, die Frühstückszeit bis 11 Uhr. Eine zentrale Beleuchtung des Raumes unter der Decke wäre noch besser.

• Edith (9/5): Geweldig verblijf: meer hotel dan motel! - Onverwacht het beste hotel tijdens onze Oost-Canada rondreis. Enorm grote kamer (31) met balkon en uitzicht op de rivier en achterkant van de watervallen. Twee fijne bedden, twee fauteuiltjes, tafeltje met twee stoelen, bureautje met stoel, koelkastje, magnetron, Keurig koffiemachine (met cupjes), stoeltjes op balkon, helemaal compleet. Reuzegrote, schone badkamer. Goede wifi. Geweldig inbegrepen ontbijt (mochten alles kiezen uit de kaart). Kortom, dit was wat ons betreft meer een hotel dan een motel! Een paar minpuntjes: geen lift, we moesten onze bagage twee trappen omhoog slepen (natuurlijk te verwachten bij een motel), de kamer was nogal donker ingericht en het donkeren tapijt vol vlekken maakte het er niet beter op. De supervriendelijke receptioniste vertelde dat ze bezig waren het tapijt in de kamers te vervangen. De hordeur bij het balkon was behoorlijk kapot, dit gemeld en deze zou vervangen worden.

Didn't know that orange juice was not covered in what was offered and paid for it. Had a bottle of sugar on table that had a fruit fly in it. Watched as a customer had waited and their order was lost and they waited. Watched as a customer waited 15 minutes for their bill. Had a Jeep in the yard blocking the side entrance. Reported this but nothing was done. Price has gone up. Would rather have the price lower and have breakfast elsewhere. The cook added spice to the pan fries which made them salty and too spicey. Should have a dining separate room with a self serve breakfast, available for guests. Offer for larger vehicles to park near Violettes after unloading bags. White bedspreads to see cleanliness. Carpet with stain removed. Rm 21.

Die Heizung funktionierte nur teilweise. Mobiliar im schlechten Zustand. Teppich schon längstens kaputt und zerrissen. Die Schleusen vom Wasserfall waren zu, somit kein Wasserfall.

• April (3/5): Grand falls is a dumpy town, I would stay clear of staying here. Waste of my holiday! - You could see they were trying to get it together. Fresh paint in rooms. Cute little baskets with coffee pods and bathroom amenities available. Lots of clean towels. It’s on an odd lot right off the highway. Busy traffic. Not what the pictures on website showed. Terrible view. Trashy town. Our key card didn’t work and the staff didn’t know how to change the batteries so we got this weird key that was hard to use to open our door.

Our TV did not work. on complaining to receptionist, we were offered a reduction in the nightly rate for this. she could not process this on that day. We were assured that the manager would do this the following day. On speaking to the manager the next day, she flatly refused. Told us that the girl the night before had no authority to tell us that. It was the TV providers fault not theirs A very off hand woman towards us. we had NO TV FOR THE WHOLE STAY. STAYING IN A VERY BORING AREA APART FROM THE FALLS. WE WERE VERY UNHAPPY.

• Robert (4/5): We did not stay. We got our refund and left to find another motel. Very disappointing . - Great and very helpful staff. The restaurant looked great. The room smelled terrible and not up to the price asked.
• Gordon (3/5): - The staff were friendly. The TV did not work. The water was too hot to shower. The location of the toilet righr up against the tub made it a challenge to use.

• Peter (3/5): We won’t be using this motel again! - Overlooking the Grand Falls and a great Restaurant. The room was stuffy and smelly, the bed mattress need replacing, the air conditioning made a continual squeal! We stayed in this facility in 2017 and loved it but clearly it needs some reinvestment.
• Beverly (8/5): - Convenient. Breakfast with great service The railing on balcony is very loose. No regular coffee in room. Staff smoking.
